Ted's Fish Fry needs to come to NJ asap! My boyfriend and I stopped in here on our way home from a weekend in Vermont after hearing about Ted's from a close friend and it did not disappoint! Ted's reminds me of a lot of places I used to stop with my family when I was little. Old school design and feel which some may say should be updated to todays decor but I like the nostalgia and I am a firm believer of if it ain't broke don't fix it. It's a joint for sure but a gem at the same time if that makes sense. Fried seafood = comfort food to me at least. We ended up ordering a Ted's lunch special which included ted's famous fish fry, French fries ( I subbed for onion rings), coleslaw and a medium drink. I got a clam strip dinner with sweet potato fries. We also ordered a hot dog which my boyfriend scarfed down before I could snap a picture for you guys. I really love that they serve my favorite hot dogs here ( Helmbolds ). The fish had a nice coating on the outside and honestly for me I wish it was a bit crunchier but my boyfriend liked it. The onion rings were amazing and I wish I had more rite now writing these. My clam strips could have been done a bit more in my opinion, I prefer a crunchier coating but they still hit the spot with that tartar sauce! The sweet potato fries I would swap out for onion rings next time because mark my words, I will be back! Over all this is really good fast food seafood establishment. It's a joint for sure but that's what I liked most about it. The staff are very nice and helpful with the menu. Prices are fair and the food is good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick fried seafood fix!

As good as I remember. I love stopping at Ted's. Yummy food and we loved the picnic area in the back. It was a great driving break for us and our dog.

We've been to a couple of the Ted's Fish Fry locations and both locations were EXCELLENT!! If we get the craving for seafood, we will drive an hour to go to Ted's Fish Fry because their seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection!! We've never had a bad meal at Ted's Fish Fry & we will continue to indulge as long as we live in this area.

The Buffalo Fish Fry sandwich

The sign says fish and my appetite said yes. The parking lot was full so I had high expectations. As I stood in line, I saw a photo of something called 'The Buffalo Fish Fry', surely the oddest looking item on a hot dog roll that I've ever seen. It came with carrot sticks and 'bleu' cheese. Such a strange combination; I had to have one. I sat at a picnic table outside and gazed at a long, very skinny piece of breaded fish (that was obviously dieting before it gave its life for me) on a roll. Orange sauce topped the fish; on the side, a container of 'Ken's Bleu Cheese' dressing and some warm carrot pieces in a small, clear blue bag. I didn't know how I was supposed to eat this combo. It didn't really matter. My expectations were squashed instantly. This is bad carnival midway food; fried with the only detectable seasoning being salt. I could never figure out the orange sauce because it had no flavor. I added the container of blue cheese but it made the sandwich taste worse. I attempted to console myself with the carrot sticks but they were warm and flexible. I also ordered a strawberry shake and fish tacos. Mercy, these were bad, too. Is there a high point to my experience? Yes. The woman taking the orders is a savant at memorizing orders instantly before the cashier rings them up. I watched her manage multiple very complex orders in her head one customer after another as she managed her team. It was incredible to watch. Honestly, this was worth the visit. Someone needs to offer her a job.

Not their usual hot dog sauce. More like a leftover burger thrown on top

Fresh, flaky, moist fish with a simple crumb coating. Delicious local gem with picnic tables out back to sit with our pup.

Fish was good, but I ordered fish and chips and got no chips (fries). Not sure if this was a grub hub issue or what but disappointed

It's not a great bang for your buck place that will fill the gut. The Spanish octopus, for example, was delicious, but the serving size is small, and it's in the share category on the menu! It would make a nice spot to grab a drink, sit out on their patio, which overlooks the river, or enjoy dinner in their main dining room. Since we were a large group, we ordered several appetizers, including the Ricotta Bread, Smoked Burrata Skillet and Tuna Tartare. Everything was absolutely delicious! For my entree, I ordered the King Crab Spaghetti, which had lumps of king crab mixed in the pasta. It was light and flavorful. I definitely recommend it! They also have a ton of cocktails, wines and a few beer offerings. I got a Watermelon Mule mocktail, which was so refreshing. Our server, Sarah, was so friendly and attentive to our group. I highly recommend Sea Smoke for a delicious dining experience!

