To be fair, I have only eaten their combo lunch/dinner here, so I'll keep this review to that particular menu item. First, it's a deal. One entree, two eggrolls, fried rice and a cup of soup for under $20. Decent portions, too. I usually have the Mongolian Beef, but have also enjoyed the Sweet & Sour Chicken on a few visits. It's what you would expect of Chinese American food, and from a Thai restaurant to boot. Service has always been fast and friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and neat. During busy times the street noise can be a bit intrusive, but that's downtown Oly for you. read more

Ate here with Jaric on a whim while we were walking around downtown Olympia. Very filling of a meal and I cannot believe that I finished my Singaporean stir fry noodles all in one sitting. Jaric was shocked, too. It was good, but I totally expected a pad see ew equivalency with the big and flat noodles. These noodles did not taste as good as that, but eh... on me for not reading the whole description. The Vietnamese coffee was indeed very bitter, but thank gosh for our very accommodating waitress who was willing to pour in mil k to sweeten it up for me. It took me a bit to finish this drink because it did its job to wake me up after a 12 hour shift, tax filing for the 2025 year, and immediate hangout with Jaric. Jaric got something with chicken, which was okay. I liked it and it was definitely filling! The restaurant is fun with its yellow lighting, but it is one where you are able to still take nice enough photos as well as read the menu. Thank you again to the waitress for helping me finalize my order when I had to take some time to decide what was worth the price to eat. Thank gosh for side street parking during the weekday, too, because we were able to comfortably park our car and go to this restaurant. read more

It's a busy Saturday evening. I stood by the entrance for 20 minutes waiting for a menu to order for take out. To which the host/server said they were out of menus and will look for one? Exactly how do you run out of a menu? read more

What are pho spots doing to us!? Are they even trying to make the time consuming broth anymore? Pho broth tasted almost like chicken broth and the well done brisket was fatty. At least try and use the Cốt Phở Bò powder to trick us. Unfortunately for da nang I cook and can taste a faux pho a mile away. read more

Hey capital visitors. This spot is just down the street (short drive, long walk: especially walking back up the hill with a belly full of soup) in a cute/walkable neighborhood of restaurants. A cold wet day calls for soup and noodles. Dunno what else Olympia has to offer by way of pho, but this was pretty good and hit the spot today. It might not be the best vegetarian pho I've ever had, but piping hot and crisp bright flavors with a massive serving of noodles. (And gigantic jalapeños). PARKING: There's plenty of metered parking all around this neighborhood with a few empty spots on weekdays. If not, just drive a couple more (walkable) blocks to find some. SERVICE: Our server was really nice. Back and forth to all of the tables. It was not very busy just after 1:00PM, but many tables were filled downstairs with people lingering from regular lunch hour. (I didn't sneak upstairs to see what that area was about). Super clean. I expect this place is busy in the summer / nights. There are a few restaurants in this area and this one has a giant seating area - easily seats bigger parties. FOOD: Pho x 2. (Regular size = pretty big) Veggie pho is often pretty generic. Some Vietnamese neighborhoods have an array of veggie options on their menus. They have a FAUX CHICKEN which is pretty good [iykyk]. Nice texture in the soup. I like mushrooms and tofu better tho. Lots of noodles. Grilled Chicken Pho. Noodles are hiding just below the surface, chicken grilled nicely on the side to add in. What's nice is seeing the grilled chicken on the side, not just sitting in/on the soup. My wife said it was a great flavor before adding it to the bowl. PRICE: A little more expensive for pho than what we're used to paying, but it's the capital neighborhood, and on par with lunch around here. Is it A-OK? Yeah. But as a spot for some piping hot soup and noodles to slosh around your stomach as you get the capital tour, gotta give it another star. read more

We keep going back because the food is excellent and the service, while a bit variable, is very good. The Vietnamese iced coffee is outstanding: strong, sweet but not cloying, plentiful. The prices seem about typical for Vietnamese food in Olympia. read more

