We are new to the area, saw the reviews as good and decided to stop in for breakfast. Although we were seated immediately, the waitress chewing the big green wad of gum told us before we ordered our coffe, the restaurant was out of cream! Out of cream? Give me a break, the Braum's is a half a block down and opens at 6 a.m. Anyone could run down there quickly and get plenty of cream for the day. She stated the food truck didn't come on Saturday because they were closed.....hmmmm, still no excuse for a breakfast place to not have cream for the coffee! Just a sad excuse.... read more

Service is very slow on Sunday morning with maybe 5 groups in the restaurant. We've been waiting for 20 minutes. Multiple tables dirty, blinds broken, ceiling caving in. The service is horrible - took the waitress 10 minutes to get to us. They only seem to have two waitresses working. Our food finally came out 40 minutes later and incorrect. The waitress seemed more concerned for her large table instead of the other 5 tables waiting for service. We won't be coming back. read more

I visited Texan Kitchen for the first time in about one year. I requested a classic hamburger as I have many times before. The food took longer to arrive than I remember, but I hoped the extended wait would be worth it. Instead of a fresh, hand formed patty on a tasty baked bun, I received a machine formed beef-like burger on a bun you find at lower rate restaurants. I didn't mind the smaller portion of fries, but others might feel a little cheated. If burger quality diminished this much in one year, I have to believe the rest of the menu did too. Straight up, down home cooking. We went for the first time and had breakfast. The pork chops looked as if they were cut straight from a pork loin, they were cooked perfectly. The home fries were hand cut, seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection as well. The pancakes.. yes, pancakes topped it off. They were nothing short of epic. I was impressed with my lunch experience here today. Stopped in around 1:30 and had the place to myself. Restaurant was very clean and staff was obsessing over cleaning the soda fountain. My chicken fried chicken was great. Properly battered and fried in clean grease, with a flavorful white gravy. Both the roll and cornbread were good. Lunch included a soup- the vegetable beef soup reminded me of grandma. It was superb. The highlight was the cucumber salad- not like any I have eaten before- the seasonings were jumping out of the vinegar dressing perfectly. Lunch with a drink out the door around $10. Good grub for the price. It's pretty quiet at lunch time -- the Airport Freeway project is probably hurting their traffic. I had the CFS with mashed potatoes and green beans and it got positive marks for all the things that can potentially irritate me at places like this. Decided to try this place out and while the service was great, the food was horrible. My husband tried the chicken fried chicken and I had the chicken tenders. They both tasted as though they were made with old frozen chicken. We each had mashed potatoes which were just as disappointing despite the gravy being good. I also ordered fried okra which actually wasn't too bad. The dinner rolls were a bit stale. This is actually on Main Street in Euless. The map didn't orient correctly. It looks like a good hardy homey breakfast kind of place. But this joint misses the mark on so many levels. I ordered the Mexican omlete and it was overloaded with not so fresh onions and topped with canned chili. I know hormel when I taste it. The coffee was insipid. Tried them for breakfast and everyone in my party was disappointed. The ingredients were not fresh, mostly canned or processed, and the "mixed fruit" came out frozen, which is challenging to eat. The Juevos Rancheros were subpar and the "Swiss cheese" on my omelet looked like processed Kraft squares just placed on top. Maybe they do better at lunch/dinner, but I prefer food made with fresh ingredients. Also, someone in my party stated the restroom was "gross". read more

