    Pork belly sliders
    Nikki C.

We stopped by on a Wednesday night and it was lively without feeling crowded. The bar lighting was sultry and honestly gave off "red room" vibes, in a fun, mysterious way. We came in planning on desserts and drinks, but the dessert options were pretty limited, so we ended up just getting drinks and pork belly sliders. No regrets, just adjusted expectations. I ordered the Breakfast at Tiffany's cocktail and it was almost Tiffany blue and came with a tiny ring tied to a blue ribbon. Super cute and definitely a fun touch. No proposal involved, but still impressive. The pork belly sliders were good. The meat was tender, the flavor was solid, and the raw jalapeño added a nice kick. Nothing mind blowing, but definitely enjoyable. This is absolutely a date night kind of place. It is dark, red, and gives off sexy vibes throughout. The beer selection was not great, but the cocktails were fun, playful, and clearly the highlight. Great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and a flirty night out.

I don't usually give out 3 stars but I've been to this place two times now and although the actual setting is cool - dark, speak easy type - I found the service and food/drinks OK. The name itself is deceiving because it seems like it would be a strip club or something. It is a small, lounge-type space (long and rectangular) with some booths or bar seating. There two areas that could fit more than 4 people if needed. The colors are more retro and red/gold/black vibes. The music however is hard to describe. Older times - maybe 50s? Which as you can imagine doesn't give a very diverse type of genre/atmosphere. As for the service, the women (there weren't any men except the owner that I saw or met) unfortunately are not the friendliest. They don't really look at you and seem like you are bothering them vs being patrons. That really turns me off. It also seems like they cater to the "regulars" or maybe that's how I felt since they seemed to be more attentive elsewhere. This to me is very important and I felt that there were some unfair treatment going on. The food was OK- fried food - we had the burger with garlic Parmesan fries. We wanted medium but it came well-done. Too hungry to send back. The drinks were pretty good though and nice variety. All in all, I am not sure if I will come back or refer others to this place. Only if want to try something different, but def not my fave or go to/vibe.

Great service! The chef is amazing and one of the best food and drink experiences I've had!

The Boom Boom Room is such a hidden gem! We tried the Bánh Mì sliders, buffalo chicken wings with the house-made ranch, and a few of their curated cocktails -- everything was absolutely delicious. The food was flavorful and fresh, and the cocktails were crafted to perfection. You can really tell they put thought into each drink. The space itself is small and super cute, giving off a high-end, intimate vibe that makes it perfect for date night. It definitely feels special without being over the top. The only downside was that there wasn't any A/C, so we got a little hot -- but honestly, the great food, drinks, and atmosphere made up for it. We'll definitely be back!

We loved this experience - it had a mid-century modern speakeasy vibe with dim lights, wonderful colors and finishes, and a stunning backlit bar. The food was top notch and the drinks were delightful. Service felt a little slow at times but it also felt like a super low-key dinner party with your coolest hipster friends so we didn't mind. I strongly recommend!!

The aesthetic of the place is nice. It has the old school vibes with the red and black decor and the chandeliers. The seating is all booths unless you sit at the bar. We waited quite a while to be seated and it appeared that there was only one server working. In general, service was a little slow. Everyone ordered drinks, I got the breakfast and Tiffany's. The drink tasted alright but I didn't realize there would be edible glitter on it. I couldn't get over how it looked like soap to me and it was unappealing. I ordered the Lil Saigon Sliders. It wasn't quite what I expected as I thought the pork belly would be one slice. Because it was small pieces of pork it was a little messy to eat. We got an order of fries to share with the parm and garlic. That was good. Smells like the garlic fries at a stadium.

If you're in Tacoma make sure you visit the Boom Boom Room. We walked in to a small space, but we had a grand time. BBR is decorated in an old school Vegas fashion. Dim lights. Round booths. Dinner. Music. And drinks. Don't get in a hurry while you're here. Just sit back and have a good time. To start with, our bartender (I'm sorry I don't remember his name) was such a nice guy. Attentive. Patient. Friendly. Made a mean Sazerac. All of our cocktails were very good. Our bartender had the chef come to our table to tell us what we should order. Instead we ended up with dessert, drinks, and lively conversation. He's from Vegas. Ended up in Tacoma because his buddy was opening this place, and he knows food and he knows Vegas. He was funny and entertaining. As we talked somehow the topic of chocolate came up. My wife said "now I want chocolate!" We hadn't even ordered dinner and Chef Vegas (I forgot his name too) say "hold on. I got you". He leaves and retuns with dessert. I delicious blonde brownie topped with ice cream and drizzled with caramel and chocolate. Eventually we decided on dinner. We ordered the fish and chips as it's easily shareable. Chef said I would like the tartar sauce he makes. I assured him I do not like tartar sauce anywhere. He proved me wrong. The fish was really good. Perfectly cooked to golden brown. Crispy on the outside but not overcooked. The fries were the kind that have the crunchy coating of some kind. Making them delicious. Another round of drink. Wife had the tiki blinders. Definitely a dessert drink meaning it's its own dessert in liquid form. Sweet but tasty. When we were finally ready for our check the bartender comes over. He asked if we were ready. We told yes and he says "ok, we're doing shots!" And comes back with shots for us and himself. We had a wonderful time at BBR, and the next time we're in Tacoma we will return.

