Got poke bowls to-go with Jaric and I was pleasantly surprised how good the quality was, considering this is in Lacey and what I believe to be a chain restaurant. Really great location! Very quiet as no one was here eating in the minimal seating arrangements that felt a bit tight... it felt awkward for me at first, but staff was so welcoming and personable in their interactions with Jaric and me when we ordered at the front. Service was quick, too, and better than chipotle with their servings. Fish and meats were fresh, which was unexpected on my end for this place. It was such a good surprise. This was a quick and convenient spot for lunch while cleaning clothes at the nearby laundromat. Fast, friendly service, pretty simple cafeteria-style ordering, and decent prices. One bowl was adequate for 2 light lunches. The food was fine. Maybe too dependent on sauces to raise it out of blandness. With mix-n-match toppings it can be easy to introduce flavor clashes, but that's all down to personal choice. I liked how my corn slaw (a lot more like chowder than slaw) soaked into the brown rice, but the seaweed salad, although it was pleasant, didn't fit as well into the scheme. MiSo made it to the 10-year mark, so they're clearly meeting a need. After a decade, their place could use some sprucing up--trim paint, a less harsh patio area--but all told it's (here's that word again) fine. I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

First timer. I had reviewed the menu and photos before arriving and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. Walking in, the establishment was clean and small. The tables were full with groups of people eating. Appeared clean. The gentleman working the counter asked if I had been in before and then explained the menu to me. He was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Seahawk Bowl to go and ate it in my car in the parking lot. ( so I could listen to a podcast) The portion size was very large. It looked amazing. The seaweed salad was standard and tasted great. The fruit and corn salad mix were nice and fresh. The tuna on top was mostly ok, but I did have some bad cuts. The only thing that really turned me off was the Crab. It was very warm and rubbery. Maybe I just don't prefer it warm or I was not expecting that. I recently went in for their 9th Anniversary when they were offering any of their bowls for $9. It was pretty busy for dinner, but the staff made short work of the line. I have been coming to Miso for around a year now and have tried all 3 locations. They are pretty consistent from one to the next. When I first came I was "WOW'd!" and started getting the rice bowl with grilled chicken almost daily for lunch. Great prices and good quality. Then I got sick and when I recovered I tried a rice bowl and it didn't taste right. I thought it was just me, but 2 months later it's just not quite the same flavor profile I was used to. The only change I am aware of was the removal of red cabbage from the ingredients list. I wonder if anyone else feels the same? Will red cabbage ever be offered again? I am coming more like once a month now. Is it just me or did the cabbage add that much to the dishes? I do looove red cabbage.. Side note: after talking to a Miso-loving friend she noted that when some of the chicken drippings/juice is added to the bowl it adds a lot of flavor. Overall: Would recommend to my friends but wouldn't call it a "must go" place. Location: They are pretty close to the Fred Meyers and have other shops near by. It can be hard to find for those not from the area and using a GPS, it's next to Papa John's. Parking: They have some parking directly in front but I don't imagine that you should have a problem with it. Menu: Very simple and easy to understand, it's like a Chipotle Asian fusion where you pick your base and if you like it with a nori wrap, burrito or a bowl. Food: I got the Classic on brown rice with cucumbers, carrots in a nori wrap. It had plenty of flavor from the Kim Chi, maybe too much flavor as the rice was really soft. The steak was cut too thin which also didn't help. I regret getting the nori wrap because the sauce that comes with it and the Kim Chi made it really soft and hard to stick together. We always love MiSo. Their staff are on point and so friendly. The owners are phenomenal and do the most. I work for the state and we frequently cater through MiSo. I have never been disappointed and neither have my colleagues. They come in, set up, and the food is delicious. My husband and I have started doing pick-up orders on the way home because it's that good. If you want something that is fit, fast, and fresh, then MiSo is your place. The veggies are always quality and the chicken is seasoned perfectly. The corn slaw is to die for. The sauces are even better. I cannot say enough good things about this business. Also, add the $2 for the miso soup. My favorite around. I live in Lewis County and will drive all the way to Lacey/Oly to get the soup from these guys. It's chewy and gets stuck in our teeth because it's not cooked all the way. When we first came here a few yrs ago we couldn't get enough and came back pretty often. Miso is our favorite place to eat as a family! My kids are very active in sports, I'm a teacher and my husband is a firefighter so when we do eat out we like to pick the healthiest option if we need a quick grab & go lunch or quick dinner after a late practice. Miso is our spot for that, the food is amazing! All four of our kids live to eat here as well. We have pretty much tried almost everything on the menu. I get the chicken and rice bowl with veggies and curry sauce. I love their seaweed salad!!! It's hard to find good seaweed salad. Overall this place is just alright. I didn't really like the corn or the kimchi but the meat, veggies, and rice were all pretty good. They also put a bunch of sauce on top so if I come here next time I'll definitely ask for light sauce or sauce on the side.
