I went here yesterday for my anniversary, and had a great time! The last time I had been was at the beginning of my relationship, and we had been dying to go back. Teavolve opens at 9 and we got there around 930 on a Sunday. I suggest this to beat the church crowd and the typical brunch crowd since Teavolve does not take reservations. We were sat immediately by a very friendly hostess, and our server, Kierra, came over right away! She was awesome! Very nice and friendly. She had a really cool personality too - she seemed very eclectic. We decided to forego an appetizer, but we did order a pitcher of one of their house made sangrias - we chose the champagne sangria! I'm a brunch lover, and hadn't seen champagne sangria anywhere so I figured I should give it a try. It was great! Perfect mix of wine and champagne - yum! For my meal, I chose the Chesapeake crab benedict and it was great!! It was perfectly seasoned!! And the potato wedges were great! My boyfriend ordered the red velvet pancakes with toast, eggs over easy, and bacon - I tried the pancakes and they were delicious!!! So light and fluffy. The bacon was also cooked well. My boyfriend also ordered the mango bubble tea smoothie which was also delicious. Overall, our experience at Teavolve was amazing! I've been to Teavolve several times.. but years ago. I went with some friends on Sunday for brunch, and I realized I missed this spot. The young lady taking names and seating folks was really pleasant. We had a party of 5 and there was about a 20 minute wait, not too bad for Sunday brunch. Our table had shrimp and grits (both people said they were tasty), Belgian waffle, sides of bacon, eggs, side of grits (good stuff), bananas foster French toast.... BABY!! I was sort of jealous because they looked and smelled so good!! I tasted some of my friends order and it was really really good! I ordered the red velvet pancakes... yea, that was a mistake. Idk why, but they were super flat and thin.. slightly thicker than a crepe. I wasn't impressed and kept looking at my friends French toast, wishing I had got to those, lol. Overall, our waitress was nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I'll definitely be back soon, but I'll get the French toast next time! First time visiting teavolve! We sat ourselves and a server came to us immediately. My friend and I got the champagne sangria I believe it was called in a pitcher and hunni that put me down haha. The food was good and service was fair. I had the Chesapeake omelet which included crabmeat. My friend had the shrimp and grits. Both had great taste. I've been to teavolve quite a few times and the food is always good, but this particular time we waited on by the manager Kim who was absolutely amazing. We were a large group of about 7 adults who were very particular and she accommodated everyone's needs. Pro tip: go when it's early so that you don't have to worry with the brunch crowd or definitely make a reservation in advance because it gets crowded. I meet my boss there to go over some business. We talked a bit and reviewed the menu. Our waitress was good. She listened to order and returned exactly that. She explained the teas, coffees etc. and offered suggestions. The food was extremely tasty. I got the Shrimp and Grits. It was delicious. I recommend the Shrimp and Grits. I also got an order of Shrimp and Grits to go. Please see the attached picture. My only dislike was our waitress did not tell us her name. Once we paid the tab she never came back to the table to see if we wanted anything further like a to go meal, dessert or to offer use free water refills. She serviced other stations and completely ignored us. I/we understood but it wasn't acceptable. We reached out the the other staff of waitresses to get her attention to come back to our table as we wanted to order more drinks to continue to converse and drink some tea. She never returned so we left and went to Dunkin Donuts (DD) down the street to sit converse and eat donuts. We would have loved to continue to stay there and sip tea and order dessert however we felt our waitress figured she done when she charged the card. We took it as though it was a done transaction. I was excited to learn about this place while searching for a breakfast spot with vegan and non vegan options. The website specifically referred to the plant-based options they offer but there weren't a lot of options for breakfast and everything else was just veggies and tofu. I got the black bean burger and it was ok. It falls apart easily but it was fine with some ketchup. My boyfriend got chicken and waffles and the chicken had a lot more batter than chicken. The food came out very quickly but it was a bit underwhelming. Our waitress was ok. She had a lot of tables so we had to track her down every time we needed something. Since my last review of Teavolve, I've been back probably about 4 or 5 times and last night was the first time I've noticed that they've began skimping on product! For example, my friend ordered the Citrus Roasted Shrimp Salad. Before, the shrimp chunks were so plentiful, pieces used to fall off the croissant with each bite but last night, you could barely see any shrimp peeking from underneath the croissant sandwich. I ordered the shrimp and grits and noticed there weren't as many shrimp in the dish as it used to be. Also, the BBQ Chicken pizza had way less chicken pieces on it and it was more BBQ sauce and cheese. Maybe last night stock was running low and they plan to restock soon but to run low on shrimp AND chopped chicken? I don't know...still 5 star whoa nelly for now but when I go back (and it will be soon), if the same thing happens, this place may just lose a star. read more

