**very nice staff/owner, cozy vibes I've been here many times, particularly during the summer. Andy (the owner) is super nice and friendly! I've had multiple conversations with him and he is always happy to help. I got a kimchi bun once that was too hard, and he quickly replaced it for me. I really appreciated that! The chai latte is also really good here. I'm not a huge coffee drinker so I can't comment on that. I will say that the bubble tea is not great; the boba is usually too mushy. Taiyaki is so cute too! I enjoy studying here because it's peaceful, and this place opens late! That's pretty rare for a coffee shop. During the summer, a lot of kids come for the frozen yogurt, and I find that so cute! It feels like a vibrant community. read more

Came here for some afternoon coffee. Ordered the fresh pumpkin latte and the nocciola caldo latte. The pumpkin latte had pumpkin puree blended in the latte but as far as the pumpkin spice flavor you'd normally expect there was none. There was no added sweetness or spice added to the pumpkin puree so it was just a latte with pumpkin puree. The nocciola caldo had Nutella folded into the latte but I would say the Nutella flavor was pretty light. Overall I thought both lattes did not have a strong espresso flavor. Maybe they're more known for their other products besides coffee but I would not come back here for coffee. The place however had a nice, cozy ambiance and our server was very friendly. read more

Wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing either. My husband and I paid $27 for 2 small drinks and 2 small pastries that weren't that good. The Vietnamese cappuccino tasted like regular black coffee. The iced hazelnut latte had large clumps of chocolate and cinnamon powder which just ruined the coffee for me. The desserts were a big stale, but I also came at 5:30 ish. Which means they have been sitting there for a good portion of the day. The staff was very nice! I asked for this opinions on what I should get and they were very helpful! They offer bubble tea and froyo too! I'm not sure how those products are from this establishment, and I don't think I ever will. I did a little hot chocolate adventure for my Baltimore food instagram (@AmandaTheEpicure) where I ranked my favorites, and this was in my top 3 across the city! A surprise top choice for me as it was more of a milk chocolate, and I normally prefer dark! However, it was smooth with a clear and present chocolate flavor. There was no milky aftertaste either, which I find to be the case with lighter hot chocolates. If you want a classic, lighter experience, this is the choice for you. After checking out Checkerspot Brewing, I wanted something sweet but not ice cream. One yelp search and a couple blocks later and we found this place. The kiddo got froyo and actually ate all of it. We got a sampling of all the macarons. Buy five and get one free. Oh so there are six flavors? Look at that. Two awesome little bites. Loved all the flavors but the lemon and coffee were clear winners. And I'm a chocolate girl saying that. Not heavy at all. Just the right amount of sweet. I had wanted to stop by here a couple times before but they were closed during the hours when they said they'd be open. But this time they were open when I was walking by so I popped in for some soft serve. The owner (pretty sure he's the owner based on insta) was super friendly and said the soft serve flavor I wanted wasn't quite ready, but he would try and get it ready quicker. I didn't mind, plus it was pouring rain outside so I'm sure he was prioritizing other things over the froyo. When it was ready, he thanked me for my patience and gave me a 30% discount for the wait! delicious froyo- original tart is my favorite flavor. They also offer vegan flavors like mango. They have a wide selection of desserts and drinks, like cookies and cold brew. The interior is cute too, with lots of sunlight during the day. The owner is also super friendly and sweet! Love stopping by here for dessert. read more

I checked out Afters Cafe with a small group of friends and it definitely gave me cozy cafe vibes. We went in the evening and there was great seating area with some couches and chairs for everyone to chat. I got a mixture of the blueberry and taro frozen yogurt, along with passion fruit popping boba and gummy bears. The blueberry yogurt was very creamy and fresh! The taro had an almost coconuty note to it and I loved the unique flavor. I found out they have red bean taiyaki that are made fresh to order, so I'll be getting that next time. read more

Visited this place a two years ago and still think of it from time to time. Whether it'd be the warm chocolate bungeoppang or the warm and cozy ambiance with the straight out of a movie city street view from the window, it's a place where you'd want to visit at least once within your time at Baltimore, Maryland. When I went I got an iced Americano, the service was great even thought it was a one man operation day. The coffee was good quality as well , all thanks to illy. Over all waiting time was 5-10 minutes but it was all worth it. Will be back soon because fall time is approaching! read more

