Thai chicken curry pastry- 1st time out they were frozen in the middle and lava on the outside. 2nd time around flavor was good, but was all potato's and no meat. Ordered the pork vermicelli bowl with spring rolls. Noodles were over cooked, sauce was just wrong. I've had vermicelli bowls many times and this places sauce is just flat out terrible. Small restaurant in a very weirdly organized strip mall. Our order was taken promptly. Having a different server bring one dish resulted in me getting my friend's vermicelli with grilled pork. I started to eat before we realized. I found the dish tasteless and the pork tough. When she got her order of that same dish, she found it bland as well. We both left over almost all of these dishes and didn't take any home. I was surprised that they didn't ask if it was ok given how much we left over. My original order of Thai tossed noodles (spicy) was just ok. I took the remainder home thinking I'd finish it at dinner, but it didn't smell all that appetizing so I ended up not eating it. Was disappointed that they actually made us (me) pay for the dish that I got that was supposed to be my friend's ($15). Every visit has had a prompt friendly greeting, quick taking of our order and hot food delivered to the table quickly. I find the chicken Pho a perfect dish for cold winter days. Plenty of chicken, sprouts and the typical add-ins. not salty, the broth has a gentle flavor. I ordered the P1 Combination Pho which was supposed to include meatballs and tripe, both were missing. However, there was enough other meat to make it satisfying. There is entirely too much salt in the broth. I usually consume all the broth, but I left most of mine because of the saltiness. The noodles were nice and the amount of basil, sprouts, etc. was generous. Every table was full with one very hard working girl in the dining area taking care business. The wait for food was acceptable giving that they appeared to gotten slammed all at once. I would go back, but would not go out of my way to do so. There are better choices in the area. read more

Conveniently located in downtown Haymarket this is a great option if you're looking for some hearty pho. I chose the vegetarian pho because I find it a better way to judge the flavor of the broth. The good: the serving size is enormous and they are generous with the fresh vegetables, both in variety and amount. Service was very fast and our server was so nice! The not so great: the broth was not the most flavorful. It took a fair amount of doctoring with sauces to make it good - even then it wasn't good enough to make me want to finish it off once the veg and noodles were gone. I think next time I'll be trying a chicken or beef version, which hopefully will have better broth. The ambiance: It's a small place, very clean, with less than a dozen tables, mostly 4-tops. Stopped in to try out Pho Thai 66 this evening in downtown Haymarket, VA. Apparently they've been open for about a week - but one cannot tell that easily from the road - as they currently do not have an "Open" sign. Most of the time - when driving by - the sunlight reflects off the front windows - obscuring the inside... Upon entering - you will note it's a small place. There are 6 tables total - so they'll be doing a lot of to go orders. You place your order at the counter and pay for your food ahead of time. I selected the Summer Rolls with shrimp - and Pho Ga - and a glass of water. Paid with Apple Pay. The Summer Rolls came out first. I added a bit of Sriracha to the Peanut sauce to enhance the sauce a bit. Summer Rolls were tasty. The Pho Ga came out next. The broth was steaming and aromatic. Glad to see it is a real chicken broth. Nice flavor. After tasting the broth - I added all of the accoutrements: Bean sprouts, Basil, Jalapeños, and a squeeze of Lime. I feel they skimped a bit on the quantity of Bean Sprouts. Next time I will request more. The noodles were a tad on the clumped together side. Finally got a chance to visit this place and glad we did! We usually get pho in Centreville but jumped at a chance to try pho closer to home. This place is small but inviting, clean and has friendly staff. The chicken broth was rich and flavorful and the portion sizes, which I've seen complains about on here, seemed pretty standard. Just received my order and it was awful!! I ordered 3 items: 1.The pho combo was so salty and tasted like they just open a canned pho broth and heat it up. The meats came with the pho was old and has funky smell. I ended up throwing the bad meat away. And this was almost $17. 2. For almost $18, the vermicelli grilled beef barely had any meat and the egg roll is NOTHING like a Vietnamese egg roll. Their egg roll is filled with cabbage and super soggy. And the fish sauce is SALTY!! it's no supposed to be like this. The sauce is supposed to be well balanced between sweetness and tanginess. Not pure undiluted fish sauce plus a pinch of vinegar 3. I ordered the rainbow cake and they sent me their fried banana thingy... which was oily, stale and doesn't have much flavor. I had to call them back to ask why they sent me the wrong item. They claimed that they ran out of the cake and couldn't call me so they substituted with this yucky fried banana. How could they not call me or get in touch with me?!! I had to confirm my phone number upon ordering online. This is unbelievable. Overall, foods SUCKS, service SUCKS!! The foods look NOTHING like