I asked if they had the carrot cake when I entered the restaurant. Of course they have it. The Dessert is one giant slice of cake and 4 forks due to the generous slice. We brought our friends here for a birthday celebration. It is a small neighborhood restaurant, delicious food and easy parking. We started off with a family sized beet salad. We also had the arancini which was 3 balls of goodness. We Also shared a crispy Brussels sprouts dish which is a must order each time I come. We ordered the crispy crusts mushroom pizza and Margherita pizza. Mushroom pappardelle sans dairy. All pastas are home made per the server. Wow did not know that! I had the bone in pork chop with mash potatoes and spinach. It was a large dish, so had a take home box. Service is excellent. I learned that they only serve beer and wine, not cocktails. I will always come back,

With my partner's family, we went to Berkeley to try this delectable restaurant. Parking was quite easy to find and we were the first customers inside. The servers were all quite friendly and happy to help. We were seated and ordered a few beers, brussel sprouts, pork chop, steak, gnocchi, campanelle, and burrata. Each item was made very well and delicious. It was a very solid meal and we'd certainly want to come back. We ended the meal with fluffy panna cotta and a scoop of salted caramel gelato. So refreshing and lightly sweet! The whole restaurant quickly filled up on that Tuesday evening and it's easy to see why~

Brought my extended family here for their first time and dinner was absolute perfection! Brussel sprouts, meatballs, and beet salad to start- gnocchi, cameroni, pappardelle, and short rib entrees- and multiple desserts all round to end the meal. Everything was delicious and service was impeccable. Creekwood is always a good time!

A lot of people don't know that the City of Berkeley sits on top of a number of creeks. Long before the city was built, these creeks flowed bringing vibrant life and beauty to the region. Well Creekwood is doing just that! This quaint restaurant on Sacramento Ave. brings a nice array of Italian and American cuisine. With both indoor and outdoor seating you can be fulfilled on a cold or hot day. I was very impressed w/ the Cesar Salad. Actual fresh anchovies and the perfect blend of lettuce, croutons and dressing. A great salad to at pair w/ wine and to start your pasta/mains. For me the Cameroni was the highlight. I loved the pork sausage ragu w/ touches of broccolini topped w/ pecorino and fennel. Honestly when I first saw on the menu that it was lightly topped w/ fennel seeds, I got nervous. Too much could throw off the whole dish. But that wasn't the case. I feel like you really can't go wrong with w/ any of the pizza selections. For us, the Mushroom Pizza definitely hit the spot. Truly enjoyed the delicious flavors of chantrelles w/ mozzarella, pecorino on top of a bed of marinara w/ splashes of white truffle oil. The perfect dish to share amongst friends.

Of course I had to come back here to try some new dishes since the last time we were here we enjoyed our food. We like doing brunch so this place had a good menu for brunch. We got here about an hour after opening and it wasn't that busy at all. We sat down and the waitress came by to see if we wanted some waters which we did. We ordered the meatballs appetizer and then the mimosa special which was a bottle of sparkling and a carafe of OJ for $45. A great way to start the day and for the price you can't beat it. The meatballs came out and they were just as good as I remembered. Tender, juicy, and a great marinara sauce. For our entrees we ordered the pastrami Benedict and the egg sandwhich with bacon. Our order came out pretty quick which you expect since it wasn't busy. My egg sandwhich was delicious, the bread was light, the eggs were fluffy, the bacon was cooked crispy which I like, and the potatoes were also cooked perfect crispy like I like. The eggs Benedict with pastrami had lots a flavor to it. A must try. Of course our waitress was great, she came by frequently to see if we needed anything. We were too full for dessert. Next time.

We went here for brunch one Sunday since we wanted some pizza, turned out that pizza only served at dinner. Well we came back for dinner and ordered the pizza turned out that it's only looks good on picture from Our fellow yelped. The dough was hard and the sauce was nothing to brag about. We did enjoyed their salad and pasta though so for sure we will skipped the pizza but will return for other dishes. Good service, food comes out fast and both indoor and outdoor seating are great.

Landed here in our search for blue cheese and pear pizza BUT we missed it by like six months. The pizza they're offering now is the blue cheese and PEACH pizza. Anyway, we felt it was a well crafted pizza.. rich smell of blue cheese.. the peach slice flavors also really popped when I ate them individually. If I do have to nitpick, the pancetta was a toss up. I felt it was too dry and crunchy; my wife loved it because of the texture. Highly recommend this pizza though! I ordered the speck pizza. I'm not too impressed with this one because I'm not getting consistent flavors with every bite. The smoked prosciutto usually disappear from the first bite leaving you with nothing else.

