I'm not really a big pho person but we were in the area and decided to give this place a try (I typically go for vermicelli noodle bowls anyway). It wasn't super busy which was nice so we decided to dine in. The man who was working the cashier was also the waiter and handling everything on the restaurant floor. He wasn't exactly friendly but also not rude, he was just very abrupt I guess you could say when he took our order and such. The food came out relatively fast and looked good. We shared egg rolls and spring rolls for apps; my husband got the beef noodle pho with extra brisket and I decided to get the wonton noodle soup. We really enjoyed the food, it had good flavor and the portion was perfect. My husband had ordered a lychee boba drink which he was a little disappointed in since it same out more like a slushie. We both made the mistake of adding a bit too much chili oil to our soups so it was harder for us to enjoy it as much as we wanted. I had used their restroom in the back of the restaurant after my meal and was a little disappointed in the upkeep of it. There was no paper towels left for me to dry my hands with and the toilet paper roll had just enough left for me to use. I informed the waiter that it needed to be replenished, unsure how soon or if he bothered to add more supplies in there. Overall, the experience wasn't too bad but wasn't the greatest. I think we wouldn't mind going there one more time to try something new/the same things without the extra spice we accidentally added. read more

As someone who grew up in WA and was gone for the last 10 years, this is the best pho I've had in years! The broth is so rich and savory. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful. The place is clean and is beautifully decorated. The beef pho was disgustingly greasy the condiments for pho were soaked with wanted and were not throughly clean. Going back to the pho it was so greasy you are left with a thin film of fat inside your mouth and no flavor other than the taste of fat and maybe a little of the taste of blood . Avoid coming to this place at all costs we left hungry as we did not have the "guts" to eat all the pho. Give this place some credit! The broth for pho was good. It could've been better if the cinnamon wasn't overpowering. The duck salad with bamboo shoot is always a hit with the ginger fish sauce. The portion is a little smaller, but for $13 it was not bad compared to nearby places. The fried wontons were also good, but definitely strong in shrimp smell. They messed up the pho order, but it was an easy fix. It does suck when the communication is not 100%. Overall, give this place a try. read more

And the fried rice which had three different meats and plenty of veggies. Both were good. Also had a bbq pork humbow. It was a little on the small size, not as good as I have had. We love to come here, but as of late the food quality has gone down. My wife ordered the wonton soup and got sick. My daughter and I ordered the stone bowl pho and our veggies were rotten. This is an excellent pho place! We ordered for takeout the Large Special Beef soup, Spring Rolls and Sesame Balls for dessert.Everything was extremely fresh! The broth was light, but flavorful and free of grease. There were plenty of meats, including tendon, which I love, but often comes with gristle bits. Not here. Even the dessert balls, which are usually pretty greasy, as they're deep fried, were light (and no grease on my napkin). We actually got a little too much food and will have the leftovers tomorrow, but everything was so fresh that will not be a problem! Zero stars. Went in here for lunch - looked over the menu, although I knew I was going to order Pho Ga. The menu specifically states the Pho Ga is made with a beef broth. I asked the server about whether it was possible to get the Pho Ga with a chicken broth - he replied yes. So I ordered the Pho Ga with chicken broth. The food came out fairly quickly. I started to add the plate of aromatics/veggies. I was a bit perplexed to find that the bean sprouts were wet and hot - as if they had been pre-blanched. I've never had pre-heated bean sprouts before. I added everything to the soup: the bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and lime. I went to taste the soup - and suddenly, a very unpleasant odor began to infiltrate my olfactory senses. I kept sniffing at the soup. I took one small bite of the chicken, and one small bite of the noodles - and could not for the life of me figure out what was causing this extremely unpleasant odor, but my warning senses were kicking in. Danger Will Robinson! Danger! For the first time ever in my Pho eating history (and I've eaten hundreds of bowls of Pho Ga), I refused to eat the bowl of Pho in front of me. I was seriously concerned that whatever was causing this odor had the potential to make me ill. I walked up to the front counter and paid for the bowl and left. Pho 111 does have nice decor. However, it is a good indication that the food isn't going to be good. I personally believe hole-in-the-wall places are the way to go when it comes to Asian food. My mom and I had dinner here since I came down here as a surprise visit. She was in the mood for Vietnamese food and this place