Roswell tacos and the unfish tacos.

Absolutely delicious. I recommend this place for all not just vegans. You'll appreciate the quality of the food and the care they take even for delivery. You can make any burrito into a Crunchwrap!

Spicy steak bowl. Filling. Needed greens.
    Maria C.

Really 4.5. Got the spicy steak bowl for $11. The 'steak' is firm and flavorful. No heat, so the spicy is other spices they marinated it in. Fatty, filling - I only finished half. Really needed crunch and acid. I'd take half that as topping over greens dressed with a squeeze of lime. Add a few radish and two chips as garnish and i'd buy that. Wish i had seen the homemade hot sauce I'll try the tacos next.

We are STUFFED!! Delicious vegan Mexican delivery Since I seem to be extremely lactose intolerant (as well as having a gluten intolerance) I've become really fearful of ordering out/eating out. I don't want to take the risk of cross contamination and end up getting extremely sick from it ... so I did a Yelp search for vegan food nearby and found Burrito Burrito! Their menu was clearly marked on what was gluten-free and since it's all vegan I don't have to worry about dairy products!! Win win and DELICIOUS

WHAT BROUGHT ME HERE Located in the heart of downtown Troy,…read moreEmry's Garden stood out to me as it sits on the corner of an intersection in direct view of cars passing over the bridge into the city. I decided to eat here in celebration of getting a new job in the city. THE ATMOSPHERE Arriving at 8pm on a Friday night, the whole restaurant was packed. I made reservations so we were seated immediately. There was almost no overhead lighting- instead, most of the restaurant was lit by downward-lighting lamps at each table. Each table had a jar of flowers which added nice color to the environment; it was woodsy, but not in the polished, laminated sense. It felt more natural, cabin-like, combining well with the shrubbery, paintings with big frames, natural lighting from windows, and giant mirrors. The place was small, packed, and loud with people and background music. That's my only minor complaint; it was quite loud from all the people and everything was tight together, and I think the music was good, but would be even better with some more abstract, atmospheric score. This isn't the place to watch the game; there's no TV's. But it is the place to order a fancy cocktail or a Banana Bread Old Fashioned. And there is a bar. THE SERVICE I happened to know our waitress from high school on accident and she was wonderful. We were checked up on frequently, our food arrived fast, and the conversation was enjoyable. THE FOOD I ordered the Mickey's Riggies, a Rigatoni dish in marinara sauce mixed with peppers, chicken, mushroom, and Parmesan cheese. Flawless. My friend & I also got Bavarian Pretzel sticks as our starter and man, that buffalo sauce was good. Costed $60 without tip. THE BATHROOM My design professor once said if you want to understand the personality of a restaurant, check out its bathroom. Well, that didn't really apply to this place. The men's bathroom was a little jank, unlike the great atmosphere of the restaurant itself. It wasn't disgusting, just a little jank. BONUS: THE SPEAKEASY Yes, there's a speakeasy, but you're not going to learn about it on this Yelp review. You should visit it yourself if you get the chance. Dress up.

We waited almost 2 hours for our food and when it came out it was not worthy of the wait. The staff and management had no idea what to tell us and kept saying that the food was almost ready. After waiting 1 and a half hours they just threw up their hands and said there was nothing they could do about it. They took money off the bill, but the experience was a big zero!

It was darkly lit inside (with pinkish/red lights no less); it was extremely loud to the point that I had trouble understanding what my wife was saying (which might not be the background music!); and the prices were expensive. The entire night they played 1980s New-wave British music which I don't mind, but had it been something I detest I would have lost my mind. We were seated at a tiny table with a small candle which provided some actual heat on the cold winter night. Our server was extremely helpful and though he didn't have all the answers he did offer to go and find out. They have a long menu but it doesn't have a lot of food options on it, with most of the pages devoted to alcohol. They had only one dessert option when we were there. My wife and I both ordered the Hanger Steak with fries, mushroom sauce, and green salad (about $40 each). Hanger steak is my favorite cut and hard to find so I jumped on it. Food came out in about 25 minutes, which is amazing considering how small their kitchen is. The steak was cooked perfectly (they didn't ask how we wanted it), smothered in a lovely mushroom sauce, and covered an ample portion of crispy homemade fries which were so good I would have thought them bagged frozen items. Even the basic salad which was just various types of lettuce was great. They aren't cheap, but they are focusing on "farm to table" and that means quality food at commensurate (fair?) prices. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are $15, so if you want something lighter but still tasty you can go that route. Speaking of light, if you go into the bathroom on the right you will find a cold, dark, tiny room lit solely by a PINK bulb. It feels like being on a spaceship (as if I know what that is like), and after when you leave seeing the main light in the restaurant is very jarring. It was a fun experience but not inexpensive and not one that checks the boxes that I look for in a restaurant. Dark, loud, and cramped might be hip for the young or "save the earth" crowd, but I am too old to give up creature comforts for such things. The food, though expensive, was absolutely outstanding in every way though and I won't forget that steak for a long time.

