This is what they give you when you order a full menu option... green means keep the meat coming!

Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so without further explanation let's begin!. We had a 1:00 pm reservation here on Sunday to cap off a fun filled enjoyable weekend! We walked in and were seated immediately. We had a waitress ask us and give a rundown of the food options and menu details... throughout our experience we had a number of different employees come to our table and ask were there any thing we needed or anything in particular we were waiting on as far as the different meats or anything we needed. The service was impeccable and the food options were unlimited. They have plenty of dine in seating and a bar area as well... I would definitely recommend and return to this establishment and if you're into to different food options then this may be a place to explore if you haven't already been!.

Very nice and service was immaculate. We had reservations for 6p to celebrate my birthday. Loved the meat sampling experience. The carmel charbroiled cheesecake was amazing, topped with fruit sauce. Had to flip my card to red because I got full super quickly. We definitely got our bang for buck. Food was fresh and delicious. Clean bathrooms are always a plus as well. Loved the ambiance, maybe I'm a tad biased because we got an entire private room to ourselves LOVED IT!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

5 stars! What an amazing experience! We had lunch here yesterday with a group of friends, and everything was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and truly unforgettable. Kevin, the bartenders, and the restaurant manager were all outstanding -- professional, friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The service was top-notch in every way, and the atmosphere was warm, lively, and enjoyable. This place exceeded all our expectations. We will definitely be coming back many, many times. Without a doubt, this will be a must-stop every time we are in Richmond!

I was beyond excited to eat here for Mother's Day for the first time. I had a reservation but still waited about 30 minutes to be seated. It really didn't bother me because I can wait for good food. But there was no good food. I was there for two full hours and was almost begging for the check. Service did not exist. My seat was missing a fork and so I waited, asked multiple staff, and waited more for a fork as everyone around me ate and as my plate became full of food. I ordered a glass of wine in the very beginning only to be told an hour later, they were out. Why could nobody tell me the drink I kept waiting on wasn't available? By that time, meat stopped coming to our table and when I looked around there was no meat in our section of the restaurant. We were never offered bread until we asked over an hour into the meal. The part I was most looking forward to was the meat. It was so dry and overcooked, I had to chew and keep chewing and keep chewing. The only edible meat was the bacon wrapped chicken. At the end of the wait, my friend and I said "let's just order a dessert to use up the gift cards because we will not be coming back". My entire experience was summed up as "Texas de Brazil would never...."

Once again the Bar Fogo Event didn't disappoint. Food was delicious and service was outstanding!

The four-course Vik wine dinner at Fogo de Chão was phenomenal and more than worth it! From the food to the wine pairings to the service -- an elevated without over-the-top experience. Plus a huge a shoutout to the amazing staff Frankie, Kevin, Santiago, Sofia, Rachel and many more wonderful humans. The night tasting started off with creamy sweet corn chowder, and a tomato and burrata salad - burrata that was absolutely refreshing. The meal was paired with a rosé, which was light and flavorful. Then came the picanha (one of my favorite meats), served with fried polenta (like fried), queso frito, and caramelized bananas. The red wine that came with it (2021 Vik Milla Cala) was smooth and rich. While the sides on this wear my least favorite (because I don't like polenta or bananas) the picanha was so out of this world I had two pieces. The lamb chops were juicy accompanied with the chiles toreados, which were too spicy for me. By the time the Wagyu New York Strip came out with garlic mashed potatoes and the Vik red blend, I was almost full, but it's waygu so I managed to have two thinly sliced strips. I MADE room for the warm berry bread pudding, vanilla ice cream, and it was absolutely worth it! If you ever get the chance to do one of these wine dinners, don't think twice. It's worth every single penny.

I am usually a Texas de Brazil girly but my hubby decided to switch it up for my Birthday and he brought me here instead. One of my favorite things about a Brazilian steakhouse is the salad bar and this salad bar was so underwhelming, the food there didn't taste fresh and was picked over. The meats however were excellent and the lobster tail was cooked to perfection. Not a terrible experience but I will stick to Texas de Brazil from now on.

Amazing good, excellent service and very nice atmosphere. We were seated right away and given a rundown of the menu we chose the indulgent as it had more options and a choice of four separate items including a lobster tail. The meats all came out cooked perfectly. Lots of choices on the salad bar. As we came on a Sunday they also had a waffle and omelet bar as well. We will return.

