I really like the Harvest Chicken Salad here. Unfortunately, even though I've spent hundreds of dollars, they leave my dressing out or leave out the extra fruit and nuts that I pay for. I don't really need a salad that has no dressing and I don't pay for extra items for no reason. They also stopped putting the bar code on the receipt so I can't even get points for the money I spend. Today was the last straw. This stupid piece of bread, no dressing, no extra fruit or nuts, no bar code, no napkin/fork. This is the last time I'll ever eat here and I don't even know if I'll eat it since I'm at work with no f*cking salad dressing and I'm one of those wacky people that isn't into dry salad.

I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. I typically get a Grilled Steak plate, which comes with two choices of sides and a garlic bread. It's always good, nothing special and you could probably make it at home but it's a solid meal. It's definitely quite expensive for the amount of food you get. There's lots of seating inside and they have an outdoor area as well. You order at a counter and they'll bring you your food. Typically service is fast and employees have always been kind and approachable. You have to find street parking somewhere which can be difficult, as expected. Would come again for a quick and convenient meal.

I received a giftcard for Tender Greens, so I ordered ahead for pickup on two different occasions. The first time, I also asked about a limited edition deal for a free housemade drink, so I was able to try the Greens as part of that. Happier Vegan bowl: 3/5 The red sauce was spicy, and the falafel patties are plain on their own and could've used some seasoning. I wish they put more falafel but I liked the farro and hummus I thought it was just okay overall, it didn't feel like to me like I got a lot for the price. It's listed as containing baked falafel, farro salad, hummus, pasta pearls, heirloom cherry tomatoes, baby lettuces, harissa sauce, sherry vinaigrette. The Greens: 3/5 It definitely tasted like health food, i.e. leafy green vegetables. Would have been nice if they could have tweaked it in some way to make it tastier while still being nutritious. Longevity bowl with maitake mushroom: 5/5 I'm not a fan of arugula, but I was pleasantly surprised that while there was indeed a decent amount of arugula, it didn't taste bad, and although I was skeptical when first seeing the cauliflower because it was charred black on one side and mostly still green on the other, it actually tasted yummy and crunchy without being unpleasantly bitter. I also really like the lentils, and I particularly loved the mushrooms which are firm, juicy and savory. The dressing paired well with it too. Olive oil cake: 3/5 It was alright, sweeter than I expected. Kind of reminds me of a donut. I was really hoping it would be more savory and heavy on the olive flavor.

Tender Greens in Berkeley serves tasty food and has friendly staff. I don't love the part of town it's in, but they have a nice space. What I don't like about Tender Green is their less than honest/accurate advertising. I recently bought a six-pack of cookies - under "family meals" on the menu. I ordered through the app and was expecting two cookie varieties: the chocolate chunk and salted caramel cookies that can also be purchased individually. I would have been pleasantly surprised if there had been a third flavor during the holiday season. Instead, all six cookies were chocolate chunk. Even stranger was that the cookie sizes were completely inconsistent. I took photos to highlight the distinction. During a visit earlier in the year, I ordered a special seasonal dish: the Japanese Chicken Curry. While it was certainly tasty, I was disappointed that the advertised photos featured a healthy amount of chicken -- large chunks throughout -- while the actual dish contained very little chicken -- just a few small bites. I was expecting a hearty dish with plenty of protein, but that was not what was served. Between the chicken and the cookies, I have felt misled and no longer trust Tender Greens. I won't run back there.

Food was piping hot, online ordering was attentive (requested specific directions: medium rare), & Sara was especially helpful when I contacted Tender Greens. My lunch was delivered on time by DoorDash. Yummy!!

Love this place! We got salads, and they were so fresh, had premium ingredients, and a higher quality gourmet salad. The Cobb had delicious salt & pepper chicken, it's well seasoned and slightly crispy. They give ripe avocados, eggs, bacon, and tomato. The restaurant is sparkling clean, professional staff and comfortable seating area.

Everything tasted super fresh and delicious! I got the Happier Vegan bowl. My only thing is I wish there was more falafel or something to dip into the hummus or sauces as i had a lot of hummus and sauce leftover after eating the bowl. I ended up dipping some pretzels I had into the hummus to finish it. If anything it felt like a light lunch to me as I was still hungry after, idk how the non-vegan bowls are but the flavors are on point, customer service was friendly and the entire place was very clean and modern looking. Delicious but just not very filling in my opinion! It also did take around 12 minutes for my order to be ready to go so if you're trying to be in and out it may take a bit!

Wth is this charcoal I just got in my grilled steak plate? This is not even edible, I wish I was exaggerating.

They recently closed down the Tender Greens near my city, so I was happy to have lunch at this location in Berkeley while visiting family in the area. Metered street parking is limited, but the restaurant is large and spacious both inside and in their outdoor patio out back. Service was sufficient, with more workers than guests at the restaurant around noon time on a Tuesday, so hardly a wait for anything. The grilled salmon plate with romaine hearts and roasted potatoes lived up to the standards of other locations I've been to... tasty quality ingredients to fill my hunger. Everything was satisfying in both of our dishes, and the hibiscus tea was just right, fruity but not too sweet.

