Amazing food for a romantic date night. Its a small restaurant with French bistro vibes. It was busy for Friday night and packed because of Valentines day, so thank goodness we reserved ahead of time. Service for how quickly cocktails and food came out was a bit slow but it was expected because they were very busy. I ordered their half dozen oysters, bread and butter, bone marrow, and new York steak with beef fat frites. I have to say the bone marrow was mediocre, but everything else was delicious. The steak was done perfectly. Medium rare and I typically dont go for the new York steak because its more lean, but the chef cooked it beautifully and the sauce (i think it was like a blue cheese sauce) that went on top works well. And omg the beef fat frites is a must get. They were well done, crispy, and has a very rich umami flavor because of the beef fat. I need to come back to try their regular menu.

Loved. Sat at the bar and the bartender was great. I think her name started with an A, don't remember. Great cocktail, fantastic service, and maybe the best fries I've ever had. Date night vibes for sure but I had a great time on my own. Staff is friendly and fast.

My husband and I were able to book a table during Happy Hour. Ive heard Corbeau's Happy Hour is fantastic. Ambiance is fantastic- very cozy inside. We each ordered a cocktail- I tried one not on the Happy Hour menu- I can't recall the name but having just visited Peru- I couldn't pass up Pisco with beet juice- the cocktail was delicious. My husband tried an old fashioned- also great. We shared a fromage platter- which was good -cheeses were all very similar- was hoping for a blue cheese or some type of pungent cheese. We each ordered the burger and frites- was a really great, solid burger- loved it. The bread tasted really fresh. Frites were also fantastic, served with mayo. Lastly, we ordered the Mexican Chocolate bread pudding- not a fan. It was not sweet at all, was really surprised since it was on the dessert menu. Our server said it supposed to be more savory. Meal was great. Service was a bit lacking- really no cadence to checking in.

If you're looking for a great date night spot or want to grab some dinner and drinks with friends, then head to Corbeau, located in the heart of Tacoma's Proctor District. I was hearing really great things about Corbeau, and finally got to experience it when we were there celebrating a friend's 30th birthday. Excellent service, great cocktails, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. Recommendations: For cocktails, the house old fashioned was one of the best I've had in Tacoma. And try the Mushroom Cassoulet with flageolet beans, miso, breadcrumb, and sunny egg. So good! And try the exceptional Burger & Frites with dry-aged Washington ground beef, brioche, arugula, pickled shallot, garlic aioli, served with beef fat fries!

Wanted to update with more photos. Nicest staff and delish food. Only comment is I wish the gnocchi was cooked for a bit longer. We ate every last bit of this meal. Can't go wrong with the wine list either!

Food drinks and service where all 5-stars! Appetizers and cocktails were the favorites. Best date night spot in Tacoma!

We've been here a few times and love corbeau. We took a friend for her birthday dinner last week and it was very good, but honestly a few misses, that we didn't expect. First, let's talk about the food. Ordered the tomato toast and it was by far, the winner of the night. My husband loved it so much he ordered for his main. We also had the pork pate/terrine, also very good. I decided to have the hamburger with frites, good, but just good. I miss the mussels and frites so much!!' The desserts were what really fell short (and I love their beignets....but tonight, not so much) the beignets were super doughy and undercooked. We also got the black sesame crusted fruit something, which was soggy and just not great. I love corbeau so I think just an off night, but please bring back some of the opening dishes. They were excellent! Don't mess with perfection (especially the carrot purée and mussels)

The food here was amazing! My friend took me out to dinner last week and she ordered the steak frites and I had the burger frites. The steak had a yummy, savory almost soy-sauce-y kind of sauce that was delicious. Although she did say it got to be a little salty for her over time. I loved my burger it was cooked to perfection with a little pink, it was juicy and the flavor was immaculate. There's just something about arugula on a burner that I just am obsessed with. Def going back for those beef fat fried French fries as well. Sadly we didn't have enough room for dessert. Def will have to try the beignets next time! Service was pretty great. Did have to wait a long while for some lemon slices for our oyster appetizer. They were busy. Had a nice little chat with our server about how they're partners with "The Table" and how the Table closes down and the new restaurant going in there is being opened by an amazing chef. Will be on the look out for that! As for the ambiance it's very dark and romantic. Gave me date night kind of vibes. The noise level was pretty high and I had to listen a little more closely while chatting with my friend. Other things to mention: - Oysters for starter were good but a bit fishy and they didn't have any tobasco only lemon - Drinks were great and def strong - Street parking

