Amazing authentic Korean comfort food…read more Food is always so delicious staff is friendly and welcoming, area is clean. We have tried: - Seafood pancake - veggie pancake - chicken bulgogi - spicy pork bulgogi - spicy squid bulgogi - beef bulgogi - all the banchan And everything is a 5/5, soooo good. Service is great they're always friendly. Now, the ONLY downside is their ridiculously expensive prices . ($20+ per dish) We still go here but just not as often due to their prices. Besides that, I highly recommend this place.

Yummy food but oh so pricey! I ordered takeout through the…read morephone for my first visit because I was interested in the lunch specials that were offered. Unfortunately, I was looking at an outdated menu on Yelp, so the spicy tofu soup is no longer on the lunch specials, AND if you want a "lunch special," it needs to be specified when placing the order. I assumed that because it was lunch time, I would be paying the lunch pricing? That wasn't the case when I arrived. Parking seems to only be on the same side as the barber shop (which i think is connected to the restaurant as well?). When I walked in, I didn't really check out the place. Seems like a classic no-frills Korean restaurant. An ajumma (아줌마) appeared at the register after a couple seconds (lol that is the first description that came to mind). I informed her of my phone order and she brought out the food and rang me up for around $55? I was thinking, yikes, that's a steep price for a spicy tofu soup and a lunch special of the galbi and mentioned it to her. She told me that the portion made is not the lunch special and next time, make sure to specify that over the phone if I want the Lunch special or dinner portion. She clarified, while acting out the mannerisms, of customers that would complain about the Lunch special, because they would want a dinner portion instead, so she just places general orders as the dinner portion. (I can already imagine the Karens she must have received for her reaction, which is understandable, but at the time, I was just slightly irritated since I was hoping to pay a cheaper price.) I am assuming after this experience, there is a difference in portion size for the lunch and dinner pricing.. Besides the miscommunication, I can at least say that the food was prepared quickly since it was ready by the time I arrived at the restaurant (about 15 mins after I placed the order?). With the outcast weather, I was craving some soondubu, and Seoul Garden definitely delivered! The tofu portions were generous and the broth was the right amount of spicy where you can taste the flavor but it is not overwhelming. I was not expecting so many complementary sides either! They paired very well with the rice and galbi, which was thoroughly marinated in a delectable glaze. Even though I was initially frustrated that I received the dinner portion, I calmed down after eating the galbi. My son and I actually ended up devouring it.. the food was so good, I totally forgot about the pricing at the moment. Just keep in mind though, this place is not advertised as KBBQ, so you're paying for individual plates/dishes/orders that should already be cooked. I would only recommend this restaurant if there are certain staples you really enjoy (i.e. you're only craving bulgogi but don't want to go out to eat or grill it), because it is arguably just as expensive as KBBQ. But if you're a foodie that can afford it, I'd suggest stopping by to try it out yourself! :)

First Kiss/ delicious drink without dairy!!!…read more Gangnam style combo's First one Chicken marinate and bulgogi with corn dog appetizer - loved the chicken moist flavorful- the bulgogi was ok I wasn't impressed or disappointed it just was? If that makes sense! As for the corn dog- pass in the future really wasn't what I hoped- loved the sweet meets cheese meets fried but it just did not hit for me. Second one Chicken fried and bulgogi and Pom Pom shrimp- the popcorn shrimp was amazing! Loved it! The fried chicken was good- decently seasoned not dried out- and we'll already know about the bulgogi!

This spot happened to pop up as a nearby Google recommendation, so we decided to give it a try. Maybe it was the hunger talking, but the food tasted **absolutely spectacular** for something so simple! I ordered the K-Town Combo, which comes with two proteins, japchae, lettuce, and rice with curry all layered nicely in a bowl. I chose bulgogi and marinated pork with the Hot spice level, and everything sat on top of the lettuce, japchae noodles, and curry rice with a drizzle of sauce. It was seriously so good--flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what I needed after a long day. The restaurant itself is very small, with just a handful of tables that look like wooden benches, and there's no restroom, so it definitely feels more like a quick casual spot than a full sit-down restaurant. When we arrived around 6:30 PM, the place was empty, and we ended up chatting and eating until around 8:30 PM when they were about to close. It never got overly busy, though a few customers came in and out throughout the evening, so it seems like a pretty casual, low-key vibe. One thing that did throw me off was finding the place. I came from the direction of the roundabout and somehow struggled to spot it--maybe I was just tired. Parking wasn't too bad overall, but I think I may have approached from the wrong direction when I tried to park in front. I'll be honest--I didn't really pay attention to the cleanliness because I was too focused on enjoying the food. I didn't get sick and I left feeling full and happy, so overall I'd say it was a great experience. My only real gripe was how difficult it was for me to find, but the food alone makes me want to come back and try more from the menu.