Super cute spot with great food! We shared the Brussels sprouts, gnocchi, & sausage pizza. All the food was delicious but the gnocchi was my favorite with a very rich & smooth pesto sauce. Came on a Thursday night & there was no wait. Highly recommend coming here!

Came here for dinner with three friends on a Saturday evening. Staff and Service: - Staff was friendly and we had a couple of different people making sure we had a good experience Food: Based on the service, I wanted to like this place more. There wasn't anything memorable about the dishes. - House Salad: this dish was basically a pile of spinach with limited dressing. - Little Gems Salad: this one was better and had more flavor - Wild Boar Sugo: the noodles were good, but this dish was salty overall - I appreciate that they had a few nonalcoholic drinks as well. The Bellini Peach Soda was tasty Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via local street parking - Reservations available - Heated outdoor seating available - Overall, a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad, but not great either.

We had an amazing time and enjoyed all our dishes. We ordered the Caesar salad, House Pepperoni Pizza, Gnocchi, and Cameroni. Our waiter was very attentive and even let us have a taste of a wine because we couldn't decide between two. They have a good wine and beer list. We could had done without the Caesar salad. Nothing special. The pastas were the winners of the night. The sauces were packed with flavors. The house pepperoni pizza was light on the hot honey but the crispy pepperonis made up for it.

Wife found this spot while driving and since everyone was craving something hearty we decided to pop in. Service was great and the staff was very attentive which was nice. Food was good but slightly overpriced for the portion but since the flavors were spot on I still decided to give them a 5 star. It's a little hidden and if your not paying attention you'll miss this place. Sorry, we were all starving so all the photos are missing portions except the salad

Lovely and accommodating wait staff. I always appreciate an offer of a glass of wine when you're waiting to be seated. The good was delicious. Not sure what they put in this brussel sprouts but wow. Crisp and salty sweet. I had the burrata salad with citrus and cumquats. Disappointed in two tiny cut up cumquats and two bites of arugula. I asked the waiter for more greens and he accommodated easily and promptly. Everyone else at our table loved their food. My only complaint about the space is how loud it is. We were struggling to hear our dinner companions across the table.

On a whim, my family opted to dine here on the night of the Super Bowl; and, in true American fashion, the restaurant was barren with many would-be patrons busy spectating one of the biggest nights of gridiron football at home. After getting pretty much immediately seated, our waitress kindly took our orders and offered us still water for the table. The appetizers (Caesar salad and burrata) arrived pretty quickly. The Caesar salad, while pedestrian, was still good and delightfully yet mildly fishy with the anchovy dressing. The burrata was a measly portion, given the whopping $20 price tag, but, the candied kumquats and citrus slices that adorned the sides still paired nicely with the creamy cheese. For our entrees, we ordered the decadent Wagyu ribeye, a lasagna, and a blue cheese pizza. My gripe with the steak is that the bordelaise sauce drowned out the sumptuous, tender piece of meat, overwhelming an already rich cut with unnecessary flavor. Not a fan. The pizza was good but simply cannot contend with the abundance of great Bay Area pizzerias. I appreciated the heap of arugula that sat atop though. And, lastly, the lasagna was just okay but too mushy to see any discernible layers. Honestly, I probably won't return. The establishment touts an Opentable Diner's Choice award as well as a fairly high Yelp rating, but I'm not sure if I can attest to the accolades. The service was great though. We did joke that one waiter, rendered purposeless by the Superbowl-inflicted lack of customers, filled our waters every two minutes.

Parking situation- safe and easy or not ? Thanks! I don't live in Berkeley so not sure at night ...

There is street parking. I'd be surprised if you had any issues during the time you dine, but it's not the best neighborhood. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't leave valuables in the car.

Is there a corkage fee? If so, how much? Thanks!

Yes it is $18. We waive a corkage fee for every bottle purchased off our list.

Do you ever have a seafood entree on the menu (branzino or salmon, for instance)?

We have not yet so far, but it is something we have talked about for the future.

Any details on the beer options?

We have four on tap. Currently pouring Faction IPA, Magnolia Kolsch, Almanac Hazy IPA, and Scrimshaw Pilsner

Aside from beef, does any of the meat come from pasture-based operations?

Yes! Our chicken is Rocky Jr free range. The lamb is Superior Farms (sustainably raised American lamb)

Is the beef/meat free range and grass-fed?

