First of all the food was delicious. I got the Scramble and I really like the gravy that went with it. The food came out pretty quick and was HOT! Good quality food as well! The service was excellent. It's a cool little restaurant in a small town, I passed by after visiting Silver Falls State Park. Additionally I also got a cinnamon roll and it was REALLY GOOD!! It tasted very fresh and I highly recommend it. The only downside was the price. Both of these plates were almost 20 bucks each which I feel was a bit much, but the food was delicious. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday. Got there before 9am and they weren't very busy so we got a table right away. I had the smashburger, which was new on the menu. Thought it was just ok. Others got the biscuits & gravy (grandpa thought it was the best he'd had in a long time), corn meal pancakes (great), hash browns (great - you could tell they were real potatoes), cheese & ham croissant (great), and a few other waffles and pancakes. Coffee was good. Cinnamon roll was great. The ambiance is always lively and nice. My mother in law and I stopped at this super cute cafe . The staff was very friendly our waitress was great and the food was good the decor was super cute . I got the club chicken sandwich with no bun they wrapped with lettuce which they there was enough lettuce for me to cut it all up and basically have salad (thank you ) the smoked salmon chowed was delicious. My mom had biscuits gravy breakfast plate . Gravy was good and biscuits were big . We will definitely come back . A cute little cafe, in a small town, serving delicious breakfast and lunch -- what more could you want? The Turnaround is a small cafe, and quite popular, so wait times can be long on weekends, but it's worth the wait. Service was great, once our table was ready (five of us on a Sunday, around 1pm). I'm a sucker for buttermilk pancakes, and I'm often disappointed when I order them at restaurants, but that definitely was NOT the case here. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy, with a nice buttery flavor. I also ordered a side of bacon, which was thick, smoky, and perfectly cooked. Upon completion of my meal, I should have gone with the "Turnaround Egg Breakfast", because I had trouble finishing three big pancakes. The egg breakfast comes with two eggs, an option for two pancakes, and then your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage. Next time! :-) Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, which consisted of a mix of breakfast and lunch dishes. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive for another visit! read more

Went here because a friend said it was good. IT WAS TERRIBLE. Over salted potatoes , to the point of having to drink water just to swallow it. I asked for over easy eggs, they were completely over cooked to where the yolks were dry. And the chicken fried steak was okay . It was said to come with a good amount of gravy . It DID NOT. For starters, my friend and i waited about 14 minutes before we were seated. Before then, NO ONE acknowledged our presence. The cashier stood less than 2 feet away. A hostess/server kept circling around with NO eye contact or a greeting. Some time went by and even a young man from the kitchen made eye contact. The folks in the restaurant kept looking over, probably wondering why we were still standing, waiting to be seated. A simple greeting for starters would have been nice. The cashier finally asked us if we wanted a booth or a table. We wanted a booth and waited patiently while she took her time wiping down 2 booths, knowing how long we had already been waiting. After getting water, we were ready to place our order, but no one appeared to be interested in taking our order. We left. We felt invisible and ignored. Perfect little country kitchen place that is warm and welcoming. Feels like going home. Very clean and the decor is so cute. Food is fantastic and they offer different dishes that are out of the ordinary which I love. Pulled pork pancakes were amazing lily good evening though it sounds crazy. We've eaten here at least a dozen time and never been disappointed. This local family run business is worth the drive and a great place for breakfast, lunch or coffee and a pastry. Turnaround Cafe used to be my go to place - food and service was always above par. I hadn't been in awhile so I decided to go there this morning for breakfast. My visit and food were disappointing. Walked in and most of the tables were full but no one had any food, the waiter was milling around but not seating those of us that were waiting. Waited about 5 minutes when two employees walked in the backdoor and I was shown to a table. Service was so slow that I almost walked out. But I wanted a good breakfast. So I ordered eggs and bacon with potatoes and sour dough toast. The eggs and bacon were great! But the potatoes were burned little pieces of potatoes with a couple of bigger slices and were luke warm. The sourdough toast could have been used as roofing shingles. Burned, inedible and cold - disappointing as I had nothing to dunk my eggs in. Waiter did not come and ask me how things were but I was asked at least 47 times if I wanted more coffee - you would think after the first 2 no's that it would no longer be offered. Needless to say I won't be going back as I don't need to be disappointed twice and feel bad for shelling out $20 for a meal I did not enjoy. read more

Absolutely FABULOUS breakfast. I live in Chehalis, WA, but go to Corvallis every week. This cafe just south of Salem is well worth the drive. My Dad has eggs, ham and toast with home fried red potatoes. I had a short stack of fluffy, tender hot cakes with the Lumberman plate: the best chicken fried steak and sausage gravy I've had in a long time. Gotta bring my wife back to this place.