Been here a few times for breakfast and some tea and I always seem to forget how huge the list of teas is. Makes sense since the name is Teavolve but REALLY there is something for everyone here. Sure any type of tea you want or craving you have can be taken care of. As far as breakfast I usually end up going with some type of breakfast sandwich or bagel with egg and they are pretty good but nothing crazy. Last time I was in I tried another one of their smoothies with a few different flavors and fruits in it and it was pretty delicious. Some of their frozen drinks have a more slushy type consistency to them so be sure to check when ordering! read more

Came here right before dropping my brother off back to school. We arrived around 3 and there were still tables with people enjoying their brunch! Brunch is my fav meal of the day.. so I did not mind at all when they presented us with the brunch menu. However I was a little worried about what to order for the 3 men (fiance, dad, and brother especially since they were starving then!). The menu has all the typical brunch items. We ordered the red velvet pancake, steak panini, crab and egg croissant, and tuna salad croissant. My fiance and I split the pancake and crab croissant to balance out the sweet and salty. My fiance LOVED the fluffy pancakes. I'm not a big pancake person so I thought it was just ok. The croissant was buttery and delicious. The crab filling was a little under-seasoned or needed a dressing to give it a kick so I asked for tabasco sauce on the side. My dad and brother both enjoyed their dishes. They also split half and half to try the other person's dish. The waitress was extremely friendly and kept refilling our water. When she asked us about desserts, she was very frank and told us not to order the cake because it was leftover from yesterday..and has been sitting for a while. COVID Precautions: I commend what they are doing to keep folks safe. The wait staff all wear mask, clean between each seating, and only use plastic wear and to go containers (yes not the most eco friendly, but let's deal with one crisis at a time here) The aesthetics and feel of this restaurant is a cool and comforting one, very much aligned with the cafe/restaurant combo going on. The staff are pretty attentive and easy going. The food however, leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately. I've been here on multiple occasions, and had their pancakes, Breakfast Panini and Breakfast Crepe and they were all pretty dry and unflavored, despite the syrup or sauce they'd given me. I've gone with friends, who've had the shrimp and grits and veggie omelette and expressed the same sentiment. The food, makes this place a 3 for me. I'm not even sure why this review never got published. My visit was a couple years ago. It was a nice calm atmosphere when we visited (mid-morning). I worked right up the street at the time, and noticed my coworkers were constantly coming back with food and drink from Teavolve. I tried one of their waffles, and Yum! But I also didn't have the budget to be spending for waffle breakfasts regularly ($10-ish). Coworkers were often getting bubble tea or would go for afternoon happy hour (margaritas!) when they were done with their shifts. The best shrimp and grits, I've had. Grits were perfect. The sauce was nice and creamy-- spice blend was on point. Shrimp were a nice size... and fresh. My hubby had the steak breakfast--- cooked just right... excellently seasoned... the red potatoes were DELISH Kids had the funnel cake french toast-- Very good. What a waste of money. The food is not good at all and the service is really slow. Mimosa and bloody Mary - decent Red velvet pancakes - you'll get cavities that day... it's so sweet! Funnel cake - the worst of all funnel cakes I've ever had. It crumbles apart. Steak and eggs - the best dish we ordered... although at normal brunch restaurants, it would probably be rated as just mediocre. Drinks take forever. Food took forever and was cold when it came out. The only good thing about this place was that there was no wait to be seated on saturday at 11am. That should have meant something... Poor service and less than fantastic food ruined my recent visit to Teavolve Cafe & Lounge. As this was a Sunday street parking was readily