I visited on Thanksgiving, and the food and service were both fantastic. A part of me wants to reduce the stars due to the combative, unhelpful hosts, but I am going to give them a little grace even though it did impact my overall experience. In my review notes, I requested a standard-level table away from the door. When we arrived, they were backed up so we had a bit of a wait. When we were seated, they placed us at the table closest to the door. I realized that I could feel the draft pretty strongly, so I *nicely* asked if we could move, and they replied that we would have to wait two hours to move and that they could've sat us immediately had I not requested a standard-level table. (Which I did for my mom, who is elderly.) A two-top sat down in the same row of tables just farther from the door directly after us, so I'm unsure why they couldn't have switched us. As such, I bundled up and dealt with it. The server knew how cold we were, and he said he actually felt bad because he'd get "relief" coming to our table, as it was significantly colder than the rest of the restaurant. With all that said, despite being frigid and having to dine with a coat on, the food was incredible. I've had several Thanksgivings out in recent years, and this one was my favorite. They had a special buffet in addition to their regular food. And the meats that came around were next level. I loved the spicy sirloin especially. But I went here to take my mom for mother's day dinner and I always wanted to try out this place because I heard alot of good things about it. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to take pictures of the food but here's my thoughts: Food: The main attraction was the meat it surpassed my expectations but before I discuss that, I would like to talk about the foods from the salad bar. Everything was pretty delicious, specifically the scalloped potatoes and the salmon which were both seasoned well. Now the meat, now I typically don't eat medium rare meats but it was cooked to perfection and it was juicy and savory in my mouth. My personal favorites are the BBQ chicken, Pork, Rib and the Sirloin. (10/10) Service: The servers were pretty friendly and on top of things especially for a place that is often packed on special occasions. However the servers who delivered us the meat, they were quick and very considerate on giving me the meat. (9.5/10) Interior: The inside looked like something from a PF Changs with the chandeliers and the nice looking red walls as well as an organized salad bar. But it's no PF Changs and this place looks beautiful than Changs. The salad bar has so many fun and unique options, I basically got a charcuterie board from it. The meats are fun and I love how they walk around and serve them all at random. Overall the food was fantastic! However, We were disappointed in the lack of urgency from our waiter. I ordered a glass of wine to have with all the delicious meat, but it took over 30 minutes. We also ordered friend bananas, but the waiter forgot. It took us a while to flag him down for our check. I'd still recommend going for the meal-just don't set your expectations too high for the turn around time on drinks or having your waiter's attention. We hadn't had a chance to come back here in years so we thought we'd have a date night. My husband and I arrived around 4pm hoping to be early birds but there were already a bunch of people waiting. With it just being the two of us, they were able to fit us in the back. They brought out bread and such for the table but didn't take our drunk order for 20 min. We had already made it to the food bar and eaten a bit. I requested a couple glasses of cabernet. Our server came back with one glass. I explained I had asked for two so he went and got another. We enjoyed most of what we tried from the food bar but stayed away for a few things because not all had labels. I had a separate plate for my meat as I didn't want to mix it all so when I was done with the food bar plate I had to stop someone to ask for it to be taken or to show me if there was an area I should put it. Then was waiting for the meat. Being in the back meant we could see all the meat we wanted but it barely made it to us and when it did they constantly just carved the outside bark when I told them I preferred the red meat. Only one person asked if we were waiting on something particular, and it was a carver not our server. I then ordered another drink figuring we would be there awhile. About a half hour later the server asked us if we needed anything, I remined him I had ordered a drink. When I finally got the drink it was wrong but I didn't bother to say anything because I was so frustrated. Things I learned this time around that will probably keep us from coming back: If you don't have a group, you don't get attention and it's not worth it. There should either be a place to put unwanted dishes or the servers should ask if they can get anything out of the way when they check on the table and they should never leave an empty glass on the table when they have brought you a new drink. A solid 3.5 rounded up. I'm sure you all know the deal: Unlimited grilled meats, a salad bar, and a selection of hot sides. I hadn't been here in about 10 years so I forgot what the food was like. The salad bar was clean and well-stocked with a good variety of fresh selections. I'm not huge on salads, but I thoroughly enjoyed mine since they have flavorful, well-seasoned options like couscous, pico de gallo, etc. The area with the hot sides left much to be desired. The potatoes au gratin were watery and gross, but I enjoyed the rice and black beans. I guess those are hard to mess up. The table sides (mashed potatoes, fries, and Brazilian cheese bread) were delicious. The bananas were not good. They were under ripe