Wasthe first sushi place we tried when we moved here. Liked it then, and Liked morethis time.

Best rolls in Vista! Delicious, and a great price. While the place is rather small, with a total of 21 seats (4 tables of 4 seats, 5 at a bar), the owner was just the sweetest and cutest guy. His smile was gorgeous. As long you don't mind a wait, then this is the place to go! We ordered 2 Reasons and the Fury Roll (which was the staff recommendation). The 2 Reasons is a shrimp sushi roll with torched salmon, honey, and (I think) avocado/cream cheese. The flavors were subtle and don't overpower any of the other ingredients. The Fury Roll, topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo, was a bundle of warm flavors wrapped up on my taste buds. I'm not a spicy mayo person... but gosh, was this just a wonderful dish to have. And to top it off--the gyoza has the most gorgeous coloring that I had ever laid on eyes at any sushi place. The crunch, the folds... the sauce. It was perfect. I miss the food in my mouth already.

Quality over quantity. This place has been open for a while and I kind of regret not trying it sooner. There are lots of sushi restaurants in and around North County but they all seem to kind of have the same generic menu with the same rolls that have the same bland taste... but not Sushi 4 Reel. Food: *Diablo Roll - habanero sauce (If you're a spicy connoisseur like myself, try this) - Inside: imitation crab, shrimp tempura Top: fresh salmon Sauce: habanero *Post workout Roll - No carbs. Bold in flavor, possibly too much sauces but still delish. Inside: yellowtail, spicy tuna, salmon. Top: same as inside Sauces: cilantro, lemon, and "magic" *Reel lemon Roll - Refreshing & light. Inside: imitation crab, shrimp tempura. Top: salmon, yellowtail Sauce: citrus splash *Teriyaki Salmon bento box (devoured before I could snap a photo) - The gyoza and shrimp/veggie tempura were hot and crispy, perfectly cooked salmon, all on top of the best sushi rice I have ever eaten. I must say.. I am a really big fan of all the unique & flavorful types of sauces on each of the rolls. Service: I'm pretty sure it was the owner (only one running the show) that took care of us. Service was overall extremely friendly, attentive, and quick as can be. Definitely will be back to check out the happy hour but glad to say, I think I found my new go to spot.

Great and diverse sushi and sashimi selection with an intimate setting that is great for small groups or solo diners looking for an inviting ambiance. I have no idea why this place isn't packed...maybe it's the time of day (usually off-peak hours like 2 PM or close to closing), but I'm glad we found this little gem and look forward to coming here more often.

I love Sushi for Reel, we live close and have made this a weekly tradition to eat at. The food is always on point, service is always great and we love the music that is played! So happy with this cute little place! Highly recommend! Prices are really good too!!

Prada roll in the front, custom roll in the back.

Amazing rolls, owner made me a custom roll that had a habanero sauce, smoked salmon, yellowfin tuna! It was delish and left my mouth watering with a nice heat! Also had the homeless roll and Prada and they both were legit! Great sushi and I highly recommend it this friendly welcoming environment!

10/10 food . Service was fast. I would order here again . If your looking to try a new sushi spot definitely check the out it was my first time and I loved it .

Where's the crunchy bits? Their "crunchy" roll.
    Madison W.

Put in an order. Immediately got a call that didn't leave a voicemail. Showed up 30 minutes later (the time the app told me to pick up at that time) and they claimed to have left a voicemail saying it would be another 20 minutes. Then we open up this garbage of sushi. The dream roll sucks. The reel lemon had nothing on it of the description. No lemon and cream cheese in it (specifically ordered this roll because I hate cream cheese). And this crunch roll? Do you see any crunchy bits? Nothing on there. This is so completely disappointing to spend this money on terrible sushi. I want my money back.

A friend invited me to dinner tonight and she took me to Sushi4Reel, a place she has been to many times and raves about, and this being my first time. Gurrrrrlllllllll! She was not lying! This place was amazing. Quick, friendly, and great service and reasonably priced. Even had a chance to interact with the owner who was great and very personable. Everything was fresh and made to order. We ordered the spicy edamame, 2 Spring Breaks, and 2 Dreams. I'll definitely be coming here again and highly recommend it to anyone needing a sushi fix.

