This place is awesome. It made me fell like I was back home. This Hawaiian is happy with the food menu found in Carlsbad, California. Although I did not eat everything on the menu, we were happy with our selections. There were three of us. My 10 year old son loves the Rainbow Roll. He has eaten it at various restaurants in California, Nevada and at home in Hawaii. He said the Rainbow Row here was good! The ahi, salmon and shrimp tasted great. It didn't have that obvious "previously frozen" taste. Although, I don't think it was fresh, I know it wasn't old. My wife had the mixed plate. It consists of Teri bbq meats, rice and salad. She gave it a thumbs up. I had the Ahi Poke Bowl. It was good, but not great. The fish tasted fresh. It was soft and deep red. It had a lot of other items mixed in that gave the poke bowl a lot more different types of flavors that I haven't tasted before in a poke bowl. It was new. On our first night in Oceanside, we stopped at Teri Cafe for dinner. Teri Cafe has a very unusual custom: you order your food BEFORE being seated. My fiancée and I ordered the Banzai Ramen Bowl while our daughters ordered sushi and teriyaki chicken. The ramen was on point! I have eaten at this place numerous times over the years but I will not be going back. A few days ago I ordered 2 Shrimp Tempura rolls to-go. After finishing most of the rolls, I went to eat the end pieces with the shrimp tails and, to my utter disgust, noticed that the shrimp had not been cleaned meaning I was literally eating shrimp poop. I hate to say, but not good at all. I ordered a chicken udon and it was the worst udon I've ever had. The broth was not tasty. My husband had the chicken curry udon and he gave it 3 stars. Our friends got two vegan options and said it was underwhelming. We were referred to this place by Aloha Sol, which we were initially trying to eat at. Unfortunately they were no longer at the location they had on Yelp. I don't know if it's just that we didn't order the right things? The guy at the register was nice. Don't think we'll be returning. Very unsatisfied! Called since 6pm for a pickup order because I'm coming back from work and needed some food to go onto my second shift. I called back to add another item and was hoping it didn't take long. Grabbed my order that was supposed to have three items! Im running late for my second shift I get to my home only to find that I'm missing a whole dinner plate and on top of that my other plate (which was for my coworker) was Wrong! I can't even go back right now to get a refund because I have to go to my second job! Teri Cafe has a new policy that they won't take a phone order after 8:15 which is ok however, what's not ok is when you're waiting for a long time before 8:15 to place a takeout order and then to be denied. I was told if I come in before 8:30 I can place a to go order. I find it absolutely unacceptable to treat customers like this when I supported your business through the entire pandemic because I like their food. Decent Hawaiian faire. As always with Hawaiian food, the plates are big, they give a lot of rice and you're always in a food coma after you eat Hawaiian food. Teri Café, Oceanside, stays true to their Island roots. The food is plentiful! Order first, take a seat and wait for your food to be served at your table. Our Hawaiian food was good. I had the pork cutlet which was good (tons of pork and rice). The ahi poke (tuna) was tasty, my son's beef udon was good as well. After a long day of volleyball, my family and I craved sushi. After checking out one spot in Anaheim, which had a crowd of people waiting outside of the restaurant, we decided to drive back home to San Diego and try our luck closer to home. We decided to look on Yelp for restaurants that were in either Oceanside, Vista, or San Marcos. We found a sushi restaurant in Oceanside called Teri Cafe, which had 4 stars and one $ sign signifying cheap eats. Not only were we hungry, we were very hopeful based on the large amount of reviews and high rating. Unfortunately, we came away very disappointed and it wasn't because of the food. Teri Cafe is located off of the 78 freeway, specifically off of El Camino Real heading North. It's the corner restaurant within a strip mall. Teri Cafe has well illuminated outdoor signage. When you enter Teri Cafe, you immediately are greeted by Islander decor. Just outside the restaurant is a tiki statue. Teri Cafe greets customers with a full service bar decorated with a hula skirt awning. To the left of the bar is where you place your food order before you seat yourself. There is a large menu board with a lot of Hawaiian and Japanese food offerings. The decor throughout the restaurant is Hawaiian themed with tiki masks and surfboards hanging on walls and overhead. From the busy menu board, we ordered a lot of food primarily because we were hungry, but also because we thought one $ sign meant value for your money. Be careful not to order too much because it can get pricey. We ordered a chicken teriyaki plate, Tonkotsu ramen, 2 tempura shrimp sushi rolls, 1 double crunchy roll, 1 jalapeño bomb roll, gyoza, edamame, and 4 sodas, which came out to over $70, which kind of took me aback for how much everything cost. In my mind, that price was not value for your money. I ate the Tonkotsu ramen, which had two strips of pork, half an egg, plenty of noodles, and tasty broth. The edamame needed more seasoning. The gyoza and jalapeño bomb rolls were small and just okay. I probably would have rated Teri Cafe a respectable 3.5 stars, but my family's entire dining experience was tarnished by my customer service experience with the cashier named Cecilia. After paying for our meal and finding our seats, my wife pointed out on our receipt that Cecilia had charged us for two jalapeño bomb rolls instead of the one we ordered. I then went to speak to Cecilia about this mistake and the first thing she said to me was that she had repeated my order to me, which she did not. She basically accused me of lying and didn't apologize. Customer Service 101 teaches that the customer is always right, but apparently Cecilia didn't learn this. Another cashier refunded my money, which was only $7, but this slight will probably cause Teri Cafe to lose so much more money they could have earned from us. I was going to give Teri Cafe one star solely based on my bad customer service experience, but I decided on two stars because of my communication with Teri Cafe's manager named Cory. Cory was very understanding, apologized for Cecilia's lack of customer service, and offered to make up for my bad experience by offering a complimentary $7 jalapeño bomb roll on my next visit. It's kind of funny that what they offered is basically what was part of my issue with Cecilia. I really don't think I'm going to take them up on their offer. It's too bad because we could have visited this restaurant during the many times we travel through for volleyball. read more

Actually, I'm not sure what or even if they have vegan options... if someone finds out, let me know. :) The restaurant is almost always busy. You order at the counter and seat yourself. They will bring your food to your table. Seating is on a first come, first served basis so if you're with a large party, it's best to come here early. I used to order the Banzai ramen with tofu. I loved the mixed veggies. They can swap out the broth for miso if you like; however, I'd inquire about the noodles being vegan friendly. The noodles are freshly made in house. You used to be able to order the noodles prepackaged for your own soups at home. I'm not sure if this is still an option. Food was almost always good here but service was mixed (hence not being back for a while). At times, they appeared money hungry when errors in the kitchen happened and they wanted to recharge the customer for mix-ups. :( The location is nice with a overlooking view of the golf course if you're lucky enough to score a window booth. IDK if this place has a new manager or cook. I order from here at minimum once a month for the past 12 years. The portions have been shrinking and now I must tell the world. We pay way to much to be bowl portioned. $12 plate came out looking like this. (See picture below) Wife got the bowl with shrimp and it had a non divided plate, completely full. Make sure you open your order before you leave. This way the person who handed it to you can look at the cook, the same way I looked at this plate when I opened it at home. You order your food, menu is above the register, take your number and go get seated. They bring your food to you and take your number away. This place serves quick Japanese and Hawaiian food. They have everything from soba noodles to sushi. I went with the beef fried yakisoba noodles with vegetables. It wasn't bad. My girlfriend got ahi tuna bowl, it looked pretty and yummy. We both got fried shrimp to start, but hers was tempura shrimp and mine was just fried. I think I should stick with tempura from now on. Overall, our meal was reasonably priced, not too expensive, no frills and the food was decent.