A Last-Minute Yelp Find That Delivered! Heading home from…read moreSan Francisco, we decided to stop for pasta. A last minute Yelp search led us to Creekwood in Berkeley, and luckily, I was able to secure a reservation inside. What a great find! Creekwood is in a residential neighborhood, which I love, although parking can definitely be a challenge. The exterior is architecturally pleasing, with clean lines and a fresh, modern look. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess with a huge welcome and an equally huge smile. The restaurant has a cozy bar area, outside seating, and an estimated seating capacity of 50 guests. Inside, there is a combination of banquettes and tables that can be configured to accommodate different party sizes. The interior was extremely clean, visually appealing, comfortable and inviting. The bathroom was also extremely clean. Our server Malia was personable and offered great suggestions, as did several other staff members. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and welcoming. We started with the corn chowder and burrata. The chowder arrived a little under-temperature for my liking, but the flavor was excellent. The burrata was plentiful, paired with tomatoes that were absolutely bursting with flavor. The burrata and tomatoes complemented each other beautifully, and there was just the right amount of dressing. My tablemate ordered the Margherita pizza, which arrived at the perfect temperature. Thin crust, fresh basil and great flavor it was exactly what a Margherita pizza should be. I was craving a meat based pasta with red sauce, but that wasn't on the menu. So I ordered the pappardelle with mushrooms and asked if they could prepare it with a red sauce. They were happy to accommodate me. It arrived at the perfect temperature, with beautifully cooked pasta and an orchestra of flavors. The depth and texture of the mushrooms gave me the satisfying, meaty texture I was craving. I would absolutely order this dish again! One of the highlights of our visit was meeting Greg, the owner, who was circulating throughout the restaurant and talking with his guests. We were first-timers, but clearly, many of his diners were what I like to call "repeat offenders." in the best way. Greg shared some of the history of Creekwood and explained that his goal was to create a true neighborhood restaurant and gathering place. I would say he has definitely accomplished that. He also mentioned that he is considering adding a happy hour, which would be a wonderful addition. They do have Coctails, beer and wine although I did not partake this time. Greg told us about one couple who has visited for brunch more than 149 times! Now THAT is a referral! If I lived in the neighborhood, I have no doubt I would become a repeat offender myself. Sometimes the best restaurant discoveries are the ones you make at the last minute. Creekwood was definitely a successful Yelp selection, and one I'm happy to recommend. Bravo Greg, Chef and Creekwood Family well done and we shall see you soon. GIve Creekwood a try you won't be disappointed.

The black cod was delicious. I found my pasta dish a bit bland. We shared a piece of carrot cake. It was very good, moist, just sweet enough with a perfect frosting. The service was attentive. It is a very noisy restaurant. The staff was moving furniture around at the beginning. I asked to have the music lowered in volume. The room may benefit from more acoustic tiling since the noise bounced around the floor and walls.

My family made reservations, which are hard to come by. They need to be made well in advance. We arrived before our 8:30pm reservation and, unfortunately, weren't seated until after 9:00pm. Once inside the dining area, it was lively and loud, intimate, and somewhat more formal compared to their upstairs cafe. Service from all staff was kind; the host occasionally stopped by; our food was delivered, and we were checked on throughout. It was also lovely to peek inside the open-air kitchen. If you dine in their dining area, it's prix-fixe. On my Mom's birthday, they had a salad, pasta, steak, and ice cream. The salad was good--I don't eat mushrooms, but found it tasty and a bit over-dressed. My favorite was the pasta, a little spice. Warm from the noodles but cold from the cheese--the shrimp was nicely cooked. For our entrée, we had a rib-eye. I don't eat steak, but for this occasion I did--it was good, but because I rarely eat beef, I couldn't compare it to other rib-eyes I'd had. The vegetables were good and quite fresh. I gave the ice cream to my family since I don't have dairy, but the fruit was great! Overall I enjoyed more dishes than others. The bread and drinks were also good. I'd be curious to come back for a different prix-fixe. Chez Panisse is a must visit once restaurant in my opinion--whether you're local to the area or live in the Bay Area. Not to be dramatic, but those might be the best green beans I've ever had. Service was great too, zero complaints. I went with a local who loves this place, and I completely see why.

I have been ordering the Wednesday smash burger special to-go for months, with zero issues. Today I was told it's policy for it not to be taken to-go. Nowhere is this stated online, the menu or the numerous staff members who have rung me up while on my lunch break. If this is in fact the policy, it needs to be communicated to ALL staff. Interesting enough my server Katie who I ordered the food, as well as to-go boxes, asked if I wanted them to-go. Make it make sense. Poor leadership, is the reason why I will no longer patronize this location or recommend to others. After briefly overheating Katie's interactions with others while waiting for my food, it's clear she is personable, kind, and capable of doing her job. Maybe she could be a better fit for leadership here. Lastly, the newly hired hostess who claimed it was her first day, and had to call "management" over upon my entry, was too busy on her phone to even acknowledge a customer leaving. Shame Eureka!