This was my first time at any Fogo de Chão but I've been to other Brazilian steakhouses (US & Rio). My friend shared a screenshot about their national caipirinha day celebration special and I made a reservation immediately. For $29/pp we got 2 caipirinhas and delicious bar bites. From making the reservation the service was great; we had to arrive late and the note was made and we had no issues. Upon arrival we were seated promptly and Kevin and Santiago took great care of us. Our waters were constantly filled and they along with the other servers came around often with the bar bites. I wish I would've taken pictures of everything but the food was delicious. The empanadas and bacon wrapped chicken were my favorite. The chicken was cooked perfectly, so moist and flavorful. In addition to what's pictured we also enjoyed the chicken sliders, bacon wrapped steak, candied bacon, and the braised beef crostini. If you've had a caipirinha then you know they're delicious and the cachaça is usually strong buttt that's how we like them. I think of the stateside steak houses Fogo's caipirinha's are the best. Hopefully they're regularly this good. The passion fruit was my favorite followed by the strawberry hibiscus. The restaurant itself is nice and inviting. To the right of the lobby was the main dining area and it was pretty full. I definitely plan to return for another meal or event !

We went to Fogo de Chão in Short Pump for a large birthday celebration, and the atmosphere was beautiful and inviting. The restaurant itself is stunning. The lighting, layout, and energy of the space really set the tone for a special occasion. It definitely feels upscale and festive. Our servers, Kevin and Tina, were super attentive, friendly, and kept everything flowing smoothly for our large group. Let's talk food. The meat, which is the star of the show here, was just okay. While they had a variety of cuts, the quality wasn't what I expected for a $98 per person experience. Some cuts were dry, and overall, the seasoning was lacking. I was hoping for more flavor and better tenderness. They stayed true to Brazilian-style churrasco, but I would've liked more variety. The salad bar was fresh and had a decent variety, but it could've used more warm dishes. Most of the options were cold, and it left me wanting something heartier to pair with the meat. I would have wanted more variety there as well. Dessert, on the other hand, was incredible. The cheesecake was hands-down the best part of the meal... rich, creamy, and beautifully presented. Definitely worth saving room for. Drinks were incredible as well. I recommend the $10 strawberry drink. All in all, we had a great time thanks to the company and the service, but the food felt more average than exceptional. For $98 a head, I expected more in both variety and quality. Great ambiance, great people, stellar service but the food didn't quite live up to the price tag.

The salad bar was decent, though I wish there were more options. The meats, however, were flavorful and cooked exactly how I wanted. The highlights of the night were definitely the picanha and the lamb chops -- both were excellent. The top sirloin was okay but could use a bit more flavor compared to the others. Service really stood out. They were kind enough to accommodate a group of 23 people, including 5 kids, without a reservation, which we truly appreciated. Our server was very attentive and patient, and the staff delivering the meats were quick and extremely accommodating. They happily gave us extra slices when we asked, and sometimes they came by so fast we could barely keep up! Overall, I highly recommend this steakhouse. It's better than other Brazilian steakhouses we've tried and definitely worth the trip to Richmond. We'll absolutely be back!

Let me start by saying we've tried Texas de Brazil and Fogo de Chao (Fogo de Chao in Short Pump,…read moreBaltimore and Tyson's Corner and Texas de Brazil in Short Pump), and we now have a new favorite in Rio Brazil Steakhouse, which we visited on Mother's Day. All three have good food, but here is what sets Rio Brazil Steakhouse apart from the rest. The lighting in the restaurant is a little brighter but not too bright. You can actually see what you're getting and it feels more welcoming. You aren't dining in the dark. The staff are friendly and more personable. Our server was wonderfully attentive but not overbearing and made sure we received our meats cooked the way we preferred (and that we got to try the fried cheese, which was wonderful). He also made recommendations for drinks and desserts, which were spot on. The gauchos made their rounds with the different types of meats quite quickly; we didn't have to sit there and wait with nothing on our plates for any amount of time whatsoever. Rio offered more selections on their hot, side dish bar than the other two, which were tasty and kept at the right temperature - I recommend the potatoes au gratin, but that's my personal preference. The cold bar had a nice selection as well, which made it really hard not to eat too much before the main course. The Brazilian vinaigrette did not disappoint and is something I always seek out, as I can only find it at Brazilian steakhouses. The meats were seasoned well and we were particularly impressed with the chicken, as it was so tender and juicy, and the garlic sirloin, as the flavor was amazing and the meat very tender. We enjoyed all of the meats we tried, and I believe that, between the two of us, we tried all that were circulating. Then there were the desserts. Rio is the only one that I've seen that had flan in a long time, and theirs is even better than the flans I've tried that friends and family have made (sorry all my Filipino friends and family, yours is fantastic and I love yours, as well). I don't know what they did differently, but by all means, please keep doing it. Our server recommended the Brazilian Cheesecake for my s/o, and he absolutely loved it. It was like a New York cheesecake, but with caramel and Brazilian nuts on the top and fudge in the middle, and with a graham cracker crust. Wait, did I mention the red wine sangria? I knew I forgot something. I decided that it would be alright to have one, even though it was early in the day, since it was Mother's Day. It had a very nice flavor, and had just the right amount of fresh, diced fruits. I'm sure there's probably something else I'm forgetting, so I think we'll have to go back soon. It was all in all a memorable experience and I highly recommend.

