*Our family lives near Big Toms so my review is really a comparison. I've always heard of Vans but never tried it until the other week. The food was fine, I liked their fry sauce, and on the day I went the line wasn't long. However I found the portions to be a bit small for the price and there was an error checking me out (which only I caught) where I had to be refunded and recharged. For how out of the way Vans is for our family I don't think we'll be frequent customers but I'm glad we got to try it. read more

It was my first time ordering and coming to Vans burger. Ordered a chocolate milk shake, a burger and two order of fries. The burger was so big that I was able to share it with my daughter. Shake was in a small cup. Microphone is a bit old so you hard to speak a little louder and clear for them to capture your order. Please be nice to the people working here, the time I went it was super busy and someone behind me was being a bit rude to them. Very bad portion sizes for price. 4$ for a very very small portion of fries and onion rings. Burgers are good but I'm very disappointed with the portion sizes and how it was handled at the restaurant when I spoke to them. We've been in WA for almost a year and this is by far the best burger we've had since our move here. We ordered 2 Big Pete's Cheeseburgers, 2 orders of Frings (1/2 French fries with some Orion rings) and a chocolate milkshake. Burgers were cooked to perfection and everything tasted so fresh. The fries weren't bad but I also wasn't mind blown. The chocolate milkshake was delicious. It was perfectly thick, silky and had the perfect chocolaty taste. Driving up to the drive thru window we were greeted very nicely by their cashier. Very sweet and polite. Something this simple always adds to the experience. The line was long but moved pretty quickly, regardless it was worth the wait! We recommend this burger joint and will obviously be returning customers. read more

The food wasn't very good. The burger was either cooked for way too long or left in under a hot lamp for far too long. I paid a lot of hard earned money only to eat only one bite as it was that bad. I finally made it out to the renowned Van's Burger! Worth the wait... a cut above "fast food". They have very select hours of business and really make the wait worth it. I would place them far above any typical fast food burger place and even in the top of many dine-in options (they have a few picnic benches but are a drive through). I went big with a Big Pete Double (hold the onions and sauce... I am picky), a XL Chocolate Shake (secret menu item ;), some fries, a 1/4 Pound Corn Dog, and a Strawberry Shortcake (limited). The burger is fresh and has a good texture, juicy, and might believably be about 1/2lb for this burger. Not quite Gourmet level... but WAY above what most places deliver. A great burger you won't regret that's worth the wait and customer service that makes you feel welcome and valued from start to finish. For now we are looking at the food for the review. The staff was super friendly, so no issues there. I had been told about this spot from a few people that live near the area. I've been told they have amazing burgers and that they make hand dipped corn dogs - sign me up!!! Hand dipped, fresh corn dogs are hard to find anymore so when I heard that, I was on a mission! I live in north Puyallup so getting down here at the right time and the right day can be difficult. First day that I tried, I showed up and they were closed. The second time I tried, they had shut down for the day due to high heat - totally get it, just wish they would have updated it online. So we thought okay, 3rd time is the charm. Finally arrived only to discover that they no longer have corn dogs Oh well, sucks but not the end of the world. So we got a cheeseburger, a fair burger and an order of fries. Fries were luke warm, overcooked and barely there. It was like someone grabbed a small half handful and tossed them in - they didnt even fill half the of the bag they came in. Disappointed. Next come the burgers, looked delish, smelled delish. Burgers were okay, I wouldn't say they were amazing but not bad either, just a burger. It may have been due to arriving close to closing time, so I am willing to give them another shot the next time I'm in the area but for now, not impressed folks. The burgers are tip top notch. Freshly ground, handmade, never frozen & all of the ingredients are fresh daily. That's one of the reasons they are open year around. Be prepared to wait in line for an hour- we don't care though definitely worth it. the burgers are thin but huge , my husband usually gets a double cheeseburger but here the single patty is more than enough. Love the crinkle cut fries & onion rings. The burger/fry sauce is great. The fresh corn dog *chefs kiss*. Chocolate peanut butter banana milkshake- to die for. Love the little picnic table area that you're able to sit down & enjoy the weather & food at on a nice day. Customer service is great, I use their fb page to check when they're open/updates. Great little burger stand with amazing burgers and onion rings! Also have a Snack Shack for shakes and corn dogs. They don't need my review as there is always a long line wrapping around the building during their limited schedule. Managed to make it for the last day of the year that are open. It was a one and a half hour wait but it was worth it. Even got an extra for my better half and she loved it even after heading it up 4 hours later. Speaks to the flavor and quality.