Had a delicious meal & excellent drinks in a great ambiance here! Boom, boom, boom, boom, I want you in my room! This Boom Boom Room is actually as it says - pretty much one room (with one private add-on room on the side). It was much smaller in here than I anticipated, but it made it all the more cozy and cool feeling. There is a small bar on one side and some booths on another that make for a great date night spot or hang with friends. The red lighting helps set the cool, sexy mood too. The bartenders were so great and on top of it, they made sure I had great food and drinks (which I did!). The bartedner even made me his special Reeses-type espresso martini that I enjoyed as my "dessert", so even though it's not on the menu you might be able to ask for that! For dinner I got the Braised Pork Belly Banh Mi Sliders which were suuuuuper yummy. Just the right portion size for what I was looking for and not too much (3 decent sized sliders). Great on their own or as an app to share ahead of time! Lots of their food sounded very tasty, but I was happy with all of my decisions and had a lovely evening here.

Had some delicious and sweet filled churros for dessert!

Oooh! After going to the Boom Boom Room Steve and I left there wondering why we didn't come here earlier on when we first heard about it. We absolutely loved our experience here! We were puzzling over where we wanted to sit and were offered the Sinatra Room which was a room off from the main area of seating which we really liked! Atmospheric from head to toe we loved the look here. The food was excellent! We had a Hummus Plate and a Quesadilla. Ingredients tasted super fresh and it was very flavorful and vibrant just like the atmosphere! Since it is classified as a cocktail bar we of course had to try some of those. I got the Smoked Old Fashioned which was superb! Perfectly made and nice and strong cocktail! I have taken a fondness to this cocktail recently but interestingly enough it was a mocktail version and I was really wanting to try the alcoholic version and the version here did not disappoint in the slightest! I really enjoyed this place a lot and it brings me hope that Tacoma's bar scene is bringing in some uniqueness and novelty to dining and drinking experiences and hope only more concept type places (the bar is going off of mid-century cocktail culture... kind of a Rat Pack vibe too) like this open in town. I know for certain that I will be back to Boom Boom Room!

A true gem of a space in Tacoma. An intimate cocktail lounge where the bartenders are passionate about their service and your experience.

    Is there a happy hour?

Hi Aurora, thanks for the question! We don't have a set "Happy Hour", but we do have monthly cocktail specials, and a weekly "Fresh Sheet" with delicious, limited-time, food menu items . Stay tuned though, there's more happening soon ;-)

Music? ? Dancing (like actual dancing, not thrash mosh pit garbage.. I'm damn near 50)?

This is a lounge for sitting and drinking with music and nice vibes. Not a dance club or dance lounge. You can catch a two step on the way to the bathroom if you like lol, that's about it tho. Very small inside.

Can they accomodate a group of 10 or more to sit together?

A group of 10 would be the maximum amount of people we could sit together.

Had to go to the bar to get service and order which is ok. The drink menu was a QR code, which I appreciate but I also like physical menus. The food menu is minimum and didn't order anything. The ambience is definitely different. Quirky, fun, good instragramable place. Unfortunately, when we arrived although cozy there was a strange smell like burnt candle or burnt something. The candles they have are LED so ruled that out. This is my 2nd time. I would give better review but I am a little disappointed by their overall offerings.

At first glance it appears super tiny, but the bar goes back pretty far and is a good size. We got there before the nighttime crowds and managed to score the cozy couch in front of the fireplace in the back. It filled up quickly after that, though! The mood is moody and cozy, the perfect spot for making this apart of date night. I can't speak much to the food as we did not order any, but the menu is pretty elevated for a bar. I wouldn't say this place is divey at all, but the menu was still surprising. Service was good and they had a great selection of drinks. I got a hazy IPA (as per usual) and it was delicious! We also got a couple of shots here and absolutely adored the shot glasses they use. They look like tiny cocktail glasses! Overall we thought Holy Moly was a vibe and we will definitely include this in our 6th Ave rotation.