Looking to avoid another experience with the green siren woman, we aimed our feet for this part of town and landed at Afters. Pastries, coffees and six different flavors of frozen yogurt with a decent assortment of toppings. It's Illy coffee, which is usually quite good. High top tables, some lower ones with two sofas and seats outside where you can watch the traffic go by on this busy thoroughfare. Decent service, even if I had to remind the gal that we still needed two cups of cold water in addition to our espressos. Free wifi worked well once I had the password. read more

For when you have a froyo craving....and it's late....AFTERs is what you want. After is a decent place (and one of the few) in Baltimore to get some froyo, and just by the name, you know it's open pretty late. Came here on a Saturday night and was glad too see it was open til 12 am. I'm a big fan of self serve froyo so I can get variety of w/e toppings I want and a mix of yogurt flavors. Afters has a very decent selection of flavors, I think I counted around 7 or 8 from mango to the classical tart. The topping selections was also pretty good--all ur standard toppings as well as some surprises like chocolate covered pomegranate. GREAT TOPPING SELECTIONS. The only negative thing I have to say was the cleanliness (it might have just been that night, certainly not a deal breaker to not come here). The couches were a bit stained and i had the overall feel that everything needed to be wiped down. Staff was very friendly, smiles and all. read more

This place is heaven if you have a sweet tooth and hell if you're trying to eat healthy. I've only been here once and I definitely plan on going back. FYI, they only have street parking available which you need to pay for. They have a lot of sweets you can get so pick your favorites! They have frozen yogurt, bubble tea, smoothies, macaroons, cakes, and even a donut thingy which looks like a donut but isn't called a donut (called bomboloni?). They also serve coffee and lattes but I have never tried them. Starting with the soft serves, it was pretty good. Like all soft serve places, unless you have a crazy new flavor, it's hard to get blown away. They also have the regular toppings you find at any fro-yo place. I got a Nutella and chocolate frozen yogurt mix with cheesecake bites, cookie dough, and peanut butter on top Bc I'm weird like that!! read more

Friendly service and hip vibe. It's pretty much exactly what one might expect from a froyo shop. My only gripe is that sometimes the froyo isn't always frozen enough, and melts quicker than I'd like. Afters is one of the few (only???) froyo shops in the area. read more