The décor and dining rooms are nicely setup, modern, and somewhat cozy, as they have multiple dining rooms. Table setting was nice, but they didn't do a very good job replacing my silver as I used it and moved on to the next course... other than this, service was great! Menu is pretty nice and it's loaded with many of the popular chophouse items. They even have a nice selection of salads with discounts if bought with an entrée. We started with their New Orleans style BBQ shrimp which had a decent flavor, but way too much butter in it. It should resemble more of a brighter red color with visible spices in it. But what we got was a thick, buttery, pink/orange sauce. Flavor was ok, shrimp was cooked nicely. It was good to dip bread into. Next up was their wedge salad - Typical, HUGE salad with a quarter of the iceberg lettuce head and all the other items... I love adding ranch dressing to the bluecheese that's already on it and in this case, it worked perfectly! The lettuce and ingredients were flavorful and very fresh. I enjoyed it, but could only eat half of it to ensure I saved room for my entrée. For my entrée I got steak frites for the first time ever! They did an amazing job with the hangar steak! Great flavor and perfect temperature! It was a good size portion as well. The fries that came with it were amazingly crispy and quite nice, I just wish they were slightly warmer. They seem to coat them with corn starch, as I saw some on several of the fries. I loved how crunchy they were! And they came with a nice ketchup... I wonder if it's homemade? Overall, we all enjoyed dinner and the service... They could easily be a 5-star

If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. We risked another walk-in with no reservations, and we snagged two prime end seats on the communal table. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. Either way, it was a fantastic experience, and I will dine here again.

Now, on to the food. If you've followed me long enough on Yelp, you know I'm a big lover of pork chops. Perry's!? Hello, Perry's?! Come thruuuuu! Perry's has one of the best pork chops I've ever experienced. Yes, "experienced," because it certainly was an experience. The chop is gigantic and certainly big enough for two people to share. I did not share lol. I definitely had leftovers. It was seasoned perfectly, it was juicy, it was just amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat for the pork chop alone. We also indulged in a seafood tower. Now, that's your standard fare. Good, but nothing special. Go for the pork chop. Just go. A huge shoutout to my friend for putting me on. Cheers!

Once seated, we waited longer than normal to be greeted or get water. Bread was served before drinks ever arrived. The entrees and sides were very good (but def not straight from the grill/oven piping hot), but the service is where they lost a star. At the price point, exceptional service should be a given. Having been to other locations, I expected more. We had a nice meal, but will seek other options next time we go out. Valet parking was nice ($5).

This past Thursday evening, the gals and I shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio and the shrimp fried green tomatoes. For my entree, I opted for the mushroom tortellini which was phenomenal. The pesto cream sauce was velvety and delicious! Our server was attentive and fun! Definitely a great place to enjoy the patio if the weather is nice!

The staff was kind enough to seat us earlier than our original reservation, which was a really nice touch and much appreciated. I was also happy to see a decent number of gluten-free options. While the main dishes are a bit limited, most of the sides are gluten-free. Now for the food, the crispy chicken sandwich was the highlight of the meal. The Smashburger was also delicious. I ordered the rockfish without the bun, while my dad had it with the bun, and both were great. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, and the fries were solid. The mac & cheese, unfortunately, was not good at all. On the plus side, the hot cider was delicious. Desserts were a bit of a mixed thoughts. The bread pudding was definitely the best one we tried and really enjoyable. However, the chocolate peanut butter pie was a big disappointment. It was extremely hard and cold (not pie texture), the peanut butter wasn't creamy at all, and it honestly tasted more like a protein bar loaded with sugar. The crust also tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while--disappointing. Overall, we still enjoyed our visit and many of the dishes were great, but the dessert experience could definitely be improved.
