I made an appt. in a couple of days and the team was so nice and lively to work with. I appreciate all of the state of the art equipment they had to check my changing vision. Afterwards it was manually checked by the Dr S. Who was so informative! She sent t Me to a retinal specialist who will check my retina health further. I had such a good experience that I brought my old fav eyewear to get updated with progressives, transitions, plain readers and with tint. Boy did I run up a Bill$$! After I donated 2 of my old prescription glasses to them, (getting sent to third world countries to assist in ppls who can't afford new lens) I then treated my self to a new frame and a plain pair or sunglasses . I am stoked that my eyewear will be updated and I'll have plenty for styles old and new to be whatever character I choose for that day ! Thank you Optique for being so accommodating! You are worth every penny I invested in my eyewear and prescriptions ! Best Anw

They charged me $1245.00 with insurance for a new pair of frames, lenses, and computer lenses for frames I already had. That manager took 1 1/2 hrs to input my prescription. I think he screwed the price and the prescription. Then I pick them up and I see better out of my old glasses than the expensive ones. Now, I have to go pick the glasses up make an appointment with my eye Dr. and then take them back. This has been a bunch of time and gas....oh and by the way I asked for my money back to go elsewhere...NOPE. DO NOT EVER GO THERE WITH THIS NEW MANAGEMENT, he's an ass.

I was met by a Hispanic man whose attitude was extremely off-putting, enough to send me walking, which has never happened to me before. I was in professional sales for 30+ years, and I can't believe what retail sales have stooped to. I would fire him in a nanosecond. I went in there believing this was a good, family-owned establishment, with great reviews, only to be met with someone who really shouldn't be there - he had no interest in helping, did not smile one single time. He was cold, aloof, and rude. When I told him I was leaving and WHY I was leaving, he didn't blink an eye - he was completely fine with that. Unreal. Sickening actually. Don't waste your time or energy here. Save yourself some stress and a headache. Find another place, you'll be glad you did. PS. Read the "Negative Reviews" before you decide on this place. $268.00 for a contact lens exam…read more That is not a medical bill. That is a ransom note written in optometry ink. Two hundred and sixty-five dollars to look into my skull windows and tell me what shape of plastic disc belongs on my eyeballs. I did not walk into your office expecting a luxury spa treatment for my corneas. I expected a routine contact lens exam -- the same basic exercise I have had before, including through this same business, at roughly a quarter of the price. So when the bill came back at $268, I had the distinct feeling of being mugged in broad daylight by a phoropter. If this exam was going to cost $268, that number should have been made clear before the appointment began. Not whispered through paperwork. Not hidden in a fog of billing codes. Not revealed at the end like the final twist in a bad carnival scam. It should have been stated plainly, directly, and unmistakably: "Before we begin, this contact lens exam will cost $268." Had I heard that sentence, I would have stood up, thanked everyone for their time, and walked directly out the door in search of a business operating somewhere closer to reality. This charge is outrageous. It is excessive, poorly disclosed, and completely unacceptable. No reasonable person would expect a routine contact lens exam to cost $268 unless that price was made brutally clear in advance. I am asking you to review this charge and provide a fair adjustment or refund. And I want to be very clear about what happens if this is brushed off. I will not slink away quietly and absorb this nonsense like a beaten insurance animal. I will share an accurate account of this experience everywhere people look before choosing an eye care provider -- Google, Yelp, Facebook, LinkedIn, neighborhood groups, local forums, and any other digital town square where people still value being warned before they are financially body-slammed over an eye exam. Call it social media shaming if you want. I call it consumer hygiene. I will not lie. I will not exaggerate. I will not invent a single detail. I will simply tell people the truth: I was charged $268 for a contact lens exam, the price was not made clear enough before the appointment, my prior exam through the same business was roughly a quarter of that amount, and I would never have agreed to proceed had I known the cost. This is exactly the kind of customer experience that deserves sunlight, noise, and a long paper trail. Review the charge. Correct it. Explain how a contact lens exam became a $268 ambush.

