Check The classic seitan burrito recreates the experience of a white kid taco night in the 90s - ground seitan beef, lettuce, fritos, queso. I'd had those taco nights on my mind lately and this hit the spot. The BBQ jackfruit burrito was also great - I had a few bites of my spouse's. Non-vegan spouse was 100% satisfied with burrito. Fried pickles were great and rumor has it this special will be around awhile. They're as thin as french fries and they must use some sort of sorcery to get them evenly battered and coated. These were perfect for sharing with someone who normally hate fried pickles because they're too thick and who hates mayonnaise. Burrito Burrito must have designed these just for us because these come with a red pepper crema instead of an aioli. Diagnosis: delicious. read more

The ambiance was amazing. The food was overly salted. We ordered 2 burritos and the portions for the burritos was huge. The flavors were certainly very varied as there's many fillings for the burrito but I really struggled with how salty it was. The guac is watery whereas I prefer a traditional guac with lots of avocado. read more

Both of our burritos were fried...figuring if you're going to jump in, make it a belly flop! The cipher steak bundle was stuffed with vegan steak, rice, black beans and topped with a tangy sauce and a pumpkin seed parm dust. Really substantial and satisfying with notes of cinnamon and cumin throughout. The other was a Space Cowboy, jammed with vegan pulled pork, onion rings, rice, beans, red cabbage slaw, bbq sauce...this sucker was slammin'! If there is a criticism, it would be that we got some stale tortilla chips with our order of chips and guac. These folks are talented and creative. After friends recommending this place a gazillion times, I finally tried it out! As a celiac, I tend to avoid vegan restaurants as a rule. It's strange, because many consider "vegan" and "gluten allergy" to be synonymous, but when Berben & Wolff's literally serves seitan sandwiches (aka gluten on gluten), I avoid avoid avoid. Not Burrito Burrito. They label their menu and they are more than happy to help you find an item that satisfies. I'm also usually sketched out by fake meats because I don't know what's in them, but again, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I don't feel like I'm going to accidentally hurt myself here. That said, the food is DELICIOUS. The rumors are true: burrito squared freaking ROCKS. I felt like I was in Texas. The sauces are delightful. This is a great spot for TexMex-ish vegan take-away; I'm really happy that they're here in the area. They have several options for the "meat", like chickpeas or jackfruit or seitan, and you can choose to have your entree as a burrito, taco, bowl, or salad. There are also sides like queso and chips, chips and guac, mac and cheese, and rice and beans. Interestingly the menu online is way larger than the big simplied one I see there in person, so it looks like I have more exploring to do -- for instance, I somehow missed that they have burgers. The portions are large, and the food is impressively well-seasoned and flavorful. Beware if you are trying to go low-sodium, however, as they are heavy on the salt. The food is highly calorific, so this isn't the right spot if you're searching for healthy or light options. My current go-to is the space cowboy burrito which has among other ingredients: jackfruit "pulled pork" with coca-cola bbq sauce, poblano slaw, jalapeno garlic crema, and fried onion rings. I saw images of the vegan nachos and being a Hispanic rooted guy, i was already hype at the idea of having a regular vegan nacho spot if everything went well. Everything was better than well. Visited burrito burrito in September 2020 during a few days stay near Troy. Its a dive-ish joint tucked inside a modern building. The guy who is taking orders was a bit abrupt but did answer some of our questions about the menu & beverage items. The don't have seating inside but there are two tables and chairs outside. We ordered the Feesh and Buffalo Chickpea burritos and some Jarritos. It was a little pricey but expected with 'vegan' food. There was a hair in my burrito which wasn't great to find, but we told the guy and he got another one made and served it to me as we sat outside. He seemed a tad annoyed when we told him about it, like this had happened before. The burritos are HUGE which is a nice bargain for your buck! Worth trying out but nothing amazing. read more

I like it. I had the day off so I ordered takeaway from Troy where I never get to. I got the pulled pork burrito because Coca-Cola bbq sauce was really intriguing. There were chunks of romaine (or cabbage) in this that made it a little tricky to eat as a burrito. The flavors together were really good and the burrito was large. Burrito Burrito is here to further prove two facts: 1) The Capital Region is a haven for plant-based eating 2) Vegan doesn't always mean healthy I say #2 in a totally loving way. I LOVE unhealthy vegan food, pioneered by Berben and Wolff's in this area, and I am ecstatic to see this food genre on the rise. The first time I made my order of a Tex-Mex Seitan burrito a "burrito burrito" (Double wrapped in a cheddar quesadilla and extra stuffed) I was ill-prepared for what I was getting myself into. The monster burrito that was placed in front of me was the length of my forearm and had to weigh in at about 3 lbs. Safe to say I got about 4 meals out of that thing, sooo also a bargain! The house made "fritos" used in the burrito are even better than the name brand IMO and the house made hemp queso makes this vegetarian not even miss the real deal. When vegan food is made this well, it really does make it difficult to argue against it. There is no reason to make animals suffer in order to eat what we enjoy, and I am so happy to have Burrito Burrito around to add to that claim. read more

