I have heard about this place for years, finally stopped by for some burgers. We caught them just before a rush, so ordering was easy and we got our food fairly quickly. I was impressed by the size of our burgers, and the portion of the fries. My burger was very good. And the fries were really good. Little hole in the wall place, clean, good signage, and greeted with a smile! We got a couple of kids burgers, chicken strips (nothing exciting, basic frozen fillets, but they liked them) the small fry (super yummy fries) all 5 of us shared, and the fried zucchini we loved SO MUCH, the coating didn't come off! Love the Herfy's brand as it's usually a one-off restaurant. Too many of the Seattle area H's have closed in recent years, but when I find one it's pretty much a sure thing. In Olympia after driving my better half to an event @ the Capitol. Big Tom's closed but Herfy's popped up a short drive away. Quite an expansive menu. Friendly counter gal answered my questions; I was tempted by the fish & chips but stuck with her recommendation of the Bacon Cheeseburger, made it a Double & a meal (fries & soda) Food cooked to order so takes a bit of time, but truly worth the wait. Really thick, flavorful angus patties, well seasoned. Excellent fries. Got some fry sauce & tartar sauce for the fries; both were fresh and tangy. A pleasant surprise as we were looking for a bite to eat on the east-side of Olympia. The business on a Thursday night spoke volumes to how this is a local favorite here. A note that it's a little tough to find seating inside as it's quite tight. A hearty and hefty burger no matter which one you get. We got the Cowboy Burger and the Sourdough Burger. The patty wasn't too dry which is great for one that comes that thick. The Cowboys burger got a little messy, but still fill you up. And the Sourdough Burger had a homemade feel to it. I thought the california burger was delicious - the patty was thick, cooked well, and very juicy! I could tell they use fresh meat. I also loved how generous they were with the vegetables, pickles, and avocado My friend said the mushroom burger was good as well, though she "complained" saying it was "too big". I think that just means we got our bang for our buck - we both only ate half of burgers and half the fries. Huge portions! The french fries and sweet potato fries were also really good. They were super warm and crispy. The sweet potato fries especially were my favorite. I don't think either were salted, which I personally prefer. They were thicker fries, but not dry and were coated in just the right amount of batter. We arrived a little bit after lunch and there were a few parties who ordered ahead of us. Despite that, all the food came out in only about 10-15 minutes. And while busy, the servers and girl at the front counter was super friendly. When the orders slowed down, the owner came out from the back to ask how I was enjoying my food. She was really sweet! The interior was simple and clean. I can see this place getting busy during lunch and dinner rush, but there was plenty of table and counter spaces at 3 pm on a Monday. It's located in a complex with plenty of free parking, which is always a plus! This is a great happy medium between total fast food chains like McDonals and more expensive burger places - great quality for a fair price. Came in. They play movies. We caught the tail end of a horror movie. The person taking our order seemed like she didn't want to be working here. They got some orders wrong and took a very long time turning a single burger into a double burger while fulfilling other people's orders ahead of mine that wasn't ordered right. Bathroom is clean. However the burgers here are worth all of it. I got a double hamburger only lettuce and ketchup but the burger patties were the most flavorful and juiciest I've had in a long while. Definitely recommend if you are willing to wait for a really good burger. Also be vigilant that your order was taken correctly otherwise you have to pay to fix it and wait that much longer. I called Kayla who had served me and she apologized as she had put together the wrong order. Had a Herford burger and noticed that the execution of the stuff was excellent. The burger itself was not a quarter pound. It was 1/ third of a pound. It was juicy lettuce, tomato, onion, and sauce. Along with the hamburger I got an order of side of fries, which were done perfectly crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside, and only done perfectly they were they were bigger than most sides of fries. Lastly, I had onion rings and again fried very pulled out and you've been into them and that was great for the buff.
