Mushroom & sausage focaccia, and Garlic bread - yum
    Vans C.

First time having pizza focaccia and they are incredible! Will definitely be back if I'm in the area. Plenty of tables and the staff are very nice. Mushroom & sausage focaccia - fluffy soft with crispy edges, garlicky, and full of flavor. Garlic bread - I'd skip it next time to try another pizza.

This is an amazing hidden gem on College Ave and also conveniently located by the 51B stop! I've come here so many times and this place has consistently good food. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options. The vibe inside is cozy and I think it's neat that you can see the people baking new focaccia pizzas or chicken from the side tables. I got 2 pieces of different focaccia pizzas. I thought that the bread was perfectly crisp while also being airy. My favorite was the Melanzane which has eggplant, pesto, and ricotta. The pesto had a nutty and fresh taste that went well with the cheese. They have a lot of different flavors to try and other side dishes as well such as aranchini. The service is friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that find street parking might be challenging depending on the time of day you go. Overall, I think this is a solid place to grab a quick bite to eat or to have a casual meal out. I think that for the price, the portion of food and quality make it worth it. I would definitely come back to check out their their Happy Hour deals.

Omg. I am so glad I grabbed this at my last day working in Berkeley. I ended get 6 focaccia. My favorite being the mushroom and leek, the margarita, and the tomato focaccia. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nice. I would definitely come back to get some pasta or roast chicken and definitely more bread.

Stopped in during their daily Happy Hour special. You get a small appetizer plate with a glass of wine. The happy hour appetizer small plate comes with olives, crispy cracker circles, and a few small 2-inch squares of flatbread pizza. Perfect to pair with a glass of wine. I ordered a glass of their chardonnay for $14. I also decided to get 2 slices of pizza, which range between $6 to $8 per square slice. I chose the Tartufata (Pork sausage, truffle, mushroom, provolone) and Capricciosa (ham, artichoke, olives, provolone). The pizza was nicely made and heated up slightly in their pizza oven. I recommend you drizzle their infused olive oil (condiment at each table) on your pizza or focaccia bread. I would definitely come again during Happy Hours between 4:30pm to 6pm. Venue has cozy indoor seating and 2 patio tables right outside. Located on the intersection of College Ave and Alcatraz. Street and neighborhood parking only.

We finally made time to visit this place that was highly recommended. Thank you Drew!! It's settled in a community similar to Willow Glen. Parking was easy thanks to the park mobile app. We love Focaccia bread and they actually make all the pizza on this type of bread. It's designer pizza for sure. I do not remember the names but they were all delicious. I will upload the receipt. My girl ordered the lasagne and it came with a small fresh salad that was delicious. Lasagne was 7/10 but the pizza was 10/10. I like my lasagne crispy but this was maybe too crispy or sitting for too long before being reheated. Flavor of the lasagne on a fresher bite was on point though. We ordered the beef lasagne but I believe they do have a vegetable option. Every bite of the pizza was airy and light and perfect ratio of sauce and toppings. Amazingly crispy and fresh!!! I could not choose a favorite they were ALL great. We ordered a piece of focaccia bread and they also served us a Peruvian pesto for dipping. The French fries we ordered were also tasty and that came with a green dipping sauce that had a hint of spice. Do not ask for ranch they do not carry it. Like I said this is designer food. We tried the Italian soda and it tasted like sprite with less artificial flavor. Please try this place if you enjoy pizza and focaccia bread you will not regret it. Melissa and Luis were both very attentive in helping us with our order. The bathroom was clean and the playlist reminded me of home. Sade and Al Green....perfect date night.

If you haven't tried this place yet, put it on your to-do list! It's a small shop that creates a sweet intimate cultural vibe. They have cute fairy lights stringed throughout the establishment creating ambiance for a cute date night. The service was great! I was able to get seated and helped within seconds of walking in! I quickly placed my order for the Arrabbiata and it took a few minutes for it to come out piping hot! The dish was delicious! The bread was airy and soft, but the crust was nice and crunchy. There was a chili oil bottle near and after drizzling my dish with that, it created the perfect bite. I can't wait to have another free moment to go back and try something else on their menu!

Tried Casa Barotti today with a colleague and I already want to go back! We ordered the Arrabbiata and it was absolutely delicious. The focaccia was perfectly crispy on the outside, airy inside, and packed with flavor. Service was quick and attentive, and the place itself is super cute, clean, and inviting. Located in the beautiful Rockridge neighborhood, it's the perfect spot for a cozy and satisfying meal. Will be back again!