The food here is delicious, three of us ordered the burger and fries and one of us ordered the fettuccine with crab meat. The fries really stood out. Excellent food, not so pleasant atmosphere…read more We stopped at Liza's of Troy for breakfast in Feb 2025 based on good reviews and appealing food pics. The order was taken at the register and then brought to our table. The food tasted great and was served quickly! All the dishes had a beautiful presentation! Coffee was a French press and was really good! The place had no cream or sugar for the coffee. Also there were no salt and pepper shakers on any table. When I asked for some salt they gave me a plastic sauce cap with some salt on the bottom to take it with my fingers. It was quite weird. For some reason "Butternut Squash Bowl" had only one egg while all other breakfast items had two. Not sure why this one was special. The real problem however was the smell. The very first impression we got upon entering was a strong smell of fried bacon and other foods. It was like standing next to a stove because the space is fully open, with no divider between the sitting area and the kitchen. In such a setup you need a strong hood exhaust but that in turn would make a lot of noise. Anyway, instead of taking our time enjoying the breakfast and great coffee we had to finish it asap and escape to prevent our jackets absorbing the smell :( We are giving Liza's of Troy 4 stars is it got 5+ on the food and coffee and 3 on the interior and atmosphere. Food ordered Butternut Squash Bowl - excellent and nicely presented. Had to order additional egg though. Breakfast Bowl - excellent and nicely presented. Big Betty Breakfast Sandwich - delicious.

