We stopped at Copper Pot today as we passed through town. The restaurant has plenty of parking, but is a bit of a challenge for the disabled. It's just a walk... or steps. The restaurant is lovely and offers indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, Emilie, was attentive, efficient, and friendly. My daughter ordered a pizza with a side salad. The salad was enormous, and all of their dressings are made in house. The salad and pizza were both excellent. My husband also had pizza and he was also pleased. I ordered the Gateway Grits which is creamy, cheesy grits topped with 'cracklin' chicken. It was a huge portion (all of our entrees were plentiful) and was hot and creamy and delectable--high praise from this Southern girl who is very picky about grits! The grits are served with a side dish, and a buttery garlic biscuit. The prices are maybe a bit more than we expected, but well worth it for the quality of the food. Highly recommended. We luckily got there before the dinner rush and were seated quickly. Service was great, and we loved the restraints decor and subtle goonies nod throughout. We started with the house chips and homemade ranch, they were so good, big sucker for house made dressings and this was a perfect dill amount. My partner had the meaty pizza which he said was great! I had the roasted mushroom alfredo pasta with chicken, taste wise the sauce was good, but it was reaaaaaaally soupy so the noodles melted away from sitting in the liquid too long. I'm currently sitting in the restaurant. lol So far, not impressed! Sure hope the food is good! lol 1st question: In the weekend special it says *contains bacon, what exactly is the bacon in? It's the Bird Dawg: BBQ chicken sausage in a split top bun, tangy BBQ sauce, green apple & purple cabbage slaw, served with chili cheese fries. Server didn't know exactly. Said "they said something was cooked in bacon but I'm not sure". Why would you take the time to make a chicken sausage sandwich and then have some sort of pork in it. I never understand pork casing on any type on non pork meat. Makes no sense and stops non pork eating people from being able to eat a chicken sausage. 2nd question: husband asked, "can I upgrade my fries to chili cheese fries with my burger? "No! We can't do that! They only prepare enough chili for the amount of predicted Bird Dawgs we have ordered. Someone asked that." Yea I did! And if someone else did, and they didn't get the bird dawg, like I am not, then yall are wrong for offering it with the Bird Dawg and not anything else. The Copper Pot beckoned us to stop and try out the pizzas and sandwiches on our roadtrip thru Clarksville. Parking was easy on the side of the building, but harder for a mobility challenged person. Four of us were seated inside at a table with odd chairs...metal and wicker weaved. Washed up in clean restrooms before ordering. Water all around was fine for us but just know there is cocktails and wine available. The lovely missus wanted to like the Hawaiian pizza she ordered..it was different and cold! House and Greek Salads were a fresh start. The smokey honey mustard dressing gives the fresh greens a real kick. The shrimp and grits bowl came with topping of onion rings. The grits by itself was an above average winning Grits. My crackling chicken sandwich was perhaps the best winner. A moist piece of chicken inside a soft bun with mayo and pickles was a savory eats...but the seasoned French fries were limpy and cold. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed as The Copper Pot restaurant had a large local attendance with large pizzas being served up. We were waited on by LeAnna and she did her best to keep us in comfort mode. We finally tried out The Copper Pot. The pizza was great. The crust is nice and chewy with crisp edges. The wings were absolutely amazing. Everyone in our party of 5 loved them! What an amazing little spot! We had the weekend special which was a 6 mushroom flatbread and an arugula salad with goat cheese and raspberry balsamic glaze. It was absolutely delicious. My family and I enjoyed the copper pot very much, some items are hit or miss (like the pizza). They have a great patio outside as well as a spacious inside dining area. The booths on the back wall tend to always "reserved" though. The wings are incredible, I find myself doing battle with my father in law for them often. This place is a family favorite and close to home. Parking can be tricky but the lot across the street would be the best place to park. The atmosphere is rustic and classy with a nice seating area to wait if busy (which would not be surprising). We sat out on the patio with many fans and a breeze, was perfect for a spring day. Entrees we're Cuban and the Cracklin chicken sandwich. Cuban was better than most and big enough for two servings! The cracklin chicken sandwich was another house favorite and was like an air fried chicken with pickles on a brioche bun, very moist and had good reviews from my boyfriend. The pizzas I have had here are very delectable and has many different styles than your typical pizza joint. Price can be higher on large pizzas but I would expect that for the style and toppings. I was leary of the Yelp rating, but I was pleasantly surprised with one of the best pizzas I've had. We ordered the large 16 inch veggie pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. The oven was wood fired, so the pizza crust bottom was crisp, but still chewy. The crust was very edible, not the type you want to leave on the plate. The kalamata olives where whole and good quality. The mushrooms were fresh, and