Yes I absolutely do recommend the Grain Station. It's an all around place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm amazed how the service was way beyond normal. I've only been in a few dine ins that went above and beyond friendly hospitality. That's a lot in these times. Kudos to this place. When you walk in and see that the lighting and windows all over is nice cause you can actually see the menu when ordering. The menu is big with lots to choose from. So yes! Go and eat and get full with lots of food. I guaranteed I'll be back. So if you're in the area at anytime of the day. Stop and enjoy a good meal with your family and or friends. It's that kind of place.

Get the waffle, it's great. The vibes at the grain station are amazing. The staff is kind, and they work quick. I love all of them.

    Thick yellow goop ...b&g

Service was fine...food . Drove from Salem because we have eaten here a few times before and it was very good. My friends got what they called biscuits and gravy, more like thick slime. The chicken in the Cobb salad was old, lettuce was wilted, tomatoes old and soggy. Waitress told the cook the gravy didn't look right and they told her it was fine....one friend was comped fr her meal, but won't be back.

Classic cheeseburger with side of slaw (ate in my car) Sooooo good!

The best burgers ever! Handmade patties with the best accoutrements! Friendly service and a cool spot!

    Online Menu-Dijon Chicken Entree Description

We moved to the area in September with our toddler and this restaurant has been our go to "to go" place. We love the Dijon chicken. Using the online menu, the entree states that it comes with Yukon potatoes. For some reason, this has always been confusing to staff when calling in to order to go. Today, we were told that it comes with mashed potatoes and veggies after lunch ends. The menu doesn't reflect this change. And I was told it would be $3 extra to have the potatoes that the menu states the entree comes with. I asked if the menu changed, to which I was told it hasn't. Upon asking, I was told the owners are cracking down on substitutions? But it isn't a substitution...We have ordered from there at least 15 times and would've at least liked for the restaurant to honor their menu description and change the menu to reflect their price changes if it truly has changed (since this confusion happens every time). It would also be nice for the staff to be educated on menu and price changes because it seems like what you get and what you pay are dependent on who answers the phone. We are sad because the entree is delicious, but we are going to try another local restaurant where service is more consistent and they care about people who support their business often.

We were in Monmouth for a football camp at WOU. We decided to go out for a coaching staff dinner and this was the place we chose. Local beers, TV's to watch the draft, and we didn't have to eat cafeteria food. Win win. Seating was a little crowded at first, but they allowed us to push two tables together after we asked, so the 7 of us could all fit. The host, bartenders, and servers were perfectly nice. Helped us with our orders and made suggestions. I decided to go with the fish & chips. They were, fine... I don't really know how to explain it. The fish tasted ok, but it felt more like a chicken strip than a piece of fish. Parts were hard, the breading wasn't flaky or light at all. It was kind of odd. The French fries were soft and a little chewy, and only a small handful of them. The coleslaw was good, and I'm glad they brought two containers of tartar sauce. Overall the food was fine. I'll probably stop by and try a burger if I'm in Monmouth again, not with fries though. 6/10.

We were in town for the OSU vs. UCLA game...seeking an amazing breakfast, and, boy did we find it! The waitress was golden..so helpful and accommodating. I ordered the Denver omelette with a biscuit/gravy. It was perfectly prepared and presented. I'd like to comment specifically that it was not greasy! This breakfast filled me up and carried me until about 3:00pm! I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Ask the Community - Grain Station

Does the grain station have gluten free options?

Yes. Clearly marked on menu. A person in our party had a great meatloaf sandwich with GF bread.

Do i need reservations to make sure we get a table on sunday afternoon....party of 6?

I would say yes. There's a fairly large after church crowd and the tables are typically booths or high tops

With 4.6 stars/reviews, we were excited to try it out and support a local businesses, so we gathered up our family and headed there for dinner. There were 6 in our party (3 adults, 3 kids). Unfortunately, our experience was one for the books, and not in a good way. Let's get straight to it. SERVICE: Both the person who answered the phone and the person who greeted us when we walked in were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, they told us that it was their last day and that they were moving to Portland, so she was training a new person. The new person who took our order didn't know much about the menu items, but since we knew that she was in training, we asked for help and she got someone who could answer our questions about gluten free options and pasta sauce options. We waited a a good 15 minutes or so for ginger ale and 2 cokes. We waited easily over 50 minutes for our food. MENU: The menu is very limited, meaning there are not many options to choose from. They didn't have any juice or any "kids menu" items to choose from. Limited appetizers. FOOD: Probably the worst food I've ever had at a sit down restaurant in Monmouth/Independence. We ordered few things to eat family style since it was our first time and we wanted to try a few items. Every pasta dish was undercooked and flavorless. Every single thing we ordered tasted either old, microwaved or way too salty. Nothing looked or tasted fresh BESIDES the salad, which took longer to get than the actual food. I only gave one star for the nice person who greeted us and kept checking on us throughout the long wait. Otherwise, I'd give zero stars. It was a hefty price to pay for really BAD food. It was so bad that we went to get something else for dinner after we left there. I'm not sure if we went on an off day, or if we ordered some items that aren't usually made, but I was surprised by the quality of food, especially with such good ratings. Will not be returning.

We walked in, there were only two other parties dining there on a Wednesday evening, our party of five were seated right away and provided with water and menus. On this evening the menu was slanted towards Louisiana cuisine and we took advantage as we rarely have the opportunity to enjoy cajun cuisine. The Great: Lots of great local brews and wines. My wife enjoyed a wine flight all featuring wines made in the area. I enjoyed a couple local brews that were excellent. I ordered the Jambalaya while the wife went with a Charcuterie Plate, both dishes were solid. Finished off dinner with an order of beignets for a sweet ending. The Good: Service was solid, food did take a while as they only had one person in the kitchen preparing the food. We took the opportunity to relax after a long day of travel and enjoy our libations. The Okay: Some of the items featured on the online menu was not available but our little group all found suitable menu replacements with no complaints. Overall: Great spot, fun decor, nice staff, and convenient location to our AirBnb made this a great first night in town!

Walked in expecting a normal dinner, immediately realized we had made a tactical error in the best way possible. The place was packed, loud, and had that kind of energy you can't really fake. Solid 10/10 on vibes if you're in the mood for it (and even if you're not, you adjust quickly). Despite being clearly short staffed, the service was impressively good. Not "everything is perfectly on time" good, but "everyone is working hard, communicating, and actually cares" good. They were very upfront and apologetic about the delays, which honestly went a long way. Food came out a bit slower than usual (again, not surprising given the circumstances), but overall I'd put it at a strong 8/10. Nothing overhyped, just well-executed and worth ordering again. I had the classic lager and it was meh. This is very subjective I realize but I'd rate it a 4 or 5/10. All things considered, it could have easily been a frustrating experience walking in on one of the busiest nights of the year, but it wasn't. Credit to the staff for keeping things running and keeping the tone positive. I'd come back, ideally on a slightly less festive evening, but also kind of glad I saw it at full capacity.