Visiting Dr. Tran has improved my life ten-fold. Going in, I knew I had a condition where my eyes…read moredon't work together which causes annoying headaches after a long day of working at a screen. I was told by a previous doctor that vision therapy classes were the only way to help my condition and I did not have great success keeping frequent appointments that were expensive and didn't really work for me. I was blown away when Dr. Tran not only knew exactly what condition I had (convergence insufficiency), but told me about a new technology in glasses that could help me INSTANTLY with no classes. She got me fitted for Neurolens glasses and I will never go back to anything else. These glasses have prism technology that focuses both eyes on the same point so that they can work together - no more losing my place every time I look from one screen to the other. No more re-reading paragraphs in books because I lose my place every 2 minutes. And most importantly - I've had these glasses for over a year and NO MORE HEADACHES after working at my computer all day! I do research and data analysis for a living so being able to sit and read at my computer is a must. My only complaint is that now I get fewer steps in because I can sit and focus on my work and don't feel the urge to get up 100 times (yes vision issues can share a lot of the same symptoms as ADHD and for some reason we do zero vision testing in schools - just eye sight - I have 20/20 corrected eyesight in each eye, but my vision issue -eyes not working together- would have never been picked up in a routine eye exam). Sadly, like many things that work and actually make us feel better - insurance does not yet cover effective treatment for vision issues like convergence insufficiency to include Neurolens. However, these glasses were worth every penny. HSA money can also be used to cover these, which is incredibly helpful. I am eternally grateful to have met Dr. Tran. I've never met anyone more knowledgeable on vision issues and she is 100% the kindest doctor. She never appears to be in a rush and actually listens to what you say. She takes the time to explain everything, which a nerd like me appreciates. I am so thankful that she chooses to work in a practice that can offer Neurolens and that she made this technology available to me. Game changer!

I thought Texan Eye care did a thorough job, but Look+See exceeded my expectations. Being equipped with the latest technology, they conducted several eye scans as well as eye tests and I felt comfortable with every member I engaged with. Dr. Bailey was easy to talk to and I appreciated that he talked to me in layman's terms. Shoutout to Amy and Comet at the front desk. The office manager, Rubi is so sweet and her customer service is excellent. Speaking of excellent customer service, April is stellar! She helped me with insurance processing, picking out just the right frames, and getting me all the bells and whistles without any hardcore upselling (I despise going to places for an eye exam where they make you feel almost forced to buy frames from them). **Updated Review** I…read morehave been a patient here for many years back when it was Lone Star Eye, but since the transition to MyEyeDr., the service has completely plummeted. I had my annual eye exam here on July 9 and placed my contact lens order right there in the office. During that visit, I explicitly told the staff that I needed these lenses before an upcoming business trip. It has now been nearly three weeks, and my order was completely lost in transit. What makes this unacceptable is that nobody bothered to notify me. I only found out after repeatedly calling the office myself to chase down updates. They appear to only have one or two people staffed at the front desk, which is clearly causing a massive administrative bottleneck. I do not know if the issue is a lack of training or a total breakdown in their new corporate systems, but leaving a long-term patient stranded without vital corrective lenses right before a work trip is a massive failure. If you value communication, reliable ordering, and basic customer service, look elsewhere in Austin. The current management is dropping the ball.

I'm also impressed that the Wongs have chosen to share their expertise by endowing an eye institute at the University of Texas at Austin. My most recent personal experience with Austin Eye was surgery for lens replacement. While some have derided the facility on Bee Caves Rd as factory-like, I would counter that with the fact that consistent good practices yield consistently good results. I felt well cared for throughout the process, and the results (my excellent recovery and visual acuity) speak for themselves. In the event there had been any problems, I was given Dr. Wong's direct cell number and email. The Austin Eye facility is beautiful, modern, and well-maintained.