Bottom Line: Best Focaccia Pizza in the World & IT'S AFFORDABLE!!! I don't usually like focaccia pizza because it is too much bread but the focaccia here is literally the best in the world, yeah, including Italy. The owner was telling me people visting from Italy take some home with them. I had the spicy soppresatta pizza for $6.25, salad and beer and it was other worldly. The owner told me his daughter is the chef and bakes the pizza on a steel. Well it's thinner than most focaccia, the dough is amazing and has a crisp bottom. Oh, and the salad was other worldly too, so Italian. Yeah it's a family restaurant, with great service, very cozy look and feel, extensive choices and awesome food. Highly recommended!!!

A decent place to grab a quick lunch. This place is pretty small with only several tables inside and a few outside. We ordered some salad, pizzas and porchetta sandwich. The food didn't really blow my mind that I am planning to rush to come back unfortunately.

On my way to Rockridge BART, I passed Casa Barotti and my sister immediately said "A FOCACCIARIA? WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW ABOUT THIS?" So we ran our errands and backtracked to Casa Barotti to check out the menu. We decided the mushroom and leek focaccia looked good and was a reasonable price ($7) for a slice so we split it. It was SO GOOD. It was much thinner than what I expected, very light and fluffy, and had a delightful gentle crunch. I could easily eat 2 slices for a snack and 3 for a meal. We didn't try anything else there, but SO impressed at the texture of this bread. We talked to the employee for a few mins and found out that it opened 3 years ago, so roughly 2021. It's quite brave to open a business during the pandemic, but I'm glad they've done really well for themselves. Environment was nice. I did have to ask someone to wipe down our table because it was full of crumbs, and I watched a fly land on some food on display, but ... that's what you get for having open doors and open display cases. I assume reheating the bread would kill anything. Maybe it makes it more authentic. I suppose centuries of people have eaten food served outdoors and we all survived. Hours later I went to a birthday party where I was STILL talking about this place and sent the link to all of my friends. Highly recommend.

Dropped in during an unexpected encounter - I was drawn in from the sidewalk and wanted to know more. I liked the interior a lot - it was bright, clean, open, the walls were adorned with various photographs, from the tables, chairs, lighting fixtures, to the way the condiments were placed out on the tables, everything carried my eyes to wander and admire. I entered during a time when there was only one other person waiting for a to-go order. The guy who was working was nice - especially when I kept asking questions. All of the food looked great, well-stocked, and the display they had showing its name was well read. There was a lot I wanted to try, but I limited myself to two slices of their pizzas. - Capricciosa $7 (one of their most popular ones - mushrooms, olives, artichoke, mozzarella, and ham) - San Daniele $7.50 (this might be a seasonal one as its not listed on their website - had prosciutto and arugula) Checking in on the Yelp app, I received a free piece of their focaccia bread which he cut in two pieces for me. I would love to come back here for their aperitivo (happy hour) which is held from 4-6:30pm. I find that this place is great for a quick bite, grab n' go, and dining in for the cool atmosphere. There are a few two person tables which could be combined together for a larger group and a few bar tables along the wall which is good for two people, along with a few cute tables for outside dining which I'd love to see more of in the state of California. The food tasted amazing! Shared and eaten once I arrived home. I wish I had gotten more to try!

How does this place not have a solid five-star average? Absolutely amazing food. This was my first visit to a full-blown focaceria. I will definitely be back. I was a little leery at first as I typically eat thin crust pizza. But this is not pizza. This is the freshest most flavorful pizza-like thing I have ever eaten. I ordered only vegetarian focaccia, but the others looked amazing too. I'm not a vegetarian, but I was just in the mood for no meat tonight. The service was friendly, and the restaurant immaculately clean. Found meter curbside parking right outside the door. This place is so good, you should go out of your way to get here.