After…read moreworking 10 hrs a day in my own diner kitchen each week I take two days off and take myself somewhere with more/new people AND restaurants. Albany is a 2.5 hrs drive for me and I make a "mini vacation" out of it. I research restaurants online (Google and Yelp) and build up lists of places I think I might want to visit. Because the ONLY thing I'm interested in when I road trip is where I'm going to be eating. Bar Vegan has been on my list for at least a month now. I'm not Vegan, but I LOVE the fact that there is a Vegan SCENE in Albany and I am HERE for it. My thing is anywhere I'm going to dine has to also have a full bar. Because I am going to spend some time and have some drinks AND eat all the food. Dining out is my only leisure activity and I make the most of it. This past week my car was at The Dodge Dealership all day and when I finally got it back (about 4:30pm Wednesday) I knew I needed to wait out rush hour before attempting to head back to Vermont from Albany. I chose one of the restaurants on my list and started driving. The restaurant I had intended to go to is on Lark Street in Albany. Come to find out FOUR of the restaurants on my "To Do" list are on Lark Street. I had no idea what Lark Street was. Lark Street Is FABULOUS!! What a WONDERFUL neighborhood. PACKED with fantastic, local, independent, DIVERSE restaurants/eateries, independent funky shops and businesses, beautiful brownstone type buildings; all intersections are the original, exposed, cobblestone from the 19th century. FREE, abundant on street parking. ALL THE VIBES!! And as I was driving up Lark Street, falling in LOVE with it, I passed Bar Vegan and made the decision to go THERE! So I forgot about my planned destination, parked my car and headed. Bar Vegan is precisely what it sounds like: a bar that is also Vegan. The menu is limited, but also is PRECISELY what you want in a bar. Fresh, delicious, diverse, shareable...VEGAN!! This is SUCH a good concept. It's hard for me to emphasize how great Bar Vegan is. The place itself is fantastic. HUGE, open, welcoming space. Tons of light and greenery (there's apparently a second floor, but I did not see that). The bar is large and welcoming. The seats are comfortable. There are TVs. (I like that in a bar...I have no idea why...). The place is SPOTLESS. Next door is a Poke Bowl spot that looks pretty great. It is connected inside to Bar Vegan. As in at the end of the bar you can just walk into the Poke Bowl place. I asked if the Poke Bowls were also Vegan?? My bartender told me they were not. Bar Vegan just opened up the wall between the two businesses to share their air conditioning. And THAT is all you need to know about the VIBE in this place. It is IMMACULATE. These are good people doing good things and serving good food and drink! I am a Gin and Tonic girl. You think it is a simple drink. It is not. Most places can't produce a decent G&T because their tonic is flat. I had two Gin and Tonics at Bar Vegan and I tried two gins I had never had before (which is big for me - I know what I like and that's what I drink...). Both were very good. My bartender allowed me to look at both bottles and read them to decide if that's what I wanted to try. And then she made excellent G&Ts with those gins. I sampled almost everything on the menu. It was ALL good. STAND OUTS: The Vegan Sushi Roll: As I mentioned above, I am not Vegan. In fact, sushi is my JAM and I do NOT do these types of huge, fried sushi rolls. Ever. But I did this one. And it is FANTASTIC. The menu says it is meant for 2 people and would be perfect for sharing. It is HUGE. It is built around tempura sweet potato, so is quite filling. Hands down the BEST Vegan sushi roll I have ever had (and I've had quite a few). Could easily be your entire meal. Delicious, satisfying. Ticked ALL the boxes! Bang Bang Cauliflower: Look, I'm a sucker for anything Bang Ban or Cauliflower. So I was IN on this. It is DELICIOUS. Delightfully spicy and warm and perfectly cooked cauliflower (I do not like my cauliflower crunchy...). I also had Golden Triangles: Delicious fried Tofu with peanuts and Asian seasonings. REALLY GOOD. Just lighter fare. Zucchini Fries: ACTUAL Zucchini battered and fried. VERY GOOD. Chick Pea Bruschetta: which is when I could not go on. I was too full. BUT! These are EXCELLENT!! LOADED up Bruschetta with Chick Peas. Delicious and perfect for sharing. Ask for extra napkins... SUCH a great place. Wonderful service. FABULOUS vibes. EXCELLENT food and drink.

We would often dine there with my mother who only recently tried Moroccan food since going with us. On this night we took my mom out to the Troy location since we learned the Guilderland location has stopped dining in service. The atmosphere was quite different, a little darker, very quiet and relaxed. We had no trouble getting a table around 5:30pm on Saturday night. A few of the tables were full and even the counter had someone dining. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We shared a hummus, olive, and beet appetizer. My husband wanted to try the warm fig salad which is usually my favorite but each time I get it it always seems different from the last time. What it lacked in arugula it made up for in olives and figs which was not disappointing for him since he doesn't really enjoy arugula anyway. All three of us ordered vegetable Tagines. My mom and I both got our favorite, the Brown Lentil Tagine which was filled with green olives, preserved lemons, and artichoke hearts. My husband always changed which vegetable Tagine he chooses but this time he picked the Chickpeas and Oranges. The sauces is a little sweeter with the oranges and cherry tomatoes with a prune sauce. All Tagines were served with rice and pita bread and there was no way we could finish so we all had lunch for the next day all packed up to go home. My husband insisted we get a baklava to go which I didn't protest. We are primarily vegan and as honey is one of those controversial items we will just say it is the closest thing on the menu to a plant-based dessert. In all it was an excellent evening and we are looking forward to coming back again soon!

It's very relaxing, never harried here, and the music fit the mood (who knew you could do a smooth jazz rendition of a Kiss song?). Hot tea, made to order, is provided in a generous amount in a beautiful pitcher. We stuck with more traditional Moroccan chicken dishes for our meals, lemon chicken and chicken in apricot sauce with vegetables. Both came out quickly. All the vegetables in my entree had the perfect combination of crisp-tender plus flavor, and I almost wanted to pour the leftover sauce from the dish into a water glass and drink it (dipping your pita bread in it is the more polite option). Apart from being on a one-way street, the restaurant is convenient to access, and there's usually street parking very close. If not, there's a parking garage across the street.
