We ended up on the patio for lunch. It does a pretty good job of shading and keeps it pretty cool. Very attentive and quick service. Top notch. I got the country fried steak. The litmus test for me steak is the Knork. I have to be able to use the fork like a knife. Success. Gravy is house made and tastes like it. Delicious gravy. The breading was well seasoned but unfortunately too much so. I was a little too salty. Otherwise a great meal. Hash browns were a little under if that is your thing. The wings were yummy too. Spicy peach was a good choice. I personally didn't care for the garlic Parmesan but others did. I would return and try other things for sure. read more

Grain Station - Country fried steak, biscuit and my share of the wings. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Monmouth, Oregon

A great option for breakfast and dinner. I've been here for breakfast before, and it was quite good. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon, and decided to sit outside. THe seating area was great, with a roof providing shade but still allowing for fresh air. Service was very friendly and very attentive. I ordered the Bacon Cheddar burger and my companion went with the Cowboy Philly Sandwich, both with fries. The Bacon Cheddar burger was great. A thick beef patty was paired with bacon and cheddar. The sauce was a nice, creamy 1000 island. It was rich and messy. The fries were good too. The brioche bun was soft and rich; it held up nicely. The Cowboy Philly Sandwich was an interesting combination of beef brisket, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and red peppers. The sauce was a chipotle mayonnaise. There was slaw on the side. I just had a bite, but it all tasted good and went together well. This is a solid place for a good breakfast or lunch/dinner with great service. read more

Food was great! Service was fast and staff was very attentive ! Environment was clean Sunday morning breakfast was fantastic

Yes I absolutely do recommend the Grain Station. It's an all around place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm amazed how the service was way beyond normal. I've only been in a few dine ins that went above and beyond friendly hospitality. That's a lot in these times. Kudos to this place. When you walk in and see that the lighting and windows all over is nice cause you can actually see the menu when ordering. The menu is big with lots to choose from. So yes! Go and eat and get full with lots of food. I guaranteed I'll be back. So if you're in the area at anytime of the day. Stop and enjoy a good meal with your family and or friends. It's that kind of place. read more

Grain Station's Spicy Reuben is delicious! My favorite Reuben has always been the Reuben that Rose's Deli in Northwest Portland used to make. For many years all Reubens have been compared to the Reubens from Rose's. I had a Spicy Reuben form Grain Station recently. Now all Reubens will be compared to my new favorite, the Spicy Reuben from Grain Station. read more

Amazing food! Amazing service! Perfect for a family get together and a chill spot to hang with friends!

Service was fine...food . Drove from Salem because we have eaten here a few times before and it was very good. My friends got what they called biscuits and gravy, more like thick slime. The chicken in the Cobb salad was old, lettuce was wilted, tomatoes old and soggy. Waitress told the cook the gravy didn't look right and they told her it was fine....one friend was comped fr her meal, but won't be back. read more

We love this place! Happen to come across this after facing the worse day (tax Prep). Their food is delish! Servers are very helpful and friendly. Hubs had the half Belgian waffle bacon and egg. I wanted to try their skillet Hot Mess. Needless to say I wolfed half of my huge delicious breakfast and wanted to try my hubs waffles. And I'm sorry to say I ate most of it!! They were so light and tasted fantastic! I am a traditional waffle kinda gal but these have definitely changed me! Our server was so attentive and made sure our coffee and water was always topped off. Even tho we were full...or should I say I was, we really wanted to try their chocolate cream pie. AGAIN! Did not disappoint! This place is a must try! Found out they have their own brewery. So if you're into beer this is the place! They have a great outside seating area too! read more

We moved to the area in September with our toddler and this restaurant has been our go to "to go" place. We love the Dijon chicken. Using the online menu, the entree states that it comes with Yukon potatoes. For some reason, this has always been confusing to staff when calling in to order to go. Today, we were told that it comes with mashed potatoes and veggies after lunch ends. The menu doesn't reflect this change. And I was told it would be $3 extra to have the potatoes that the menu states the entree comes with. I asked if the menu changed, to which I was told it hasn't. Upon asking, I was told the owners are cracking down on substitutions? But it isn't a substitution...We have ordered from there at least 15 times and would've at least liked for the restaurant to honor their menu description and change the menu to reflect their price changes if it truly has changed (since this confusion happens every time). It would also be nice for the staff to be educated on menu and price changes because it seems like what you get and what you pay are dependent on who answers the phone. We are sad because the entree is delicious, but we are going to try another local restaurant where service is more consistent and they care about people who support their business often. read more

We had the Gorgonzola and Steak salad that was excellent. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere.