She was super nice, our waitress too. The place itself is very cute, super noisy (be mindful if you have hearings aids or are prone to sensory issues because it is CRAZY loud - so much so that they have noise reducing panels all over the ceiling and walls). It's very much a romantic aesthetic but the tiny tables become a nuisance when they bring you a plate per food item (steak and fries come separately, etc). The food itself is where we were kind of... disappointed is too strong a word, but something nearing it? We ordered the bread (which should never be $7 but here we are), the French onion soup, the steak and frites and the scallops. I'm a Spaniard so I'm very used to carne en salsa de pimienta, which I feel is what the steak sauce was meant to be. It was, don't get me wrong, it was just pepper on steroids! It definitely wakes you up!! It was missing some other spice or herb that I couldn't quite place but it wasn't bad at all, just definitely strong. Personally, the steak was well cooked but my husband said it was too dry for medium. The fries were very tasty but we are still team duck fat, and the soup was okay, but we've had tastier. Our main gripe was with the scallops. Keep in mind that the scallops were $47 (the steak was $45). The scallops were served over a bed of lentils and radish slices for some reason. Well, lentils, radishes AND ginger. By ginger, I mean all of the ginger in all the worlds' countries. Horseradish could give this dish a run for its money in the nasal clearing department. We didn't understand the almost Indian flavors in tacoma-french cuisine. It didn't pair well with the scallops and the rest of the menu, honestly. We couldn't eat it so basically we paid $47 for 5 scallops. Lovely that financial journey for us! If you're into sensorial challenges, both auditory and gustation, then Corbeau is the place for you! It's a nice place for a fancy looking dinner, but you won't be able to hold a proper conversation unless you're yelling. Also, don't be surprised - there's a 20% surcharge on every check.

When I arrived, there was no greeter or host present. I went to the empty seat, briefly set down my coat, and dropped off the birthday gift. When I returned to the seat moments later, a member of the wait staff approached me and said, "What do you think we are doing? We seat people here." I asked whether that was how customers are typically greeted. She then stated that I had "tons of privilege" and directed me to leave the bar, including while I was standing near the door waiting for my friends. I understand that businesses have seating policies, but in this instance there was no clear signage or staff guidance upon entry. The situation was handled in a way that escalated rather than clarified the issue and detracted from what was intended to be a birthday celebration. Added after response from owner: You are certainly free to report your side of the story. I was greeted by your staff with the line, "Who the hell are you!" I asked, "Do you greet all of your customers that way." She then berated me and told me that she does if they just walk in and skip the line. Like most bars, with no one present at the front I assumed bar seating was open. Upon greeting my friends I took the seat. In regards to threatening remarks, the only threat I made was that I would leave a review. I used no harsh language and proceeded to the front of the restaurant to wait for my friends who decided to cash out. Your staff member proceeded to continue to berate me and tell me I would be trespassed if I didn't leave the restaurant and stand in the rain. I did leave while she continued to scream at me. Since I did not have context for what you described a simple, "Hi, we seat at the bar here and this is someone else's seat" would have been a great way to greet me. Don't assume I had bad intent just because I was trying to patronize the establishment. I highly suggest you read your reviews and quit attacking your patrons. Based on what I have read you have a serious problem with staff behavior. You spend all of your time on here defending bad practices instead of improving your service. I am happy to say that I will never patronize your business. In addition you lost 14 other customers due to your actions. I was told I must have privilege just to walk in to meet my friends at a bar. You have a clear over inflated sense of self worth to assume your bar is so great that treating customers this way will keep you in business. Best of luck, and you are correct, a place where staff greet you by yelling at you is not a great fit for me. It likely isn't for others as well.

If I hate to scan a QR code for a menu and there aren't even pictures, what's the point? I don't need a fancy menu, but a printed menu is nicer. We got the Skillet Smashed Fingerlings/potatoes appetizer to start, very delicious! My dinner companion got the Classic Smash Burger. She said the burger was great, and she knew there were going to be caramelized onions, but there was a lot packed in the middle of the patty. The novelty wore off quickly. She still said it was good overall. I ordered the Scarlet Rosemary (chicken and homemade pasta), and it was really good. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was fantastic, but the only problem was; there wasn't enough of it (sauce) and when the dish cooled as we ate, you couldn't taste the sauce much. About 7-10 minutes after getting our food, my friend took a bite of my pasta and said "I don't taste any flavor at all" and I realized I was mostly tasting the chicken at this point and I was sliding the pasta in the very small bit of sauce on the plate. I would suggest don't be stingy with the sauce because it was great. Otherwise the food was wonderful and we'll plan on going back.

The only disappointment was we really did not like our tiramisu cake. It contained way too much alcohol for either of our liking and we both don't drink alcohol. This was the strongest alcohol I've ever had in a tiramisu cake. The environment has a unique vibe but the seating was not comfortable and the tables were very small.

