    Replaced hot chocolate...was a disappointment.

I ordered a hot chocolate and it came not even like warm...it was cold. I asked if they could re-do and the lady behind the counter was very unpleasant about it while she grabbed my cup away. As I was explaining to the sister what happened the lady said "I'm making another one" and I said I know it's just explaining why happened. She brought me another which wasn't much hotter than the first one. The service level is just awful. This is my first time here and I would never come back and pay for something that wasn't what was advertised. It ordered HOT chocolate, not room temperature chocolate

I loved loved loved the black sesame latte and muesli. The homemade muesli with yogurt and fresh fruit was delicious and so light. I felt less guilty ordering a morning bun. The hubby had the croque which was served differently in a croissant with a bechamel. He can't say no to a donut if it looks and tastes as delicious as Tatte's, tasting with the brioche dough and strawberry filling. What a tease. We took a Halva chocolate chip cookie to go and ate it at the airport as we waited to depart. So long Boston but we'll be back with Tatte being the first stop.

Like a Panera with slightly fancier vibes and a more interesting menu…read more I got a slice of the tomato & mozzarella flatbread, which also came with some pesto. I appreciated the thickness of the bread. It was tasty, with both the tomato and pesto tasting fresh. I highly recommend getting it warmed up. I was less of a fan of the sparkling matcha lemonade. It was fine and refreshing, but I did yearn for some sweetness and wished I'd added some sugar or simple syrup to it. Like Panera, the food is kind of overpriced. My flatbread was 6-something dollars, and the lemonade was somewhere between 5 and 6 dollars. The staff was friendly. An employee was very nice about me bumping into him (sorry!). The cafe was packed, and that seems to be the case with every Tatte location.

They have one of the best almond croissants anywhere. To the review bashing this place for a ban mi sandwich try going to a Vietnamese place. Who gets a Vietnamese sandowdy at a Cafe???? To the other reviewer complaining about Wi-Fi, seriously? You give a place 1 star for that? Ignore the bad reviews please. This place is a gem. Staff is alwyas friendly. It does get very busy so plan accordingly. I enjoy going first thing in the morning when it's quiet before the hell of work begins. Arrivaderci!

As a bonus, I had the (mis)fortune of trying one of the hot chocolates we ordered for the kids - and their review "dad, this kind of taste like foam without sugar" was spot on. You can literally see three other coffee shops from the front door of this place - choose one of them. Now, all of that being said, they have somehow managed to generate a loyal following. I went in around 1PM and the place was literally PACKED! Not sure what the 100+ people there were having - but they were camped out, laptops in hand, having extended social hours with cups in front of them. Maybe it's the ambiance, maybe the wifi is ridiculously fast, maybe the food is better....not sure - but there is absolutely no way these people were there for the coffee (or hot chocolate).

They offer a brunch menu so you could get breakfast or lunch depending on what you like. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine which came on multigrain bread. I was a little skeptical about it coming on bread instead of an english muffin but I was proven wrong, it was so good!!! I loved mine. The vegan burger was pretty good but a little dry. The huevos rancheros weren't anything to write home about but good. We did feel rushed because of the line so the food came quick and they were quick to bring the bill over once they observed you were close to being done. I'd come back for the Eggs Benedict and their pancakes looked good. What we ordered: Eggs Benedict Florentine Huevos Rancheros Quinoa Black Bean Burger Hot Chocolate Iced Chai

The only issue we had were the yellow jacket bees/wasps that kept flying around us. We noticed the table next to us was dealing with the same issue. (We visited at the end of August). It is the cutest place ever, from their squirrel mascot, to the fireplace on each floor, to the windows on each end of the rooms that lit the rooms with sunlight, it truly had such a relaxing vibe. I loved the decor and how they converted the house into 4 stories of epic cuteness galore! Each floor had different genres of books, with the top floor (5th) housing the staff only area. The 4th floor has the children's/young adult books and I love how there are so many fun elements there, from the train that goes around the top by the ceiling, to the small red door that I think it just there for decoration? Unless it leads to some magical other part of the building... lol The ground level has a cafe and offers typical cafe food like sandwiches, soups and salads, but I think their specialty is breakfast/brunch items as well as afternoon tea. We wanted to sit down and enjoy a warm drink after our book browsing and were lucky that we were able to get seated right away, as shortly after there were larger parties coming in for brunch. Fully wheelchair accessible with access through the cafe, there is an elevator that will take you to all levels. There is one restroom on the 4th floor that is also accessible.

The notes from the staff on their picks are really helpful too. Reminds me of the independent bookstores in the UK. This kids floor is also great with toys, including a toy train, and a fireplace. Two bathrooms too on this floor and the bottom floor.