The city of Berkeley has brought good pizza recently to San Francisco like Rose Pizzeria. Going to Berkeley I have experienced great pizza places which are not located in SF. Berkeley has some great pizza places such as the Cheeseboard , Pizzeria da Laura and for the best Chicago style pizza at Zachary's Pizza ( actual fresher ingredients than most of Chicago )which both have no locations in SF. There a different pizza spot in Berkeley which serves fresh pizza with local ingredients and there is no spot in SF and it's called Sliver pizza. On a Summer day stroll in the sun in Berkeley I landed at the Telegraph Avenue. Inside there are plenty of seating and they do not accept cash. I ordered their POD also known as Pizza Of the Day. It had the Mushroom, red onions, green scallions , and it had a lemon zest which was sour like some in SF. It was a little cheesy and the sourdough crust was soft. It was tasty and you can taste the field to table ingredients in the pizza. They also have interesting pizza like the Cherry Corn Pizza like I saw on my social media feed. When in Berkeley you must try Sliver Pizzeria. Go to Berkeley for this is a "must" because they have a sourdough "crust" is a "plus" it's not too cheesy and very delicious and leaves some pizza places in SF in the "dust" This pizza place is to eat inside , pick up, and they do "deliver" I rate it more on gold standard side than "silver" fresh ingredients from the "Salinas River" at a pizza place in Berkeley on Telegraph called "Sliver"

I went last week and they had a summer corn pizza that was loaded with juicy kernels of corn, fresh tomatoes and peppers, plus a ton of parsley for garnish. I am a corn fan so I knew I'd like this flavor. And I wasn't disappointed. Sauce: Sliver could even be more well known for its sauces. You have to try the green sauce! Perfect blend of savoriness, freshness, and a kick of heat! Location: right off the Berkeley BART station, This shop is super easy to transit to whether you're taking bus or the bart. Lots parking nearby too. Bathroom: maybe I just went too early in the day before the employees had time to clean up the bathroom, but it had no toilet paper, no seat covers, no paper towels, and the hand soap was simply in a cup that you had to dip your fingers into... kinda sus? Overall I'll definitely be going back because sliver become so popular because of their incredible pizzas and not their bathrooms!

We were a party of three and definitely over ordered- the Sicilian style Ray J, Truly thin and crispy, and arancini, but zero regrets. The Truly thin and crispy really reminded me of the Ciccino at Truly Pizza in Dana Point, which is my favorite pizza spot in the world! As the name suggests, it's very thin and crispy and I loved the texture. Great as an appetizer pizza lol. Thick square focaccia style pizza is definitely my preference, which is why the Ray J Sicilian was my favorite here. The toppings are generous, love the large chunks of cheese and the hot honey on this one. The arancini we got was also amazing, it had a slight lemony tang to it and some veggies inside which balanced out all the fried cheesiness in it. Would super recommend Pizzeria da Laura, and come in a large party if you can! I think my only downside is the bathroom situation as you have to take a key to take the elevator downstairs and it was hard to get a hold of the key, but maybe try to come at a less busy time. That reminds me, for sure make a reservation for weekends! Super easy to do on their website. The location is excellent. It's within walking distance of UC Berkeley, just a minute from Downtown Berkeley BART, and there's a public parking garage a block away. Another nice touch is the market next door. They sell pizza by the slice, snacks, and drinks. I would've been there 100% during my college days. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The atmosphere was warm, clean, and inviting. You can watch the pizzas being made, and there's also a TV if you want to catch a game while you eat. It had a relaxed neighborhood feel that made us want to stay a little longer. Having delivered for Round Table back in the '90s, I have an appreciation for the flow of a pizza operation. Everything felt organized and efficient. We started with the Chicories & Beets salad. It was fresh, crisp, and a perfect way to start the meal. We ordered the 18" NY Ray J and Detroit The Standard. Detroit The Standard was my favorite. The crispy, caramelized cheese edges were incredible, while the inside stayed light and airy. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked, not soggy at all. Every topping tasted fresh, and the balance of pepperoni, sausage, onions, olives, and sauce was spot on. The NY Ray J was just as impressive. The crust had the perfect balance of crispiness and chew, making it easy to fold. The combination of thin and thick pepperoni, creamy burrata, fresh basil, fermented honey, and Parmigiano Reggiano was outstanding. Every slice came with a great cheese pull. Both pizzas had crispy crusts, fresh toppings, quality ingredients, and just the right amount of sauce. We left feeling satisfied, not heavy or bloated. We visited on a Wednesday, and by dinner time the restaurant was full. That's always a good sign. One of the highlights of the visit was chatting with Chef Laura about dough, ingredients, and technique. It gave me an even greater appreciation for the attention to detail that goes into every pizza, and I picked up a few ideas that will definitely improve my homemade pizza game. I'm actually eating the leftovers as I write this review. They reheat beautifully. The crust stays crispy, the toppings still taste fresh, and they're just as satisfying the next day. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Whether you're a Berkeley local or just passing through, Pizzeria da Laura is absolutely worth the trip.

The pasta had potential, and I'd still give them another chance, but they really need to focus on listening to the customer and getting the orders right.
