I've been going here since I was in high school. I'm now a senior in college and I can say for certain Susan is the best at waxing eyebrows after some poor experiences at places near my college. The whole salon does a great job. I can't imagine it's easy now with Covid but they put in plastic dividers and check you're temperature upon arrival. Tran is the best ever. She kills it in shellac and takes her time to ensure everything is done well and does it with passion. They're super clean, check your temp and everyone is wearing a mask. This place is by far the best nail salon in Seattle, it is very clean and it is well ventilated. On Tuesday I got a mani-pedi and my nails looked great, the ladies were sweet, super-efficient and did a great job. After my pedi they put a warm towel over my feet that made me feel fantastic. I love the big comfy leather massage chairs and as part of the service, I was offered water or a beverage drink. I was delighted that their (9:30-2pm) 28$ for mani-pedi happy hour specials is back. It seems that when they said they have time for two pedicures, they actually meant they have time to make you wait a very long time for a pedicure, but you can sit in the massage pedicure chair. The staff were not very friendly and spoke in their native language on their cell phones more often than not. I got a good polish job, my friend did not. This was my second time coming to 10th avenue nails to get my eyebrows waxed. the first time was fine, and the place was cheap, so I decided to go back. It was awful. When the woman was trying to pluck off the extra hairs post-waxing, she kept pinching my skin. So now, while I have nicely shaped brows, the left side is decorated underneath with little red dots. I've been coming here for the pedi happy hour for many years and love it. I recently went to get a regular mani ($15), something I usually don't get because I find that they get chipped within a couple of days. I got this mani almost a week ago and it is in perfect shape!! This place is the best of what it's trying to be: your corner walk-in nail place where you can get a mani/pedi for like $30-something TOTAL. It's not a day spa and it's not a high end salon, so although they take appointments you still may have to wait a bit, I'd just go in with that mindset. but its very clean and has new massage chairs, the ladies are very nice, and it's organized (you won't find people arguing over you who gets you when you walk in door, like other places I've been). They do a fantastic job though, and strive to do your nails exactly how you want, sometimes you just need to have a little patience with the language barrier. The shellac manicure is pretty cheap too, only $30 including the removal. Mine usually lasts 3 weeks from here. read more

I have been going to 10th Avenue nails off and on for a few of years. I do not consistently get my nails done so sometimes it is many months before I return and I am always amazed how Susan (the owner) remembers my name and often dettails about how I like my nails done. I have also used many other salons in the Seattle area. What I like about this place is 1. When I have shared that I am in a hurry they do there best to get me out of there as fast as possible. Good and friendly service 2. I have never had a bad mani, pedi or full set. I have had consistently good service 3. Price is reasonable The criticisms I have read kind of surprise me like fewer nail colors to choose from. I don't see it. To me they have just as much and even a few more then there local competitors. Dirty shop ...I do not see this either and I am a nurse and this matters to me! Great massage but horrible pedicure. Paint job looked very messy and after pointing the problem spots out two different times, decided to let it go when she started to get an attitude with me. What really made me upset was the sign outside advertised $20 for a pedicure- come to find out when paying, it was only during certain hours which was not marked. Susan runs a great low frills salon in North Capital Hill. I like to frequent it for their happy hour mani and pedi specials (and by happy hour I mean until 2 p.m. M-F), I guess that's one of the perks of working from a home office, being able to slip out for a mid-day pedicure but for a $17 pedicure with a great calf massage, I'm all for it! I had the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. Not only were they incredibly rude they did a horrific job to the point at which I almost walked out. She cut my toe after I repeatedly asked her to slow down because she was hurting me and then switched out to have some one else paint my toes in which it was all over and smeared after she put my sandal on after redoing twice. Throughout this experience, she was visibly talking about me with nasty looks. I will tell everyone I know to never to set foot in this establishment. A friend brought me here for pedicures. It's nice to be able to sit next to one another and chat. I've seen in lots of reviews for upscale nail places with complaints that they don't have massage chairs. This place does and I thought it was kind of tacky and ridiculous. It was very crowded the day I was there and everything felt really rushed. It also didn't strike me as very clean--there were cut toenails on the floor! Walked in on Sunday at 3p - the place was empty and all the nail technicians were cleaning. The place was spotless. I was a little nervous that the work wouldn't be great since no one was there. But I truly got one of the best pedicures I have ever received. She didn't rush it, took her time and gave me a wonderful massage to my feet and calves. I would have loved to get a manicure but I am very picky about my hands and the language barrier was too big between us for me to trust her. The only odd thing was that there aren't the typical nail drying stations and there was the light and then just a normal fan pointed at my toes. Still - a great pedicure. I love this place. It's right accross the street from my apartment and I go there all the time. I usually get a gel manicure which lasts me up to 4 weeks (way longer than other places) and a pedicure. They give the best massages here and they also last a while. The prices can't be beat. Went for a pedicure with sprained ankle and raggedy toenails after a week of moving. Came out refreshed, with lovely polished toenails and no pain I my ankle after a wonderful massage of the foot and calf. Nice people, reasonable prices, great hours. I will be back! read more

