    Chicken & Beef Plate
    Amy P.

Came to Teri Cafe for dinner on a Sunday early evening. There was a decent crowd, but no wait to order or find a table. It's a casual setup - you order at the counter first, then grab a seat once your food is ready. We tried the Beef Udon ($12) and the Beef & Chicken Plate ($16). The udon included thinly sliced beef, fish cake, half an egg, green onions, and tempura flakes but the broth leaned a bit on the salty side. The plate was filling, with generous portions of both meats, though overall the flavors were pretty standard and nothing particularly memorable. That said, the value is hard to beat. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are definitely satisfying, making it a solid spot if you're looking for a quick, no-frills meal. One downside: we realized after leaving that our order was rung up incorrectly. We were charged for a Dinner Plate (which includes teriyaki chicken and a California roll) with extra beef, but we didn't receive that dish - we were missing the California roll entirely. A bit disappointing to both be charged incorrectly and not receive the right order.

food came out insanely fast. all of the food was also surprisingly delicious. If i come back, i'll likely want to get a dinner combo plate because they looked enormous and delicious! Got the Oceanside bowl which was delicious, like a chirashi bowl. The fish was surprisingly all good quality. also tried the beef udon - yummy! this place is such a hidden gem. very mom&pop vibes, good prices and solid food. The service was very fast!

My first time to this establishment. Came out to visit a longtime friend that I haven't seen a while and decided to come here for dinner. The staff here is very tenitive and always asking if you need anything to make sure everything is okay. In ordered the beef teri and shrimp plate. Mu friend ordered the shrimp tempura plate. The dinner came with milo soup and salad as well. The beef was very tasteful and tender. The shrimp that came with the beef was fried and came with a cocktail sauce. We ate out in the patio are it was nice and relaxing they also had patio heaters out there to keep the area warm. I will definitely be back to try something elsenon the menu next time I'm in town

We have been coming to this place for a long time. It still holds a special place in our hearts with a lot of good memories. Overall the food was still enjoyable, but the quality of ramen seemed to have gone down a bit. The soup was nice. I have just realized this time that they set their point-of-sale systems to calculate suggested tips based on the post-tax total, leading to a higher tip amount. I think that is not cool.

Can't believe it's been 7 years since my last review! Teri Cafe had trash food, good portions and great prices and has been consistent for years! My favorite is the Oceanside bowl! Yummy salmon and tuna poke bowl with Ponzu sauce! The staff is friendly and even though the restaurant is always busy, the system of ordering and paying as you walk in and the sitting to eat keeps the crowds moving. This is my go to spot for lunch breaks! Glad to see they are still going strong! Teri Cafe is always great! Gotta keep coming back!

CRAVING CHICKEN TERIYAKI Been to both locations! - FOOD: deicious - PRICE: affordable - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: smaller locations :: FOOD :: Chicken Teriyaki PLATE ($14) - chicken teriyaki, rice, green salad, and potato salad. Went for the plate instead of the bowl and the portions were massive. You can tell the kitchen just cooked the meal and no item has been sitting out. The chicken teriyaki was nicely grilled, sliced, and marinated in the sauce. The teriyaki wasn't too thick, nor runny, and the protein was not swimming in it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND :: LOCATION :: This location has root beer but not the apple soda like the other location. It's on top of a hill and views of a small golf course below. They have a dedicated parking lot but if that is full the plaza parking lot is open too. I think I like this location because it's right across VEG (I got a soft heart for VEG. :: SERVICE :: You technically can sit at the table and order as there are QR codes. Was stopped while about to take a seat and was told to order/pay with the front. Then whets the point of the QR codes?! Friendly staff but felt they don't do their rounds to check on customers. Doesn't have to be all the time but an occasional round would be appreciated. I def need to try something different on their huge menu.

Double Crunchy Rolls & Chicken Fried Rice.

If you like Japanese fusion/fast food with restaurant style dining this could be the place for you! My girlfriends & fellow yelpers Brooklyn Lisa B and Nanci i recently met up here for a sushi ladies night out. When we met up the line was almost out the door. It was moving at a good pace. One customer in front of us had a larger crowd meeting up with her so she let us go ahead of her. That was so nice. We were then greeted kindly by the staffers at the register. You order at the counter and get a number for your table. You kinda have to kink your neck to see the angled digital menu above. But hurrah they also have laminated menus at the register so we quickly scrambled through them. What's nice is you can order separately and not have to worry about splitting the bill or having to Venmo each other afterwards. We chose a comfortable booth that had just been wiped down but was still a bit too wet. So we reached out to a kind young server and received a second wipe down. I don't always eat shrimp but I'm a double crunchy roll kinda gal. The apple cider was good too. They were out of the pineapple tho. We closed down the place and didn't feel rushed out. We'll definitely be back as we had a great meet up & meal here.

