Beignets were mind blowing. Food was great- we ordered a few appetizers, oysters and mains. My only gripe was the steak. It was tough, and chewy. The seasoning, sauce etc was on point, so I figured it was a bad cut, but I've heard this same gripe from other people. Figured I'd share in hopes that someone from management takes note. Bottom line: Decor is beautiful, service was efficient and obviously trying to warrant that 20% included service charge, and the food largely tastes good. But we were disappointed in the variety of the menu (there's really not much there) and the small portion sizes for the price. I lived in France for a time, and the bread, chicken, and frisee salad definitely tasted like something one would have in a bistro there. The burger was fine, but you can get a good burger in a lot of other places for less money. Additionally, my husband requested that it be cooked medium rare and it was well done. Fries were clearly fried in beef fat so they tasted better than average, but I was disappointed that the chicken dish included a tiny thigh and breast portion, but didn't come with a starch to accompany the small bit of veggies. The sauce was tasty, but too salty. The restaurant clearly wants to cater to people who love cocktails and good wine. We are not those people, so I can't speak to the quality of anything on that front. They made a point to state that they have a sommelier "on the floor" with whom you can consult should you wish, and maybe that's one of the things you're paying for with the 20% service charge. As far as value for the money, for us it felt over-priced. With the included gratuity, our bill came to over $100 and we didn't get drinks or dessert and split one salad. We also ordered the less expensive entrees. There's also a $6 charge for the (delicious) 1/4 loaf of bread, which felt a little stingy. Corbeau is fantastic! At this point I've worked my way through much of the menu and can attest to the quality and consistency. Do yourself a favor and get the steak frites and a cocktail....it is soooo good. Ambience is inviting and warm, service is great, and the cocktails are superb. read more

As neighbors of Proctor, we feel it's important to support our local small businesses, so we tried Corbeau. First off, the service was excellent. From immediately being greeted and shown to our table, to the lovely woman who served us, this got an A+. I like a small menu which I appreciate, so Corbeau's menu was great for me. It was recommended that I order the 1/2 chicken, my husband had the burger and frites. He enjoyed the burger very much as well as the fresh oysters he had for an appetizer. The chicken was just okay. Very small chicken. The thigh was moist and the skin had a beautiful golden crunch. But the breast was very dry. The side that accompanied it was so odd. I think it was a jicama slaw. It was completely flavorless and such a strange side for a French dish. Why not some beautiful carrots or brussels sprouts? So I got a few bites of chicken for $34. The wine pours are very small. I've heard this from several people who've been to Corbeau and it's so true. Bottom line: they clearly are trying to shore up their investment and expenses by serving small servings of both wine and food. Everything just seemed a bit on the skimpy side. Want to return to give them another shot, but not sure when that will happen. read more

Upscale local spot, was very excited to try this place! Big takeaways: 1. Nice vibes and ambiance. Came here for date night, but it is very loud inside. Can be a bit overstimulating and difficult to talk. 2. Food was very tasty overall. Potato leek soup was 10/10. The beet salad needed more acidity, but entrees (steak frites and mushroom cassoulet) were both well done. Dessert (beignets) was fantastic. 3. Wait times for both food and drink were very very long. We were basically full from our appetizers by the time our entrees came out. Spent a long time waiting to check out when we were ready to leave, hiring more staff would probably help with this issue. 4. There is no upfront disclaimer that I found online or on the menu that there is an automatic 20% gratuity. This should be better advertised especially when prices are high to begin with. Service was mediocre for the cost of the place IMO. Overall I'd give the food a 4/5. 3 stars overall given the noise level (I prefer quieter places for dinner), long wait times, and general service. read more

Overall this is a great addition to the neighborhood. Enjoyed the oysters and beet salad. Steak was ok. Service was excellent. When I asked for a coffee or espresso, they told us it wasn't in their business model and they don't want people hanging out drinking coffee. This was our second visit. I cant tell if the new acoustic tiles made a difference. It is still pretty loud in there. No problem talking to the person next to me, but it would be difficult to talk to everyone in a party of 6. The Brussel sprouts were amazing. Perfectly charred and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The French onion soup was way too sweet for me. I could not finish it. As others have mentioned, the fries could be more crispy. Burger was still great. The sweet potato gnocchi had good flavor, but are too soft. Great ambiance and service. read more

Scallops were expensive but a hit! My favorite was the tuna but others really liked the chicken. Great new spot and killer wine selection.

Love this new Franco- Tacoma restaurant! Beautiful French Bistro in Proctor; lovely design & ambiance. Excellent wine list as well as wine by the glass, beer & cider. I had the mussels frites - one of my favorite meals; best mussels outside Ireland! Rather than a thin broth; they are served in a beautiful carrot ginger puree; I had to order bread, as I couldn't leave it uneaten; even though I'd had fries! My husband had the French Onion soup and raved about it. The place was full and buzzing, yet service was excellent, the right amount of time between ordering & food arriving and great, engaging wait staff! We also appreciate them adding the 20% service charge to their prices - again very European and you're not trying to figure it out and they are paying everyone fairly - you can add more if you wish ( we did, they are that good!). Fantastic Franco-Tacoman eating in the heart of Proctor! Cocktails were fantastic. Wine menu looked amazing but we didn't quite get to it - next time for sure. Sampled the menu pretty widely and everything was great. The chicken and beignets were both especially delicious. The food was good. The hostess was out of control kicking out 2 different groups around us telling them they were over their time limit. They are under staffed and it took us over an hour to get our food and 20 minutes to get our check. The hostess made a comment that we were over our time limit. We would have been happy to leave earlier if our server ever brought us our check. read more