One of my favorite things to do when I visit my home state is go to Pho because let's face it, WA has a competitive market for it and you can't throw a rock without hitting a delicious restaurant! But don't throw rocks, that's terrible. Anyway, this spot, as I have been told by the person who recommended it who has been a long time patron, is a new location. It's spacious and well thought out, clean and cheery. Congrats to the owners on their lovely location! But most importantly, oh the food!! That was the FATTEST spring roll I've ever had the joy of ordering and the soup was on point. Nothing was too greasy, everything had high flavor and the portions were solid for the price. We'll be visiting more often and I'm certain we'll be in again despite all the options. You really can't beat a sure thing and this place definitely is. read more

Wonderful service, amazing food, huge portions. I would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. Absolutely phenomenal!

Downtown Oly has some amazing restaurants, but we had to tried Da Nang. From the outside, you get the dirty Oly vibe, but walking inside, you are placed into the set of any higher end Vietnamese restaurant. Decadent. The wait staff greeted us, gave us waters and wait time...and quickly got our order in. We ordered 2 meals and the freshness/crispiness was refreshing. Next time we try the ramen! read more

I have eaten here twice, once dine-in and once takeout. My dine-in experience was for lunch and I ordered the vermicelli noodle bowl with pork, egg roll and bean curd shrimp. It was one of the very best noodle bowls I've had. The pork had amazing flavor, they must use an excellent marinade. They include a bunch of herbs, fried onion etc. 5/5 stars Takeout was two spring rolls, one pork and one chicken. Very good but they were almost burritos rather than rolls! 4.5/5 I'll go back for sure. read more

My first time here at Da Nang in Olympia and certainly will NOT be the last. Walked in to this place with amazing thai food aromas. We were a big group for lunch and were promptly seated. We ordered their delicious crispy fresh egg rolls which paired perfectly with their thai sweet & spicy sauce. For the mains, we ordered their Chicken Singapore noodles (delicious), curry fried rice with prawns and with chicken (tasty), yellow curry (divine) and their Mongolian beef (was good but tad too sweet even though we asked for 5 star spice level on this one). The food was delicious and I really liked how their shrimp was cooked to perfection in the fried rice or the curries it would just melt in your mouth. We skipped desserts. We also ordered their house tea which lacked a little flavor but was okay for a cold rainy day in Olympia. Service was good. Food is out pretty quick. All in all this is a good Thai place in Olympia downtown if you want to save yourself to Lacey. read more

The first time I ordered from this place was on the UberEats app and the food was really good so I decided to go in person since I was super close at this particular time. The lady at the desk barely acknowledged my existence. After waiting a few minutes, I greeted her and verbalized why I was there. She said okay and went to the back. After standing waiting, I decided to take a seat then after a little while I got up because I saw a roach crawling on the wood panel where I was sitting then she came up to me saying "hey, you're waiting on???" I said "yes my order" and she interjected realizing she had in fact spoke with me already then said "they are still making your order" immediately walking off to go to a table. She finally comes back with my order and as I was walking towards her to receive my order, she put its on the counter and walks off. Yes, won't be ordering or coming back. Just not my type of vibe at all. read more

I came here on a Thursday night with my friend. We came at around 5:30 PM and it was nice to be seated right away. Normally I prefer to order meat, but we decided to try some of their non meat alternatives. Between the two of us we shared the: Tofu Spring Roll- this was so good that we ordered another one to go, and enjoyed it the next morning. Still good and refreshing. I preferred it with peanut sauce and hot sauce, but it stood well alone too. I was shocked by how much I loved this as a person who dislikes tofu-this blew me away. Imitation Chicken Phad Thai-this was tangy and delightful. Whatever their meat substitute was went well with the noodles and the sauce. We loved this meat substitute, but the noodles and sauce ALSO would have stood well on their own as well. Vegetarian Sweet and Sour Chicken with Vegetable - the sweet and sour sauce is bright and sour. We liked that it was a hint more sour than sweet and this made the flavor more intense. The chicken substitute was great, and we loved the addition of the fried sweet potato pieces. We loved this! Upon receiving our food, they also serve their fabulous homemade peanut sauce in a squeeze bottle, which they keep chilled while you wait. We squeezed it on everything. We ordered our spice level four our entrees as a 2 star, and had sriracha handy. We enjoyed our time here-the service was excellent, and our server made sure we had everything we needed. We loved their decor too. I was impressed by the flavors of their food-the components of the entrees were strong together and on their own. There was something for everyone on their menu. This may be my new favorite Olympia restaurant-what a hidden jewel! read more

