However, I was quickly proven wrong. Not only was the service topnotch, but the drinks were surprisingly delicious and refreshing. There's a ton of options which is also surprising considering the tap only format. Upon further reflection of how tiny the bar is, it makes sense why they would go this route. It would be challenging for one person let alone two to be behind that bar shaking and stirring. I also heard there's a back area with more seating but we didn't explore much further than the front bar stool seating. Seems like a cool spot for happy hour or late night drinks and I would definitely return!

Regardless, the theme is nice with everything attributable to their "laboratory" ambience. Everything is served in beakers or similar glasses. It can get a bit crowded sitting at the bar as that's where everyone orders drinks but otherwise this was quite enjoyable. Will definitely keep on the list for HH.

If in need of a more spirit forward or herbal option there were plenty of other options in their menu. Overall, Palmetto was a delightful experience. You order food at the bar and grab it from the kitchen. The food is surprisingly good. This isn't your typical bar food wings and nachos. They have this sweet and tangy guochang wings. The wings have some good meat to it. Their chicken yakitori skewers comes with a black sesame dipping sauce. Pairs well with a cold beer. The crab lagoon and burger will always be a crowd pleaser. Their cocktails and drinks are great! Doesn't matter which bartender, they maintain the same standard. We opt to go early as they get pretty packed on the weeekend/ evenings. They have pool in the bar room. This is surprisingly a big space and ghe crowd is always vibes.

The staff are always friendly, and communication with Aida has been smooth and professional every time. The bartenders were nice and the margaritas were pretty good. Considering it's a speakeasy, I would say it's pretty spacious with a few booths and table, but would recommend you go there early if you want to be there with a large group. They allow birthday cakes from outside as well.
