plate of samon nigiri

We come here every other Saturday to gorge ourselves with salmon nigiri and nobody's complained yet 10/10. P.S Kani salad is totally filler but everyone orders it.

Salmon Teriyaki Entree ($15.95)

Really decent sushi here for a Chinese-owned Japanese-American takeout spot. If you manage your expectations, it's a pretty solid neighborhood spot for sushi. Ordered a family dinner here a couple of weeks ago and we got a party tray, a couple of teriyaki entrees, fried rice, and pad thai. Party Tray A ($38) comes with the classic rolls: California, Salmon Avocado, Eel Avocado, Caterpillar, Shrimp Tempura, Tuna Avocado, Spicy Tuna. All tasted fresh and delish - no complaints there. The tofu teriyaki entree ($10.95) was surprisingly yummy - silken tofu with a thin, crispy exterior and sauce on the side to maintain its texture. We also got the salmon teriyaki ($15.95) which was pretty standard. The chicken Pad Thai ($11.95) and pineapple fried rice ($11.95) were underwhelming - would skip the fried rice altogether next time and perhaps go for a yakiudon/soba.

I'm glad I found this place near my job. I seldom order lunch, but it's def a great option if I want some sushi. Have dined in there a few times when I got out early. Amazing lunch special deals. Their sushi rolls are fresh and inexpensive. Highly recommend!

I think there is a new chef in town. I have ordered from here often enough to know/think there is a new chef in town. The food quality is significantly better than before. Or maybe they just had a good night. The food in general is pretty good here although they get your order wrong quite often, but then again, that's how I have discovered new dishes that I like. The shrimp was warm crispy and a lot. I know I will crave this again tomorrow.

Salmon Teriyaki and Scallop Hibachi combo

I enjoy this Japanese restaurant and order from here pretty often. So often that they know my order when I call for delivery. I always get the salmon teriyaki bento box or salmon or scallop (or both) hibachi entree. Both of these dishes are so yummy. I love the grilled veggies that come with the hibachis. The food always tastes fresh and I never feel terribly full or heavy after eating. I also really like their gyoza, shumai and the different assortments of sushi they have.

When in the mood for teriyaki and in New York, I order food from here. The last time I was in New York visiting my sister, we ordered from this place two days in a row shamelessly! We ordered the salmon teriyaki and the scallop hibachi, sooo good, and it doesn't feel heavy either. I would definitely recommend if you're in a Japanese mood.

Not bad for the area and prices. I like ordering from here when I'm craving sushi during the work week.

Sushi and dumplings

Sake Sushi rules. Here's why: 1) Pork dumplings are greasy, porky, little bombs of heaven. 2) Shrimp tempura w/ avocado rolls & tuna rolls are fresh, tasty explosions of fishy goodness. 3) Delivery is fast and food arrives hot. That's exactly what I needed one night when I was starving, hadn't gotten groceries, and needed something quick before the Warriors game started. Thanks, Sake!

From the start, the menu felt a little overwhelming, but I actually liked how much variety there was. They've got your everyday sashimi, sushi, rolls, and some specials, plus plenty of hot food like bento boxes, noodles and rice dishes. There are even party trays if you're grabbing food for an event. With so many options, there's something for everyone in your group. The fish was fresh overall, though it leaned more mild than that buttery, sweet richness you get from higher grade cuts. The salmon belly was good but not as rich or melty as I hoped. The toro was nicely torched with that perfect buttery flavor. They also had Santa Barbara uni that night, which was solid, just not the most sweet batch I've had. They were already sold out of their Hokkaido uni that evening. We also tried the monkfish liver appetizer, it was mild and clean tasting, though I wished it had more of that rich, creamy depth you sometimes get from good quality ankimo. It came plain, but once I asked for a little ponzu, it helped balance the flavor. The space itself is clean and very bright, with an open layout where you can easily hear other tables, lively but not too loud. Service was friendly and polite, though a bit on the inexperienced side. Everyone was kind and tried their best, just small moments where communication or timing could be smoother. Parking in the area can be tricky depending on the time, but there are plenty of meters and street parking within walking distance.

