    Spicy Salmon Roll
    Adam L.

Fairly disappointing across the board. Ordered the shrimp shumai, spicy salmon roll and the out of control roll. Shumai tasted like it was bought from Trader Joe's. The rice on both rolls tasted kind of old. The spicy salmon roll was crunchy? It wasn't bad but I didn't understand where thecrunch was coming from. The out of control roll was pretty good but only getting six pieces kinda sucked. There are so many options in the surrounding neighborhoods and staying away from this one would probably save you some time.

    Seafood special with Udon.

Had delivery from them today. Ordered the seafood special which was a seafood soup in broth with noodles (I chose Udon). The broth was a bit mild and needed a bit of soy sauce but it was packed with Shrimp, mussels, clams in their shells and imitation crab. The seafood was fresh and the noodles were the right amount of pull. Also got a Californa Roll which was a standard if a bit smaller version. Fresh tasting. Delivery came blessedly fast as we have been having issues with slow deliveries lately (Kimchi Grill Im looking at you). Just went back on friday for sushi. Had the sushi lunch platter which was 7 pcs and a Cali roll. The usual lunch pieces of Salmon,Tuna,Mackrel,Red Snapper and it was all very fresh. Some of the best sushi I have gotten in quite awhile.

Cute family owned restaurant, and they are open late which is nice. You are coming here to have a nice meal , not for the ambiance, so know that. Their hamachi Kama was the best I have had, would stick to the sushi and not the steak, it was a bit tough but I ate it since I didn't want to waste it.

amazing chicken tempura and avocado cucumber rolls!

My husband had the kaishin don, I had the Ozakaya donburi set and our girls shared the shoyu tonkatsu ramen. The fish was so incredibly fresh here and the rice was seasoned perfectly. My donburi set also came with dashi broth that the waitress later brought over to pour on top of the leftover rice in my bowl to be enjoyed at the end of the meal. The broth and rice combination was really comforting and satisfying. This dish was something I wanted to try in Japan but did not get a chance to experience when there, so I was excited to try it at Ozakaya. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ramen here as well. Although the pork could have been better/more tender, the broth was rich and seasoned so well and not too salty like other places. Last but not least, the service here was excellent and efficient. I would definitely come back here the next time I visit Brooklyn as there were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try!

This place is super popular and I get why. It was packed but the service was insanely quick and efficient, which I appreciated. We shared the chirashi (9/10) and a spicy tuna roll (7/10) and it was honestly more than enough food for both of us. The sashimi is chef's choice so you're getting whatever's freshest that day. Overall, the quality was excellent. A couple of pieces were a little on the flavorless side, but nothing that ruined the experience. I'd still give it a solid 9/10 and would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

Above all, the fish quality and freshness is excellent and the nigiri felt especially authentic (not too much rice, sizable cuts of fish done in the traditional style). The akami and hamachi belly were particularly great. The toro scallion and king salmon crunch hand rolls were also favorites. Our opinions were more split on the spicy tuna crispy rice (I loved, husband was more lukewarm) and dumplings (obviously very freshly prepared but quite fried). The overall ambience is airy, quiet and calm and service was warm and fast. We would have loved to try the cocktails as they sound really interesting -- next time!

The space is pretty large, with a good amount of tables in addition to bar seating. I split the tuna crispy rice and the signature roll set and it was plenty of food for two. The signature roll set had an assortment of interesting and unique rolls ranging from truffle to mango- my fave was the New York crunch w potato crisps on top. The tuna crispy rice was also a bit different- served as a tartare w crispy rice chips for dipping. Very crispy and tasty though! Service was super attentive and very welcoming. Definitely will be coming back if I'm in the area.

They have an extensive cocktail menu with unique flavors. My husband and I started with Miso Soup and Spicy Cucumber. The miso soup was perfect for the cold weather. The spicy cucumber left more to be desired not only was it not spicy, it wasn't that flavorful at all. It tasted like just cucumber. For our main, we shared the Goma Hamachi, American Wagyu Steak, Seared Salmon Roll. The hamachi and salmon roll were our favorites. So flavorful. The steak was okay. Cooked to our liking but flavor-wise wasn't anything spectacular. The sauce it came with tasted like oil with no seasoning. For my drink, I had the margarita with mezcal. It was amazing. For the service, I wish the food had been timed out better. We had a small two top table and the food came out so quickly. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but we rushed eating our apps because we had no table space. We had to constantly shift plates, the candle, and our drinks to make room. It was slightly frustrating.