Hi Alanna... no the beef is not grass fed, we prefer the flavor of non-grass fed. To my knowledge there isn't any designation for free range beef

Their menu showed items like waffles and croissant French toast, which sounded really promising. I decided to try the croissant French toast and really wanted to like it. The croissant itself had potential, but the egg mixture was very heavy and lacked some of the warm flavors you typically expect in French toast, like cinnamon or vanilla. Even with the berries and syrup, it still leaned very egg-forward. I also ordered a side of bacon for some extra protein, and that was actually cooked really well. For drinks, I tried the strawberry latte with the vanilla bean soft top. I initially expected more of a coffee-forward drink, but it was much sweeter and reminded me more of an elevated strawberry milk. The space itself is cute and gives more of a social, aesthetic hangout vibe than a traditional brunch spot. Parking can also be a bit tricky. There's free parking in the Trader Joe's garage nearby, but it's unclear whether parking there while dining at the café is allowed. Overall, I liked the concept and atmosphere more than the actual food during this visit.

Cold, military-style, and deeply disappointing farewell from Standard Fare…read more.. My wife and I have been going to Standard Fare for over a year. The food was always good, but the service was never particularly warm--polite, efficient, and impersonal, like a well-drilled operation. Today we took a twenty-minute ride with our six-week-old baby for one last visit before they close for good. We arrived before their advertised closing time, yet were coldly denied service. There was no one waiting behind us, but we were met with an inflexible, robotic "sorry, we're closed." No one was overtly rude, but the interaction felt rigid and mechanical, as if following procedure mattered more than acknowledging the people standing in front of them. It would not have taken much effort to accept one last order from a loyal couple with a newborn--especially since nobody else was waiting behind us. In the end, Standard Fare is closing exactly as it operated: precise, rigid, and lacking warmth. Hopefully the next business in this location will treat its customers with a bit more empathy.

It's also one of those places that makes you want to stay. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and generous. Every time I come here, I tell myself I'll pace myself... and every time I fail because it's just that good. The burgers are loaded and perfectly balanced, the fries are always crisp (never soggy, which is rare), and everything tastes high-quality and made to order. You have to try the chicken and waffles. The waffle batter tastes homemade and the butter takes it to another level... it's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after. I'll even DoorDash it all the way to Jingletown. The patio setup is really well done... there's a mix of larger tables for groups and higher bar-style seating for smaller hangs. The wooden furniture and cushioned benches make it comfortable, and they've got heaters for colder days and umbrellas when it's sunny, so you can usually pick your ideal spot. You order at the window and then just hang out while you wait... it's a relaxed flow and the food comes out pretty quickly. Cali Alley is one of those places I have looked at thousands of times when trying to figure out…read morewhat to order on Door Dash or Uber Eats. The food always looked really good, but for whatever reason I always ended up ordering from somewhere else. Well, I finally did it. I finally ordered from Cali Alley, and all I have to say is, why did I wait so darn long? Door Dash was having a 2-for-1 deal on the Cali Alley Burger, so I ordered one of those (and got another for free) , as well as on the small mac and cheese, so I ended up with two of those as well. I got fries as he side for the burgers and saved the second burger and mac and cheese for the next day. I also bought a small side of veggie fried rice for lunch later in the week. OK, let's start with the fries ... wow. Super crispy. Don't know what they do to them, but I think I almost ate all the fries that came with one of the burgers before I even touched the burger. The fries seemed to have a coating like some fries do to make them extra crispy on the outside. Whatever it was, it made them so good, I couldn't stop eating them. I was almost too full for the burger. But who are we kidding? If there is one thing I am good at, it is eating more than I should. The burger, which is described on Door Dash as "char grilled, fresh ground brisket and short rib burger, served on a toasted brioche fun with crisp lettuce, tomato onion marmalade and garlic aioli" was thick and incredibly flavorful. I couldn't stop eating that, either. It was that good. I ordered it medium, and it was pretty pink, but it was sooooooo flavorful, and all the toppings worked well together. I didn't get any cheese on it because I wanted to try to burger by itself and not mask it with cheese. I might try adding cheese next time, but honestly the burger is so good, I almost wouldn't want to cover up its flavor with cheese. Oh, I almost forgot. When you order on Door Dash, you can opt to have them include a small side of their chocolate-chipotle bbq sauce, and I highly recommend that you get it. It's a really interesting flavor and is good for dipping the fries in. I didn't try putting it on the burger, but that might be good, too. The mac and cheese was OK. It's important to note that I enjoyed the flavor but it is more of an eggy consistency than a saucy mac and cheese if that makes sense. It has a nice kick of black pepper, which I liked, though. The vegetarian fried rice was also fine but could have used a little salt. All that to say, don't be like me and procrastinate, get the Cali Alley Burger and fries ASAP.
