Ordered Al pastor Tacos, guacamole and chips, and a soda and margarita. The tacos were not warm, tortillas did not seem griddled, they were okay, highly edible. The guacamole was pretty disappointing, tasted maybe like there was some kinda preservatives in it. The salsa that came with the tacos was bland and for a authentic taco shop was more like something I would expect from a generic taco shop in NH. They claimed on the website, they have a small but curated tequila section, they had brand one on hand. Margarita was okay they use margarita mix, not the fresh lime juice stated on the website.... I really abhor sour mix. The Jaurito soda was as expected. Highly edible not something I'd seek out again Counter service Person at till said Birria are popular, we are not fans of that style as the can be soggy... But if you like that variety, I'd give that the green light

    Nice neon sign.

La Capital Tacos serves up some of the most authentic tacos in the Capital Region. We visited after I read the reviews and the experience exceeded my expectations. I was so glad to have dinner there recently. Delicioso! My friend ordered the three steak taco dinner while I had the three chicken taco dinner. Then, we traded one. The tacos are served on small corn tortillas. It generally takes more than one taco to feel full. The steak tacos came with wonderful melted cheese and a beef dipping sauce. The chicken tacos came with salsa verde, plenty of cilantro and chopped up red onions. We each had a Margarita which are awesome, too. The staff is small but friendly and efficient. There isn't a lot of seating inside the restaurant. Just a few tables. Most of the seating is actually in the outdoor patio. In cold weather, large clear heated plastic bubbles or igloos are installed on the patio. Each holds a table and enough seating for several people. It's incredibly cute. There's even table service, but most people ordered take out and then walked over to eat in the bubbles. There's also parking on premises which makes the dining experience very convenient. We ate-in and had a blast. I look forward to coming back. They don't take reservations but guests are encouraged to call ahead to ask about seating.

Carne asada burrito. Very bland, mostly unseasoned rice and beans.

Just a shout out to this taco bowl. My coworker picked up lunch from here and I chose the Birria taco bowl. Oh man, this little container was packed to the brim with bright and fresh ingredients. Everything was so flavorful, I was honestly shocked how good this was. It was rice, a ton of birria meat, black beans, cheese, guac, pico, red onion, cilantro, and included cream and green salsa. The was enough for two lunch and I'm so happy I tried it. I will definitely be back for more of the menu. I need to try the birria tacos because the meat was killer.

One of my favorite spots in Troy - hands down! If you're looking for fresh, authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go. I've rarely ever deviated from the "Tacos Con Todos" or tacos with cheese, lettuce, Pico De Gallo, and guacamole on them. I usually also order the chicken, carne asada, and carnitas. They're incredibly fresh and delicious! The meat is always so tender and juicy. Their margaritas are also fantastic as are the Guacamole and chips, and churros. You really can't go wrong with anything you order! Also, they only have a few indoor tables, but they have recently installed igloos on their outdoor patio with heaters in them. Their outdoor patio is also the best place to be when the weather is nice. Highly recommend!!

You have several options for Tacos in downtown Troy - this is my favorite among them. The tacos are fresh, they're quickly prepared, and they're filled with ingredients as opposed to slathered with sauce. The margaritas are reasonably priced too. In nice weather, it's a great place to sit outside for your meal, savor your tacos, and perhaps people watch. Everyone who works here is just so friendly too. La Capital is never a bad choice when looking for a meal in the area.

Staff was friendly and food was excellent. I had birria tacos and friend had pastor bowl with chips and guacamole (guacamole was fresh and tasty) The tacos were tender and well seasoned with caramelized cheese.and fresh toppings. If you like tacos this place is bomb!

    Birria tacos here are amazing!

The food here is delicious. I have enjoyed everything I've ever eaten here. The birria tacos are the best I've had in the area.

I was really in the mood for some good Mexican food so I decided to give La Capital Tacos a try. With that known, I ordered the beef birria tacos and a chicken quesadilla. To start, the beef birria tacos were very good. To explain, the shells were crunchy and definitely homemade. In addition, the brisket was very flavorful, but a little chewy. Furthermore, the beef consommé was juicy and matched perfectly with the tacos. These were simply tasty tacos. After that, I tried the chicken quesadilla and it was decent. To enumerate, the chicken was tender and flavorful. However, the tortilla was really thick and I didn't love the taste of it. The quesadilla was fine, but I've had better. In summary, La Capital Tacos has excellent beef birria tacos, but mediocre quesadillas.