Awesome food, never a disappointment; great prices! The Pho here is probably some of the best around.

I got the Pho here one time and it was pretty underwhelming compared to the other pho options around. Not bad though

Great food and great service! During lockdown we were doing take out almost weekly for a a number of months. We've had the Egg rolls, Pad Thai, Sesame Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Pho, Singapore noodles and and... They are a bit on the higher priced side of Thai food in the area. I have never eaten in but it is definitely a nice place. I am not a super big fan of the area, definitely a bit sketchy after dark. read more

Love this guy, I've been going here since it was little danang in the little green building that since got demolished

Upon entering, the restaurant was beautifully laid out. The giant vase fountain surrounded by fake plants at the entrance gives a serene feeling. Though the restaurant looks amazing and the food is good and of decent quality (and high price). The service was lack luster. Not only was our family ignored for the majority of our experience with little to no check-ins from our server, but our food was delivered to us extremely late into our stay. A group of four young men (who arrived at least 30 minutes after our party of three) received their food well before us, though many foods were the same as our order. We don't know if it was due to race (as we were the only Asian/Mexican family there and the rest of the customers white), due to lack of staffing (though no one ever said that due to understaffing there would be longer waits), or if our server was simply forgetful. Nonetheless due to our poor treatment of our first time at this establishment, we will not be returning. We decided due to our treatment that instead of staying and eating we would pay immediately and eat at home. The food was good but not delicious enough to endure rude service. Update: The menu states that dishes come with certain ingredients but they are imitation versions, be cautious because if someone has a specific food allergy this could be harmful. In addition the food is overpriced for cheap products. read more

Good stuff! They offer spice levels for their food. I ordered beef pad thai at a level 4 (out of 5). It definitely was spicy, but if you like REALLY spicy foods, then it wouldn't have felt spicy at all. It was nice level for me though. Just enough heat to warm my mouth up. My boyfriend ordered the yellow chicken curry and requested "mild" so I am not sure what number that would be. The soup had a lot of good flavor and he loved it. For me, it was a bit too sweet. Sweeter than other yellow curry I've had. I probably wouldn't order it again, but my bf definitely would. They brought us both rice for the curry even though my bf ordered it, so that was nice! Service: I saw a lot of reviews that said the service was bad, but I don't think it was. There was one guy (I assume the owner) who took the orders and brought the food out. I'm not sure if they have other employees or not. It was awhile before we got our order taken, but it is a big menu so if you had never been before, it would take you awhile to go through it. Some people who came in after us got their food first, BUT they had ordered PHO so it makes sense that they could get the food faster since that broth is made in advance. Prices: This is where I took a star. The food is delicious, the prices are high. I know food prices are high in general right now, but $20 for a bowl of curry with a few veggies and two pieces of chicken is rough to justify. read more

My family and I stayed in Olympia for a night on our way to Olympic National Park. We arrived pretty late so had some trouble finding restaurants that were still open. Thankfully, we were feeling Asian food that Da Nang was open until 10PM. We decided to order Singapore noodles and a teriyaki chicken combo plate with fried rice and lo mein. This was probably some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had in terms of quality and flavor. First of all, the teriyaki chicken was literally a grilled chicken breast (not cut at all) served with some sort of "teriyaki" sauce on the side that tasted horrible. Additionally, the Singaporean noodles was very salty and quite spicy despite us asking for a mild level of spice. I felt like I had to drink bottles of water after the meal just to flush all the salt out of my system. I will say the fried rice and lo mein that came with the teriyaki chicken was not bad, but that doesn't really make up for the poor quality of everything else combined with the relatively high prices. read more