When we went, we made it just in time for the happy hour price which is always a nice surprise. When we sat down, the aunty brought us some banchan. It included beansprouts, pickled radish, kimchi, kimchi zucchini, sweet marinated potatoes, broccoli, and fishcake! A very good variety of dishes. They also dropped off a salad to wrap the meat in, sauce dish, and white rice. Their portions do run on the larger side, even if it's only 2 people eating. Our first, and only round, we ordered the beef brisket, pork belly, and the bulgogi. I'm always a big fan of brisket and pork belly because I prefer non-marinated meats. But, the bulgogi had a good marinade soaked in it, and my friend enjoyed it greatly. While we were eating, the aunty continued to check on us and ask if we needed more meat or banchan. Service was great but we did catch them at a slower time, right before the dinner rush. Overall, the restaurant itself feels very authentic. They offer a good selection of Korean alcohol like soju, terra beer, and others. They do add on an 18% service charge to those who do the BBQ. I'm not sure if they add the gratuity for those who choose Ala carte dishes.

New Gangnam Korean BBQ in Lacey ended up being one of the closest we've found to what we were used to, especially when it comes to the flavors! The food was incredible! We're big fans of spicy beef, and the flavors here were very close to what we love. Everything we tried was flavorful and delicious, and the prices were really good too. We made it in for the lunch special, which was a great deal. We also had really fast and friendly service. We were one of the first tables there, and I think we may have come in right after a rush because it was pretty quiet when we arrived. Since we were the only ones there at first, we got excellent attention from the staff and never had to wait for anything. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because the building and interior could use some updating and a little more attention to cleanliness. The atmosphere was also much quieter than what we're used to at Korean BBQ. There wasn't any music playing, and since we were the only table there for a while, it felt pretty quiet and lacked some of that lively Korean BBQ atmosphere we love. That said, the food is what really stood out here! If you're looking for delicious Korean BBQ with great flavors and good prices, especially if you love spicy beef, I definitely think New Gangnam is worth trying. We'll absolutely be back to try more!

Today was supposed to be a lazy day, laundry and eating salad since we've been out and about almost…read moreeveryday since we got here. Sister had to do some groceries and she mentioned going for Korean and getting seafood pancake. Hmm salad, Korean seafood pancake. Let's go. Love the shopping plaza Gangnam is in as it has other international businesses here. Oh yay, real Koreans, annyeonghaseyo! We never grill for ourselves as I mess it up and it never tastes the same so traditional dining for us. Sister says she has to have seafood pancake but as a family we decided on set A. While waiting we had tea. And to my delight, it was rice tea. So I know this place is fo' real. Tea wasn't too hot and so we were able to sip it right away. And for summer, it's a bit cooler so the warmth of the tea was really comforting. First main dish that came out was the fried mackerel. Not that I'm an expert in this but 10-days going through S Korea and getting to experience the local cuisine for each province, this was bringing back great memories of our trip. Since we didn't have anyone to clean our fish, I was more than happy to clean the bones from the fish. Very little bones and so we were able to eat the fish easily without worrying about choking on it. Everything was so good. So much food. As for lunches, never a fan of it, but my sister enjoyed it and said it was good kind of spicy. Two kinds of broccoli, the one noticeably broccoli was seasoned well and I ate that up. The other broccoli was thinly sliced stems that was pickled with jalapeños. I bit too vinegary for me. But I pretty much finished up all the other banchan. The other main dishes of bulgogi and japchae dos not disappoint. The ladies that served us were so sweet and helpful. Told my sister that every year we visit, Gangnam is a must. Oh and price, the meal set A at $49, very reasonable.