and couldn't be saved by the cinnamon sugar coating. The main attraction - the meats - were on point. Maybe I missed it on the salad bar or maybe they don't have it, but some chimichurri or other sauces would've been a nice accompaniment to the steaks. Our server asked about the temperature at which we liked our meats cooked, but that was a pointless inquiry since we were offered everything from rare to well done throughout the whole night. It would be nice if they had a placard for patrons to place on the table to indicate preferred meat temps. Also, our server was very present and attentive in the beginning but disappeared for awhile which was frustrating since we wanted to order more drinks. I wish he would've replaced our bone-laden plates with clean ones much earlier during our dinner. The wine options were scarce and I didn't find the cocktails to be very exciting, but I ordered one of my signatures, a lemon drop martini, and it was perfect. Random observation, but the restaurant is decorated with many floor-length mirrors, and they were impeccably clean to the point you felt like you could walk right through. We love coming here! Always too much food. Love the flank steak. Lamb chops are reasonably priced as an extra (although the manager did tell us the wrong number of chops between a half and full rack). Everyone always enjoys their meals. A little pricy if you aren't into red meat. Would be nice if they had a cheaper option for people who just want chicken like some of the other Brazilian steakhouses. Service was a little slow to start but our server was new and once she made it to our table she did an excellent job. It was very warm inside. This restaurant definitely could be a nice place for a date but I also noticed quite a few families. I came here just for the salad bar. It was pretty good. There were quite a few options of cheese and other items. I ordered the salad bar which came with soup (lobster bisque) they also had some kind of potato soup too but I didn't try it. First time eating here! Gotta say it was amazing. We came for the Thanksgiving Day Experience and can honestly say we were not disappointed. The Turkey was moist and au gratin potatoes were amazing! Unlimited food from a salad/side bar with wait staff dressed up carrying flame broiled meats on sword skewers (Espetos Brasileiros). This location was comfortable as the tables are spaced nicely with a nice calming atmosphere. Our waiter was nice, polite and attentive to our needs. The bathrooms are clean and there's plenty of parking in the mall's parking lot. One ding on our dinner experience was that some meats were a bit chewy, definitely not prime meat. So. Much. Food. First, I was there on a Monday night and it was empty. Just a few other tables of diners. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. Kept drinks full and continued to check in to see if we needed anything. The salad bar is large. But don't fill up on it! There were lettuces, vegetables (green beans, asparagus, all cold), different charcuterie items, cheeses, salads (except: bean salad). There is also a hot bar. I don't remember everything that was there, but the mushrooms were VERY good!! They also have a signature soup, but I did not try that. I was saving my room for the meat! Do make a note that the chimichurri is very spicy. I tried it twice bc I normally love chimichurri, but it made me cough from the spice both times I tried it. If you haven't been here, this is meat-a-palooza. You have a little coaster that is red on one side and green on the other. When you have the green side up the meat handlers will come by with the huge skewers of meat to slice some for you. When you put the coaster to red they aren't supposed to come by; however they kept coming. I don't understand how they could see the coasters and when you are with a group there is always someone with a green coaster. So many meat options. I kept mostly to the steaks. I did try the ribs and they were ok, but not the best and definitely not as good as the beef. Seriously some delicious beef options. The picachu (I know that's wrong but don't remember what it's called) was soooooooooo good. Definitely give it a try. Heard from my friends that the chicken wasn't that good. I didn't try it. I also did not try the sausage that they seem to push the hardest. Also note, they will bring some sides to the table. Mashed potatoes, fries, glazed banana and bread. I didn't try any of it. I did have dessert. The chocolate mousse cake was very good. My friend really enjoyed the crème brûlée, someone tried the carrot cake and said it was ok. I would go back. Too bad the meats were mostly cooked medium well to well done, which is a huge no-no in my opinion for steak, especially when we told the staff that we wanted our meat medium rare. The picanha, for instance, was overcooked and unpleasantly dry and chewy, and the chicken was so dry that I opted to skip them altogether. The salad bar was decent and fresh, but didn't offer as much variety as I would have liked. There was plenty of meat but the disappointment was the food was supposed to be medium rare and I found a lot of it a little overcooked. I also thought the sides at lunch were only OK. Far more reliable than its neighbor Fogo De Chao. I have never had a bad experience here. The salad and charcuterie bar is incredible. The meats are always well seasoned and perfectly medium rare. The service is always very attentive and kind. I love their sides as well, especially the mashed potatoes. We had a reservation and waited about 5 minutes to be seated and weren't able to get a booth like my boyfriend requested. Once seated, I felt the tables on the floor were seated too close to others. The spicy sirloin, the sausage, and the beef ribs were my favorites off the