Cute cafe in Fed Hill for drinks and dessert! My favorite was the Earl Grey Milk Tea -- it was on point and not overly sweet. The Citron Tea is also very refreshing and a very nostalgic flavor for anyone who's viet. All of the froyo I tried (you can get a small cup to try as many flavors as you want!) was good, especially the Peanut Butter which tastes like a reese's cup; they even have Taro! There's lots of toppings and the Strawberry was fresh. I definitely want to try the cake next time i'm back. Seating is limited to mainly small 2-person tables and a couple of couches. Favorite froyo in Baltimore and I'm loyal for so many reasons. The flavors range from the tried and true to the more creative combinations. They change the options fairly frequently so you can never really go too often. My favorites are the Soy peanut butter, Nutella, and taro. There's a good assortment of toppings, which are all fresh and well organized. They have everything: mochi, caramel, cookie dough, cheese cake bites, granola, a variety of fresh fruit, etc. The owner, Andy, provides exceptional customer service and really goes out of his way to ensure a good experience. One of my first times there, we showed up right at closing time (not knowing the hours). We were about to turn around and leave, but he eagerly welcomed us in. Even though they had wiped down all the machines and covered all the toppings with plastic wrap, he immediately opened everything up for us. We've been coming here for the last several years now. He's even given us complimentary cakes and other baked goods for our birthdays. It's a cute shop and perfect for catching up with friends. Great service, quality, and flavors!! Afters Cafe is a little cafe that offers espresso, pastries, bubble tea, and frozen yogurt. The hubs and I stopped by to grab some snacks - I tried Andy's Fresh Apple Cider (housemade apple cider made with Gala apples, cinnamon, and seasonal spice; this was served hot (or cold, if you like) and was pretty soothing and tasty); a Pumpkin Mocha Latte (made with illy espresso, steamed milk, pumpkin spice flavor, dark chocolate, and whipped cream; I was not a fan of this, as it tasted more like watered down coffee; I was pretty disappointed with this one!); the hubs tried a Passion Fruit Bubble Tea with light ice and with bubbles - this was not too sweet and was more of a tea form; the hubs stated it was one of the best teas he's had in quite some time! I also had to try some of their French macarons - the cassis and the passion fruit; both were on the forgettable side, as they were extremely cold and on the chewier end. I have to give a shout-out to Daniel, because he was just super sweet and awesome! There's seating inside with even a bookcase with children's books and such. I have lived in the Federal Hill area for over 5 years now and was always disappointed with the fact that there were no true desert places in the area worth going to. With the disgusting hot summer nights that Baltimore brings, its good to have a place within walking distance to satisfy an ice cream craving any given night. Afters Cafe hits the sweet spot right on with their frozen yogurt. Their primary offering, Afters' fro yo seems to be updated daily with new flavors (mango is the s$#&) and has a crazy amount of toppings. Unlike chains such as Rita's or Coldstone, the fro yo with toppings don't leave you feeling like death. I highly recommend the fresh kiwi and strawberry for a nice change from that "Gotta Have It size double fudge chocolate with a Snickers bar, peanut butter cup, and caramel mixed in" served at Coldstone. The setup is self-serve where you can create your own frozen fruity concoction for just 45 cents an ounce as of this review. The owners/employees are really friendly and really compliment the trendy, welcoming vibe that the shoppe offers. Other menu items include premium brewed coffee and pastries, both of which are next on my list to try. It's nice to find an independently owned cafe, especially one with neat decors and photographs. They have a variety of drinks; ranging from bubble tea (in plenty of flavors) to cappuccinos. Cute cafe in Fed Hill! They have a pretty large assortment of baked items, but I was hoping for more flavors of macarons. They also have serve yourself frozen yogurt where you operate the machine yourself and then weigh how much you get with lots of toppings. The iced coffee I got there (pumpkin mocha latte with almond milk) was good, but wasn't mixed super well so my first taste was all sugar and then it was bland. It's a pretty quiet cafe so would be good for getting work done but maybe not for a social get together. read more

My first impression of this place was the actually the bathroom. I was desperately seeking one during that Federal Hill Beats Festival and did not want to drag a toddler and a stroller into a port-a-potty. The gentleman at the counter was nice enough to let us use the bathroom for free and nice enough to NOT take me up on my offer to pay him a million dollars for the privilege of indoor plumbing. That aside, we of course had to sample the fro-yo and it was delicious. We got the red velvet and the chocolate which I thought would be overkill but both were very good. They also offer Illy coffee, a fancy schmancy Italian coffee that I am more used to seeing in the streest of a European cafe rather than on Charles Street in Baltimore.As I was also desperately seeking coffee, I ordered a macchiato that hit the spot and gave me the jolt I needed. read more

I was in Federal Hill for the first time a few days ago and was craving boba. After a quick search on Yelp, I decided to stop into Afters Cafe. The place is bright, quirky, and colorfully decorated. It was pretty quiet though when I walked in, so I wouldn't say this is the type of cafe to sit down for the afternoon to do some work. As I walked up to counter, I noticed there was a wide assortment of desserts, pastries, sweets, and frozen yogurt to try. I ordered the Mango boba drink at the recommendation of the server, and it was an okay drink- not the best boba I had, but not too bad that I wanted to throw away the drink. The reason why I say the boba wasn't the best was because the tapioca pearls were a bit over-cooked and the mango juice was very sweet and artificial. Nevertheless, the place still had a nice atmosphere, and I would definitely go back again, but maybe I would order frozen yogurt or a pasty instead. read more

Rude Service. Disappointed. So disappointed with this cafe. Just moved the the neighborhood and was looking for a good dessert place. The website says it closes at 11. Went there at 10:31 to get fro yo and we were rejected at the counter, the worker told us they were closing early at 10:30 because it was a "slow night". She refused to let us get fro yo or even a pre made dessert even though there were still customers sitting in the cafe. read more

This place is amazing! Andy is great and always has a positive attitude. I really like their service and the quality of food was amazing. Wonderful desserts! I love their macarons, but they also have a great selection of dessert cakes and the like along with a frozen yogurt bar and coffee. If I'm in the area in fed hill, it's always a joy to stop by for one of their delicious desserts. My only complaint is that I've been twice when the shop was closed with a note posted on the door saying "out on break for 5 min," and we definitely waited for their return for more like 15 min. I haven't been back since, but their desserts are definitely worth it. read more