We were given hot tea, water, crunchy noodles and dipping sauces to start. The lunch menu had a variety of choices, including vegan. I ordered a starter of Char Sui. For main entree platters, my mom ordered the pan fried tofu dish while I ordered the cod filet with Thai eggplant. I paid for a different side, thin rice noodles, since I didn't want the rice that came with the platter. Finished our meal with a pistachio layer cake and hand dripped coffee. Everything was enjoyable; well balanced and deliciously seasoned. A wonderful variety of Asian flavors in more traditional dishes. It is ornate, and brought me emotionally back in time. The service is more like the 70s and 80s, before food service became a rush for quick turnover. If you are looking for a spot where you can relax and not feel rushed, enjoy unique interior decor, and flavorful distinctive cuisine come here for lunch!

Stopped for lunch and ordered sesame chicken. Tea, water and some snacking noodle with 2 sauces. The wonton soup was excellent with large pillowy wontons. The sesame chicken was right portion and fried chicken pieces were hot and crisp and sauce dark sweet and tangy. Pieces of chicken were not uniform which I liked. Great service, great food and the vibe was what I had always imagined it would be from driving by.

Our second visit here 11/15/25 for dinner & drinks. Sat at the bar & were greeted by Melissa, Kathy's daughter, who brought us drinks & menus on this busy Saturday evening. Draft beers $6.75 & wines $6.25, full bar service available. Dinners were baked haddock fillet topped with a panko parmesan crust, and drizzled with a lemon-dill aioli. Served with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables. ($27) - Delish! And a chicken tender app - three very large chicken tenders with spicy garlic parm sauce (choice of 10 wing/tenders sauces - ($15). Cosy neighborhood favorite tavern. The bar is friendly & fun. Bar with hightops, big front dining room, and rear dining room that can be reserved for parties. Plenty of parking in their rear lot & street parking. Hours: Wed-Sun 4-9:30pm. Thanks to "Captain" Kathy, Melissa, & the crew. We will be back Nick & Liz, Albany, NY USA

The waitress was incredibly friendly and gave us an overview of the specials. When I saw the Peanut Butter & Jelly Wings, I knew I had to try them! They also were topped with crushed peanuts, giving them a nice crunch. For our entrees, I ordered the Steak Sandwich, and my boyfriend ordered the Tugboat Tavern Stuffed Burger. Places like this are why my Yelp profile lists Peruvian cuisine as my Current Crush at this time…read more The staff, the atmosphere, and the food, exemplify everything I've come to like about it. My sister came here first, at the recommendation of her Spanish instructor (from South America), who said the cuisine here was very close to how these dishes are actually prepared in Peru. I had only recently learned about the fairly complex background of the foods and the variety of cultures on which it's based. All of those are represented on their menu. I went with a traditional route (or maybe MY traditional route) for a first dinner here. That began with a Pisco cocktail. Mine was the Machu Picchu Express, which includes coffee liqueur and Bailey's. It was quite tasty. That was followed by chicken empanadas. What impressed me the most about these was the crust, thin without being extra-crispy, with its own flavor apart from the chicken. I'm not up to "tentacles" or "innards" for my dinners, but I was quite content with the rotisserie chicken, and I got to sample another seafood dish at the table. I love the spices on that chicken, so flavorful and so tender. I think I could eat that every day and never be tired of it (of course I'll try other entrees). The canary beans are a great side dish too, and I used the sauce on my rice. Since a lot of the seafood dishes say "fish" in the description, you may want to ask your server if they know which types of fish are going into the dish. We saw delicious looking flan go to another table, so we wanted some for ourselves for dessert. Our waitress said that they had just finished a fresh one, but it was still too hot to slice. If we wanted some, we'd probably have to wait a while. We passed, but she was nice enough to give us some complimentary shortbread cookie sandwiches. Dinner here was a great experience, and I look forward to coming back.

Absolutely delicious, freshly cooked, high quality food. I'll be back to try new dishes here.read more
