    Clam chowder
    Kathryn Y.

Beautiful restaurant. Super friendly service and yummy food. Made an order to go for the brewery next door. I had two mahi mahi tacos. Served on a flour tortilla with a delicious white sauce. A piece of grilled Mahi mahi and a side of coleslaw. The chowder super perfect! Just enough buttery flavor with clams, potatoes and bacon. Definitely a winner! We had to ask permission to take our order to go but that's ok. Super friendly staff and a couple shots of Patron made waiting easy. Enjoy your life! Eat good food! SYOY!

I like boathouse 19 for the atmosphere and the view. It is probably one of the most scenic spots to hang out on the outer sound, when the weather is nice. I have been here several times previously but had only had drinks, so this was my first time having a meal. I was pretty disappointed with the food. The pan fried oysters were listed under the "large plate" entree section. And for $32 I expected a full sized meal, but it was fairly small. The food itself was fine flavor wise, but not to the standard I would like for the price. I spent over $100 total for two people and we left hungry and went to chick fillet afterwards. I still like boathouse 19 as a hang out spot and will still come back again, but next time I'll just stick to drinks or small snacks from the app menu.

A nice view from my table.

Your peanut butter pieis the best I've had anywhere in the world, including France. Shawna is always a joy to havre as our server and takes such great care of us. She epitomizes great customer service and I'm always so happy when she's here and available to be our waiter. The calamari, salmon dip, Ceasar salad, and peach cider is spectacular. The food is served fresh and hot. I can't say enough great things about Boathouse 19. Thank you always for consistently great food and service.

We got take out from here to eat next door at the taproom (they allow outside food), and really enjoyed our dishes. Eventually, we moved the group back to Boathouse 19 at a table for more late night apps and drinks to end the night as the sunset by the waterfall was gorgeous and their outdoor seating is right by the docks. Jason was our server and he was so funny and hospitable despite it being the end of his shift and almost time to close the restaurant. Very great server! Made our night. I will say the food was delicious but the "big plate" sections of the menu were not as big portion size as I thought by the term "big plate" haha. But great seafood nonetheless!

    Beer was flat

Came here over the weekend with my family around 230pm, the restaurant was kinda empty which was surprising but we had a table with a great view of the Narrows bridge. We ordered 2 IPAs and 1 lager, both were flat which was a real let down. My son had the kids chicken tender meal, it was surprisingly small. I had a cup of chowder and 2 piece cod. On the menu it stated the cod was "award winning"...which award idk but ive definitely had better for half the price. Over all for the price, I expected larger portions and more flavor. The flat beer was forshadowing and I should've known! TLDR: over priced, flat beer, disappointing with nice water views, go to Ivars, Fish House Cafe, The Fish Peddler, Paya Thai Fish and Chips so many other options.

This is a perfect spot to eat right on the water. The location was remote with excellent views and service. Everybody working there greeted us on arrival and when leaving. The food was amazing as well.

Middle tier restaurant with an excellent bar set-up. The happy hour selection from food to drinks is enticing. Great food, large portions and reasonable prices. The calamari mixed with onion straws and jalapeños was fantastic. The clam chowder is a standard and worth a try. I only stopped in gor happy hour so food reviews next time. Parking near the door is scarce but plenty available if your willing to walk.

We got seated right by the window and it was gorgeous between all the rough weather lately. Our server (Kathryn) was a gem! She was so kind, attentive, and informative. She made the visit a 5 star visit for sure. We love their fried bread and butter pickles. The only place we've found that doesn't do the standard dill pickle. This was a great visit for an early dinner/snack stop.

    Do they take reservations?

I'm not sure when we went we were able to get seated right away.

Is it typically crowded? I cannot see how I can make a reservation for a Saturday night.