For some of the best ramen that Oceanside has to offer, I recommend The Wu Lan Ramen located in the Plaza Del Oro Shopping Center, just south of the 76 Hwy. It's hidden behind the 24 Hour Fitness and CVS. The plaza has limited parking, but it isn't typically too crowded and you should be able to find parking in front of this family-owned ramen restaurant. They have a quaint and trendy ambiance and they placed a lot of care into their anime murals, which lends to a "whimsical" vibe. It's a nice blend of traditional elements & colors and modern (kawaii) accents. The interior is also spacious and has great seating for groups and is also good for couples too. Enjoy table seating or better-yet at their bar seating and you can chat with the friendly staff! They have a "staple menu" that is written in chalk on a board and then there's their menu that is very diverse. They also have a great Happy Hour menu with items priced below $8, including sake! I enjoy their pan-fried gyoza, salted edamame, miso soup, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, chicken karaage and most other delicious dishes. Their sushi menu is also high quality grade and I feel is often overlooked and underrated. But their ramen is what shines the most! There are so many styles & varieties! There's a lot to customize and their broth is amazing! There are many tasty bowls, desserts and don't forget to grab a sake or a craft beer! I recommend checking Wu Lan Ramen the next time you're looking for some authentic ramen or sushi in the north side of Oceanside.

We settled on Oceanside in hopes of finding good food, as our weekend (end of Feb) had been full of a poor results. This place came up as very well rated on Yelp, as my friend and I searched for places to eat. It was a Saturday night with great weather. The red flag I should have read into was that the lone guy working that night was a one man show. He was doing it all in the front of the house. I tried to get us a table to sit outdoors but he just couldn't get to the table to clean it. After about 20 minutes he finally came and just moved all the bowls to the empty table next to it and wiped it down. When my friends finally arrived we all sat down to sticky menus that had NO descriptions. What you see on the website is exactly what they have on the menu. We had to wait to ask the server/host what each menu item meant. It took a while to get our food from when we ordered. Thank goodness for good company, I didn't clock it. The food options were limited and keep in mind for those who have children, most of the options come with a spicy kick, you'll have to explicitly tell them "no spicy"! There was a party who had been sitting for a while before we got there and a kiddo took a bite of pizza and was crying, screaming from it being so spicy. With my ramen the portions are tiny for what you pay, with 1 piece of meat, not enough noodles. Flavor wise it was spicy and bland. We ordered a couple appetizers which were not very good. The edamame was overly salty and soaked in soy sauce and the karaage was probably the only good thing and that was a little overfried. No one in our party finished our food or took any of the leftovers home. Save yourself the trip, not worth trying the "unique foods".

Lately, I've been searching for a new go-to pho spot, and this place is definitely climbing back up my list. The staff was professional and attentive, and the restaurant itself was very clean. The dining room, bathrooms, tables, and sauce stations were all well maintained. I also appreciated the hand sanitizer available at every table small detail, but a nice touch. I ordered the regular pho for about $15 and really enjoyed the broth. The meats were tender and flavorful, especially the brisket and tripe. Portion sizes definitely seem smaller compared to the oversized bowls many spots used to serve years ago, but honestly it works well if you're trying to avoid overdoing it. My son ordered the grilled pork chops with rice. The flavor was good, especially paired with the fish sauce, though the pork chops could have been a little hotter and had more of that grilled flavor. Parking can sometimes be tricky depending on the time of day, but today it wasn't an issue at all. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and especially the broth. When I arrived at Pho House, I was told that the boba for the tea was not ready and would take 10 more minutes after paying $60, which included a $10 tip. I was understanding and didn't mind waiting another 10 minutes. I was the only customer in the restaurant and waited for my order for over 25 minutes, while the staff were socializing (in a language not everyone understands). I spoke up and said I had been waiting over 25 minutes for the Thai tea boba after being told it would only take 10 minutes. The staff said the boba takes time to prepare and I responded that they should have given a realistic lead time. As a customer, I felt ignored, alienated and forgotten about. I have nothing against different cultures but it's not polite or welcoming for staff to be socializing in a manner that is ethnocentric and exclusionary, acting like customers are invisible. A word of advice to customers: don't tip staff in advance but only tip if they deliver on what was agreed, and no less. Tipping staff who are not truthful or go back on their word is a waste of money. Tipping is not mandatory but only if the service meets expectations. Staff who don't care about their customers are not deserving of tips.
