Really great stop on the way through Lacy. The staff was very very nice, we came half an hour before closing and they were happy to seat us. It was nice and calm inside with great decor and though I didn't have any cocktails the bar and drinks I saw coming out looked great. All the food we had was good, just what you would expect for delicious Thai food. I would absolutely recommend the vegetarian wontons they were fantastic. Great family dining; huge menu and something for everyone. Large vegetarian / veggie menu as well as meat and seafood options for traditional dishes. Really loved the servicing sizes and it's well worth your money! I got a 2/5 stats spice on my noodles (mild) and it was incredibly light spice, which I think is very approachable. I'd definitely up my spice level next time because I prefer a kick. Staff is very kind and well informed, casual dining also be prepared for a 90 minute meal. I went to Lemongrass this weekend for lunch with friends! It was a nice surprise! The decor is cute, the pear kamikaze was tasty and the Thai salad with crispy tofu was fantastic! My friends had the prawn mango salad and the mi quang and both were pleased! My salad was a giant bowl of crispy, fresh vegetables with crunch and perfectly spiced tofu and a tangy, sweet-sour dressing! Yum. The only problem was what to order? The whole menu is fantastic. We have always loved Lemongrass but have to admit, we've always eaten in BUT tonight we did takeout and were sadly disappointed, specifically the peanut sauce (for shrimp spring rolls) seemed watered down and we had to pay extra! The Mongolian Beef had very little beef but was chocked full of peppers and we received one container of rice to share where when you dine in, seems you receive that amount for one person! We're hoping this was just an "off night" as we've always enjoyed Lemongrass but if not, we'll be frequenting Shanghai as we've never had a bad mean, whether eating in or for take out! read more

Lemon grass is honestly amazing. No matter how busy the dining room is, the servers are friendly and efficient. Such a great ambiance especially for a date night or even first date. We were craving Thai food and decided to try this restaurant out. I like how big it is so you have a variety of choices on your where to sit. We typically get fried rice, a curry, and a soup dish whenever we go to a Thai restaurant. They unfortunately do not have Panang curry but we ended up getting the yellow curry. It was good but not be greatest. Their fried rice we enjoyed. My husband always gets tom yum soup but he said something was missing from the taste. Overall it was a decent restaurant if you need space for a big party. read more

It's a gorgeous dining room with pretty good food. They even have a patio for outdoor seating, but it wasn't open on Sunday for lunch, so we'll have to come back to see if they are dog friendly. I liked the food, but they lose a star for the papaya salad that got me sick because it had peanuts in it. That dish had me in bed for hours as I waited for the pain from my peanut allergy to go away. Service has always been friendly, if a bit sporadic on attentiveness. Price is a bit above average for Thai food, but quality of the dishes easily justifies the slightly premium price. I absolutely love this restaurant I've never officially dined in, It's always been take out. So, I can only describe the ambiance as very clean, and welcoming. The restrooms are bright, clean, dusty around you, but the main surfaces you use were clean. Nothing major. I have no idea why I even noticed when I was drying my hands. The staff has always been very friendly and nice. The only name I can remember off hand is Eddie (I'm sorry) They're all so very wonderful, every time I've ordered take out. Between every restaurant trying to stuff plates with rice and/beans/Vegetable garnishment, it's such a waste. So, besides being a little expensive, and small on their portion sizes. Their crab wan-tans are very small as well. Not much in the middle. I didn't taste any crab, maybe they forgot the crab?? I just left them. They were a replacement because they had forgotten to put them in my Easter order. Speaking of Easter. They are open many major holidays that other restaurants are closed. That's a huge bonus!! I have dined here many times over the years it has been open. It is still a lovely restaurant but the quality of the food and the service has deteriorated significantly in the last years. The server was over extended and at first seemed to be rushed because I think that she was the only person waiting on tables. My dinner was bland and not the quality I think that I deserve considering the expense. I am not likely to return because I am disappointed by the restaurant. This restaurant wasn't bad, but wasn't that good either. I had Pad Thai. It was good, but to be honest, I've had way better. The peanut sauce was good, but again, everything here was just average. The vegetarian pot stickers were okay. I wouldn't get them again. Someone at my table only got the pot stickers and hated them. Service, again, was average. There was barely any tables filled so I feel they could have been faster. Something good though is this restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean. The more I go here, the less I like it. I've been here probably 6 times. The first time it was great and it's slowly been going downhill. Staff don't seem to be knowledgeable of the menu. Mixed drinks are expensive and not strong. Worst pad see ew I've ever had. Last time we had a family event the banquet room floor was dirty even though they had just opened. The booth I sat in tonight looked and felt like it had been terrorized by the angriest cat in Thurston County. The only reason I would ever come here again would be if my family made me. Order had 6 items via doordash and the restaurant sent only 5 that too with 2 of the items with incorrect meat. Ordered Vegetarian Noodles with No Meat and the restaurant sent the noodles made with chicken, and the other fried rice with chicken was made with prawns. Tried calling the restaurant and two of the servers were unable to understand the problem, and finally a manger took the call and mentioned they can't do any thing and asked to contact doordash. read more