was close by. According to the menu, it was supposed to be stuffed with ground pork, taro and other veggies but all we could make out in it was a hint of taro. Oh and don't get me started on the service...or lack of. My mom wanted to order a side of spring rolls since she was disappointed with their egg rolls. However, it seemed like they were hiding the entire time we were dining. We ended up walking to the front to ask to pay our bill. Hands down 5 star for best pho place in Olympia and Lacey area. I know Asian food cause I'm Asian and foodie at that. I love all the menu I tried so far (an exception of Pad Thai - you'd go to Thai for that). Best pho and sandwiches (Ban Mi), fried rice and other food also tasty! Very good Pho! I've been eating here for at least 3 years and the Pho is piping hot and delicious! Stay away from Pho Hoa! Last time I went there, the soup was Luke warm and I had to ask for a reheat. Pho Hoa only cooks there Pho for around 3 hours unlike the 12 hour cook time at Pho 111. So, it's about time to update my review. The rating hasn't changed though. I've been to Pho 111 at least three to four more times since my original review and I'm still not that impressed. Recently I went for a tofu pho and a strawberry bubble tea. The pho was the same as my first review. It wasn't spectacular. The broth was just basic chicken or vegetable broth. There was hardly any seasoning or originality to the pho. Even after adding lots of hoisin and sriracha, it still was just bearable. The bubble tea at $4.25 was also very basic and had too much ice & barely any flavor, so I had to wait for it to melt several times and then just got impatient with it and ended up tossing it. So tonight I decided to go with my Guam/Chamorro friend from my original review. She has since converted to one of the other pho places in Lacey and only goes to Pho 111 for the wonton soup which she continuously tells me is amazing. I opted to go for the pad thai as my last attempts with pho were unsatisfying. We also ordered the little egg rolls. They came five for $3.99 so that was a pretty reasonable deal for an appetizer. One thing that irks me though is the point of an appetizer is so that it is brought prior to your entrée arriving to in a way tide you over until the main course. What irked me is that the rolls came out at the same time as the pad thai. Not a huge deal, but defeats the purpose. In the back of my mind, I was thinking please let this pad thai be great because I really want to give Pho 111 a chance. Sadly, the pad thai was also lacking. Most places that make pad thai will ask you if you want it a little or a lot spicy. This pad thai had zero spicy and almost had zero flavor. Also, it was made with drunken noodles or like pad see ew noodles which I'm not accustomed to for pad thai and the large noodles kind of made it feel like you were making out with worms in your mouth. Dang, I knew I should've read Josh B's review before going here. When will I learn... The broth is super-meh. It's missing those spice notes that a lover of pho starts to crave at 10am. You know what I'm talking about... Your co-worker asks if you want pho for lunch and suggests trying a new place. Your mouth immediately starts to water and your nostrils do a little flare with the anticipation of the hot, clove-anise-fennel spices. You won't get that here. While their broth has a rich mouth feel from what I surmise is deliciously melted marrow and cartilage, it's missing that zing a zing zing that makes pho so fab. Couple of other notes: it's nice that they ask you if you want beef or veggie broth with an order of tofu and veggie pho. My daughter and I stopped in here for lunch after the Sushi restaurant next door was closed :(. We were very pleasantly surprised with Pho 111. The interior was decorated nicely and the server was very attentive, police, and efficient. I had a bahn mi sandwich ( my first one so i cant compare to other places) and it was delicious! The bread was so soft but crusty on top - just the way I like it. We had a pork bun which was ok - never had one before and probably wouldnt order it again just cause I didnt really care for the taste or texture. Swankiest Pho restaurant I've been to. Delicious Pho, Pad Thai and BBQ pork bun. Friendly service without intrusiveness. Definitely date worthy. We tried really hard to determine if the Pho was as good or perhaps better than other places. This is my favorite Pho place. My wife and I eat at Pho establishments at least three times a month and we still say Pho 111 has the best Pho soup. The portions are big and I like the fact that I get meatballs in my Pho combo soup, most Pho restaurants do not include meatballs, you have to pay extra for meatballs. We have wanted to try this location because it is close to where her grandmother lives and we all love Vietnamese food, particularly Pho. We both ordered small pho ga (chicken pho). The smalls were a bit smaller than I was used to, but they tasted all right. It wasn't the best I have had in the area, but it scratched the itch. The waitress we had was attentive, friendly, and polite. The major issue I have with this restaurant isn't the food (though it could be better) or the service. It is the music.