Dipping their toes in so many different arenas might actually be their detriment because they're going for everything while not excelling in most. I would rather they cut down on some dishes and make sure all are great instead. I absolutely love their Thai fried chicken, which is so affordable (8 pieces for $12), and tastes so crispy on the outside but so moist and flavorful on the inside. It comes with a tangy fish sauce, but you can add different green curry and/or red curry for 50 cents each. I like it best with the fish sauce. However, that's the Thai fried chicken is the only dish I absolutely love from this place. Everything else is very mediocre, which is unfortunate. 6 rolls bento - $15; comes with california roll, spicy tuna roll, lobster salad roll, salmon avocado roll, eel cucumber roll, shrimp tempura, kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken. It's a lot of food for $15, and the sushi actually tastes decent. The kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken are just tiny portions, but the fried chicken are like nuggets and taste really bad. 4/5 Mushroom noodles - $10; It's so rare to find such affordable e-fu noodles but sadly, it tastes nothing like what e-fu noodles should taste like. I wouldn't even know that they're supposed to be e-fu noodles if I just blindly tasted. I would not get this again here. 3/5 Pad see ew beef - $13; Again, like the mushroom noodles, it didn't taste like pad see ew. It's missing that sweetness and charred factor that's usually present in pad see ew. 3/5 Pad Kra Pao (??) - I can't remember if it's this dish that I got, but it was some type of Thai rice dish with a meat sauce. It was so terrible, I only ate 10% of it and didn't take it to go. 1/5 Pad thai - I didn't try it but my friend got it and the color looked really off. Aside from the food, there are other improvements to be made here. It seems like a family-run restaurant, with only two workers facing the customers. It's really hard to get their attention when the restaurant is busy. The space is very tight and looks like it could be more well-maintained. They also need more menus. Hard to share just one with the whole table.

We ordered the crunchy cabbage, marinated cucumber, crispy garlic potatoes, mushroom Tempera, a variety of skewers including the washugyu & shishito and scallop bacon and pumpkin (you can choose fried or grilled, I chose grilled styled) and the champon noodle bowl. The food comes out very fast. The cucumber was alright though I was not a fan of the WakuWaku sauce overly sweet. The cabbage was delicious but lacked flavor. Huge portion though. Then came out the skewers. The pumpkin was cold. I wasn't a fan of the washugyu & shishito one. And the scallop bacon was just eh, didn't really notice the bacon on it. Everything tempera one were my favorite. I loved the potato tempera it was perfectly fried. Esp. with the spicy miso sauce, it was fire, I was dipping everything in it. And the mushroom was even better. Enoki mushroom was delicious. Careful with the chicken karaage it comes out HOT. Massive pieces so good and juicy. Great portion. The noodle bowl is bigger than your head so I advise to only get one if you're sharing portions. I like the flavor of the soup, very soothing. Good collagen boost too! Lots of seafood in it. Perfect soup for a cold rainy day like we experienced. Theres miso cod was good but have had better. Honestly everything was good. I would just not get the cucumber dish and the skewers we ordered next time. They have some also have tatami rooms if you want more of a traditional Japanese style like restaurant. Overall, good experience. I would come back and try the tatami experience just with avoid a few dishes.

The food is good, above average and notable for the range they offer more than anything. The speciality here is the skewers, which range from organ meat to basic white meat. But they're always perfectly cooked and really satisfying, especially if you go in a small group. I'm also a huge fan of their nabeyaki udon noodle soup. The broth is SO. GOOD. It's above and beyond your basic udon soup, really flavorful and hearty -- I think it's the brown mushrooms. I'm not normally one to rave about udon, but it just really blew me away. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty, really, which also helps.

I got mild spiciness for the beef brisket noodle and thought that was good enough for me (I can't handle spicy). My husband got no spicy and for me that felt very bland, though he liked it. The beef brisket was tender and flavorful. The coconut lava balls were crispy on the outside and had dripping coconut sago inside. Since we had so many combo meals from B's to C's, I was also able to try out the wings, the rice cake and sausage - I liked the sausage the best. For the drinks, my favorite was the passion fruit sparkling juice.