we were told the veggies came from the owner's garden. The Copper Pot is a gem in Clarkesville. Worth a stop or even diversion. What started out as a solid pizza joint, somehow morphed into a great family farm and game to table restaurant with great local produce from the owner and some of the staff. Custom made plates from the chef add to the experience, but for me it's always been about the food and service. In Copper Pot's case however the food, ambiance and service are all an extension of the owner's vision. Fun place to take anyone. Lover, friend, neighbor, or Grandma. We made a weekend trip to Helen, GA and were told about The Copper Pot. What a comfy place just a short drive from where we stayed. They were busy, but had seating available inside and out. We sat outside on the covered patio, it was really nice. We ordered a personal size meat pizza, which was not only delicious, but the perfect size for two. They have a full bar and plenty of other things on the menu, but I really recommend the pizza! The staff were very outgoing and welcoming! read more

There aren't a lot of options for a nice meal in the area near Toccoa & Clarkesville so we were pleasantly surprised to find The Copper Pot. We were seated immediately upon arrival - surprising given that it was 6pm on a Saturday evening. There were several large parties of prom-goers so we anticipated there may be a delay in service but fortunately that was not the case. We decided to try a large greek salad and a pizza since that seems to be a favorite at the Copper Pot. The greek salad looked and tasted amazing. It was covered with a generous amount of olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and purple onion. The vinaigrette dressing was very tasty - a perfect match for the salad. Honestly - the only complaint I have about this salad is the price - $17. For our entree, we chose the namesake pizza - the Copper Pot - which included homemade marinara, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, mushrooms, Italian sausage, bacon, and mozzarella cheese. The pizza was brought to our table hot and fresh. Most importantly, though, it tasted amazing! The combination of toppings was perfect. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Copper Pot. Let me preface this by saying that I believe something has *occurred* recently in the management of this restaurant. My husband and I have been frequenting The Copper Pot since out college dating years and have always loved their food and the general atmosphere. However, last Sunday evening, we experienced the rudest encounter with a manager of a restaurant that I, frankly, am still half laughing and half shaking with anger over when it flits through my brain at random intervals. We were arriving with a group of 8 people for an early dinner and I and one other member of our party went in to put our name in for a table. The restaurant was moderately busy, but there were large tables open and no one waiting. I asked the hostess (who, in her defense seemed like she had been living in some sort of war zone if you can tell that sort of thing from the haunted, wide eyed ​expression on a teenaged female) that we had a party of 8. She replied that they weren't seating groups of larger than 7, which, if I'm honest, seemed sort of bonkers but I could understand if what happened next had not occurred. Surprised, I asked her if we could split into two groups of 4. She said she had to ask her manager. I told her we didn't mind sitting separately and she radioed for help. The manager briskly walked up next to us, never glanced my way, and was asked if we could be seated in two parties of four. She gruffly responded, "No," and then, having quite obviously thoroughly answered all questions and concerns, turned on her heels and left me staring into the panic stricken face of the hostess. "So, you're telling me we can't eat here?" I asked incredulously. "No." "We don't need to sit together. We just want to eat!" As a natural born conflict avoided, this was quickly turning into a nightmare scenario for both the character in the dialog. She replied in monotone: "I'm sorry. My manager said no." Now, I'll never be able to quite explain my next response but all I can offer in terms of an explanation is that when I'm angry i start to sound elderly. "I...have NEVER," I said and we walked out. I'm still laughing at the fact I said those words to a stranger but I'm not laughing at the way we were not offered an explanation, any apologies, and basically just told that because we had originally wanted to eat there in a larger group, that we wouldn't be allowed to eat there separately in smaller groups. It was weird, overall. And since this experience I've now heard from multiple people that lately the service has been extremely rude and they have generally acted as if it was a privilege for you to be allowed to eat at their establishment. That's here-say but it certainly was my experience as well. Long story short, they've lost us as customers and I hope they lose you too until they deign to treat people as customers rather than inconveniences. read more

We ate here after hiking the Angel Falls Trail. Everything was awesome! It is just off the square in Clarksville, Georgia, which is absolutely adorable. The ambiance was relaxing and the service was great. They have excellent wings with a dry rub that we loved. Their house salad is anything but boring and I loved that it is on romaine lettuce rather than iceberg. The pizza was on point with a crust that is crispy but not burnt. We will definitely be returning after more hikes in the area.