I work around the area and only have 30 minute break. It's hard looking for a good place to eat that serves fast. I remember this place through google and came across it. The service was fast, and the cashier was friendly. I didn't have to wait too long for my food. When I got it I was soo impressed by how delicious everything was. I had the "pulled pork" in a bowl and it was delicious!! Very filling too. For something vegan you forget your not eating meat. I don't understand how extremely basic orders - no substitutions, no add-ons, just straightforward selections from the menu - are mishandled. Burrito Burrito is a hip TexMex restaurant that sits adjacent to the Troy Makers Space, and yeah they're vegan. In essence, they have 5 different fillings that you can enjoy 3 different ways (Burrito, Taco, Bowl). The two go-tos for me: - Feesh The feesh is a take on seafood style, killing it with a crisp crunchy bite that tastes and smells of the ocean. It has a poblano slaw that is amazing. - TexMex This is my absolute favorite. TexMex seasoned seitan, with corn tortilla pieces, and a damn delicious hemp queso. I swear it tastes like and feels like beef in every single way. If I'm really feeling good, I'll make it a Burrito Burrito: double wrapped with queso and extra stuffed. I have some qualms with Vegan restaurants, focusing too much of being a substitute for beef than bask in its own sense of identity. This place is literally everything you want in a restaurant. Both the dudes working there were super friendly and nice. The price was right considering it's a small restaurant and you want to give them a little extra love. We had three different burritos and they were all great in different ways. The Tex-Mex Seitan and Frito Burrito-Burrito, the Smokey BBQ Jackfruit Burrito, and the Buffalo Chickpea Buritto. All distinctively different and fresh tasting. The "Burrito-Burrito!" implies it is double wrapped in a quesadilla and extra stuffed, truely a sharable item. It weighs about as much as a newborn baby but much more cute. The chips and queso is a savory side and tge salsa is a bit smoky and very good. They have a varierty of hot sauces at the tables it crank up the heat if you wish. Other offerings inclue tacos, nachos, empenadas, filled tortilla bowls, and rice & beans. There is an assortment of beverages, including horchata and tea. They also have a cooler loaded with bottle beverages, sodas, seltzer, local brews, and other alcoholic beverages including cider and wine. Bring a friend, they won't believe you that it's vegan. And everything on the menu already is so they don't necessarily label it as such. Their homemade twinkies are a sweet and delightful finish to your meal. I keep on getting the freesh burrito, so that's all I can really review, other than telling you that the staff is also friendly and great! The freesh is...I don't know how to describe such a burrito. A blend of all the right textures - creamy, crispy, satisfying. It's a masterful blend of flavors and textures, and has a healthy and fabulous array of vegetables, seaweed, and creamy sauce. I don't know what makes it so awesome but I crave it often. Friends usually get something else bc I think they're freaked out by the seaweed, and they always just rave about whatever they get. I've got friends who come ask the way from across the country to eat here. The atmosphere is very under- stated. It's a hard place to find, in a small and unlikely space without a lot of seating, so to- go is best. But a single burrito from this place is at least 2 full meals, and they're so great. read more

What a pleasant surprise. We had no idea these guys were all vegetarian, and we found them by accident. We were up in Troy visiting RPI, and went into town for some lunch. A couple places we looked for were closed, and then we stumbled on Burrito Burrito - yay! We happen to be a mostly vegetarian household, and when we got there we were looking at the menu incredulously . . . We checked at the counter and they said YES, it IS all vegan! We ended up getting one of each of the burritos. You can't go wrong, they were all really good. Staff was great, and the atmosphere is a bit of an office-complex, but just fine. I sometimes find that vegan places don't feel like they need to really develop flavors because they are already offering a valuable commodity. My first visit: Really cute spot, friendly people, and good music. I got the jackfruit burrito and it was the perfect portion. Had just the right amount of seasoning and I didn't feel the need to sauce it. Besides the jackfruit it had dots of fresh cilantro, pickled onions, and a delicious mix of fried beans. The prices were very fair. There is a huge selection of amazing hot sauces + a lot of awesome beverage options. Although you order at the counter, I was still checked up on by the staff to see how everything was and informed of the complimentary coffee. All my vegan friends had been raving about this place for months. I finally stopped in, and now I know why the raves. It's a small, unassuming- looking place, right behind Center of Gravity in Troy. The menu is on a board, and at first glance, I thought it seemed a little Spartan. Ha. You know how you can go into a place with a hundred things on the menu, and maybe 2 of them are really, super good? This place might have a small menu, but EVERYTHING is PHENOMENALLY great. I really recommend the "Freesh." It's a substantial burrito, with marinated, breaded, crispy, delicate, flavorful tofu and a creative and lively blend of perfectly done vegetables, in a light coating of some kind of sauce that sets the whole thing off in ways hard to even describe. Hands down, this is the best burrito I've ever had. Their food is hearty, healthy, vegan, and absolutely gourmet. A rare combination indeed. The jackfruit is also spectacular. I cannot rave enough about this place. For those with nut allergies, I'm pretty sure I read on the board that it's a nut free establishment, so eat with happy confidence for once! Also, staff is very cool regarding service dogs, and while that SHOULD be the case everywhere, sadly it isn't. There are plenty of venues breaking the law in that regard, so it was refreshing to find that they know the ADA here ave respect the civil rights of people with disabilities who dare to exist in public.
