This place is outstanding, make reservations if its peak hours, but if you have to wait 45 minutes it is completely worth it. We had the PEI mussles, probably the best I've ever had. I ordered the cioppino Portuguese fisherman stew....so good healthy portion, great seasoning and a nice spicy kick. We did not stay for desert. Just ate there this evening and it turned out to be the best of 4 restaurants we ate at during out 3 day stay. Not located in Perkins Cove, but a short distance away on Shore Drive. The food is great and the menu has a wide variation. You can tell the chef puts a lot of pride in his work. The pricing is comparable with most other establishments in the area and the ambience is not rustic, but certainly very comfortable. Weather permitting you and eat inside, or out, and enjoy the wait great service. During the period we visited, the website was not fully operational, but there is a menu posted outside the building. read more

My wife daughter adn I visisted Prime for a casual dinner at the bar last night. The modern, clean and sophisticaed restaurant was a cut above. The drinks were great and the food first class. The menu has an excellent range of price, from apps (tuna mango tartar) and small dinner entree's (hanger steak with bruschetta) to tasteful steaks (20oz ribeye, bone in). Rick (owner/bartender) was extremely friendly and attentive. Definately a place to go back to! read more

We chose to dine here earlier this week based on the solid reviews and the fact we were having an early dinner and Prime's website advertised a nice early bird special. It turned out to be the best restaurant choice of our vacation. The bartender was super and the food and ambiance were great. The early birds were a great deal @ $16.95; please keep them Prime. My wife had a beautifully made grapefruit cosmopolitan and a glass of wine and I had a mixed drink and a beer, so we didn't get away cheap, we just got a good deal and everybody won. My wife is a big fan of baked haddock and declared this possibly the best she's had. My tri tip steak was cooked.perfectly as ordered and was tender and great. The bernaise sauce I ordered on the side (only $2 I think) put it over the top good. The included first course and sides were all top notch. And kudos to Nathan the bartender for doing everything a good bartender should. read more

Tom and I would like to thank Rick and his staff for making our wedding dinner/reception phenomenal!!! We were married this past weekend and this was a destination wedding (which can be a very trying and nerve wrecking experience to plan when you don't know who you are really hiring to do the job) but Rick was beyond amazing, right from the beginning with his "laid back" nature, reassurance the weather would clear and accommodating last minute changes to meals. Every meal was delicious and the ambience of the restaurant is amazing to hold a reception or any type of party. His wait staff ROCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK, kudos to Ally, Tyler, and Andrea your service was impeccable!! We would most definitely recommend any brides-to-be and/or grooms-to-be to call Rick and have your reception at his restaurant. Food is good at times and not so good other times. The bar generally has a raucous atmosphere oftentimes with pretty foul language which appears to be allowed. Embarrassing when in mixed company and the Owner allows it to continue. read more

Stopped in for drinks the other night. Great bar staff, great drinks and great atmosphere. Didn't try the food as we had already ate but the menu looked great and other patrons' food that we saw served looked great especially the nachos. read more

Service was great but steaks were cooked wrong, my wife ordered medium rare and I ordered rare, both came out well done not even pink. We alerted the waitress and advised her of the error, she came back shortly and gave my wife the plate I had been eating from and said the chef said it was correct then returned again with the steak my wife cut into and said the same thing giving it to me. We could tell she looked uneasy about it and even turned the lights up in the restaurant to show us the color of the steak. If we had not had a gift certificate we would have paid for our drinks and left. If you're in the mood for dry, over-cooked filet, this is the place for you! read more

Ate here last year when it was Prime & liked it enough to go back. Good ambience, especially around the bar, and friendly & efficient service. Food was excellent, starting with bruschetta & a beet salad, followed by perfectly cooked & flavorful filet mignons, washed down with a good Pinot Noir. Dessert was 2 Irish coffees, as by then we couldn't have managed anything more substantial. The only minor drawback is that the dining area has a wooden floor, which looks great, but means sound echoes a bit. Certainly intend to go back there when next in the area. read more

I really wish I could of given a better review the place was lovely and it looks like the owners spend lots of money renovating the interior. But other than the hostess the staff was rude and disappointing. The waiter made us feel like we were doing him a favor and the bartender was more interested in the baseball game than his customers. I tried to leave and get me car, the valet had left for the night and after asking 5 different staff members one of them realized the valet left my key on top of the back tire. The hostess was very pleasant.........but I think they should invest in some customer service training. read more

June, 25 2017 for dinner. We sat the bar and weren't disappointed. I had a burger and the pork belly app. My wife had the beet salad and the salmon. The beet salad and pork belly were excellent and my wife was raving about the salmon. My burger was good but it was undercooked, next time I would order it cooked medium well. Yes there will be a next time. The fries alone were worth the trip, just the way I like them. I did see several other items come out and all looked great. The guy next to me had the hangar steak bruschetta and it looked fantastic. What made this place aside from the food was the service and atmosphere in the bar. Tim and Rick were behind the bar and I was told that Rick is the owner. He was engaging with everyone and working as hard as anyone else. The main thing I noticed was all the people we were talking to at the bar were locals. If you have a restaurant in a tourist area and the locals are eating there, well that tells you something right away. Everyone has there own opinion on food quality but I look for the whole experience. It's true my burger was a little off but that won't stop me from going back because everything else was fantastic. We have walked by this place many times and finally decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did!! It was very early for dinner (late lunch?) and they offer an early-bird dinner which was both an amazing meal and hands-down the best dining deal in Ogunquit. For $15 five of us had the lobster special. It started with a choice of salad (meh) or some of the best clam chowder I've ever had. The lobster was delicious as were the mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. One person in our party of six opted for the fish and chips. It was a nice sized portion of tempura-style haddock. Delicious! My only complaint was that our waitress didn't seem very happy that we were ordering from the early bird menu. Sorry, but isn't it better to have a party of six at 5:00 than an empty table? She did adjust her attitude throughout the meal, but she did make us feel a bit uncomfortable. We, a party of four, went to Prime with a $50.00 certificate from "Restaurants.Com" . A family next to us had just finished their meal, also with a 'Restaurants.Com' certificate, that they presented to the waiter. They were told the restaurant no longer honored the certificate. When we explained we had one also we were told it too was no longer valid. No reason was given. No where in the restaurant was there a posting no longer accepting the certificate nor did 'Restaurant. Com' post anything on its web site. We asked to speak with the Manager and were instructed to go to the bar to speak with him. We refused and asked that he come to us. He was rude and offered no reason why the restaurant had decided to no longer honor purchased certificates. Although we had ordered our meals some half hour earlier, we chose to leave the establishment with a mission to inform as many local patrons as we could of this very shoddy experience. Shame on the owners and manager!! It was a very embarrassing experience. read more
