I was looking for somewhere to have early dinner after going to Tallulah Gorge State park and found The Attic on Yelp. It's a cute location in the downtown area, and we opted to sit out on the patio area to dine. Our server was kind and efficient and offered suggestions after asked what she liked on the menu. She said anything with shrimp, and really everything was good. I got a margarita for a cocktail and it was fine, but nothing to write home about. We shared the coconut shrimp appetizer and it was tasty but I thought the shrimp were small for 10.95 for 5 shrimp. Maybe I'm just used to living close to a shrimp basket where their coconut shrimp appetizer is really impressive. Anyhoo. I got a glass of apothic red blend and since I have had it before, knew what to expect. The wine list was ok but seemed a little bit pricey for the offerings. I decided I wanted the filet since she said the mushrooms and bordelaise sauce was good, and my boyfriend got the French dip (the server said that was her favorite sandwich on the lunch menu). My filet came with a side salad and side of my choice so I opted for the baked sweet potato with butter and cinnamon sugar. The filet was cooked to my liking (rare) - but I ordered the jumbo shrimp add on and it did not come with the plate. (Kinda glad it didn't after seeing the coconut shrimp and then realizing the add on shrimp for 4 jumbos would have been 14$). The filet was already pricey at 47$ -- and it was fine, but certainly not anything I would get there again. I found the sauce underwhelming and watery, nothing like the rich, unctuous bordelaise sauces I have had before. The asparagus were cooked nicely, but not very many spears. The baked sweet potato was as expected. My boyfriend's French dip was disappointing, honestly. He said it tasted like the steak-ems you get in the freezer and then heat up, and there were way too many HUGE pieces of onion all over the sub. The au jus was not very flavorful, more like a beef bouillon cube heated up. All in all, for about a 100$ tab, I definitely would not eat here again. I was hoping this would be the "nice" dinner out of our trip, but the food, in my opinion, was lacking. read more

Emily was our attractive waitress and hostess. We were immediately sat in the main dining area. Rustic setting with exposed ceilings and walls. Food came out promptly- I wasn't overly impressed with my rueben. It was a 3 outta 5. Order sweet potato fries and for some reason they tried to make them sweet and less healthy by adding cinnamon sugar to them. Just stick to salt- We'll visit again as Clarkesville is a cute lil town. Fun atmosphere! We are visiting Clarksville & we went here for lunch today. We were quite underwhelmed. We love fried green tomatoes, but these were *yawn* bland. Then, the chicken philly was bland. Excellent service and a delicious lunch spot. The soups are absolutely DIVINE. Highly recommend the Roasted Red Pepper and the Lobster Bisque. There was vegetarian options and a dog friendly patio. The patio is a little loud, but that's understandable for being next to the street. Shout out to our server Bailey, who was helpful, kind, and stayed safe by wearing their mask! We had a less than great experience at The Attic. This was our 22 anniversary so we splurged on steaks. The menu said top angus choice cuts. My wife had the fillet and I have the ribeye. Both steaks were loaded with gristle. The loaded baked potato's were not hot so the cool butter made the potato warm at best. At nearly $50/plate and a total bill of $150 I expect more from a restaurant. Their only saving grace was excellent table service. read more

