The flavors blew me away, I am always so skeptical of Chinese restaurants because I have not had any good ones. This one knocks it out of the park! I got sweet and spicy chicken which was crispy and had lots of sauce! I would have liked more veggies and pineapple but overall it was good. After looking at the reviews I went to Lime Leaf for a Thai dish food fix. Ordered chicken with gravy 25a and spring rolls. First the spring rolls were ok leaned a little chewy but the peanut sauce was good. The chicken i was not a fan. It came in a large piece so the presentation was great. However the chicken was overcooked and the breading fell off at the first bite. The gravy had zero flavor I did order 1 star and maybe that was my mistake. What a find! I'm picky when it comes to Asian food, and especially anything fusion. But this restaurant makes it work, the food and the vibe and the friendliness of the staff. Open spacious seating, I love how clean and bright the interior is. I ordered a few dishes and was impressed by all of them. The Chinese Eggplant dish was my favorite, it had fresh and crunchy veggies and the heat was decent. It's on a scale of 1-5, and I got the five. The first time I tried the chicken phad Thai, it tasted ok, but not like I'm used to. The second time, my son was craving pho it was close by the fields he was playing soccer so I thought I should try it again. That day it was a warmer day and the cook said they didn't have pho because it was too hot. So my son ordered pad see ew. When it came out, I was confused because they didn't even use the noodles that are usually used in pad see ew and again, the flavor was not what we were used to. I really like that Lime Leaf is close to my neighborhood. We don't have many good restaurants in south Lacey. The staff has always been friendly and the food had always been good. They have good portion sizes and food comes out quickly even when they are busy. On this occasion my group ordered and shared the following; spring rolls, shaking beef, pad thai, yellow curry, and drunken noodles. The pad that was solid. I do wish the drunken noodles had more vegetables, so next time I will ask for extra. The stand outs were definitely the yellow curry and the shaking beef. Both were super flavorful and we will go back again and order those. The spring rolls are good and fresh. I enjoy how they cut them in half for better sharing. I Almost forgot about the wonderful crab rangoon. This is made with fresh crab, not imitation and you can tell. It has a great crabby flavor that just isn't the same as imitation. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were not very impressive, and are more suitable for people with simple tastes or those who aren't very particular about flavor. I was a bit hesitant when walking in because it was completely empty (this was on a Saturday). The staff were very friendly! We both ordered the beef Pad-See-Ew and it was delicious. Some of best Asian food we've ever had. Don't let the strip mall facade fool you. The setting is quaint with nice cushiony booth seating available. We started with appetizers of "Vietnamese Spring Rolls" (2-2" thick x 6" long rolls cut in half) for $8. These were huge and delicious, filled with pork and prawns. We also had a second appetizer of "Egg Rolls" with the chicken option, which appeared to be made in-house, and were scrumptious (4 for $8) For the entrée's, I ordered the "Almond Asian Fusion Chicken", served on an oversized plate which the huge panko breaded chicken breast covered from edge to edge. The breast came topped with an unobtrusive layer of orange/almond gravy with a side dish of more gravy, giving a choice of how much gravy to use. The vegetables comprised of steamed cabbage and carrots were cooked perfectly aldente', all for the bargain price of $19.95. My friend had the "Lime Leaf Special Beef" again served on an oversized plate and comprised of a very generous portion of braised top sirloin coated in a special sweet sauce with spicyness of your choice, and a generous side of steamed vegetables. When my friend had questions about this dish and the possibility of substitutions, the chef was so accommodating. She came out and personally described the contents and substitution options, promising to make the dish to my friends liking until it was to right. No correction was necessary. Again, all for the extremely reasonable price of $20.85. All toll our food bill totalled $56.80 and had enough leftovers to cover dinner for days to come. Not wanting to go though the whole search process, we chose Lime Leaf as is what near a coffee shop where we had a meeting. After checking Yelp and seeing they were new, we were excited to visit. Walking in, it did not scream Asian, the decor was minimal, but it was inviting. The staff greeted us quickly and the smell was mmmm. Looking at the menu, it was like reading a kids book with one category per page. After many page turns we settled on our choices Dana had the Lemongrass chicken. It was a very large portion and the lemon grass scent and flavor was tasty. The problem was that it grew old and cold fast. The flavor was really good but it was one note with nothing but raw shredded cabbage and carrots to compliment it. I had the Mongolian Beef with a spice level of 5 out 5. The sauce was thick and sweet, the veggies were all sauteed well and it had a layered flavor with the sauce overpowering it near the end, there was so much sauce I used rice to saturate. As far as the spice level; it was more like 5/10 but the server said they were still experimenting with the levels. One thing I think would help is to have 0-5 instead of 1-5. We heard many customers ask what number is no heat. Overall, the things we have mentioned are all easy changes and they are definitely trying to please the customer. Hey, any restaurant that opens during covid has to be ready to fight for their growth and I think Lime Leaf is up to the task. Picked up Pad Thai with tofu to go-- $22. I opened my meal at home, NO veggies; bean sprouts, carrots, basil and no peanut sauce. Just noodles and tofu with scant sauce. I had asked before leaving if everything was in there as it was a single box, the young man said everything was mixed together. For dinner, I again ordered the Lime Leaf Chicken, and my husband ordered the Lime Leaf Special Beef. Once again, the food was delicious, though the chicken was on the dry side. I also tried the spring rolls - they were great, but I didn't care for the hoisin-like sauce they came with. Best service first and best food of all time. My family and I love the food and family that run, cook, and serve. My best friend and I took a take out menu and worked through it.