their photos. What a scam! If you CANNOT make proper foods, please don't run a restaurant and charge an arm and a leg without delivering the value that matches the price you are charging. THIS IS A DISGRACE TO VIET FOODS. Small but good. The service was great even with it being just the one server dealing with takeout, and waiting all the tables. It was lunch time so it stayed a steady stream of people while I was there. The food was tasty and had a lot more meat in it than I expected. I got the pho combination with extra bean sprouts and then midway through I ordered the spring rolls. Honestly I wasnt expecting much, but after tasting the pho, I figured I had to try at least one more thing. The spring rolls were a pleasant surprise as well. Crispy to perfection, but not thick, so they were almost.... airy? I dont know how to describe it but they were just really good. The price was great too! I gave a larger tip than I normally would have because they didnt charge me for my extra bean sprouts. We've been desperately needing a Pho place in the area! I do not enjoy driving from Warrenton to Manassas or Centreville for Pho, and having a location close by has been great! I've now visited this location 3 separate times. The food and service have always been great. I normally order the summer rolls, the vegetable spring rolls, and the brisket Pho. The food has been consistently great. I think it would be unfair to judge if this is the BEST pho someone has had. Reading the reviews left me a little disappointed. Dined in for lunch. Service was very friendly and restaurant clean. If you're familiar with authentic vietnamese or Thai food, most likely will not be impressed. Portion size seemed a bit small and prices were on the higher side. Had the pork banh mi and sticky rice dessert for takeout just now. Place was packed but they still got my order out pretty fast. The banh mi was amazing and I am really excited to have a good place nearby now. Sticky rice was definitely on point and wrapped in banana leaves in the traditional way. I was a bit wary of this place given other Yelp reviews but I figured i'd give it a shot. I stopped in for lunch just after 11 AM on a Sunday and while the door was open, the host informed me that they didn't open until 11:30. She invited me to sit at a table and offered to serve me early. The restaurant was clean with nice decor. I ordered the Pho with eye round, which was served quickly, along with the usual accompaniments. The Pho was very tasty though a bit salty. It had strong hints of cinammon and overall had a fantastic flavor profile. The beef was a bit thicker than Pho Saigon in Manassas, which is my usual go-to. I'd compare it more to Pho Duong in Centreville. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to try other menu items. Service was prompt and friendly, and by the time I left, the restaurant was filling up. Overall verdict is that this was very good. I plan to return and to also try some of the other menu items including the Banh Mi sandwiches. read more

Typically this is a big red flag when an Asian restaurant is trying to do it all or identity crisis as I like to call it. This is a follow up review. Dined in recently. Pho was good, service was great. Most pho places do not follow after receiving your order. I was offered drink refills 3 times which is a rarity in most pho places. Table, restaurant, and bathrooms were all clean. I am very happy to see Haymarket has a new Pho restaurant, the 1st of its kind! I gave it a try and found it to be OK, they may improve and I will give it a try again in a few weeks. The ordering process was simple enough but I had to tell the cashier 3 times I wanted Pho #1 and she kept saying Pho #2, she appeared to be very nervous, kid of overwhelmed because the restaurant was filled, but certainly nervous. I also ordered the Pork Ban Mi, both items were good, the Pho was very tasty, but the noodles were one big clump, as a seasoned Pho customer I knew how to loosen up the clump and get to my bowl of soup! I had to ask for basil, sprouts, lime and jalapenos, when I asked for it she was surprised and apologized for the oversight. I was sitting at a table for 4, there are only two, 2-person tables, there appears to be enough room for more tables, but there maybe a limit per code or they choose to only fewer tables. I saw a lot of groups of 3-4 come in look around and leave either due to the line at the register or because there were no seats. I quickly finished my food and left to open a table for the long line at the register. The Ban Mi was very tasty but mostly vegetables, which were good, but there was very little protein in the sandwich, the roll was good, krusty nice texture, soft interior, excellent for Ban Mi. The condiment bottles at the table were messy, not well maintained like other Pho restaurants I go to in Manassas, Chantilly and Centreville. Not a big factor, but one that counts when I compare my Pho experiences. There is nothing worse than sitting at a table that is full of splattered Hoisin and Siracha on the wall/windows which tells me they don't pay attention to cleaning the customer eating areas. Based on my observations, I hope they get their feet under themselves and improve in the areas I touched on, overall the food was good and makes for a good option to satisfy my "Chopstick fix" close to home than Manassas. I will update my review after my net visit to Pho Thai 66. read more