available. The building and inside is nice to look at, full wall windows allow an open look and great for people watching. Service was really sub-par, the waitress didn't seem that interested in her job this particular day. I ordered a drink at the start of the meal and it didn't come until I had already finished eating and was about to walk out the door. In the meantime while waiting, I inquired about my drink and she replied with it should come at some point. She appeared to have a complete lack of awareness or want to care. Food was just eh too. I had the steak and egg hash, the steak was on the light side, this was mainly potatoes and very small pieces of steak. Steak also was a bit tough and overcooked. Eggs were good, sunny side up, nice runny yolk, I liked the eggs but as an overall dish, this left a lot to be desired. My friend and I decided to try Teavolve for brunch. It is located in Harbor East and is a little difficult to find but the inside of the restaurant felt small and cozy. I have been back twice and have tried the Nutella mocha latte which was super sweet and rich but, if you love Nutella like me, this is the perfect drink for you. It is more like a dessert than a coffee though and very large so it was hard to eat anything else. I have also tried their red velvet latte which tasted like I was having a piece of red velvet cake in liquid form. While I love their latte selection, I did not feel the same about their food. I ordered a tuna croissant which looked amazing but when I tasted it, I knew something was off. I realized they had given me a chicken croissant instead. It tasted okay but made me not order food the second time I went to Teavolve. Overall, I would recommend Teavolve for a sweet latte experience. read more

There's really nothing else quite like it in the Inner Harbor area, so in that sense it is at the very least unique. I went here on a weekday night and the place is not exactly bumping like Ouzo or crowded like Ms. Shirley's, but that's not necessarily a marker of how good it is. I got a APB (acai, pomegranate, blueberry) smoothie with bubbles. The smoothie itself was solid and the bubbles tasted overdone on the outside and like powdery straight from the bag undercooked on the inside. How one manages to undercook and overcook something at the same time is indeed a feat in itself. I also got the bacon cheeseburger which I ordered medium (it came out a nice well-done). Was looking for a place for brunch and was drawn here due to the pictures and menu I saw online. The ambiance and music played was all really nice. Let's first talk about the customer service; it was stellar from the time we walked in until the time we exited. There was a small wait but the hostess made sure to have all of our information so that we would not be missed. Our table was properly sanitized before we sat down. Once we sat down our order was taken right away with accuracy and a smile. We had the cayenne wings, red velvet waffle, potatoes, apple smoked wood bacon, salmon cakes, buttermilk pancakes, and the strawberry shortcake. For me this is very important, you have so many ppl who work in customer service but are not providing great service. Our level of satisfaction we had leaving here cannot be measured. It was definitely drinkable and really snuck up on us quickly. After reading a handful of yelp reviews, I ordered the crab and egg croissant. It was good, but it came out lukewarm. As someone who likes her food super hot, this was pretty disappointing. The best part of the croissant was the aioli, but it wasn't very evenly spread out and I didn't get some with every bite. A couple of friends ordered omelettes. These came out piping hot and I was pretty jealous! Both ordered them with smoked salmon so they were salty--too salty, actually. Overall, the food was nothing to call home about. What really ruined our visit was that everything took so long. Our server Tirzah was super sweet and friendly, but she was super busy when the restaurant wasn't even full. A different server brought us our drink orders. She got a couple of coffees wrong and definitely gave us a look when we corrected her. We waited far too long for our food, and only slightly less for our check. Teavolve is such a cute and quaint breakfast/brunch spot. It serves tea and has a hip tea house vide with a nice selection of food. Located in Harbor East, it's just a short walk to the harbor. The biggest downside was all of the construction nearby. The construction across the street took away some of the available parking. It's good for lunch for two, which is why I was there, but also cool for a big party, which was also happening while I was there. Plus it's Black owned! Always a win in my book! read more