Still a good lunch. #11 for her and I get my salmon on with the Kama. A few stick grabs of her salad/s and a nibble of the tempura, and we are golden. Seemed busier this Saturday. Possibly due to the other store being updated. Good food. Huge plates and great staff. CritDicks

Get the FIESTA ROLL! ASK for a side of ponzu sauce, mix it with the sauce the roll comes with. OmG delish! Hands down new favorite item at teri. It uaed to be the Banzai Ramen. But this was soooo good. I ordered with a small miso soup. Perfect . I call it the Solo Girl Dinner.

Manolo, the lead of Terri Cafe. The guy in the middle between the waitress who didn't acknowledge me.
    Leelee J.

The biggest issue was the service. After finishing my water, I expected someone to refill it since the servers were actively checking on and refilling drinks for other tables. I waited approximately 10 - 15 minutes, and multiple servers walked past me without acknowledging me. I even moved my empty cup to the edge of the table to make it more noticeable and gave the staff the benefit of the doubt. What made the situation frustrating was watching the staff check on tables around me. A waitress stopped at the table across from me, asked if they needed anything else, and offered to go boxes. Other tables were also being checked on, while no one approached me, made eye contact, or asked whether I needed anything. Despite several servers and staff members passing by repeatedly, I felt completely ignored. After waiting another 10 - 15 minutes. I ask to speak with the manager. Instead, I was introduced to the lead Manolo. I requested the manager, he stated no manager or supervisor is there and he is the lead. I explained my concerns and asked why no one had checked on me when everyone around me was receiving attention. I also told him that, as the only BLACK customer in the restaurant. the experience made me question whether I was being treated differently because of my race. One of Manolo the lead responses was that if I wanted more water, I should have ask for it. The problem with that explanation is that I watched other customers receive refills and service without having to ask. Servers were already checking on tables, refilling drinks. asking whether guests needed anything else, and offering to go boxes. Meanwhile, I sat with an empty cup for an extended period while multiple employees walked past me without acknowledgement. That is exactly why I felt discriminate against. The other guests were being taken care of, while I was being ignored. When I asked why I had not received the same level of attention and courtesy as the other customers, I did not receive a meaningful answer. I suggested reviewing the security footage to see what had happened, but that suggestion was rejected and Manolo stated why would I do that. Rather than addressing my concerns or attempting to make things right, I was told to just leave and was offered a to go boxes. Based on how this situation was handled. I believe the lead Manolo, should NOT be in a leadership position. A leader's job is to listen to customers, address concerns professionally, and work toward a resolution. Instead, I felt dismissed, my concerns about being treated differently were minimized, and I was simply told to leave. Because of the way this complaint was handled, I believe Terri Cafe should seriously reconsider whether Manolo is the right person to lead its staff. Leadership should be about accountability, customer service, and treating every guest with respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Whether the treatment I received was intentional or not, the result was the same I felt ignored, disrespected, discriminated against, and unwelcome.

    I. Chicken Teri & Temp Bowl
    Christina S.

Teri Cafe is always a good idea. I had the Chicken Teri & Temp Bowl and split the tempura with my husband. He ordered the daily lunch special. Love, love, LOVE the tempura. We've had many other items from their menu; ramen, sushi rolls, yakisoba. All good. Mini Chicken Teri Bowl is my jam. Love the price! A lot of the items have good sized portions at the right price. Can't go wrong with a cold beer with lunch or a hot sake when it's dinner. We love coming here and enjoy the island vibe. Staff is friendly, whether you're at the register or seated at a table. When dropping off your order, they always ask if there is anything else that's needed, i.e. sauces, napkins, utensils, etc, so you don't have to go to the counter. They stop by from time to time to make sure you're a satisfied customer. They use Toast (Local by Toast) for their online ordering and the prices are the same as the menu (unlike some using Grubhub or Doordash with added fees.) There's an enclosed area for outside seating. We've brought our pup on a couple of occasions. Teri Cafe is an Oceanside staple. I'm glad they opened this location. The El Camino location is out of the way. Parking is better here - more spacious and more spots. Another's review mentioned their extreme dissatisfaction of using fake grass on sushi plates. I believe the intention is to separate the wasabi from mixing with the rest of the dish. Hopefully, that review doesn't deter you from visiting. This spot is worth a visit.

