Beef Pad See Ew
Nathan N.

My Thai (both locations) are my family's go-to Thai restaurants - and Thai is my brother's favorite food so that's gotta mean something, right?? 99% of the time we order carryout but we ate at the restaurant one time and the experience was just as enjoyable as ordering carryout. The interior is bright and has lots of green and blue reminiscent of a jungle; I like how unique it is compared to most darker-toned atmospheres. We ordered the Num Tok as an appetizer. I ordered beef but they brought out chicken, but we decided to just eat the chicken and order another beef. I didn't like either of them, they were very... salty and just not my sort of jam. My brother liked it a lot though. The four of us shared out main courses. We got beef pad ka tiem, beef pad see ew, shrimp mixed vegetable and chicken basil fried rice. All of the dishes were excellent! The portion sizes are very good for the price, which is a rare find for Thai restaurants. We usually end up having leftovers which makes for a great deal. The Pad See Ew is both me and my Dad's favorite, and for good reason. The sauce is delicious and they are very generous with the vegetables and meat - plus they use Chinese broccoli instead of normal broccoli to make it even better. My Thai is perfect for both special occasions and lazy nights in, it all depends on your mood and whether or not you want to eat inside.

I stopped by My Thai Place for lunch today. The restaurant is very cute, with polka dot wallpaper and chandeliers. The servers were very attentive. I ordered off of their lunch menu. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and fried wontons. I ordered a side of peanut sauce to go with the pad Thai. I thought the pad Thai was tasty, but the chicken was a little dry. I tend to order this dish with shrimp, so that is my preference, but that wasn't an option on the lunch menu. The wontons were super crispy and the sauce was sweet and a little tangy, but I wasn't so sure on the filling or what it was. I probably wouldn't order those again. All in all, I enjoyed my experience and I plan to come back and explore other menu items.

Chicken Pad Thai and Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice

Stumbled upon this place and we're so glad we did! I saw the pictures and reviews and everything looked great. We went on a Friday night and were seated quickly. It's a very cute spot, perfect for date night. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp. We also couldn't help but order a Thai Tea. The food came out pretty quickly and it was so delicious! The Pad Thai was flavorful and the Fried Rice was so buttery soft and tasty. They also give great portions for the price. The Thai Tea was a bit too watered down and milky for my taste but still not bad. Our waitress was also very nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back here! :)

Cozy atmosphere and chill out lounge jazz tunes in the background to set the vibe! Really delicious food too!

Great Thai place in centreville! I got the chicken pad Thai, Thai ice tea, and chicken satay. Everything came out great and delicious. Thai ice tea - one of the best I've had so far. It is not too sweet compare to other places I've been too. I love that you can get a free Thai tea if you check in on Yelp - a PLUS! Chicken satay - the chicken was great. I think it was coated in some curry flavoring which tasted great. The dish came with 2 sauces - a peanut sauce and a sweeter one that looks like water and sugar? I was not too clear what the white sauce was but it was sweet.. was not too big of a fan of that but the peanut sauce was great! Chicken pad Thai - great flavor and seasoning. The portion was very large (it was 2 meals for me) which i thought was a plus for the price. The sauce was a little more sweeter side than other pad Thai's I've had but overall still great. The restaurant does a great job maintaining social distancing and all the waiters wore masks. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to try a new Thai place!

Food is not good, not tasty. Every time I order something, it is too salty or too sweet. This place used to have decent food and good portion. I would not strongly recommend this place.

Came here on a cold winter day. Got warmed up by delicious chicken pad Thai. Prices are reasonable and portions are great. The place is beautifully decorated. Awesome for groups. I've ordered a takeout using yelp (Grubhub) twice so far. The food is delicious and the staff are cheerful whenever I pick up my items.

As soon as we got seated, we were offered water right away. While waiting for our orders, we were served a lot of banchan or appetizers. We ordered La Bboki for appetizer and Bulgogi Dol Sot Bibimbap (or bulgogi rice bowl) and Bi Bim Naeng Myun (or cold buckwheat noodles) for entrees. All the servings are huge - I honestly wished we skipped the appetizer. My bibimbap was delicious! The sauce wasn't as spicy as I expected which I loved. My date loved his order as well. The service was fantastic! The aunties were very hands-on with all the guests. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food they offer. My favorite thing is they don't just serve water, they serve bottomless hot tea! Yes the food is good, but how often do you get served unlimited tea? Appetizers are a bit on the pricey side ranging from $9 to $19, however the more expensive ones are large portion sizes. We couldn't finish both the appetizer and entree before getting full. Entrees are the typical prices between $15 to $20 with the special dishes being more than that. The 4 star is mostly because of the prices, but the experience was good. The service is great and everyone is very attentive and ready to recommend dishes and provide refills.

We ordered their popular spicy noodles with ground pork, pork and chive dumplings, chicken soup dumplings, and cucumber salad. Everything was a solid 10/10! The flavors were fantastic, the food came out quickly, and the service was great throughout most of our visit. My only disappointment came toward the end of the evening. About 20 minutes before closing, our waiter approached us and told us they were closed. While I completely understand wanting to wrap things up at the end of a shift, the restaurant wasn't officially closed yet, and there were other tables still dining that didn't appear to receive the same message. It felt a little abrupt, and I think the situation could have been handled more tactfully. That said, the food was excellent, and I would absolutely return. Just a small service detail that took away from an otherwise wonderful dining experience!

Ambiance is casual. It's a small restaurant at a strip mall (the restaurant's capacity is 85 people). This place always has customers but at peak dining times, there's a wait out the door- yes, even during summer sometimes, but especially when it's cold or raining. Their pho is spectacular, as is their vermicelli bowls, spring and summer rolls. Banh xeo is mid-- there's a specific spice that throws it off (maybe turmeric). I stopped by here recently and noticed they have new menus. Quick skim: pho prices haven't changed, but certain menu items have gone up about $1. If you're looking for a sweet treat after lunch, there's a Sweet Frog 2 doors down, Okaeri next door (Japanese soufflé pancakes and lattes), Paris Baguette a few yards away. The meat portion was generous, which I appreciated. We also ordered the cha gio, but it wasn't worth it in my opinion. It was pretty underwhelming and not something I'd order again. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're craving a decent bowl of pho, but there wasn't anything that really stood out enough to make me eager to return.

The from scratch broth, pleasant aroma from sour bamboo, crunchy string beans (wish there was an option to add!!) were phenomenal. Plus the tender yet collagenous beef shank cooked to perfection was phenomenal. Absolutely stick to your bones without the usual heaviness with big spicy noodle soups. No MSG headaches here, all the flavor is homegrown. The stinky tofu was also fried to perfection, with a side of Taiwanese kimchi. All the food was thoughtfully prepared and executed. We had our noodles fall apart and Yan corrected it immediately. She took the time to talk about her story of how she opened the restaurant originally to support her daughters college, her natural gift at cooking, and how her recipe was developed originally from a family one to what it is today.