We stopped by at close to 9pm on a weekday night. It was really nice to find some restaurant that opens late in this area. My friend and I shared two spring rolls ($3.5 each). I ordered a large meatball & veggie soup because I wanted to skip carbs. He ordered a large beef pho. Food showed up pretty quickly. The spring rolls were gigantic - at least twice the size as I assumed. They tasted good too. Usually I prefer shrimp spring rolls to chicken spring rolls, but the one here with charcoaled chicken was delicious! The shrimp one was less flavorful. I enjoyed my large meatball soup. It was the same soup base and meatballs as the pho. For $11 I do think I should've got more meatballs and veggies. My friend didn't get much beef in his large pho either. Overall good authentic food and fast service. read more

An absolute gem of a spot. This restaurant seems to waver between the lines of Vietnamese and Chinese. I am often wary of that remix because it makes me nervous that its a jack of all trades-master of none situation. Thankfully, each dish we had was made with care and was clearly well practiced. All of our plates were licked clean by the end of dinner. We got: Chicken stir fry Mongolian beef stir fry Special chicken salad chicken pad thai I appreciated that none of the food was too greasy or swimming in sugary sauce. The food was fresh and the intended flavors harmonized well together. I REALLY appreciated that there was a dinner salad option. There arent a ton of Asian restaurants that have salad options and I was excited to break away from my usual noodle-only order. We are moving to the area and are very excited to add this spot into our regular rotation. Overall, we have been pleased with the diversity of flavors in the Olympia restaurant arsenal. read more

The food was pretty good, but it wasn't a good experience. Both the front door and google maps advertise that they are open until 9pm. I called ahead to confirm the time of their last order and I was told 8:30pm. (So far it all makes sense.) Arrived at 8:18pm and we were told that they were closed. Ordered the chicken salad, chicken pho, and tofu banh mi. Salad was okay, other than the sauce was a bit too generous and contained very large pieces of lemongrass. Pho was good. The banh mi was awful. There were a couple of julienned carrots but otherwise, no veg on the sandwich, no greens, no jalapeños. The tofu was sauced so heavily you could t taste anything else, and again used very large inedible pieces of lemongrass. It was not a banh mi. read more

Da Nang Restaurant - Chicken crispy noodle with the noodles on the side. I like to put them on top so they stay crispy. - Vietnamese Near Me - Olympia, Washington

I've frequented Da Nang several times a year over the last five years, eating in has always been very good. Always. The past three years, I've done mostly takeaway and it's mostly decent. The occasional forgetting a dipping sauce or chicken instead of beef, no biggie. Today I was burdened with a laundry list of errands and meetings, so my time was limited and I was craving a spring roll from DaNang. I ordered online for pickup, I paid online and picked up my order of: spring rolls x 2 and egg rolls x 1 (4pcs). I get to my next appointment early and while I'm waiting I open the packages and start munching. The egg rolls are over cooked and burned on the ends, no flavor but char. Okay, I bite into my spring roll, mostly shredded lettuce and chunks of carrot, no basil, no mint, just bland. Thankfully the peanut sauce is in abundance and helps a little. So instead of eating this sad excuse for food, I'm writing a review bc no one answered the phone when I called to request a refund. I think I'm going to take a long break from this place. read more

Food was just mediocre and the prices were GOUGING!! We're talking a minimum of $13.00 per entree, with most of them being about $17.00! For noodles and rice based entrees, this is ridiculous! The Singapore Noodles with beef ($17.00) was super scarce on the actual beef. The Vietnamese Egg rolls were MEATLESS! Super soggy, and underwhelming ($8.00 for 4) wouldn't recommend this restaurant for two reasons... the food is just average at best, and fine dining prices without the fine dining. Pass!! read more