our dining experience at corbeau went above & beyond our expectations!! we used to live in Seattle, so getting to walk to a restaurant of this quality so close to our home felt very reminiscent of that-- what a treat! Food, drinks, service, & atmosphere were all incredible. Everything was so fresh and the garlic aioli is insane (in a good way!) I think our only critiques were that the bread was a bit dry & we'd prefer the fries a bit crispier (but they're so flavorful I didn't really care too much). We're looking forward to more date nights to come at this lovely spot :)

Had to go to the bar to get service and order which is ok. The drink menu was a QR code, which I appreciate but I also like physical menus. The food menu is minimum and didn't order anything. They don't have anything passed 7pm for food which is unfortunate. Also, it was supposed to be trivia night but I didn't see any games or why it wasn't happening. The ambience is definitely different. Quirky, fun, good instragramable place. Unfortunately, when we arrived although cozy there was a strange smell like burnt candle or burnt something. The candles they have are LED so ruled that out. This is my 2nd time. I would give better review but I am a little disappointed by their overall offerings.

At first glance it appears super tiny, but the bar goes back pretty far and is a good size. We got there before the nighttime crowds and managed to score the cozy couch in front of the fireplace in the back. It filled up quickly after that, though! The mood is moody and cozy, the perfect spot for making this apart of date night. I can't speak much to the food as we did not order any, but the menu is pretty elevated for a bar. I wouldn't say this place is divey at all, but the menu was still surprising. Service was good and they had a great selection of drinks. I got a hazy IPA (as per usual) and it was delicious! We also got a couple of shots here and absolutely adored the shot glasses they use. They look like tiny cocktail glasses! Overall we thought Holy Moly was a vibe and we will definitely include this in our 6th Ave rotation.

It's a small place so definitely show up when they're about to open (4pm) bc it'll get crowded by then! Their seating is small so the booths are really for 2 ppl. We were a group of 3 and made it work! Our server was nice and patient with our questions! He said they do this "Christmas pop up bar" during the holidays and fully revamp their menu to be holiday-themed. Everything will be taken down and full menu back in January. I got the Christmapolitan which was lovely! My friend got the cocktail that was named from the Die Hard movie, "Yipee, kai-yay MF" lol. It was pretty good and came in a cute Santa mug with only Santa's bottom half The popcorn chicken was crispy and juicy! Their fries are BOMB, loved the crispiness of it. I got the hot chicken sandwich and it was crispy but kinda got messy and saucey towards the end...overall, pretty good food for what we had and drinks. When I arrived, there was no greeter or host present. I went to the empty seat, briefly set down my coat, and dropped off the birthday gift. When I returned to the seat moments later, a member of the wait staff approached me and said, "What do you think we are doing? We seat people here." I asked whether that was how customers are typically greeted. She then stated that I had "tons of privilege" and directed me to leave the bar, including while I was standing near the door waiting for my friends. I understand that businesses have seating policies, but in this instance there was no clear signage or staff guidance upon entry. The situation was handled in a way that escalated rather than clarified the issue and detracted from what was intended to be a birthday celebration. Added after response from owner: You are certainly free to report your side of the story. I was greeted by your staff with the line, "Who the hell are you!" I asked, "Do you greet all of your customers that way." She then berated me and told me that she does if they just walk in and skip the line. Like most bars, with no one present at the front I assumed bar seating was open. Upon greeting my friends I took the seat. In regards to threatening remarks, the only threat I made was that I would leave a review. I used no harsh language and proceeded to the front of the restaurant to wait for my friends who decided to cash out. Your staff member proceeded to continue to berate me and tell me I would be trespassed if I didn't leave the restaurant and stand in the rain. I did leave while she continued to scream at me. Since I did not have context for what you described a simple, "Hi, we seat at the bar here and this is someone else's seat" would have been a great way to greet me. Don't assume I had bad intent just because I was trying to patronize the establishment. I highly suggest you read your reviews and quit attacking your patrons. Based on what I have read you have a serious problem with staff behavior. You spend all of your time on here defending bad practices instead of improving your service. I am happy to say that I will never patronize your business. In addition you lost 14 other customers due to your actions. I was told I must have privilege just to walk in to meet my friends at a bar. You have a clear over inflated sense of self worth to assume your bar is so great that treating customers this way will keep you in business. Best of luck, and you are correct, a place where staff greet you by yelling at you is not a great fit for me. It likely isn't for others as well.