Spontaneous PreAnniversary dinner date with the wife tonight. Service was spot on and timing of appetizers to main course was perfect. Food was decent but nothing to write home to mom about. Restaurant had a calming environment almost romantic. "Crab" and cream cheese won tons were cooked to perfection but could not even remotely verify there was any crab meat in them. Pretty sure it was all cream cheese. Dipping sauce was great! "Prawn" Spring Rolls were light and tasty but the "prawns" were definitely small shrimp. Chili sauce was on point. Pad thai (no pic) was plated well and tasted better than most I've had but fell far short of the best. Mainly because it lacked creaminess. 7 flavor beef (not sure if that's the exact title but it's close) tasted really good but smelled like wet dog or dog food. Level 4 of 5 spiciness was perfect IMO (I'm a spicy food lover). To end on a couple of good notes...best Lemongrass Mojito I've had and price was reasonable for drinks and a complete meal for 2. Their food is good but they never get orders right. Service and attention to detail are very bad. They have messed up around 75% of my orders, both dine in and delivery. Last time I dined in they never brought out my appetizer and the server checked in so little that she didn't know until the check when I asked her to remove it. The people who brought out our food didn't keep track of which order was which because two of the orders were the same item but one had a dietary change. But they couldn't tell us which was which and never did come to a conclusion. The service dining in has been sorta rude and just not good most times we've been there. Our online order for pick up today didn't have labels at all for two orders of the same meal with different spiciness levels. Upon tasting them they both appeared to have no spice at all. We also didn't get all the sauces we ordered, even though they were an additional charge on the bill. They often screw up the details of the order, but when I get what I actually ordered it is pretty good. read more