Server was attentive, very friendly, and knowledgeable. My wife enjoyed a frost cosmo. We then started with roasted calamari (which was quite flavorful, although the meat was a bit tough) and herbed focaccia (wonderful for dipping the calamari sauce). The ahi special and boneless short ribs were our entrees; both came nicely presented and were very tasty. Both pretty full, we ended up with a bourbon chocolate cake and fruit hand pie to go, which were both delicious. The restaurant is not large, and filled up while we were there, making it somewhat noisy, but not bad. It is a nicely appointed, appealing place, with a great team making it all happen. My brother was a chef du cuisine, not a cook. He taught me decades ago how to make a dining experience worthy of people's spending. This was not it. The food was amazing but left the experience me feeling as if I wasted my money. The grumpiness of the individual behind the bar where we sat and ate was showmanship beyond unprofessionalism. When he dropped off drinks...no eye contact, no acknowledgement of our thank yous to him. Utterly embarrassing for the establishment, and for us to support it. If you are that miserable, you should not be outward facing to represent a business. Bartending is an art rooted in many aspects beyond drink making, especially if you are representing a business in service. No offers of drinks with empty drink glasses after rounds 1 and 2. No acknowledgement of empty dishes with wishes of subsequent courses that we were interested in. Yikes, this was bad.

I reserved a table (for a large party of 9) conveniently on Open Table which made the process easy and effortless two days prior to our reservation. On the day of our reservation I received a call from a very friendly staff member Jace (forgive my spelling if it's incorrect) who confirmed our reservation and also asked if we had kids in our party because of the age restriction for the outside seating. I thought that was very considerate of him to do so as he was being proactive and courteous at the same time! When I checked in, I immediately was greeted by Jace who was beyond welcoming in person as he was on the phone. He guided us to our table and made us all feel welcome. We then were presented with our hardworking and endearing Server Kat who was so patient with all of us, was proactive in setting up plates for our Birthday cake (we had brought with us - as we were granted with permission by the restaurant). Throughout our experience, Kat took care of our needs, fulfilled our delicious food orders with accuracy, and the other hardworking Server Ethan also ensured our drinks were filled. Seriously, the Employees are what made our celebratory Birthday even more special!! And also, our the wonderful Manager Brandon made sure we were all taken care of and even personally said goodbye as he walked with us out the door! We only live down the street from this restaurant as my husband and I have lived in Washington for about three years. First, the service was poor and disorganized. One of my friends arrived early and ordered her drink, but it didn't arrive until after I had already received mine -- even after she asked twice. We also had to wait far too long for basic things like napkins and forks because we weren't given enough for everyone. The most frustrating part, however, was the automatic gratuity. At no point were we informed -- verbally or on the menu -- that parties of 6 or more are charged an automatic 20% gratuity. We only discovered it by carefully reviewing our checks. And to make matters worse, the so-called "20%" was not actually 20%. It came out to 24.1%. When we questioned it, the person who said she was the manager claimed "the computer does it automatically." We are a table full of teachers -- and the math was definitely not mathing. We understand and respect gratuity for large parties, especially when the service is great or when it's clearly communicated. But charging more than the stated percentage crosses from poor service into a billing integrity issue. To add to the frustration, there is also a credit card processing fee, which again was not clearly disclosed on the menu and only appeared at the bottom of the receipt. This absolutely should be visibly posted before ordering. They did offer to refund some of the charges, but we declined because it would have taken additional time and we had an event to get to -- and more importantly, it doesn't resolve the core issue of lack of transparency. She also gave each of us a $10 gift card, but again, that doesn't resolve the issue. And honestly, what good is a gift card if we don't plan on returning because of such an awful experience? Overall, this was a very disappointing visit, and not one we would recommend based on service and transparency alone.