If I hate to scan a QR code for a menu and there aren't even pictures, what's the point? I don't need a fancy menu, but a printed menu is nicer. We got the Skillet Smashed Fingerlings/potatoes appetizer to start, very delicious! My dinner companion got the Classic Smash Burger. She said the burger was great, and she knew there were going to be caramelized onions, but there was a lot packed in the middle of the patty. The novelty wore off quickly. She still said it was good overall. I ordered the Scarlet Rosemary (chicken and homemade pasta), and it was really good. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was fantastic, but the only problem was; there wasn't enough of it (sauce) and when the dish cooled as we ate, you couldn't taste the sauce much. About 7-10 minutes after getting our food, my friend took a bite of my pasta and said "I don't taste any flavor at all" and I realized I was mostly tasting the chicken at this point and I was sliding the pasta in the very small bit of sauce on the plate. My first time at West 122 as I had been wanting to try this for months. Here's the positives... Love the brick and mortar ambiance inside. It just had an overall good community vibe. Presentation of food was beautiful. What else we experienced... My friend ordered a Sprite and I ordered a cocktail. She was served a lemonade and my drink was pretty sour so I ordered some simple syrup. The Sprite came but it took 20 minutes to get my simple syrup. By that time I was sort of over having a cocktail. Honestly, the venue was not full and all I wanted was some simple syrup in a shot glass. We ordered the burrata, caesar salad and the special with the octopus tentacles, asparagus, peppers and capers over polenta. The caesar salad on the menu lists "red gem lettuce tossed in house-made caesar dressing, topped with bread crumbs and shaved parmigiano reggiano. While I liked the idea of not having croutons as they're sometimes difficult to maneuver with a biteful of salad, there must have been a quarter cup of bread crumbs over the top, so much so that you couldn't even see what was underneath. Next, the menu describes the burrata as "creamy burrata with pea vines, roasted peas, pickled asparagus, and artichoke." When it arrived, we were truly wondering if we had ordered the right thing. Only until we moved the sea of greens did we see the burrata. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that we were actually ordering a salad with burrata underneath. Very unfortunate and misleading because my friend ordered the Caesar for dinner and didn't know she was actually getting a second salad. In addition, we ordered the baguette with butter/oil and what came to us for $11 or some rather non descript rolls. The octopus special was the star of the show. The colors, flavors, char on the octopus...everything except that it was surrounded by a fair amount of paprika oil, so much so that I had to work around it in order to not give my stomach a run for my money later in the evening. A dish I wanted to finish but just couldn't because of that issue. In addition to that, refills of water were non-existent and it took close to 50 minutes to get our dinner. Also, our waitperson was very pleasant but seemed rather overwhelmed. Even after waiting 15 minutes for the simple syrup, when she finally did bring it, she looked surprised that I no longer wanted it. Yes, she took it off the bill, but I would have much rather enjoyed one of the specialties of the house. So many mishaps that didn't need to occur. Truly disappointed that our evening went that way.

I also was the unfortunate one to have the sun straight and my face for about half of our dinner. Service was hit or mess. We waited a long time with no check in for more cocktails. The cocktail choices are great, however, they were out of a particular cocktail my friend wanted to order. We started with the meatballs, not good. The sauce however was phenomenal! Meatballs were just very dense and dry. The appetizer came out not even 5 minutes after our order was put in, so they were lukewarm at best.