For some of the best ramen that Oceanside has to offer, I recommend The Wu Lan Ramen located in the Plaza Del Oro Shopping Center, just south of the 76 Hwy. It's hidden behind the 24 Hour Fitness and CVS. The plaza has limited parking, but it isn't typically too crowded and you should be able to find parking in front of this family-owned ramen restaurant. They have a quaint and trendy ambiance and they placed a lot of care into their anime murals, which lends to a "whimsical" vibe. It's a nice blend of traditional elements & colors and modern (kawaii) accents. The interior is also spacious and has great seating for groups and is also good for couples too. Enjoy table seating or better-yet at their bar seating and you can chat with the friendly staff! They have a "staple menu" that is written in chalk on a board and then there's their menu that is very diverse. They also have a great Happy Hour menu with items priced below $8, including sake! I enjoy their pan-fried gyoza, salted edamame, miso soup, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, chicken karaage and most other delicious dishes. Their sushi menu is also high quality grade and I feel is often overlooked and underrated. But their ramen is what shines the most! There are so many styles & varieties! There's a lot to customize and their broth is amazing! There are many tasty bowls, desserts and don't forget to grab a sake or a craft beer! I recommend checking Wu Lan Ramen the next time you're looking for some authentic ramen or sushi in the north side of Oceanside.

The place wasn't too busy but had decent reviews, so we decided to give it a try (for the win!). They were able to accommodate our large group with seating, which was really appreciated. Once we sat down and placed our orders, things initially seemed fine. But then the service slipped. When I asked for water, they only brought out three cups, just for the kids. We had to ask multiple times before my wife and I finally got ours. Most of the food arrived, but my eldest daughter's meal was completely missing. After we inquired, it took another 15 minutes for it to come out. It really felt like they had forgotten half our order. The fried rice and broth arrived even later. On the positive side, the food tasted fresh and was genuinely good overall. What really stood out negatively, though, was the staff's response every time we said "thank you." Instead of "you're welcome" or "no problem," it was always just "Yep!" It came across as dismissive and disrespectful. While the food was solid, the service and basic human interaction need real improvement. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll probably look for other options.

I always enjoy dining there with my family because they have good food that we can all enjoy together. Every year for my birthday I go to Gonzo! I simply love eating at Gonzo. First of all, I can't get over how scrumptious their food is, it is so tasty and packed with flavor. If you stand in line to order, as soon as you sit down you will have already been served. I don't know how Gonzo prepares their meals so fast, yet so delicious. Also the fact that they cook their food fresh daily is crazy to me. I've been to many ramen restaurants and no one compares to Gonzo's. My go to on the menu is the tonkotsu ramen with gyoza and chicken karaage. Gonzo also offers a very unique atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Japan. They have waving cats, a big banana neon light, posters and a floating ball on top of the water station. The ball is so cool but I am still puzzled on how it works. Their decor can not be matched. They also have a TV that is always playing Anime. You can also sit inside or outside so if you feel like sitting inside, sit inside but if you want to sit outside, sit outside. Gonzo also does not offer reservations so there is always a place to sit. If there is nowhere to sit just get It to go, truly there is no other ramen stop better than Gonzo. Lastly, the people there are super nice, and always check up on you, they are very polite, and they always say your welcome. While you wait, you can enjoy your appetizers until your main meal arrives. Also if you ask them for a free ticket to their store, they will give you one, each member of the family gets one. You can go next door and trade them in for tokens, these tokens can be used to play claw machines so you can win stuff. But what tops that off is that all of the employees are welcoming and happy. Gonzo Ramen is the best restaurant in the world. They offer good food, an amazing atmosphere and the people there are super nice not to mention the location is very conveniently located near my house. I seriously think about Gonzo all the time. The noodles were fresh and had an excellent bite to them. It was a very tasty bowl of ramen and I recommend trying the BST. Overall great first time experience at Ramen Mik as service was great, plenty of seating and parking making it very accessible. Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes such as Japanese curry, beef bowls and tonkatsu.