I wanted to like this place. Looked like a fun local joint. A friend and I went on a Friday night and ordered a couple of plate lunches - chicken fried steak and liver and onions and pie. All of it was AWFUL!!! Vegetables from a can, thick brown gravy that had a twang to it, and the pie was dreadful. When I can't eat pie, there is something wrong. Aside from the food, there were roaches running down the wall next to our booth and I can't stand that! Don't sit next to the walls and you might not notice them. We could not get out of there fast enough. On the other hand, there was a table of about 15 elderly customers who were really enjoying the kareoke night so someone liked the food. Pretty new to the area, was looking for a place to go eat. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. The food is reasonably priced and you get a ton. They advertise home cooking and believe me they deliver. This was on par to what my grandma her self made... I am for sure a fan. Don't listen to the negative reviews this place literally makes the best burger in the area and that bun they use is to die for. Trust me go in, order the bacon cheeseburger and you will come out a very happy person. Beyond that , I can say that the breakfast food was good but nothing compares to that burger. We love this place! Comfort food at its best! We come very often and never had a bad experience! The food is good, the wait staff is very nice and the chef comes out to visit sometimes. The chef coming out to visit is a plus that you don't see anymore. The prices are awesome especially having a good size family. My favorite is there breakfast! On weekends they have live music. You can say it's like going to a small town cafe. So if you are looking for a home like cafe with great food then Texas Kitchen is the place. You can tell the chef cooks from the heart! On a a Friday night we waited at least 20 minutes to order. Out of soup out of roast beef. Waitress, the only waitress in restaurant, commented that manager was busy in Bedford opening another restaurant and was too busy to be here. How can you open another restaurant when you can't manage one. Waitress was nice but overwhelmed. As would be expected. She has orders ,food delivery and carry out and taking money for all meals. Tasty food but nothing special. Typical diner food, chicken fried steak is my favourite dish, I really love the chicken tortilla soup as well. The turkey and dressing reminded me of my high school.cafeterias thanksgiving lunch! It wasn't spectacular but the nostalgia made up for it in a HUGE way! The pies are awesome! I recommend the Coconut cream or the almond joy pie! I have been to this place about 3 times. The first time we had the cheeseburgers and they were fine if you like a lot of bread. Our waiter was good. It was at lunch and not too many there. The next time was on Valentines. They were having some sort of Valentines/karaoke party and one short chubby waitress was running around in a tutu. Don't know what that was about but it was certainly unprofessional. We were told that the karaoke was a regular event. I had the catfish which was good except for their terrible tarter? sauce that was made out of ranch??? Never heard of that one before but don't try it. It is awful. My husband had their meatloaf which he said was the worst that he had ever had. The green beans were frozen and mushy. We were looking for a place to go on Friday night and had been told that they had a band on Fridays so we thought we would give them one last chance. They were having another party and the place was almost full. We were seated to the side and had a club sandwich which was good and a chicken fried steak which was okay but not the best that I have had. Before we received our food a lady came over and said, "I'm not asking you to leave but we are having a birthday party and I wanted to let you know that you are welcome to participate." We felt like we needed to vacate our table as they were running out of space and it appeared that she WAS asking us to leave. The band was already playing and in between songs one of the band members asked for donations to buy some tool for one of the band members. Donations?? for a tool?? Give me a break! We quickly finished our meal and left. Now, we have been told that their breakfast is good. Not sure that I am up to having breakfast served by a tutu or having to dig into my pockets to make a donation. I noticed on Friday night she wasn't wearing the tutu. Who knows, the next donation may be for the missing tutu. They seem to have a lot of parties and not too much time for just the regular walk in customers. read more

Always great food, and everything is home cooked! My favorites so far are the chicken fried chicken, biscuits and sausage gravy, and the homemade lemon pie and peanut butter pie. I never liked cornbread. Then I was served cornbread and decided to taste it. It was great. The first time in my life I've ever liked it! There's usually a good assortment of pies, all freshly baked and really tasty. The service is friendly and attentive. I'm really happy to have a great place to eat close to home. My food was totally acceptable breakfast food- fine french toast, eggs cooked right, biscuit was good, and bacon was tasty (maybe a little limp for some, not super crispy.) My SIL had the biscuits and gravy which she was pleased with (she lives in France now so she doesn't get proper southern food unless she visits us in Texas!) Her husband got pancakes which were totally black on the bottom, not good. Also he ordered strawberries for the pancakes and instead of actual fruit, he was greeted with what we called "strawberry product"- kind of strawberry syrup with strawberryish chunks in it. Probably totally fine if that's what you're expecting but -as you may have guessed- it wasn't what he had in mind. My husband had the Big Texas omlette which was just kind of meh- the fajita meat was a tough. But our waitress was super sweet and it is nice to have a home cookin' diner place close to home, even if it's a little hit or miss. read more

Service is great if you are not a minority. Unfortunately I do not fit that description so the waitress avoided our table for about ten minutes. Our waitress was happy to serve others. She kept going back and forth to other tables. When she finally did come she came with a bad attitude and a shirt with Irish symbols on it. She didn't even look at us. She rudely asked what we wanted to drink. We got up and left in disgust. I wasn't about to eat there. But I will say that looking at what other people ordered, the food looked good. Today was our first time to dine at Texan Kitchen. You have always heard that 1st impressions are always going to be what you think of when you choose your choice of places to go or people you like. We loved the food. I had breakfast my wife had dinner menu items. We both came out winners. Loved it. The service needs a little work. When informed this was our first time we were not informed that all menu items were available but when I asked about seasonal items we were informed they were not available. Our drinks were not freshened or replenished. Our meals came out at different times. There was no inquiry if we would like desert. My daughters small doll seemed to be in the way for the server. We were not informed of the bill not being brought to the table but we did figure out who and where to pay on our own. And when I figured the server deserved as least 10% gratuity for her efforts, I was verbally scolded. If you want a better tip, bring your A-Game when serving and I will be glad to increase the tip percentage. By the way I gave 11% but then I'm good at math. We loved the food but Texan will not be in our top 10 to go to. read more
