Great casual sushi sport. The waitstaff was very friendly. I also got a hot green tea, and it was the best tea I've ever had. I think it had crumbled nori in it. It added a soft, unique flavor to the tea, which I loved. Also, side note: bathroom is super clean and cute. The sushi wasn't anything crazy, but it seemed like a reliable spot for good, reasonably-prices rolls. I'm happy I tried this place!

Pork gyoza that was supposed to be vegetable.

Unfortunately this is something that needs to be pointed out for anyone with dietary restrictions. I picked up a takeout from here this evening - all vegetarian sushi as I am a lifelong veggie. I ordered vegetable gyoza along with some rolls. back at home eating the gyoza I knew they tasted a little off on further inspection I believed it to be meat. I called the restaurant and they casually informed me that they had accidentally given me pork gyoza instead. Obviously I'm horrified as I'm a vegetarian for ethical reasons but the guy was so blasé like it was no big deal - told me to bring them back and pick up the right ones!! Honestly I'm disgusted and feel pretty violated and extremely upset. But the cavalier attitude to mistakenly serving pork - of all meats is just unacceptable. I will never go near this place again this has been really distressing.

Bad gyoza with lunch special (see the cooking water.)

I decided to give this Japanese place two opportunities but both times were not so good. The woman working there took forever and when I went there for lunch, I asked for a check when I received my lunch and it still took quite a while. Both times I got the Bento Box special. At dinner, I asked to substitute the California roll for another very simple role as I don't like California rolls and they did as I asked and it turned out that a simple roll was an extra dollar on the bill which wasn't told to me when I asked about changing the roll (the roll I got for substituting wasn't that good either.) The gyoza were watery the 2nd time and they're clearly some bad packaged brand. The beef negimaki was alright. 6 pieces for lunch is not bad but it better be that much for the price (I don't think it was that many more pieces for dinner in fact.) The throwaway under-cooked vegetables on the side are there more for looks rather than flavor. Both times, the service was subpar. Shoutouts to the music in the background as it introduced me to El Corazón by Arno Elias. Good piece of Spanish music. The food here is just not that good and not that much cheaper that you might as well pay a couple more bucks more and go to Hibino or another spot which serves actual good Japanese food.

Great sushi, especially in Brooklyn which is a borough often devoid of decent Japanese restaurants. I have had sushi from multiple spots in Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill. This, hands-down, beats the competition. You can tell by the temperature and the flavor of the fish that this is the real deal. Other places will have fish that is ice cold (previously frozen) or room temperature (not safe to eat!). Osaka fish is in the Goldilocks zone. . . just right. Firstly, the decor is great. They moved into this new location (right next door) and it is the perfect size for them. The sushi, as i already said, is good. Great uni - staggeringly flavorful! The service is excellent: our server was so sweet and attentive without being overbearing. I will definitely be back here. I've walked by it so many times without stopping in, much to my chagrin! A couple things to improve on: the miso eggplant dish was a bit too oily. Needed more miso and less oil. Also, it would be very helpful to have the menu list a description of some of the items. For example: what's in the handrolls (dragon, spider, &c)?; how many pieces come with the ala cart sushi and sashimi? Opening the menu for the first time can be a bit overwhelming!

We are visiting from San Diego and decided to check this place out for lunch -- just a 3 block walk from where we are staying. The chicken teriyaki and yakisoba lunch options were delicious, filling and super-reasonable in price. We ordered the yakisoba with wild shrimp, which was excellent quality and cooked just right. We tend to be very critical but this place checked all the boxes. Comfortable low key atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff, an excellent meal and a great value. We will be back.

Good quality seafood, nice presentation. Special rolls were just OK, but sushi and sashimi were very good. Nice selection of wines, there were three of us and we got a bottle. Service is good, we were the last party and stayed past closing time without feeling rushed. Warning - wasabi is significantly spicier that at other sushi places. Less is more ;)

The food portions are such a perfect combination with jalapeños on top. The service was so good. Would love to go back.

An absolute gem in South Park Slope!…read more We happened to be staying at a friend's place a few blocks away and was looking for something open on the later side with great food. We searched Yelp and came across Konoba Yakitori, and it absolutely hit the spot. My daughter and I loved our entire experience--everything from the food to the local neighborhood vibe to the incredibly friendly, attentive staff. Everything we ordered was fresh, cooked to perfection, and reasonably priced. We had the gyoza, edamame, Hamachi Lover, Ebi Shu Mai, and the $15 Beef Set (three beef skewers), accompanied by hot tea and Ramune. The beef skewers were a highlight--tender meat with seasoning that was spot-on. Warm, welcoming, prompt, and super efficient. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, and our waiter was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu. Top-tier service all around. The space is small and cozy with a simple, comfortable design. Seating is a bit tight and close to neighboring tables, but there's nothing wrong with being snug, rght? It gets busy, but customers tend to eat quickly, so even without reservations, the wait moves well. Most importantly, despite it being a intimate spot, we never felt rushed at all. It's simple, which is what makes it amazing. An incredible restaurant all around--I love this place and can't wait to return. Highly recommend!

I loved…read morethe ambiance and decor of the place including their handmade bowls and plates, which are individually made by the owner --wow. To start off, we had the Cheeseburger Dumplings ($12), which was so unique. We've never had something like this and they executed it really well. The dumplings were filled with meat and fried with a skirt. The cheese part was topped over it like a melty dressing, so a delicious and special dish here. Plus, it had a side salad to balance all the grease here. For the entrees, we had to get the udon and shared the Niku Udon ($25) and Salmon Ikura Udon ($30). It was a nice combo between a hot and cold udon. The Niku was your classic udon bowl filled with plenty of beef and a perfectly soft-boiled egg. The broth was sweet and savory for a warm and comforting meal. On the other hand, the salmon udon was quite unique with matcha udon and fresh salmon. There is a dashi to pour and mix into the noodles, which still gave it flavor and the slurp you want in a udon. Both were so great in its own way. Even their ramen also looked great, but I love all noodles. Definitely a great spot to dine near Barclays Center. Love to come back whenever I'm in the area again. The udon dishes are on the pricier side, but they're huge bowls.

Since they have handmade noodles, we ordered the karaage ramen and Niku udon. While the texture of the noodles were great and broth not too salty (which is good), the protein toppings were just OK. The beef in the Niku udon was overcooked so texture was springy and tough. Karaage in the ramen felt greasy and breading hard rather than crispy. Overall, the dishes were just OK for how much they costed. Staff was courteous, interior design was cool, and their bowls are beautifully shaped.