Amazing food in a gorgeous atmosphere with great staff that genuinely care about you!!…read more I ordered the beet salad, Mac N Cheese, Crab Cakes, with a Tiramisu and Young & Beautiful cocktail. Everything was phenomenal and FRESH!! Beet Salad was impeccable with perfectly candies walnuts that weren't too sweet or too sticky! The goat cheese was a solid flavor but not overpowering the beets with a mild, refreshing earthy flavor! Mac N Cheese was excellent, the cavatappi noodles were cooked perfectly Al Dente, with a modicum amount of chew, and the Mornay sauce was velvety and clearly made from scratch from a roux! The crab cakes were LOADED with crab and the old bay rolemoulade wasn't overly salty and slightly spicy! The crab cakes were NOT overly coated with a nice this crispy batter! The Tiramisu was awesome, a solid coffee flavor that isn't overbearing and the mascarpone cream was delightful thick and creamy, delicious! The young and beautiful drink was equal parts sweet and tangy with an excellent fizzy pop reminiscent of soda but not overly sweet. I will be back!!!

First, my apologies. I was catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while so forgot to take…read morepics. Nonetheless my review is detailed and honest. My first time at West 122 as I had been wanting to try this for months. Here's the positives... Love the brick and mortar ambiance inside. It just had an overall good community vibe. Presentation of food was beautiful. What else we experienced... My friend ordered a Sprite and I ordered a cocktail. She was served a lemonade and my drink was pretty sour so I ordered some simple syrup. The Sprite came but it took 20 minutes to get my simple syrup. By that time I was sort of over having a cocktail. Honestly, the venue was not full and all I wanted was some simple syrup in a shot glass. We ordered the burrata, caesar salad and the special with the octopus tentacles, asparagus, peppers and capers over polenta. The caesar salad on the menu lists "red gem lettuce tossed in house-made caesar dressing, topped with bread crumbs and shaved parmigiano reggiano. While I liked the idea of not having croutons as they're sometimes difficult to maneuver with a biteful of salad, there must have been a quarter cup of bread crumbs over the top, so much so that you couldn't even see what was underneath. Next, the menu describes the burrata as "creamy burrata with pea vines, roasted peas, pickled asparagus, and artichoke." When it arrived, we were truly wondering if we had ordered the right thing. Only until we moved the sea of greens did we see the burrata. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that we were actually ordering a salad with burrata underneath. Very unfortunate and misleading because my friend ordered the Caesar for dinner and didn't know she was actually getting a second salad. In addition, we ordered the baguette with butter/oil and what came to us for $11 or some rather non descript rolls. The octopus special was the star of the show. The colors, flavors, char on the octopus...everything except that it was surrounded by a fair amount of paprika oil, so much so that I had to work around it in order to not give my stomach a run for my money later in the evening. A dish I wanted to finish but just couldn't because of that issue. In addition to that, refills of water were non-existent and it took close to 50 minutes to get our dinner. Also, our waitperson was very pleasant but seemed rather overwhelmed. Even after waiting 15 minutes for the simple syrup, when she finally did bring it, she looked surprised that I no longer wanted it. Yes, she took it off the bill, but I would have much rather enjoyed one of the specialties of the house. So many mishaps that didn't need to occur. Truly disappointed that our evening went that way.

The environment is cool and hip, art tastefully decorated on the wall. You can definitely tell they put effort into the atmosphere of this bar! Now for their pizza... it is out of this world. It is wood fired so you know they're serious about their food! I go the margarita pizza and passion fruit daiquiri. Both DELICIOUS. Service was quick and efficient with the perfect amount of check ins. Absolutely recommend!

Not a huge fan of the ambience in Bar Rosa, plywood floors and very dark. We were sat in a booth, and it was as the sun was setting. The windows are all illuminated and beyond filthy (inside) - it was hard not to notice with the windows open and leaning towards our table. I also was the unfortunate one to have the sun straight and my face for about half of our dinner. Service was hit or mess. We waited a long time with no check in for more cocktails. The cocktail choices are great, however, they were out of a particular cocktail my friend wanted to order. We started with the meatballs, not good. The sauce however was phenomenal! Meatballs were just very dense and dry. The appetizer came out not even 5 minutes after our order was put in, so they were lukewarm at best. When we ordered our pizza, they were out of the homemade sausage, this was Saturday night at 6pm???, so we ordered the foraged pizza as is. The pizza was delicious. My friends ordered the Marguerita - crust was a bit over done. Food was good- $30 a pizza good, not in my opinion. Hi, generally do not leave negative reviews- I look for the silver lining at majority of restaurants I visit- but this was a tough one for me. Again- maybe an off night.
