The last few times here has been horrible. Came here for NYE, and service was terrible. Our server quickly left after taking orders and dropping off food. Would like a refill or utensils to eat. We had to wave him down. Food was meh-decent. Only good food were the burger and fries. Decided to come back recently, as NYE could've been a bad night. Nope, still bad service; in addition to long wait to order and get food. Doubtful this would be a top pick to re-visit, especially if we're hungry. read more

This is a very impersonal eating establishment. Very big, airy & cold. The menu is on the modern side so don't expect comfort food. We were a group of 6 for lunch and 3 of us got sick after we left. NOT eating there again. read more

My wife had a good experience for lunch so we went back for the valentine's special. The service was good as were the drinks but the food was really bad. My surf and turf had a small piece of overcooked sirloin and raw lobster and the butter was like a chunk of salty fat. My wife had chicken marsala that was even worse. The chicken was cold, dry, overcooked, and burnt on one side with dry noodles. When she asked for more sauce it was so thick and gummy she could not get it off the serving spoon. At 6:00 pm they were out of the salad so they substituted a bad Ceaser salad. They were out of the dessert options so they offered ice cream and berries which were good. When I look at their reviews someone stuffed the ballot box. this place needs a chef and significant improvement. Don't waist your money. read more

Would've liked to had dinner there tonight around 6:00 pm. We called three times to see if our 13-year-old daughter would be allowed but no one ever answered the phone and we were prompted to leave a message. When you are on the road looking for a place to eat the worst thing to come across is an answering machine saying we will call you back later. We had a great time eating at Territory. The service was great and the food was also great. I had the fish and chips (highly recommend) and my fiancé got the burger which he really liked too. The wine list was on point, but my Bloody Mary was incredibly spicy. I can't wait to come back and stay at the hotel and eat at Territory on the outside patio in the summer! read more

We wanted to love this restaurant due to its location on the river, but it was a big MEH. Four of us arrived on Friday night at 5:45 pm with reservations, and were promptly escorted past the more pleasant dining area back to the very last table next to the kitchen. The kitchen had exceptionally bright lighting with no door on it, plus a long counter which appeared to be a service area with lots of foot traffic. Uhh uhh. We asked to be moved, and were able to return to the main section where we were seated at a high, bistro style table. Wooden slat chairs not particularly comfortable. Overall impression of the dining area - industrial, cold, noisy and issues with their lighting. Hardscaping with nothing to soften the space. The lobby of the hotel was pleasant, but due to its lighting looked more like an airport landing strip in that it is exceptionally BRIGHT. Not visually welcoming or appealing, but with proper lighting it could be. The only entrance to the restaurant is through the lobby, and a big section of the restaurant shares this super bright lighting from the lobby. Not conducive to pleasant, relaxed dining. What a shame. Easy fix with a dimmer switch! The menu seemed to offer a variety of options in various price ranges, which seemed promising. Two of us ordered the chicken entree, plus a spicy shrimp dish and a couple of salads. About 15 minutes after placing our order the waitress returned, informing us they were out of chicken. Really, at 5:45 on a Friday evening? When our entrees did arrive they were just average. Wine list was OK, with glass pours ranging from $8 to $12, plus a few craft beers and cocktails. Although service was OK, this place really seems to be struggling for an identity. Our bill for 2 came to $54 for a sandwich, a salad, one beer and two glasses of wine. I have to say, this place looks nice but that's where it ends. My daughter had graduated from 8th grade and wanted to go some place nice so she chose, Territory. She gets there with her mother and orders soft drinks. My fiancé and I arrive a few minutes later and sit down. Roughly 15 minutes later someone comes over and asks if we would like to order something to drink. We order two drinks from the bar. I'm not entirely sure if the bartender knows how to make a Lemon Drop but I have to say it was weak. I'm guessing they used watered down lemonade and half a shot of vodka if that. Another 15 to 20 minutes pass and we are ready to order but nobody has shown up to take our order. Several more minutes go by and the two servers ask who was going to take our order. Needless to say the service is almost non-existent. Our order was finally taken. Well over an hour later our food finally arrives. I ordered the triple pig burger and I have to say, it's pretty underwhelming. My daughter enjoyed her dish as did her mother. My fiancé ordered a hummus plate but found the hummus to be almost completely devoid of flavor. Some olive oil and garlic would be a good idea to add to it. When we were done with our meal the server took away plates then disappeared. Another 10 to 15 minutes passed and she finally came back with a check. Problem was, my daughter wanted a special dessert. She asked for the skillet cookie only to be told it was no longer available. Why is it still on the menu? Needless to say she was very disappointed. She ordered cheesecake instead. All of this happened with only three other tables being occupied. It wasn't packed, it wasn't even mildly busy. There really should be no excuse for such lack-luster service. My first visit and it was a complete disappointment. read more

We had an awful experience trying to schedule a dinner for a party of 19. Yes it's a large group but the way the manager handled it was terrible and we decided to go else where after numerous bad communications. They wanted us to give them over two weeks notice on what exactly each person wanted to eat. We were one day late in getting this information to them because we didn't have everyone's answer yet... because of this they said we would now have to do a set menu that we couldn't even pick what was on it. The options were only some of the most expensive choices and pushed us out of budget. Why they need 2 weeks notice to only make 19 plates of food during dinner time baffles me. I don't know a single other restaurant that can't handle making 19 plates of food for a group unless they have 14 days to plan for it... with that... I do not recommend trying to have an event or big group dinner here at all. read more

The first time we ate there, it was good, I got the wagu burger, and my son got the fish and chips. We ate there the following weekend, and not so good, we ordered the new york steak and fish and chips. The steak was ordered medium rare, but was very undercooked. The fish was really dark, like they hadn't changed the oil in a while, and much smaller than the previous week's portion, the fries were cold, and the tarter sauce was translucent on the top, like it had been sitting out for hours. Pretty eew. I really expected more for the prices charged, our bill with tip was close to $80. read more

We stayed at The Independence Hotel for three days we had the opportunity to have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Territory during our stay. I can not say enough good things about this space, food and service. The salmon dinner was wonderful, the bread is homemade, we even had homemade biscuits with our tasty breakfast. I love the that the breakfast, which comes with the cost of a hotel stay is an actual breakfast none of that fake egg and sausage breakfast meals you get at the other hotels. Love the view can't wait to return in the summer and take advantage of the patio. Friendly staff! read more

Had visitor's from SanFrancisco who are familiar with high prices for food and drink, but they were even surprised by the prices especially since the food and service don't merit it. Prior to party of approx 12, I called for reservation. They told me it wasn't necessary. Told them I really wanted to reserve because I wanted to make sure we were close by the fireplace so that a couple of kids could sit there after dinner to color etc while we visited. Told me again it wasn't necessary they would have no problem taking care of us. A couple arrived early and called to tell me they didn't have a reservation for us so they helped them move tables to accommodate us. Ugh!! Get there, others arriving as well; our waitress was very pleasant but totally uninformed about both food and drink menu. Ordered appetizers, drinks etc. Totally overpriced for what you got. An additional 3 guests arrived later for drinks. We asked if we could get another table next to us. Got told that table was reserved (no one used the table the whole time we were there) and that we should have made reservations in the first place. HELLO... you told me I didn't need too!!! Guests decided to leave. Don't even get me started on checkout process. They didn't have one! Took forever to leave. Management response was very non responsive. I call he tells me he will look into problem. No call back so I call back, talk to Sarah, she tells me "oh yea I told him not to call you back that I would take care of it but I forgot". Leave a message for Manager Mark to call me. To this date no call back. Was really excited to support local hotel but very disappointed. Guess they don't need the business. read more