An unassuming little cafe just a couple blocks from the Four Seasons. They were playing some seriously good music, but the atmosphere was just OK. I got a table by the window where I could watch all the joggers and walkers. The crowd was younger, local. Chairs were uncomfortable -- I can't imagine lingering too long. My food was great though -- just what I wanted on a Saturday morning with time to kill before my flight. Frankly, they had me at "cheesy grits." The breakfast crepe had perfectly cooked eggs, bacon and melted cheese in a pretty good crepe, with the cheese grits ladled over the top. Sounds weird, but I liked it! I'm so glad that we were forced to try Teavolve! It's my new favorite place and just what I've been looking for--a place that has a great modest atmosphere with delicious affordable food. My friend and I both ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict which was really beautifully done; the eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was awesome. The potatoes were excellent (a little old bay kick?) and the bloody marys were great and for only $3 each, you can't beat that. (or $12 for a pitcher) My husband ordered the shrimp and grits which was amazing; super flavorful and delicious. Ultimate comfort food and he claimed it was better than Woodberry Kitchen's. My other friend ordered the crepes and said they were delicious as well. 'S what I do for my Yelp homies. Respect, yo. Food's good - cafe fare, with a little quirky twist here or there, and not too expensive. Bonus points for $3 mimosas, bloody marys, and sangria (three flavors) at brunch-time on Sats and Suns. Prices in general aren't unrealistic - quaffed a pretty decent Italian sparkler to start with for $6 (served chilled, but not ice cold, which was a pleasant touch), followed up with a tasty pot of lemongrass oolong to go along with my eggs benedict and smoked salmon. The wife sipped on her white sangria and sparkling white pomegranate tea while she munched into an egg, cheese, and lump crabmeat croissant. Brunch with tea and drinkies was under $20 a person, it's a pleasant enough place, eggs come from a local farm (Springfield) with real free-range hens and they're tasty-tasty. My friends and I travel from DC to Teavolve almost every Sunday. Great atmosphere, amazing live bands and great tea. The owners of this modern jazzy tea house are equally impressive and warm. The food is great. While I agree with one of the other posters that it can be a bit pricey for what you get, they have a spectacular happy hour every day that can't be beat. The tea selection is extensive and they even have a full bar! So you can get everything from the traditional (and very tasty) spiced chai latte to tea infused Sangria! Genuis!!! The shrimp & grits are better than crack and now they've added red velvet pancakes --OBNOXIOUSLY GOOD. On occassion, when they have a band in house and provide a specialty menu, I've had the beef short ribs... If I could lift my face out of my cup of tea or from my plate long enough to find the chef, I'd smack 'em. Well, maybe not the chef but it's good enough for me to go smack somebody. I kind of have to eat my words on this one. It's my pet prejudice to assume anything close to the waterfront is going to compensate for their great location by having terrible everything else. Not so with teavolve. I got a cappuccino that was as big as my face (I have a big face) and a greek omelette that, while kind of light on the feta, was tasty and really filling. Location Great location. Sits on the corner of the and a block from the waterfront. Street parking (on a Sunday for brunch) was plentiful. It's in downtown without being "downtown", so not as many tourists or unpleasant characters around. Atmosphere Very chic, yet simple, interior design and decoration. Open feeling with the high ceilings and being able to see the entire restaurant. Pleasant, feel good atmosphere. Service Our waitress was impeccable! As this was my first time visiting the restaurant, she recommended her personal favorites and was able to answer all of our questions flawlessly when asked. She made sure our food came out timely and the order was correct. We never had to search for her when we wanted a refill, extra condiments, etc. We weren't rushed to receive our bill, nor were we rushed to pay it so the table could become free for the next guests. Food/Drinks My personal recommendation: the house-made tea-infused sangria! We ordered a pitcher of the red...which I ended up drinking the entire pitcher by myself. Some of the best sangria I've ever had. I was also told that the spiced chai tea latter was good as well; even a 2nd order was placed after the 1st one was drunk. The menu prices are extremely reasonable for a casual brunch atmosphere. We ordered the spinach & artichoke dip as an appetizer. Even though it wasn't as good as my homemade version, it was still very delicious and a great alternative! There wasn't enough pita slices, so we requested more; you are charged for it, but honestly, who cares at this point? It's THAT good! I ordered the egg sandwich with turkey bacon and cheddar on a bagel, which was cooked and presented with perfection with a side of fruit. Filling up your belly without emptying your wallet!