grill. They also had a lobster bisque at the salad bar which I enjoyed. One thing that was different was we were given sides with the meal (French fries, fried banana, and mashed potatoes). The moscato was great as was the caipirhina. My boyfriend did have to send back his Margarita but other than that everything was great. The Brazilian cheesecake is amazing and also dessert is the only thing leftover you can take out the restaurant. This restaurant did not disappoint me at all. I only visited Texas de Brazil once back in 2018. My first experience wasn't the best because I was recovering from surgery. Fast forward to 6 years later and I had to give it another shot. Boy oh boy I have been missing out on the flavors! The beef ribs, smoked salmon, lamb, and bacon wrapped chicken were my favorites. Daisy was the host and she did her job very well. Daisy made sure they came around with our favorite choices of meat. The seating is very comfortable and plenty of parking outside as well. The reservation was last minute and we were accommodated at the last minute...especially on a Saturday. I like the salad bar with different options of cold and hot food items. I didn't try any alcoholic beverages but from what I saw other people were enjoying them. The atmosphere was welcoming and the bar area had seating for all the football watchers as well. The atmosphere is far the best I've been to. The other two restaurants are nowhere near as good as Texas de Brazil. I have found my favorite place and I will be back soon! read more

My husband has raved about Texas de Brazil for as long as I've known him, though I'd never been. I've learned to manage my expectations, because what one person loves another might think is just okay. This time, this was not the case. Off the bat, I appreciated the formality of the host stand (former host here.) We were a little early and were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. The host came to escort us to her table before the drinks were ready (just a water and diet coke), so we took them to our table. Then we headed to the salad bar, which was like heaven for me. I had to get double servings of the Israeli couscous and the taboulleh. I know it's not wise to fill up on salad bar, given the stars of the show would soon arrive at our table, but do what makes you happy. Came back to the table and nibbled at the salad bar items as the meats started to drop by. If I had to rank them I'd go ribeye, filet mignon, picanha, flank steak, & pork. (I didn't have the chicken or sausages, nor the room to fit them. Prioritized the space in my belly for steak.) Mashed potatoes, fries and fried bananas were brought by the table. The server brought out more bananas for us that were hot and delicious. The fries were cold, but honestly, ain't nobody coming here for the fries. Overall, we enjoyed our meals very much. We were disappointed when the servers kept passing by our table with no service and then constantly showed up with well done meats when we specifically requested medium rear. Once the correctly cooked meat arrived I was surprised and disappointed by the level of seasoning (lack thereof) and the way the meat was grilled. They don't have good temp regulation on their grill and the outside is charred while the inside is under or over done; nothing in between. As an avid chef and BBQ connoisseur, the combination of poorly prepared food and a complete lack of attention was disappointing. It doesn't matter if all the customers in Richmond like well burnt! What a wonderful evening! We arrived at 4:10 for dinner, was provided a 15 min wait estimate but only waited 5 minutes. Briana was our waitress and provided phenomenal service, including being mindful of our 1 year old who attended dinner with us, providing a plate and water for her without us asking or prompting. For sides they give you Brazilian cheese bread, mashed potatoes, fries and plantain bananas in a brown sugar glaze. For desert I had the New York cheese cake. Out of everything the Brazilian cheese bread and the plantains are my favorite here. This was all you can eat for $53 a person. Our waiter was alright, he was lacking in personality. But the guys going around cutting the meat for you was awesome! The women's bathroom was very dark and I couldn't hang my purse in the stall as the purse hook was literally 7 feet high. Excellent service as always at Texas de Brazil. My colleague and I decided that we'd earned a good meal as there was success today with the customer. Warmly greeted at the hostess stand and brought to our table past the salad bar, which was pointed out. Our waiter was at the table almost immediately to take drinks orders and let us know that we could start when we were ready. Yes, people say that you should skip the salad bar and save room for the meats. Those people are wrong. There's some amazing and delicious stuff here. Fresh mozzarella, smoked salmon, hearts of palm, manchego cheese, so much more. Fresh lobster bisque! Tip: Get yourself a small pot of blue cheese which goes well with the steak. Also, get some mint sauce that goes really well with the lamb. Back at the table, we flipped from red to green and the meat started. Lots of great stuff including sirloin steak, filet mignon wrapped in bacon, flank steak, lamb chops (I may have gone a little nuts on these), leg of lamb (more, please!) and even sausages. The only dud the whole night was the chicken in parmesan cheese that neither of us enjoyed. It's really easy to stick with a keto diet here for sure. They need to improve on "Not Ignoring a customer." I was by-passed by this short manager with Grey hair wearing sports jacket, he saw me and just walked passed me then proceeded to stop and greeted the three tables next to me to see if "they're ok and how was everything."