Great nail salon! One of the very few places that I have found that do pink & white acrylics and do backfills. The location is very clean and everybody is always friendly. If you are getting acrylics or waxing then I would recommend calling ahead- otherwise they take many walk-ins for manicures (regular or shellac) or pedicures. I've been here a few times now and it has been great every time. I've been able to walk right in and get a mani/pedi almost right away despite the fact that they have been pretty busy every time. You do need to schedule over an hour for the appointment but that is only because of their attention to detail. They spend however much time is necessary to make sure your nails looks perfect when you leave. They also spend quite a bit of time with the massages. The shellac manicure will definitely last at least 3 weeks. I am very active and spend time every week in the pool and the shellac last me 3 weeks minimum. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! I took my 5 year old there today who was so excited to get her nails done. We waited patiently for 25 minutes as she labored over the many nail polish colors to choose from. When she was called, she had questions about the colors. Nothing out of the normal or excessive. The woman literally rolled her eyes at everything she said! So much so that the other women sitting there getting their nails done were mortified and mouthing "I'm sorry" to me. I would never go there again. I have had lots of shellac mani/pedi's here and they typically do a great job! It's cheap, it lasts, and the women are friendly! I would say be patient because i've gone in and had it take 1 hour & i've gone in and had it take 2 full hours so beware if you're in a rush. Other than that, they're great! I came into this nail salon with a 6 year old I was babysitting. The young girl had $0.62 and wanted her nails done. They agreed and made us wait over an hour as paying adults got service before the girl. First they try to paint her nails in the waiting area, but when she insists on sitting in a pedicure chair they make us wait another 30 minutes at least. Fiiiinally her nails are painted. And then they won't let us leave until I walk back home and get $14. I understand this is a business, but we were very clear that we only had change and they said it was ok until after they finished painting her nails. If they didn't want to make this little girl's day, they should've said so beforehand. We wasted over 2 hours there under false pretenses and what's worse, the girl's thumb nail got smudged as it dried and they didn't correct it. I will not go to this nail salon for myself as a result of this disservice. Tenth Ave Nails took advantage of a six year old child today. read more

The prices are reasonable but the product will leave you wishing you had spent a few more dollars to get a better experience. This is a perfect example of getting what you pay for: minimal nail polish selection along with expired polishes to choose from... lovely. While the staff is friendly they will not hesitate to shortchange customers with waiting and rushed services. Rather than tell a customer who walks in to come back in 20 minutes or an hour they will have you wait with feet soaking in water for 20 plus minutes, which really inconveniences everyone. Those who are being serviced get a rushed poor quality pedicure and/or manicure and those who are waiting can expect the same as they would rather see you in and out than happy. I wont return and have realized places like Hoa and Spa Jolie are far better service wise for a few more dollars. read more

I have been getting my nails done here since the salon 1st opened. I am surprised that there are negative reviews. The nail salon is in a great location and it does get busy and if you are a walk in you should expect to possibly wait (doesn't happen often). Most of the time you can be in and out within the hour. For the most part my polish will last a good 2 plus weeks on my hands and longer on my toes. The owner treats every customer with respect and remembers their names. She cares about her customers.
