I really enjoyed this place, flavors were on point, portions were a good size and the food came out fast! The drinks that came in the plastic containers were super cute and the 3 we tried were all tasty. The only thing I was indifferent about was the soup that came with the lunch meal - but I wasn't expecting it anyways. There was both indoor and outdoor seating, we elected to dine indoors because it was so hot outside. Parking was cramped and we couldn't find any in the adjacent lot, but were able to find street parking nearby. Kinda felt sketch when I saw they sell everything at this restaurant like sashimi and bubble tea but decided to try the duck and green curry and was not disappointed! So I've been paying closer attention to the health scores of various restaurants and marking them off one by one if they are below a certain score. Unfortunately, a lot of my asian spots are well below 80, one was even in the 60s. Yuck. Anyways, I came across Thai Select and saw that they had a score of 100! I was taken back a little by that bc it's rare. Most are low to mid 90s. So I placed an order to try some of my fave dishes out including a couple of new ones and boy oh boy did they not disappoint! Everything was so tasty and packaged great. My first order was delivered and the next time I went (a few days later, dont judge me), I decided to pick up and it was just as fresh as the delivery. I even added mild spiciness to one of my dishes and that may have been a mistake bc everyone's spice level tolerance isn't the same. Mild felt like medium to me. I was sweating a little BUT it didn't take away from the dish. It was still delicious! Also, pickup was easy and safe with this pandemic situation going on. Hi enjoyed the red curry very much. However, the red curry was not nearly as spicy as I had anticipated it to be. The serving size of the curry was very well portioned and enough for leftovers. I thought that the eggplant in the curry was great and the food was very delicious overall. I would say that the red curry was more sweet than other Thai curries that I've tried. I ordered meals delivered to my hotel at 9pm. There were no plastic utensils, no napkin. The food was cold. I called restaurant to report. The manager said I had to ask for utensils and napkin when I placed order, he said he wanted to save the earth so he did not provide plastic utensils or napkin. He said he does not care if I cannot eat food with no utensils. I had to walk to the restaurant at 9:30PM for in-person reports, I requested the refund, he said no and the manager order his staff to hand me plastic utensils. When I am back to hotel, the food was too cold to consume. My daughter and I walked back to hotel by 9:52PM. I called back the restaurant to try to talk. Very utilitarian Thai place with not much ambiance, but food was good. I was disappointed in the ThaiRama, though. I ordered it with tofu, which was fine, but the "bed of steamed vegetables" consisted of 1 small broccoli floret, two or three matchstick carrot pieces, and the rest some kind of lettuce or cabbage. Thai Select is the best option for Asian Cusine in the Rosslyn area! With tons of flavors and spices, it makes this restaurant amazing. Obviously did take out with what's going on so couldn't judge the sit down option. The staff are friendly, explaining the menu and working promptly so prepare our food. Ordered the lunch special for $10 which includes soup, dumplings or egg rolls, and an entree. The beef and tofu pad se eew was phenomenal. Only reason for 4 stars is the portion was very lacking. Words can not describe what Thai Select has done for me and my family over the past 3 years. They been with me through good times and bad times. Every time I come back to DC from a vacation, my first meal is Thai Select on UberEats. Every time I am sad, they lift me up! Thai Select's services never disappoint. Food is always hot. And - they have a great rewards program through UberEats. If loyalty was a brand, it's Thai Select. I found out about Thai Select when they did a hostile takeover of my original favorite Thai place (iThai on M Street, shout out to the OGs). I noticed that whenever I ordered from iThai, my UberEats driver came from northern VA...suspicious. Regardless, the drunken noodles still tasted fire and I'd always been a very happy customer. I finally decided to take a pilgrimage to Thai Select in September of 2021. It felt like meeting up with someone I had been e-dating for years - I was nervous! Was I being cat-fished?! When I got there, I saw the logos of 8+ different restaurants on the door. Was I being cheated on?! I walked in and the place was buzzing with delivery drivers picking up orders. Orders of pad thai, bubble tea, dumplings, and more! I sat and ate alone and just observed the amazingness that was happening. It was a revolving door of delivery orders. A well oiled machine! Sitting over my steaming drunken noodles (and ice cold Sapporo), I realized I was witnessing history - true innovation in the restaurant industry. 8+ amazing offerings in one house, fueled by third party delivery and rewards programs. This was a restaurant that not only survived pandemic related economic downturns, but actually thrived!! It was a beautiful experience. Needed someplace close to office and very happy I found Thai Select. Arrived at 1pm and not very many people there so got seated right away. Didn't explore their entire menu but saw around 10 options on lunch "box" menu and chose Green Curry with soup of the day and spring roll. Soup was good but not as hot temperature wise as I would have liked. Spring roll was excellent as was the green curry. Fast service and just the right spice. I honestly was not pleased with this place. I ordered a duck curry and a cucumber roll. First of all, for 6 small cucumber rolls, $4 is a bit much. I give it credit for being the better dish of the two orders. Second of all, the duck in the curry tasted off. It was dry and extremely gamey; it wasn't even soaking any of the curry flavors