This is defiantly a hidden gem in Federal Hill. This cafe turned frozen yogurt joint is cozy and inviting as soon as you walk in. There are sofas to the right of the door with kid and adult friendly books, a showcase of desserts ahead ranging from cakes and macaroons, and then frozen yogurt in the back. People can come here to order a coffee to hang out or grab some yogurt with friends. This place is also kid friendly and a great hang out for the whole family ! read more

Tasty froyo and lots of options for toppings! Not a ton of variety with froyo flavors, but they've got the basics. I got some strawberry and some vanilla, with fresh strawberries on top and those bursting bubbles that are delicious. Ample seating and friendly staff, and in a great location too. Afters is a nice place to sit and enjoy dessert after a show at... the magic place, I guess. Still, it's a nice little place in Fed Hill around the corner from Cross Street Market. Most of their counter space is devoted to a yogurt bar (sold by weight, so careful on the toppings) but they do have some other cakes and desserts, and especially a case full of assorted macarons. I always thought they were "macaroons" but who cares, they're an adorable little cookie. My wife really enjoyed her slice of Carrot Cake with a delightfully sweet cream cheese frosting. I've never been a fan of walnuts, but the ones coating the outside were chopped so finely I really enjoyed the texture. The macarons were perfect, with a lightly crisp shell and soft cookie, with a surprisingly chewy filling in each one. The Chocolate was good, as was the Raspberry (which was the biggest), but the star was the Lemon with an intensely pronounced flavor. The prices was a little off-putting at almost two buck each, but they were very filling. read more

My friend and I each ordered an entree plus a short stack to share. Neither of our egg dishes came with toast so we ordered that on the side. All they offer is white, English muffin or biscuit. I ordered the white toast and it is the 2" thick, low quality, tasteless white bread they use for their French toast. Whatever. The utensils are one step above plastic - they are light-weight, cheap, rough edged crap you might imagine in a prison. Whatever. The plastic containers of half and half were already on the table, sitting there at room temp. Again, whatever. The waitress dropped off the bill, said to use the QR code to pay unless we were using cash, then took off. If we wanted to split the bill, I guessed we would need to wait for her to come back around. So, I offered to pay the astoundingly high bill. I open the QR link and the first things that popped are the tip options with 20% pre-selected. All told the bill was $97 for two people. When I got home I glanced at the itemized bill: *They charged us $16 for two cups of coffee with one refill each. *a 20 % tip was already included! Apparently, they add 20% onto checks over $50. Of course it's over $50 when you charge $16 for mugs of coffee, and $$ for sides of crappy white toast. Make no mistake, this is my fault for paying with the QR code and not combing through the itemized bill first. I guess I'm not used to going to neighborhood joints expecting to get fleeced. My suggestion: go around the corner to Spoons Cafe on Cross St: high quality food and you won't feel robbed blind when you look at the bill.

It was a community dinner party with Chef Char. You had a choice of a ticket with or without wine pairing. Me and my friend chose the ticket with wine pairing. The ticket included two glasses of wine. The menu was not printed online so we went in kinda blind on what was served. The first course was a roasted vegetable dish which consisted of broccoli, fingerling potatoes and pears with a Greek yogurt sauce. The second course was chicken thighs with risotto in a tomato sauce and the third course was a granola strudel with pears. There was also an arugula salad with grapefruit segments and parmesan cheese. I can be brutally honest, none of the courses were seasoned well. The first course was cold, the vegetables were wilted and did not mesh well. Was not expecting pears to be with my roasted vegetables. The second course was underwhelming as well. The food did not have any flavor and the dessert was not my favorite at all. I only ate the fruit out of the dessert. The chef did come out and let us know what each course was, however I felt that she really wasn't too personable with the guests. A few of the guests at the table were her friends so she only engaged with them, and of course they hyped her up, however the food was bland and underwhelming and the majority of the guests including myself did not finish their plates. If there is another community dinner, I hope it will be with a different chef in mind As I stated before my review is of the event, not the business as a whole.
