Stopped by here while driving through Olympia and I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't this. The banh mis were easily some of the best I've had in WA, and I've had tons of them over the years. I got the grilled pork while my wife got the tofu. Both were stuffed to the brim with meat/tofu, fresh and pickled veggies, and generously sauced so that not a single bite was dry. The bread was fresh and warn, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I usually really like this place as their food is really good. I visited this place today and had a pretty uncomfortable experience, and don't think I'll come back. I called over the phone to place an order for a pork vermicelli and a honey dew bubble tea with lychee jelly. The food: The vermicelli was really good. I don't think I'd regularly come back due to how I was treated, but push comes to shove if I was really craving it, I might order again. The drink: I showed up in person, and i received a milk tea honey dew... though, I thought it was typical for it to come in a smoothie. I told the waiter I wanted a smoothie version and he stood there and just stared at me really awkwardly like it was a hassle for him to remake it. It made me so uncomfortable I was just going to take the honey dew milk tea instead of waiting for a remake. There was another female employee that knew the drink was made wrong and she was just staring at me like she was irritated. I have gone to several pho places but none were like my childhood when we would run to each other's houses and it was like a race for our mom's to try to feed all the kids of the neighborhood. I ordered the bun Bo hue and it was not disappointing. With the slightly larger rice noodles I'm used to seeing in this soup, the broth was flavorful and delicious. I've always enjoyed Banh Mi here and recommended them. However I ordered a chicken Banh Mi and go home and started to eat and was shocked to find deli turkey instead of grilled chicken! The meat of course want seasoned or had any char on it. Just a deli sandwich with pickled veg. If they ran out of chicken, go buy more and don't substitute turkey that's just wrong. read more

It was so bad I couldn't eat it because it tasted like they threw some chicken bouillon into water and called it pho. Insult to injury, the small bowl is $16, almost $18 after taxes. It's a super creamy, almost coconuty vibe. If I could take a bath in that banh mi sauce I would. The meat is always juicy...like lick it off your wrist typa juicy.