I always give a place a second chance. I am glad that we did. It was a very busy Sunday afternoon. All the staff was really hustling. My husband got a breakfast scramble. The service was lovely, the breakfast (California omelet) was Yummers! I can see why so many people come here.

We were in Monmouth for a football camp at WOU. We decided to go out for a coaching staff dinner and this was the place we chose. Local beers, TV's to watch the draft, and we didn't have to eat cafeteria food. Win win. Seating was a little crowded at first, but they allowed us to push two tables together after we asked, so the 7 of us could all fit. The host, bartenders, and servers were perfectly nice. Helped us with our orders and made suggestions. I decided to go with the fish & chips. They were, fine... I don't really know how to explain it. The fish tasted ok, but it felt more like a chicken strip than a piece of fish. Parts were hard, the breading wasn't flaky or light at all. It was kind of odd. The French fries were soft and a little chewy, and only a small handful of them. The coleslaw was good, and I'm glad they brought two containers of tartar sauce. Overall the food was fine. I'll probably stop by and try a burger if I'm in Monmouth again, not with fries though. 6/10. read more

We were in town for the OSU vs. UCLA game...seeking an amazing breakfast, and, boy did we find it! The waitress was golden..so helpful and accommodating. Food is huge! Food is fast and there were a lot of people. We got our order in about 10 mins. after sitting down. Our waitress was very friendly, calling me 'sweetheart', and giving me eye contact, paying attention to me, unlike many waitresses, they only look at the person whom they expect to get tips from. We got a nice 'to go container', fits in our cooler, the only thing was that our ketchup for our hash browns spilled all over, which adds ketchup flavor to my Spinach Omelette & hash browns. It's right on the other side of the parking lot of College Inn. Update: Went back for another breakfast. This time I picked Corned Beef Hash. Boy! Was I surprised! Another huge meal, and I was thinking corned beef, like you'd find from a can, but this is the real McCoy. Real corned beef, freshly made, about 4 potatoes cubes, red & yellow pepper slices, onions. They were better with rice, but once again, I took the more than half for my lunch (during my event), and still have enough for a homeless person (to dig inside a trash can. She came by about 6, but by then it was on the bottom of the trash. I saw her yesterday, picked up my leftover omelette from the trash & saved the corned beef for her, but I got tired waiting!) So, please, have some meals in 'smaller portions', so I don't end up throwing away food. Not all seniors are big eaters! read more

Good hometown food, fantastic drinks, and superb service - what more could you ask for? We are new to the area and kept driving by this place, then said, "Ok, tonight is the night. We've got to go here." We are so glad we did. Steak salad, meatloaf sandwich with Cajun tots, a blackberry lemon drop, and a Bloody Mary hit the spot perfectly! Good food and good beer. Just not as good as the price they charge. Service is always so-so. Fine place to eat but not great.

When: Feb 9, 2020; 1:00 pm, Party of 2 Adults GENERAL: Convenient location on the 99W, just a couple of blocks East of Western Oregon University. There is ample parking on property and the decor is modern urban contemporary with a lot of stainless steel. On this occasion, it appeared we just missed the Sunday Brunch rush, because when we walked in the staff was busy cleaning up tables & floors and the place was just only about 25% filled with customers. We were greeted warmly and seated in a timely fashion. FOOD: Because Grain Station produces their own in-house beers, the wife & I had to have a pint...My wife had a Pint of the Bet the Farm IPA and I had a pint of the Grain Station Stout Pint. For food, my wife had the Cinnamon French Toast and I had the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. The food looked great and tasted great. The beers were good and hit the spot on a sunny Sunday afternoon. OVERALL: In my opinion, Grain Station is the best of both worlds...Our server, Joan brought that old school diner charm & friendliness that you would find in small town diners...And the in-house produced beers and modern American comfort food themed menu gives this eatery a hip type vibe, perfect for this college town. read more

I love the interior aesthetic of this place! Very hip and classic at the same time. I'm also a huge fan of any place that's like 90% booths! Can't speak for the entire menu as we only came for breakfast. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon and my co-eaters enjoyed some biscuits and gravy with a couple of eggs. My breakfast burrito was fairly standard but tasty. I did try some of the gravy and it was delicious. Our server was an excellent, towering, raspy-voiced woman and she is really the reason for all of the stars. There's something about a seasoned waitress with hard but comical edges that just really makes my day. I definitely plan on a return visit to try out their lunch/dinner menu. read more