The service is amazing and feel welcome every time we go, Dao and Lisa are always there to greet us and have great conversation! Service sucks and food is subpar and Served cold. This is a thorough review so buckle up. Came here for the first time for a relatives birthday. They called in advance to book a reservation for 6:30pm. There were 5 adults and two kids. When we arrived there were 2 other families dining in the whole restaurant. Turns out they either never wrote down the reservation or forgot about it bc they scrambled to grab a round table and put it awkwardly in between booths. We waited quite some time just for our waiter to come up and take our drink order. A waiter passing by stopped and said "you guys haven't been helped yet huh?" We replied with "no but we're ready to order our drinks and apps". A Young waiter, I think I recall his name being Dao, appeared to take our drink and app orders. Our drinks came out and were delicious! As the precursor to our meal, we were excited as we thought we were in for a real treat! As the appetizers came out, we let them know we were ready to order. Altogether we got 3 pad thai's with different spicy levels, 2 chow meins (one with no veggies just the noodles and beef and one with beef and shrimp) an order of Larb (chicken salad) and a side order of steamed rice (for the 5 yr old). Y'all, it took damn near an hour for any of our entrees to come out. They brought out 4 of the 6 entrees. 3 pad Thai's and the chow mein with beef & shrimp. All of the pad Thai's had no spice level added. One of the pad thais had hot (as in heat not spice) noodles but cold chicken, one was all cold (could possibly pass for luke warm) and one was not hot, not cold, slightly warmer than Luke but lacked flavor. The chow mein that had a level 3 spice level looked flavorless. The noodles didn't look like they had any flavor added as they were pale as could be. It also had A couple pieces of meat, a small handful of noodles but a healthy portion of veggies. About 10 minutes goes by when The waiter comes out and says the cook messed up on the chow mein and only put beef in it. We told him that's exactly how she ordered it so that was just fine. He then said "oh wait, she made it with chicken then. So is it okay if she has both chicken and beef?" We agreed as we just wanted the rest of the food at that point. There were a ton of dirty plates that were scattered around the table so I put them all in a pile and a busser passing by offered to take them. Not the waiter. The poor 5yr old could not grasp why other people were eating and he was starving. We adults also could not grasp why a small side order of rice would not be ready to serve and would come out AFTER several entrees were brought out. After the waiter finally brought out the reminder of the orders he was never to be seen again. No coming back to provide refills, no checking in to make sure things were tasting ok, nothing. Again, the waiter working the other side of the restaurant saw us sitting there for 20 minutes with napkins on plates, drinks completely gone, twiddling our thumbs waiting for the check. So he comes over and says "you guys haven't seen your waiter for a while, have you?" We said NOT AT ALL. We asked the other waiter for the check and he said he would get Dao to ring us up. We watched as he walked to the back to get Dao. It literally took 10 minutes for him to come up and ask us how we were doing. I asked him for the check, then if they were busy. He said "no, we're not busy but I was just helping out with some stuff in the back". I told him we have places to be and things to do and would appreciate it if he could just ring us up so we can leave. He rang us up and our bill reflected higher prices than what was on the menus. We had been there so long though that none of us cared to fight it. We payed the price and promptly left. Everyone complained that their dinner was bad. Whether it was cold, simply not what they ordered, flavorless etc. My order of Larb on the other was was delicious! I loved it. So out of 6 dishes, only one was worth eating. Everyone else on here who has posted reviews of their servings being skimped are NOT misleading at all. We witnessed it. The same orders came out with different sized portions, some much smaller than the plate next to it. One star bc the server literally did not give a hoot that he was a waiter who had guests that he was supposed to be serving. He was non existent and it was very present to the waiter working the other side. Also bc the food for everyone (except for mine) sucked. I highly do not recommend going here unless you want to spend hours sitting around waiting for your server to do their job. read more

Visited late Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a quiet, peaceful lunch of stir fried veggies, cashews and chicken while my dining partner had pad Thai. I asked for a heat rating of 3 out of 4 and received a mildly spicy dish. That's okay--the veggies were fresh and well prepared in a light sauce. It was a solid four stars. The pad Thai was so mild and missing veggies that it was bland and meh. Too bad, because pad is food of the gods. 3 stars for this. The Blue Moon came in a frosted glass and hit the spot. I used to live and Lacy and me and my wife tried this place. It's my favorite Thai restaurant as I love their curry. Great atmosphere and we made it a regular date night spot. I have sense then moved to Hawaii but made it back to Tacoma this week and Lemon Grass was my first stop. I was busy tonight so called in a pick up order. Upon entering we were welcomed by a lot of other impatient customers who were waiting to be seated. I think we waited about 5 minutes before anyone even came to the front to greet us and finally seat us. During that time more people came in and were wondering what was taking so long and why there were too many people standing around. Someone needs to be on top of this and greet customers as soon possible. The restaurant was not half filled so it shouldn't have taken that long. Maybe because it's the holidays a lot of people took off but restaurants must prepare for this. This was our first time eating and I was excited to try it out for my birthday and I've heard so many grand reviews. I ordered the Mango Tango for drinks and oh my goodness it's pretty strong and delicious. I got the vegetarian wonton for an appetizer and the Jungle Prince. The vegetarian wontons were a little hard on the outside but they were delicious and we left none behind. The Jungle Prince is a vegetarian dish cooked in this flavorful sauce of spices and coconut milk, it was absolutely amaaazing. I plan to go back here and try the other dishes.
