    27. Pad Thai (without bean sprouts)

This is our favorite Thai restaurant... lunch or dinner. Always fresh, hot, flavorful and delicious! My husband is a Pad Thai guy and NO OTHER Pad Thai measures up to Bangkok's!! I've tried many options: curries, salads, noodle dishes, pineapple chicken fried rice (DELISH!), and many vegetarian options, all uniquely tasty! AND if you ever feel under the weather- just ask Koty for her special soup (Tom Yum).... Michelle, the server, greets most everyone by name, and is familiar with SO many "regulars", knowing their favorite dishes. Always friendly, responsive, refilling water and checking back to ensure the meal is excellent! They do an incredible take out business, and be assured each item is made as ordered, fresh, hot, and fairly quick. No pre-made, reheated food here. Limited seating during peak times, but it's worth the wait - or order it as take out! If you eat here once- you'll go back again and again!

I was the one researching good food, and it was the couple's first time trying Thai cuisine! We ordered egg rolls, yellow curry, Chinese fried rice, orange chicken, and pad Thai, everything was amazing! The food made us so happy. We had a comfy spot, delicious dishes, and a friendly server. Gosh, I'm so happy because everything was perfect. It was totally worth it.

    Stir fry chicken with garlic

My stir fry with chicken was awful. The chicken just didn't taste right. The chicken taste spoiled . I had to pay for my meal although I did not eat it. The waiter went to the chef who said the food was cooked fine which it didn't. Chicken taste like it was alive.

Great food and service. Michelle, our waitress, is a star and very helpful. She remembered my name and what I ordered weeks ago.

Excellent food. Excellent service…read more The staff is very welcoming. The real test for any Thai restaurant is their pad thai AND THIS PLACE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The sauce is perfect - not too sweet and not too salty- just the right balance of flavor. The chicken satay was well marinated with lemongrass flavor and it was the juiciest chicken breast ever-- loved! This place is located in the corner of a little shopping center so plenty of parking. Make sure you give this a try! Enjoy!

They're…read moreclose by, we've always enjoyed the food, and we've had great experiences both dining in and ordering from them over the years. Since the whole family was working late, I decided to splurge a little for an early Father's Day treat. While placing the order, I remember thinking, "Man, we NEVER spend over $100 on takeout." Usually if we're splurging, we go somewhere that gives you a lot more food for the money. I was genuinely excited because I ordered many of the same things we've enjoyed when dining in. But wow. And not in a good way. The portion sizes were shocking. The egg rolls looked more like lumpia. Two tiny ones cut in half for $10? The fresh spring rolls? One roll cut in half for $10. And its 97% cabbage. The larb salad that cost nearly $20 wasn't even enough for one full serving. It came with what was basically a tiny sliver of lettuce, maybe an inch thick if I'm being generous, and what looked like about a half cup of protein. For twenty bucks, I honestly thought there had to be part of the order missing. I've been going there for years, both dining in and ordering takeout, and I swear you get at least double these portions when you eat in the restaurant. I understand food costs have gone up. We all know that. But this felt excessive. I chose Pattaya Thai because my husband works incredibly hard and deserved a delicious Father's Day treat. Instead, I spent over $100 on takeout that couldn't comfortably feed a family of three. The Pad Thai was delicious, as always. No complaints there. But for the price versus quantity, I left feeling disappointed. I've always enjoyed Pattaya Thai, which is why this was so surprising. If you're considering takeout, you may want to think twice and make sure you're comfortable with the portions being served for what you're paying. Just being honest about my experience as a longtime customer who's enjoyed both dining in and takeout over the years.

This was our third or fourth time eating here, and it has become our go-to whenever we're in Olympia or Lacey and craving Thai food. We were the first table of the day, so we were greeted and seated right away. I also have to mention that the restroom was spotless and smelled nice, which is always a good sign when you walk into a restaurant! I get the same thing every single time...the chicken yellow curry, which they call "My Woman Curry." I still find the name hilarious and interesting! I always order a spice level 3, and for someone who loves spicy food, it's exactly what I want. It's spicy enough to have a kick but still packed with flavor. Not the kind of spicy that just burns your face off and overpowers everything else! My sister-in-law got the duck curry, which she absolutely LOVES, and she ordered a level 2 spice, which she says is perfect for her. Sean got the same curry as me, and our daughter got the beef Pad Thai with a level 3 spice. For an appetizer, we shared the chicken satay with peanut sauce and the cucumber salad that comes alongside it. That cucumber salad is so good! It has a delicious marinade that pairs perfectly with the spicy food and gives you that cool, refreshing bite in between. The service is always friendly, the restaurant is clean, and I really like the decor and atmosphere. It's just a great little spot for a flavorful Thai meal. If you're in the Olympia/Lacey area and craving Thai, definitely give Esan Zap a try. We'll keep coming back!

I got a 2 on each and could have gone higher happily, but the lady said the spoons of chili flake double with each 1/2 level up! I can't wait to return and try some of the other dishes I've never seen on another Thai menu in this area. Follow up... the servings were plenty for me to have lunch, then split the leftovers w hubby following day and still have leftovers. Interestingly the spice level on the leftovers was less than half the initial spice level. Not sure what that was about!

As we were looking at their menu to decide what we wanted, the owner/cashier was very polite and kind and asked if he could give our dogs some treats as they were with us. Our fur babies loved the treats and the nice gentleman complimented them. I always appreciate a business that is dog friendly. We decided to order a Pad Thai classic and Pad Thai Stix. We were given a little electronic device that would beep when our order was ready. After a few minutes, we got our food and on their counter they had utensils, napkins, sauce cups, and different ways of giving your food some spice as they do not have the typical star spice level system here. The sauces they provided were a peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce and it went perfectly with our Pad Thais. We were really impressed with Pad Thai Stix as that was our first time trying anything like that. We definitely want to return to try more of their menu! There are plenty of seating near the food truck. There are even sheds with seating as well, if you want to avoid the sun.
