I cannot say enough about this place--it was delicious and cozy with exposed brick and a lovely back room we chilled out in. The waitress was so accommodating and sweet and genuinely seemed to love the food there. The beet dip was out of this world. My halibut was so tasty and the burger was cooked perfectly. Thanks to the local radio station for the gift card--I will return as often as I can!!!!

The Daisy is a fantastic spot. Conveniently located on Remsen St, I enjoyed sampling a few of their different dishes. They were phenomenal. The drinks were great as well. What a cute spot and the renovations and rebranding are PERFECT for the area. It's a great date night spot. I highly recommend!

Checked out The Daisy after their recent "re-brand". Overall, the food was very good and it has a cozy, trendy and intimate vibe. The burrata was a generous serving and the sauce for dipping was delicious. The bucatini was very good and had a good kick from the cherry peppers, but wasn't anything life changing. Overall, we still miss the tacos and it seems they changed the coconut margarita recipe...it just wasn't the same and didn't have the toasted coconut rim.

Another instance of needing a half star for a review 1.5. Service was 1 and food a 2. My friend and I were not imbibing so I asked if there was maybe iced tea or soda? The server pointed us to $13 mocktails. She did not understand the assignment. She left the water carafe untouched and water glasses turned upside down. We had to serve ourselves water from the initial pour to every refill. The carafe became totally empty and she never offered a refill. The food was substantially lacking. The flat bread was pretty raw dough but the toppings great. You cant mess up cured ham and arugula right. The tare tare had a decent spicy mayo sauce underneath the torta. But the meat was not fresh made and appeared scooped out of an ice cream scoop and congealed. I did try the spring onion dip which felt very deconstructed and did not have a dip consistency. Most appalling was the server leaving our dirty plates through dessert to the bill being presented. To the point I had to push my dirty dinner plate forward in order to eat our dessert. No fresh flatware or napkins offered. Such a shame I took my friend here to celebrate his birthday. The server server did not follow one step of service , keep us hydrated or even care to ask about the three food items we ordered. Clearly not returning to Daisy.

The Daisy is a cute chic taco and margarita place. The tacos are fusion, they have a bulgogi one with kimchi and a fried chicken and a coconut shrimp one plus others. Not authentic Mexican tacos but stills delicious. Classy place. The margaritas are strong! I saw a sign for buy one get one margaritas on Wednesdays. They have a decent amount of tables even though it's a small place, there is a back room with more tables. The servers were attentive and friendly. The coconut margarita was creamy and I liked the coconut shreds on the rim. Margaritas and tacos are all around $13. Tacos come with 2. Bill can definitely add up but it's worth it. Great environment to catch up with friends. The chip appetizer with pico de gallo was delicious. The chips had a great crisp, they tasted deep fried. Perfectly salted. I liked my coconut shrimp tacos the best. 2 big meaty shrimp in each taco, crunchy and cooked well and the pineapple in it gave it a nice sweetness. The fried chicken tacos were a mix of dark and light meat chunks, which were very tender and soft. Though a bit too soft for my likening of chicken texture. And the sauce has a very strong cilantro flavor. If I'm in the area again I would love to come back and try other tacos and margarita flavors!

One of the worst breakfasts I've had in a while. 43 dollars for 2 coffees and 2 toasts. One of the coffees was made with oat milk instead of almond and then was told it wasn't after watching the girl at the counter make it. Asked for tomatoes on the side of the Mediterranean toast and a regular avocado toast. The Mediterranean toast came with no tomatoes and the avocado toast came with them. When I asked for it to be remade with no tomatoes she said I didn't ask for no tomatoes on the avo toast and I told her that they are not listed on the menu. Refire took over 15 minutes. For toast. Refire egg was raw. Don't recommend for the price, service or food

When The Daisy in Troy closed, on their way to re-booting as Frankie Bird, I discovered that my review of that restaurant had been transferred to this site. NO MA'AM!! Different business, different review. So I was "obligated" to come here. Oh the horrors. Though my experience here probably has just as many superlatives, maybe even a few more, because I like the space here better, and it's so much easier to get parking in Cohoes than Troy. So yeah, everything is about the same, i.e., consistently good... fantastic margaritas, tasty tacos, terrific laid-back, relaxed, atmosphere. Just as I had done with their Troy establishment, this is a place I want to return with friends. Often.

A great addition to Remsen Street, The Daisy offers simple menu of "fast food" and Mexican "street food." We stopped to grab a bite before a show at the Music Hall. It was quite full and busy because it was mid-week and few other restaurants were open. We had been curious and felt it was kismet. They were so nice to us and found a place to squeeze us in at the bar. We ordered that day's special margarita - blood orange- it was delicious. For food we ordered the coconut shrimp and pork tacos. They were prepared in fresh, authentic way that allows the fresh flavors to come through. The tacos were fresh, bright, and done right. The Daisy is an intimate cozy spot for food and/or drinks. I look forward to a next visit.

