Eggplant Delight
Juliawati W.

I went there yesterday with my husband. This place is reopening with a different name "Surreal Thai". It was a Saturday night and there was a soft opening with 20% discount so the place was packed. Regardless, we were seated immediately when we arrived around 6:40 pm. The ambiance is nice with unique overhead lighting. It's a cosy place. The menu has staple offerings such as noodles, rice and curries like you would expect a Thai restaurant. I ordered the chef special Khao Soi which was a chicken leg stew in a curry with egg noodle. I also ordered Eggplant delight with tofu. For appetizer we ordered grilled squid. The squid was very rubbery and smelled not fresh. The curry was good but the whole chicken leg was a bit tough and there's no knife to cut it. The most disappointing was the eggplant delight. Couldn't see the egg plant and it was cut too small and way too overcooked, not to mention it was covered in a soup like sauce. Taste wise it was ok. Both my husband and I had diarrhea within 8 hours. Not going back.

Located in a shopping plaza, this location has plenty of parking and indoor seating. Food: I ordered the chicken panang curry and drunken noodles with beef. The panang curry was very flavorful and more on the coconut side which I liked. It was paired with broccoli and of course chicken. Interesting enough, there was bits of I believe peanuts inside this dish which was the first time I've seen it like this -- this didn't bother me much and thought it added an uniqueness to the dish. The dunked beef has great flavor but the some of the veggies were not cooked all the way which was a little disappointing. This dish had more packed veggies and less of the middles than other drunken noodles I've gotten where it was more noodles and less on the veggies. The beef was great in this dish! Service was awesome and the food came out quick for dine in. Overall, this is a good location for Thai food.

Flavor for the food is always on point. Service is nice and friendly. Plenty of seating available for small or large groups. They're usually not busy should definitely do some advertisements then it would be packed! With a full bar if you're thirsty for some drinks.

Pad see ew (disappointing portion)

It was a disappointing experience for last nights take out. We ordered the pad see ew, asked if they can add additional noodles, they said they weren't able to do so. Most Thai places are able to do so, so not sure why they can't do the same as their competitors. The portion size was very disappointing for the price. We also ordered the Panang curry; this was good, but the amount of rice was half the size of a normal portion restaurants would offer. Had to add our own cooked rice... The fried tofu was good and so was the curry puffs. Overall, we will never go back.

Great customer service from the time I placed my order over the phone and showed up for my order. A clean restaurant with great indoor dining and decor. The food was Medicare. The lunch special seafood pad Thai was made to Order with light pad Thai sauce but it only came with 1 shrimp and 2 out of the 3 squids were huge and could've been sliced thinner and the one scallop was overcooked and rubbery. The lunch special pineapple chicken fried rice was tasty but not seasoned well. The best part of my order were the vegetable egg rolls ( flavorful & crispy and cooked to order) Overall a great place but the food could use some work.

Store front. It's in the shopping center with Giant. Centreville. Stone Rd.

Just found my new favorite restaurant in the DMV! I love Singaporean and Malaysian food so much but…read morethere aren't any in the 757 so really lucked out finding Southeast Impression so close to a random hotel we booked. The food came out really fast and our server was very attentive despite being busy. The decor was so spot on for Southeast Asia, I was transported there. There's an open kitchen and bar. They have an all gendered bathroom with a childcare station as well. I think I need to get a spicy serving rack for my house because I need it in my life. All the food we tried was amazing! Some stands outs were the chicken curry puff and duck wraps for appetizers. For mains the rendang and Khao soi. Honestly can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Will definetly be returning when I'm in the area!

Solid 10/10 high-end restaurant! Very fast paced but service is still top-tier. Our server came and…read morechecked on us periodically. They also limit your reservation for 2 hours! Part of our family came 30 minutes later; we literally finished just on time. I'd recommend using the 2 hours to eat especially if you have a big group. Food is nothing to complain about. I thought everything was pretty authentic. And, portion sizes are good for the price. Nasi Lamek I got wasn't super oily and fried chicken was very well-seasoned. Appetizer platter is a good option if you don't know what to get. The panda crème brûlée was good, but I barely tasted the pandan. They might not have tables so I'd strongly recommend making a reservation!!

This place is quaint and sweet…read more All their food is delish! Their customer service is excellent! I haven't been disappointed so far! Parking might be an issue, but there are lots of other places around the area that you can pay and park, I believe. It's worth the visit! It's simply only my list to visit often! I hope you do too!

Thai food central! This is their second location. I think their first was in Mosaic District. This…read moreone is a little more unique because it's combined with Flore cafe and you can even order the cafe drinks while dining. Not to mention it looks almost like a store within a store. I like their drinks from the cafe but they can be very much on the sweeter side, even some of their Thai milk teas etc. My go to is the pistachio latte and with actual bits of pistachio. I've gotten some of the appetizers are easier to share with larger groups when I've come. Things like the Thai money bags ($18) which come in 6 and the spring rolls ($14) and crab ragoon ($17). The appetizer I would not order again is the chive dumplings ($15) and they weren't crispy they were more soft. They were just a little too bland for me comparatively to the others. I've been here a couple of times but always order the same entree: the duck ka prow - $35 It's a staple for me and an absolutely delicious. Good mix of crispy duck with the meat cooked well and juicy. The sauce can vary in terms of heat, but when I said mild, it was pretty mild and I wish there was more of a kick. Overall, delicious spot and good food and service. It is a bit on the pricier end.