This place has a great atmosphere with a vintage feel. Has indoor and outdoor seating.Used to be a garage so inside has exposed brick and textured walls with open ceiling and wood accents. The food has always been great from appetizers to entrees, salads and sandwiches. Lunch menu has some different options than the dinner menu as well. The Buffalo chicken wrap was delicious and was big enough to save half and the Reuben was a favorite as well being very tasty with the sauce and not being dry at all! Several side options available, we got crinkle cut fries, sweet potato fries, and vegetable medley and they were all great. They do have a very good honey mustard for those who appreciate that, like myself. Would have given 5 stars but depending on how busy, the wait staff can be slower at times, dinner items can be little pricy but sandwich items are decent for size and what you get! As a consistent patron of anything open during COVID, I get it it. Employees are scarce. And most restaurants display a sign reminding we the public. Just as The Attic does. Ok. Cool. I get it. No Problema. So we waited to be seated for 10 mins. On a Monday afternoon at 1:30. Staff walked by. No greeting. Until one walked by and said, "We'll be with you in a few." Alright. Finally get seated. "Your waitress will be with you." 2 other patrons finishing. Staff comes and goes. Give times. All around us. But no staff for us. After sitting in a very vacant place for 15 mins. Yea. We got up and left. I understand these are difficult times. But there is no excuse for substituting "I don't care." For staffing difficulties. I was very impressed with the restaurant. I went on Valentine's night. My opinion is if you have a great experience on a holiday, then every other day will be good. We had the prime rib and the filet mignon. Both were delicious. The food was presented well and everything tasted good. The service was excellent from Justin. I was starving after a looong hearing at the Courthouse in Clarksville. We came in around 3 and the place was completely empty. The Attic is super close by the Courthouse and the reviews seemed decent. My boss and I started with the fried green tomatoes, which were fine. I ordered the meatloaf and I hate to say it but it was unbearably DRY. I love meatloaf and I was starving but I just couldn't finish it. We were looking for a nice steakhouse to go to and found our two favorites had an hour wait time so, decided to go somewhere else. We looked through Yelp and found "The Attic". We went in with no expectations and we were pleasantly surprised. Upon entering, we were greeted by well decorated restaurant, a fantastic wait staff and just with a short wait. We ordered lobster and pimento cheese as an appetizer and it was unspeakably great (BTW, we had to take it home because the portion were generous). We then ordered the entree and we were not disappointed. We originally came to eat steak, but we found other entrees that looked better. Anyway, the entrees were well cooked, very delicious, with generous portions. The meals were a little pricey, but well worth it. Food was ok... our appetizers were great.... But the service is an issue ! Listen I know being allergic to cinnamon may sound stupid to you but it's serious. When I asked if the sweet potato fries had cinnamon and then told you I was allergic I was serious! The waiter absolutely swore there was none. Then when he brought my food I could smell it, I removed my sandwich and asked for regular fries. The waiter never even brought me a plate . This is definitely an awesome place after a day's hike. I went there twice and I swear that this is really really comforting! It is on the way back to Atlanta from tallulah gorge and black rock, without much detour. I tried the Buffalo chicken wrap, it is really yummy!!!!! Tons of chicken inside that wrap! The fries is really good too. I also tried the California wrap, the same type of meat, but I would prefer Buffalo chicken wrap. I also tried the hockery burger and blue cheese burger, it's yummy too! This is a little late. This was our first time. My wife and I came here for dinner about five weeks ago. They have inside and outside seating and we chose outside. They did have a sign at the hostess area apologizing for slow service as they were short on staff. They were very short but the waitresses were very friendly and very helpful. I had a burger and fries - excellent. My wife had a salmon salad and she also remarked it was excellent. We will definitely be back. I wanted to like the food here, but I was not given a chance to try it--guess they did not want my business. We were promptly greeted when we arrived for a late lunch. But we were shown to a small table way in the back, dimly lit. There were a number of other tables in front by the windows that were empty, though they all needed cleaning. However, the hostess/waitress said "we don't have a busboy today" and instead showed us another nearby table in the back. When we asked directly for a table by the window, aware that it needed to be cleaned first, we were again told that they didn't have a busboy. I suppose at some point in the day they ran out of tables. This was a total and complete lack of good customer service. For the life of me I cannot understand the "it's not my job to clean a table" of this person. What a way to ruin a business. It's sometimes a hit, it's sometimes a miss. Very expensive dinner when it's a miss. Fish was over seasoned and bland tasting. Portions aren't very generous. I tend to stick with the chicken, but this last time the feta cheese on mine tasted very off. For the price you just expect more. read more

The restaurant staff was very friendly and the inside of the restaurant was interesting-looking. However, it was a chilly morning and the interior temperature of the restaurant was still quite chilly at noon. I had to leave my overcoat on for most of the meal. The red pepper soup was good, but a bowl of it was $13. That's a ridiculous amount of money to pay. I had wanted to have grilled trout, but I was told they were out of that. On their website, there's a picture of their fries and they look handcut and really good, so I ordered fries with my overpriced soup. The fries were just crinkle cut frozen fries. They were good, but nothing special and they certainly weren't the type of fries pictured on their website. Today the food was great, but the service was terrible!!!! After reading the sign outside that said "Tuesday special 1/2 off appetizers, wine and deserts", we clarified with our waitress that appetizers were 1/2 price. We then each ordered an appetizer with our meal. (Mine happened to be a large bowl of lobster bisque) We enjoyed our appetizer and meal and when the bill came we were charged full price for our appetizers... and I was only charged for a cup of soup. After pointing this out to the waitress, she proceeded to have her boss correct the bill. When she returned, she had raised the price of my soup to a bowl.. as it should be... and replied "they said you don't get the half price appetizer with soup, it has to be an entree". What??? When was anything said about what you had to order? After taking 30 min. Of going back and forth on this... as multiple people had ordered appetizers... the eventually fixed the bill (mgr. never came out to apologize for the confusion) and when we left... the sign outside had not been changed to clarify. It still amazes me, as a city person, that one can get in a car, drive to a center of a town, and find ample parking, (for free), directly behind the very restaurant you are going to. We came here for a quiet Saturday afternoon lunch - this was my first time heading this way for a bite, and it is another example of classic, small town food that one can go to repeatedly and probably never get tired of. YELP offers up a nice coupon for a glass of wine - but it is only for house wines, so if you have a craving for a nice glass of Malbec...that one is full price. The menu has a variety of options that would be sure to please just about anyone. If you read my reviews you know I spend a good amount of time with my Mom in SW Florida, where fresh Mahi Mahi can be found just about anywhere, so I had mixed feelings when planning to order the Blackened Mahi sandwich this far from the Gulf. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted it...and it was really very good. I recommend getting the remoulade type sauce on the side; it is pretty heavy and you only need a little. Burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads were enjoyed all around - there were several chicken type food items on the menu that would be on my list to try next - and I saw a buffalo chicken wrap headed to the pass on my way out that looked great.