Great spot for margs and tacos! Went here on a Saturday night and found a spot at the bar. I started with an order of nachos, which were so good. You could tell the chips were homemade and they were topped with the most delicious queso and guacamole. I also tried the shrimp and pork tacos, which were both excellent. I loved the pineapple salsa on the shrimp tacos and both had the perfect amount of heat. I ordered the Smokey Blackberry and Spicy Pineapple margaritas, which were excellent. The staff was also super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

I can put down quite a bit of food so if I order the "three traditional tacos" then I'm usually left wanting just one more... so I typically go for the burrito to try and fill up a bit more. The chorizo is delicious and seasoned very well. The salsa verde that is served with each taco/burrito is also delicious. During winter they put up some "bubble" tents outside with heaters. They don't have much seating inside and if the restaurant is busy then you might be caught in a pickle... but I've been lucky enough to find a free table here reliably. I was so glad to have dinner there recently. Delicioso! My friend ordered the three steak taco dinner while I had the three chicken taco dinner. Then, we traded one. The tacos are served on small corn tortillas. It generally takes more than one taco to feel full. The steak tacos came with wonderful melted cheese and a beef dipping sauce. The chicken tacos came with salsa verde, plenty of cilantro and chopped up red onions. We each had a Margarita which are awesome, too. The staff is small but friendly and efficient. There isn't a lot of seating inside the restaurant. Just a few tables. Most of the seating is actually in the outdoor patio. In cold weather, large clear heated plastic bubbles or igloos are installed on the patio. Each holds a table and enough seating for several people. It's incredibly cute. There's even table service, but most people ordered take out and then walked over to eat in the bubbles. There's also parking on premises which makes the dining experience very convenient. We ate-in and had a blast. I look forward to coming back. They don't take reservations but guests are encouraged to call ahead to ask about seating.

There was a consistent steady flow of customers, eating in and picking up orders to go. On this frigid day I think that is a testament to the quality of the establishment. The decor inside is delightful, they have potted plants hanging from the ceiling with vines sprawling out, growing along strategically placed lines across the ceiling. Several playful piñatas are strewn about. It was a quiet, calm atmosphere. Even with the grills and ovens clearly cranking the dining room was chilled. Handmade signs are everywhere most in Spanish, with some English translations underneath. Laminated menus are also available. We waited what I thought was an appropriate time for our food, the items were brought out at separate times. One item completely forgotten, so we took it to-go. Fine though we were stuffed with what we had. We had ordered one steak and one shrimp taco (3 of each came out) definitely a miscommunication but sour cream on the side was noted and came on the side. We also enjoyed chips with a spicy green salsa, along with a voluptuous chicken quesadilla.

Although the scenery and overall aesthetic make the place look like an inviting attraction, once inside, the concept feels more like a Venus flytrap. (If it were possible to give a half-star or no-star review for the quality of the food and drinks I was served, that would be my rating instead of the 1-star review I gave.) While eating, I found myself constantly wondering how other people there were enjoying the food. The demographics seemed to represent a specific group, yet it was difficult to understand how such a similar experience could be perceived so differently. Even though, the food and drinks were terrible, I can say that the service was not. That is the only positive aspect I can point out. We were seated quickly, and our waitress was attentive and responsive, even during busy moments. This made me wonder if they receive overflow customers from nearby restaurants with holding. As this was the following position that me and person that I went with were positioned in. Below are the items we ordered, along with detailed feedback on their overall taste: ------------------------------------------------- Items Ordered: - 2 orders | Birria Tacos ($$37.90) comment: I never thought it was possible to receive birria tacos where both the meat and the sauce were completely tasteless. No matter how much I tried to use the sauce and other condiments provided, nothing improved the flavor. While eating, I kept thinking that even Taco Bell would have made more decent tacos. - 2 order | (Custom Order) Strawberry Mojito ($28.00) comment: Might as well have ordered straight liquor, as the mixed drinks just tasted exactly like that with some sort of sweet syrup that did nothing to appease the overall taste. - 1 order | Fried Mexican Cheese Sticks ($12.95) comment: Upon trying it, the first thing that stood out was a flavor that resembled cardboard, with only a very slight (and I mean slight) hint of Dorito chips. - 1 order | Expresso Martini ($15.00): comment: Tasted like straight vodka, nothing else - 1 order | Crunch Wrap Supreme ($20.90) comment: This was the only slightly decent item we ordered. Even then, when compared to a fast-food chain like Taco Bell, they would likely make a better wrap than what was served here--and for a lower price. CONCLUSION: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope they take this feedback as encouragement to improve their food and drink quality, because what was presented was truly disappointing. I came in expecting to enjoy a lunch date, and while it at least gave us something to laugh about, I'm serious when I say the items we ordered were atrocious. I would rate everything a 1/10, except for the Crunch wrap Supreme, which gets a 3/10.

Excellent food, not so pleasant atmosphere…read more We stopped at Liza's of Troy for breakfast in Feb 2025 based on good reviews and appealing food pics. The order was taken at the register and then brought to our table. The food tasted great and was served quickly! All the dishes had a beautiful presentation! Coffee was a French press and was really good! The place had no cream or sugar for the coffee. Also there were no salt and pepper shakers on any table. When I asked for some salt they gave me a plastic sauce cap with some salt on the bottom to take it with my fingers. It was quite weird. For some reason "Butternut Squash Bowl" had only one egg while all other breakfast items had two. Not sure why this one was special. The real problem however was the smell. The very first impression we got upon entering was a strong smell of fried bacon and other foods. It was like standing next to a stove because the space is fully open, with no divider between the sitting area and the kitchen. In such a setup you need a strong hood exhaust but that in turn would make a lot of noise. Anyway, instead of taking our time enjoying the breakfast and great coffee we had to finish it asap and escape to prevent our jackets absorbing the smell :( We are giving Liza's of Troy 4 stars is it got 5+ on the food and coffee and 3 on the interior and atmosphere. Food ordered Butternut Squash Bowl - excellent and nicely presented. Had to order additional egg though. Breakfast Bowl - excellent and nicely presented. Big Betty Breakfast Sandwich - delicious.
