We were visiting from out of town and always like to find something that is different than what we can find back home. This place did not disappoint for brunch in all the best ways. Princess, the hostess, was such a gem. Have my daughter a skin care gift and told her she had a sexy mom . Offered to give us the senior and children's prices but after a tremendous Korean inspired brunch with an amazing view and such kind staff, we just couldn't do it. Kimchi, eggs, and crab and scallion pancakes with coffee?? Amazing. The best part, is the restaurant is on a defunct golf course that has been turned into an international sculpture garden. Tour is normally $4, but Princess let us walk the trail for free. We spent hours there eating, walking, taking pictures and joking. Best part, my family thought I was a hero for finding such a cool place. Total for several hours of food, fun and amusement was $54, which absolutely cannot be beat! I wish we lived in the area because I want to see Princess every Sunday!

We had to double back for the sundial, be sure to pay attention.

A hidden gem right in our backyard. Although we didn't take part in the buffet, the food looked and smelled good. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We met the owner (I think), who was very helpful and polite. He explained the trail to us, and even redirected us back to the sun dial. There is plenty of parking. There are fees associated and they are only open on weekends, check website for additional info.

A plate food of amazing food!

Food is unique and varied. Service is ok and ambiance is appropriate. Price is reasonable for a brunch in this environment.

We chose to go with the all inclusive wedding package, which took care of so many details that would otherwise be stressful. Our wedding planner/coordinator Andrea is simply amazing. She was so easy to work with and took so much stress off of us, which actually let us enjoy the planning. She was there for us every step of the way and we're forever grateful for her hard work and dedication throughout the process. Sarah the in house florist is unbelievably talented, I honestly could've just given her our colors and let her take the reigns. Sarah's way of bringing a vision to life is breathtaking. Julie the in house designer was also a dream to work with! She executed our vision above and beyond and even suggested ideas we went with that were stunning! After all of the planning our wedding day came, and what a fairy tale it was. My husband and I, our families and friends are just speechless at how magical it was. The day from the very beginning to end was perfect. The timeline Andrea put together for us went smoothly. Her and her assistant Hayley were on top of everything, and also had anything you could think of on them. Shout out to the aprons with scissors, tissues, and anything else you would never think of needing during the getting ready process! We also did a first look on the roof top. I will remember that moment forever, it was so magical and breath taking up there. The private moment we got to share together really made us feel on top of the world. Now to the good part, the food! The in house catering meadowlark was perfection! There were so many options for those who had special dietary restrictions but also so many options for those who don't. Everything, and I mean everything was delicious. The way the Takk house team comes together for your big day is beautiful. You can tell that every single one of them loves what they do and will go above and beyond to make your day special. We can never thank them enough for such a perfect day!!

The building is pretty nondescript from the outside with a poorly done modern façade but the interior retains the charm of a 19th century brownstone. When you enter the building you can either go up the stairs or down to the coolest looking non working bowling alley. Upstairs is a large rectangular bar and a grand staircase to the second level. Straight ahead is the ballroom, with men's and ladies rooms in the hallway. Heidi, one of the owners, was kind enough to let us take a peak upstairs - there's a couple of rooms, one set up like a bedroom, the other with a dining table and chairs. I think further along is a balcony that overlooks the ballroom. The 3rd floor contains the owner's apartment and a gym that's under renovation. The place is not bright and shiny and brand new, instead it retains its 19th century charm along with some funky cool thrown in. I think if I was looking for a non-traditional (not cookie cutter) venue Takk House would be my pick.

From the very beginning I knew I wanted to be on the river in Troy, so the moment I toured the venue and met Maria, I felt an instant sense of warmth and genuine care. It provided the perfect mix of elegance and uniqueness we were looking for. The personal staff we had the day of the wedding was incredible! They made the entire day flow so smoothly and made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. And the food... was SO good! Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. Choosing the Hudson Candy Factory was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I can't thank Maria and Ameila enough for their kindness, attention to detail, and the support they gave us from start to finish. These two have…read moredone A LOT of work to the place, from ripping out pews to transforming the basement into a cool bar. You can tell there was a lot of work done and these two are passionate about their place. I went to a wedding show at The Venue as I have never heard of this place. At the wedding show there were raffles and I ended up winning a discounted Sweet 16. I am SO glad we went with this venue for our daughter's sweet 16 as it was just magical. The owners, Jenn and Dan, were excellent to work with. They were good with communication and helped with whatever they could. Dan was on hand the day of and assisted with setting up more tales/chairs and answered all questions we had. The Venue already comes decorated with flowers along the columns, lights strung above the entrance and along the front of the alter as well as all around the back wall, a gift table and cake table, and even a photo wall with props. The tables and chivari chairs were included in the price. All we had to do was get linens (which we bought online for $8 ea) and centerpieces. The tales and chairs were set up upon arrival and we decorated the tables. We supplied all cups, plates, napkins and utensils. We brought food in and had a buffet style dinner. In the back there is a private bridal suite where we got ready. Here there is a bathroom, multiple mirrors, chairs, a couch and area to do hair/makeup. It was perfect and more than enough room for a bridal party to get ready (we only had three girls getting ready). There is a small bar on the first level that we used as a cash bar. Downstairs there is a huge, beautiful bar that was made from the old pews from the church. It was really beautiful. Down in the basement is where the groomsmen can get ready. There are TVs in the room where a game console could be connected (Xbox or PS4 anyone?), a shuffleboard table and foosball table. There is also a bathroom for the guys as well. We hired a DJ and there was plenty room for him to set up all of his equipment and lights. Everyone who came to the party couldn't believe how beautiful, magical and elegant The Venue is. We received compliments through the night. I wouldn't change anything about this venue as it is perfect. Jenn and Dan are WONDERFUL to work with. At first I felt weird partying in a church (Catholic school girl here) but it was so relaxed and calming in a way that everything just flowed so smoothly. I highly recommend The Venue for an event.
