I came here on a Sunday afternoon to have a drink and do a bit of work. The ambience is super cute with quiet and calm music playing. Their displays care charming and handwritten, giving the vibe of a mom and pop coffee shop. Which... I think they are! Not a chain as far as I can tell. When I went up to the counter, it took a moment to get service because the clerk was texting, but she put down her phone within a few seconds to take care of our order. Unfortunately, frequent table maintenance doesn't happen often here, so our table required a bit of TLC. And while it's not the staff's fault, the two people eating at the table next to us left quite a mess on the seat and table. However, the staff quickly took care of it when asked. My iced coffee with one pump of chocolate was delicious, but most of the chocolate pooled on the bottom because it wasn't stirred properly when made, meaning I had to do most of the work myself. I ordered the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich. The price online was listed at $11.45, and when I order it on GrubHub and UberEats, the price is listed as $14.95. I go inside to pick up my sandwich and I am told that the price is $15.99. After mentioning the discrepancy to the worker, she informed me that they continuously tell the owner and the owner has not updated the price. This was extremely upsetting as she still made me pay $15.99 for a sandwich when that price is not listed anywhere. (I also felt inclined to still buy it because I was on my lunch break and therefore on a time limit) It was total robbery. It is extremely upsetting because the sandwich is delicious but absolutely not worth that price especially for the portion size. I had an okay brunch at Temptations Cafe. I have gone multiple times for coffee - I really like their drinks, and I love the variety of flavors they have. Today I decided to try their food for the first time, and it was fine. I got the breakfast sandwich - it tasted a bit bland and the bread was overly toasted, but it wasn't bad. I definitely would recommend the drinks though - my pumpkin cappuccino was great. As for the ambience, I always love going to Temptations with my friends to study or just to hang out because it has such a cozy, homey vibe. I had the smoked honey ham and Swiss panini. It was a bit expensive for a sandwich but I really enjoyed how crisp the bread was after they pressed it. Do not eat here if you have allergies! I ordered and let them know I have a tree nut and walnut allergy and I was given the chicken salad sandwich which had walnuts in it, I didn't realize until I was having a reaction after I ate it. While it's not particularly notable, it's definitely a solid spot for a casual bite. One of the best parts of our visit was the convenience for getting work done. They have charging outlets under the seats and free Wi-Fi, which made it super easy to stay productive. We weren't the only ones who thought so; there were a few other folks working there as well. Kinda shocked people go there and actually eat the food. The service wasn't bad, no complaints there. I didn't appreciate the "cash preferred" sign. I prefer free food, and yet you don't see me mentioning that when I pay. But the food is comical. I don't even know how they're still in business. I was as Greek as the Greek salad I ate ... and I am not Greek. Did it make me vomit AND something else afterwards? Yes. How do I know it was this cafe? It's the only thing I ate all day! And ate is generous, I picked at it until it looked half eaten. I stopped after eating some dirt flavored lettuce. Also, what Greek salad doesn't come with olive oil? Where do they do that? Today order a breakfast sandwich with bacon so the cost is 9.80. So why was I charged 1.00 dollar for the bacon. No I didn't order from door dash or any other food app that what the server Lutfi L told me thats why i was charged the dollar I order over the phone. First of all it's a breakfast sandwich with any choice of meat. I never smell bacon cooking when I enter the restaurant the bacon is not fresh very hard burned and broken into small pieces I don't know what's that about. But I'm differently done with this place. Solid casual place to grab a bite or hang out and do some work without feeling pressured to leave. We came on a Friday afternoon and was able to get a seat and read for a few hours without any problem. Decent amount of space, even though, like other reviewers said, it can get kind of dark. The menu of sandwiches, salads, wraps, pastries was standard cafe fare, but I went a little wrong with the hummus and feta wrap. The wrap itself was nicely toasted but the distribution was off (it reminded me of eating a Chipotle burrito where you get one bite of just sour cream, then another bite of just guac) and it was very clumsy to eat. I also thought $10 was steep for a veggie-only wrap (as well as $3 for a can of Spindrift!!) but such is the time of insane prices. My neighbor's cream cheese and lox sandwich looked a lot better. Food came out briskly, not much of a wait. Coolidge Corner is for sure a walker's paradise but if you're driving, there's a big lot along Centre Street. read more

The review: Temptations café serves a really great espresso, and frankly one of the best I've had in Boston. It's a medium-dark roast with deep flavor. The almond milk perfectly complements the espresso. The staff were very kind and the barista offered to add more almond milk to my liking. The Pesto Chicken had a good amount of chicken but I wish it had been heavier on the pesto and garlic flavor. It's not safe to attract rodents to eat your fresh bread every night. Your delivery guy left your fresh bread every night at your front door and I saw a rat run towards your bread basket. When I approached, it ran under the bread. I would recommend solving this issue by leaving a temporary table outside at night so the delivery guy can put the bread on the table and not on the floor. I do not know how you can sell your contaminated bread for so many years. Safety hygiene officer can close your place down if they found out. I probably wouldn't order the muffin again because I felt like it was overpriced (and strange that they charge for butter). For a drink I got a tropical smoothie ($5.70). My mother ordered a classic bagel with lox ($10.00) and a large iced mocha ($5.00). She said both were very good. Everything tasted good. The cafe was clean and had plenty of seating. A solid café located in Coolidge Corner--it has everything a café should have: ample seating, relaxing vibe for studying or meeting up with friends, and a wide selection of various foods, snacks and beverages. I ordered a California BLT and was pleased with my order. The bacon was crispy and the other ingredients in it were fresh--so no complaints here! I also ordered a Chai Latte which I found to be really good. It is easy to make chai lattes either too cinnamon-y or lacking in flavor but I felt that the barista got the balance just right.  Overall, very satisfied. Keep in mind that this place always has a constant presence of customers so sometimes it can be a bit of a wait for good seats. Though they have ample seating, I also found the tables to be a bit too close together. Not the biggest deal, but if you and our friend are discussing some juicy gossip might be better to lower your voice even more to prevent the person next to you from hearing!! lol but other than that, definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a place for breakfast/lunch, to catch up with friends, or for studying! read more

Temptations Cafe is definitely tempting! I've been here a few times when I meet with friends to catch up. It's reassuring to know there's always a free table when I walk in. I've been ordering the Tuna and Avocado Panini. There's a good amount of crunchiness from the toasty bread, plenty of tuna, and just enough sauce to make a perfect combination. Although it's in the pricier range for just one panini, I'm fine with having this once in a while. The setting seems like a study room with a variety of seating areas: benches and chairs at regular tables, stools at spacious tables for laptops and books! A great place for having conversations or studying. There's also decent bathrooms if you're staying here for quite some time. If you asked me where to meet up or study in Brookline, I'd definitely recommend Temptations Cafe. read more

The matcha wasn't particularly good, and when I tried to put sugar in it I put salt instead as they were kept next to each other in pretty much the same container.