My first time at West 122 as I had been wanting to try this for months. Here's the positives... Love the brick and mortar ambiance inside. It just had an overall good community vibe. Presentation of food was beautiful. What else we experienced... My friend ordered a Sprite and I ordered a cocktail. She was served a lemonade and my drink was pretty sour so I ordered some simple syrup. The Sprite came but it took 20 minutes to get my simple syrup. By that time I was sort of over having a cocktail. Honestly, the venue was not full and all I wanted was some simple syrup in a shot glass. We ordered the burrata, caesar salad and the special with the octopus tentacles, asparagus, peppers and capers over polenta. The caesar salad on the menu lists "red gem lettuce tossed in house-made caesar dressing, topped with bread crumbs and shaved parmigiano reggiano. While I liked the idea of not having croutons as they're sometimes difficult to maneuver with a biteful of salad, there must have been a quarter cup of bread crumbs over the top, so much so that you couldn't even see what was underneath. Next, the menu describes the burrata as "creamy burrata with pea vines, roasted peas, pickled asparagus, and artichoke." When it arrived, we were truly wondering if we had ordered the right thing. Only until we moved the sea of greens did we see the burrata. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that we were actually ordering a salad with burrata underneath. Very unfortunate and misleading because my friend ordered the Caesar for dinner and didn't know she was actually getting a second salad. In addition, we ordered the baguette with butter/oil and what came to us for $11 or some rather non descript rolls. The octopus special was the star of the show. The colors, flavors, char on the octopus...everything except that it was surrounded by a fair amount of paprika oil, so much so that I had to work around it in order to not give my stomach a run for my money later in the evening. A dish I wanted to finish but just couldn't because of that issue. In addition to that, refills of water were non-existent and it took close to 50 minutes to get our dinner. Also, our waitperson was very pleasant but seemed rather overwhelmed. Even after waiting 15 minutes for the simple syrup, when she finally did bring it, she looked surprised that I no longer wanted it. Yes, she took it off the bill, but I would have much rather enjoyed one of the specialties of the house. So many mishaps that didn't need to occur. Truly disappointed that our evening went that way.

The both of us ordered the same items on the menu from both the drinks, the main and dessert - a sangria, Shakshuka with lamb, and beignets. We also brought our daughters with us. They ordered a cheeseburger with a side of caesar salad and a mac n cheese dish from the kids menu. Our orders were delicious, although I was expecting the shakshuka dish to be heftier. For the price - $17. xx with an additional $4 to add lamb - it was a little disappointing, to be honest, especially since it was lacking in the lamb department. I was still hungry but thankfully I had my 4 year old's leftover cheeseburger and salad to fill me right up. As for the beignets, it was good. I don't have anything to compare it to since I don't know what an actual beignet tastes like. Would I return? Sure.

Go to Cooks really seriously head on down the place is fantastic. The booths are private and big. Providing a great place to join and eat. Music in the background jazzy at the perfect volume. Walked in waitress greeted us asking us if we were going to eat breakfast, close to cutoff time. We replied yes as we browsed menu selection made order placed. How kind to tell us. Food wonderful selection diverse and simple with something for everyone including kid menu. I chose between two breakfast selections going with my gut of course. The foragers omelette with biscuits. Not disappointed at all cleaned my plate. Everything was hot, nice good spices great flavor. Potatoes were nice with fruit and biscuit to accompany. Burgers were ordered with the clean up on aisle 12 as well. No one talked at first sure indication as we shared our finds. Wow we ate it all and all I have is a smile and one photo.

The only disappointment was we really did not like our tiramisu cake. It contained way too much alcohol for either of our liking and we both don't drink alcohol. This was the strongest alcohol I've ever had in a tiramisu cake. The environment has a unique vibe but the seating was not comfortable and the tables were very small.

If I hate to scan a QR code for a menu and there aren't even pictures, what's the point? I don't need a fancy menu, but a printed menu is nicer. We got the Skillet Smashed Fingerlings/potatoes appetizer to start, very delicious! My dinner companion got the Classic Smash Burger. She said the burger was great, and she knew there were going to be caramelized onions, but there was a lot packed in the middle of the patty. The novelty wore off quickly. She still said it was good overall. I ordered the Scarlet Rosemary (chicken and homemade pasta), and it was really good. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was fantastic, but the only problem was; there wasn't enough of it (sauce) and when the dish cooled as we ate, you couldn't taste the sauce much. About 7-10 minutes after getting our food, my friend took a bite of my pasta and said "I don't taste any flavor at all" and I realized I was mostly tasting the chicken at this point and I was sliding the pasta in the very small bit of sauce on the plate. I would suggest don't be stingy with the sauce because it was great. Otherwise the food was wonderful and we'll plan on going back.