Looked up this place on TikTok for some suggestions and we went to celebrate my friend's son graduation and I have to say the service food and ambiance was great. The food was very tasty. A place to try in Troy.

There was a consistent steady flow of customers, eating in and picking up orders to go. On this frigid day I think that is a testament to the quality of the establishment. The decor inside is delightful, they have potted plants hanging from the ceiling with vines sprawling out, growing along strategically placed lines across the ceiling. Several playful piñatas are strewn about. It was a quiet, calm atmosphere. Even with the grills and ovens clearly cranking the dining room was chilled. Handmade signs are everywhere most in Spanish, with some English translations underneath. Laminated menus are also available. We waited what I thought was an appropriate time for our food, the items were brought out at separate times. One item completely forgotten, so we took it to-go. Fine though we were stuffed with what we had. We had ordered one steak and one shrimp taco (3 of each came out) definitely a miscommunication but sour cream on the side was noted and came on the side. We also enjoyed chips with a spicy green salsa, along with a voluptuous chicken quesadilla.

We had a reservation at 6pm and felt invisible when we walked in, just to be seated in a table 5 feet away. Maybe they were understaffed, but friendly staff could have gone a long way here. We started with cocktails and they were all good. We didn't really have opportunities to order more, so I only tried one. We started with the Fried Burrata and Caesar salad. The fried buratta was delicious but not enough bread, or a spoon served with it so most of the sauce went to waste. We loved the pesto on the dish. The Caesar salad was extremely underdressed and under seasoned. None of us enjoyed it. We then ordered entrees, I got the flat iron and they ordered the carbonara and the burger. The flat iron was ordered rare, and served blue. The steak and sauce on it was cold. I didn't complain because I didn't want to try and call her over, they did not check on us after the food was delivered. The sauce on it was okay but I think it took away from the flavor of the meat, very strong cumin and chili flavor, a little gritty. The fries were good and the broccolini was mushy and overcooked. The carbonara was also a miss, it was overly peppered and unpleasant to eat. This dish was ultimately sent back and we explained it was overly peppered and inedible, and she ordered something else. My friend who ordered the burger really enjoyed it and it looked great. The server was not accommodating at all and barely checked on us. We sent food back and the server just threw it away without a thought in the world, and it remained on the bill. At this point we just wanted to pay and leave. Bad service can ruin a night, and it put a damper on our girls night out. My photos came out impeccable, unfortunately most of it looked better than it tasted. I could look over bad service if the food was great, but when neither is, it's a hard pass from me.

The red beans and rice was equally tasty and complimented the meal overall. The steak tacos did not make it. It seemed as though the quality of the beef was poor and/or it was cooked too long, tasteless and hard, something you should never put in a taco. As for the shell, I thought it would be rubbery and tasteless as well. I couldn't eat very much of it before it landed in the trashcan. The service was very friendly. All in all it was an OK experience, just don't serve that bad quality steak and or poorly cooked steak with the terrible tasting shell again. You're not doing yourself any favors. We all really enjoyed our meals. Most of us ordered the three taco combo (any three tacos on the menu) and a side of rice and beans! While the tacos are very simple, they are quite tasty. The carnitas pork taco is really tasty, especially with the pickled onions! Yum!! The steak tacos had good flavor, but there was definitely grizzle to be found in them! The chicken was great! All of their tacos are served in a double soft corn taco, which helps them stay together through every bite! Overall, the tacos here are truly authentic, full of Mexican flavors, and perfect to cure any taco craving! Now, the only thing they need is a liquor license to serve some delicious margaritas to wash down the tacos!! . Service was okay. They forgot silverware, so we sat for a bit unable to eat our rice and beans (or add them to the tacos, which is what I do). They also forgot two side of rice and beans, brought one after a reminder, but the final one was never received! We all left full and happy, so that's great! We will definitely go back again! PS. They have a full menu, much more than just tacos!! **We were so hungry that I forgot to take pictures!
