We got takeout from here recently and really enjoyed it, my absolute favorite was the chicken bun. The chicken was nice and crispy and I loved the spicy sauce and toppings, really packed a punch for such a little dish. The duck buns were good as well, and the chicken wings were super crispy but the sweet sauce could have used a little kick of spice or more umami. We both got the ten-ichi ramen and thought it was delicious, the bok choy was an interesting and unique topping and I liked the kikurage mushrooms and subtle but flavorful broth. I would maybe try a different meat next time, the pork was good but not amazing (I prefer the fat to be a tad more rendered). Gyoza was not super remarkable, but fine! I rarely write reviews like this, but the service here was beyond frustrating -- it was gaslight-the-customer bad. I ordered the karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and asked for a lemon wedge -- a totally standard pairing. The waitress looked at me like I was asking for plutonium. "It'll be sour," she said. Yeah... that's the point of lemon. But the real disaster? The ramen. The noodles were clearly undercooked -- not firm, not al dente -- just stiff and chewy, like biting through raw pasta. I mentioned this, and the waitress actually agreed they were undercooked -- and then immediately said, "That's how it's supposed to be." No offer to remake it. No apology. Just... gaslight city. When I pushed back politely and asked that it be taken off the bill, she argued again. Finally I had to say, "Take it off my bill and give me my check." I didn't even finish the meal. It's one thing to make a mistake -- that happens. But it's another to double down and try to convince the customer they're wrong about something as basic as properly cooked noodles. Avoid this place. I'm pretty sure the original owners sold this franchise after covid because the quality is just not the same as pre-covid. My original review was back in 2018 so I've been a regular here for years and can honestly say I taste the difference. Their signature broth is thinner now and quite oily not to mention the flavor is not as good. On top of that, the 2 slice of char sui I got before is now just 1 slice cut in half. Not even my bowl of ramen is safe from Shrinkflation! I'm not sure if it's a bad sign when a ramen place offers poke bowls and other stuff because it can feel like they are trying to expand their menu so the original dishes suffers from the lack of love and attention. read more

After a couple nights of being stuck in the hospital with my ill partner, I went out to get him some miso from Ten-Ichi, as he was placed on a liquid diet but was sorely craving ramen, and I was impressed by how kind the cashier was on the phone and in person and how proud he was of their miso, which he told me they make fresh right there, not from paste. Once I got it back for dinner, I could attest to its freshness. It also had the perfect level of spice as opposed to being watered down. Side Note: Egg: The egg had that nice deep soy sauce flavor. Appetizers Aigamo Bun: $5. Duck bun. Tastes like if you were to have a Peking duck bun but instead of hoisin sauce, it's with spicy mayo. An interesting combo and twist. Buta Bun: $5. Pork bun. Slightly thicker slices of chashu compared to the ones you get from the ramen. Wanted to branch out from my classic go to spot Ramen Danbo and tried the Ten Ichi Ramen and the Rayu Beef Ramen. The ramens tasted good on a winter evening, but definitely not on par with Ramen Danbo. I did like the ambiance of the seats facing the window. The Ten Ichi Ramen: The broth was strong and tasty, though a little overpowered with the black pepper flavor. Loved the wood ear mushrooms and the bok choy, but there wasn't as much of them. The pork chashu was tasty and the egg was not cold. Overall, enjoyed this ramen. Rayu beef ramen: The broth was not too spicy and had a nice beef bone broth kick. The menma (bamboo shoots) were great, but wish there was more of this ingredient in the dish. The sliced beef was a little tough but flavorful, nevertheless. Overall, enjoyed it less than the Ten Ichi Ramen, but still a good pick! They don't ask which type of noodles you'd want or how firm you'd like your noodles, which would have been a nice touch. So happy to see Ten-Ichi Ramen back in [takeout] business! Right before all of this craziness happened I was going there with my sister rather consistently because they're easily the best ramen joint in Park Slope and what's better than some warm ramen in February? Well now that they're back in August turns out you can't beat a warm ramen in all seasons because I can't stop thinking about it even now. Flavor is still there and even as take out the ramen packs a punch. They also separate the soup and the noodles to guarantee NOODLE INTEGRITY, perfect for my not too long walk from pick up to home. Broth as flavorful as ever and all the normal ingredients still there, unlike some other restaurants (no shade, things are still weird I get it, but it's been the case). I've been craving ramen and Ten-Ichi was the closest to work so I decided to come for lunch one day. I definitely recommend stopping by for lunch because they have awesome lunch specials and its quieter. They offer poke or ramen lunch specials. I choose the ramen lunch set with Ten Ichi ramen and pork gyoza for $13. Since I was the only customer, service and prep time for my food was extremely quick. The gyoza skin was so crispy, and the pork was to tender. They tasted great with the spicy sauce on the side. The ramen came out shortly after. Everything in the ramen was great. The pork was one of the most tender one's I've ever had with ramen. The egg was made perfectly. The only thing I disliked with the bowl was the broth. However, broth is basically the ramen to me. Although the other ingredients were great, I couldn't enjoy them as much with the broth. I don't wish to ban a restaurant based on one dish they serve, so I'll be returning to try their other ramen options. Tan Tan Ramen is good too, love the thick Ramen. The Buta Bun is a good size and very tasty. The Ichi wings was a bit disappointing. The crusted fell off the wings and too oily.