which disappointed me because the curry was pretty decent. Is it sad that the pineapple and the pepper in the curry tasted better than the duck which was supposed to be the main event? The reason why I got duck curry here was because I tried my friend's duck curry and regretted not getting it at another Thai place because it was SO GOOD. The other place's duck was plump and juicy and picked up the curry sauce just right. Let's start out with the food quality...I would describe this place as on par with Asian food you would find in a mall food court. It's in no way authentically Thai. It's edible but not worth the cost and ultimately disappointing. What compels me to leave this place one star is its dishonest marketing and business practices. I have seen this place bill itself as SO many different names on Uber Eats, Postmates, and other delivery platforms. Here are just a few of the names it does business under beyond Thai Select: i-Thai, Vegan Mania, and Rice and Roll. Every one of these places is located at the same address and the menu is exactly the same, so they cannot even claim to host multiple businesses or kitchens. It is very dishonest marketing since I wanted to avoid Thai Select after trying them the first time but got duped into ordering again under one of these other names. The food that arrived was exactly the same as from Thai Select, which is what led me to look into the restaurant and notice their ever-changing names. Why keep re-branding if you stand by the quality of your restaurant? Maybe they're called "Thai Select" because they're constantly selecting new names to do business under. I ate lunch at Thai Select for the first time on Tuesday, and unexpectedly enjoyed it so much that I came back on Friday. And finally -- bubble tea in the Rosslyn area! The menu has all the standards you'd find in your typical Thai joint in America, but the ingredients are high quality and fresh, and the dishes well executed. The lunch box specials, available until 3pm on weekdays, include a soup of the day that is chock full of fresh vegetables and a choice of a couple fried veggie dumplings or a spring roll. And unlike previous comments, something must have changed because it's a lot of food; lunch is more like dinner portions - for only $9.99 to $11.99 depending on the protein(s) selected. So far, I've had: - Green curry with duck (there was a whole duck breast sliced in there) - Basil eggplant with seafood (east coast mussels and not the green-lipped ones from New Zealand) - Fried calamari (a light dusting of starch before perfectly fried) - Lavender milk tea with lychee popping bubbles (OMG. And not too sweet!) The main dishes were very filling with lots of perfectly cooked veggies. I admittedly licked up every drop of their sauces. They also have fried or grilled sliced marinated chicken lunch combos with sticky rice, as well as soft shell crab (!). And various other fruit popping bubbles, aloe, and Thai jellies for the bubble tea in addition to the typical tapioca bubbles. Another stop on my Rosslyn/Courthouse food tour of Arlington. The place was pretty crowded and had a decent sized lunch rush, but since I was doing carry out, I went to the front desk and placed my order. They have decently priced lunch specials for $9.99 which includes soup, dumplings, and the main entree. The dumplings were my favorite part and everything else was pretty subpar. I went with the cashew chicken and veggies meal. The chicken was rubbery and tasted bland and the veggies were not very fresh or tasty either. The dumplings are honestly why this meal is getting 3 stars. The veggie dumplings were so flavorful and I could eat 5 more of them if they came with my meal. I'd be willing to try this place again for their lunch special with a different entree, but I'm not super excited about returning. read more

It was translucent and separated and greasy, too spicy to taste anything, without any of the nuanced creaminess of a regular curry. Came here for lunch and made it in time to try the lunch box. I got the Kaprow chicken and the lunch boxes come with one spring roll and a small tiny bowl of veggie soup with tofu. The food was really tasted and tasted like authentic Thai food. I would just share a tip that If you get the lunch box the appetizers are smaller portions. Great food in an adorable restaurant. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner after work and it was extremely busy. Service was fast and everyone was friendly. For starters I got spring rolls and he got wings. I got a coconut milk tea recommended by our server and my boyfriend got a mango milk tea with mango popping. For our entrees I got chicken pad se eew (my usual) and he got drunken noodles with chicken. We finished with the mango cheesecake and my boyfriend got another mango tea to go. Very disappointed. Rude and unprofessional service from this restaurant. Tried to order online through Uber eats, and confirmed an order for delivery at 6:00pm. At 6, I check the status and the estimated delivery has been pushed back to 6:30. It gets pushed back later and later. When the time is 6:35pm, I get the notification that the restaurant has cancelled my order entirely. Now I'm left without dinner for my entire family and I have to scramble to get/make food, while everyone is hungry. I was so excited to see a Thai spot open my work! I've come here twice now, ordering the pad see ew during lunch time and then red curry during dinner another time. For lunch, it's a great value only being $10 for receiving a choice of a spring roll or veggie dumplings, soup of the day (I had tom kha gai), and then your meal. The pad see ew wasn't as flavorful as I hoped it would be, but it's not the worst I've had. I would definitely recommending calling ahead to order to avoid the lunch time rush- it can get busy around 12-1. For dinner, it was weird that the portions seemed smaller than lunch time? The red curry had a nice spice to it- not much else to notice about the dish. Service was quick and attentive though!
