Turns out I accidentally mapped out a Ryzen upgrade path, but my mobo only supports Intel. So what started as a two-component swap quickly became a much larger operation: migrating a bunch of components across two chassis to make everything compatible. We only realized this after Sam already arrived. We dealt with Jude yesterday, who offered us either a Main Logic Board (aka Motherboard) replacement (for a two year old laptop) or to move forward in to a newer computer, at a $200 difference. We elected to purchase the newer computer, (updated processors, faster buses, fresh battery, etc). It was 3PM and they had our data xferred and everything up and running perfectly in two hours. She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain the entire process to me. Since I arrived close to closing time and didn't have an appointment, she let me know they would run diagnostics on my laptop the following day. There's an $89 diagnostic fee, and if repairs are needed, part of the $89 fee can be used towards the cost, which felt reasonable. The next day, Martin called to let me know there was no damage and that he had cleaned the affected keys. He explained that my laptop passed all tests, but the battery was consumed. When I wasn't sure what that meant, he patiently explained and advised that since the battery wasn't swelling and the computer was still performing well, there was no need to replace it unless I noticed issues. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything and didn't try to upsell me. I was able to pick up my laptop later that same day which was less than 24 hours after dropping it off. I highly recommend Di-No for honest and fast service!
